iLUMeN8: ....so you go around deceiving innocent fellas with a fake persona abi? . am I being deceived? Lol no, not at all. It's just that I'm extremely intense in relationships. IDK, but maybe it comes off as being extreme or smothering. Shrugs. So I constantly have to check myself & my reactions, in case I've got some poor guy by the jagular without even knowing It happens I go from 0-100. I cant do mild. Hence I say I sometimes feel the need to dilute because very few men can handle me in full throttle, they'll die of suffocation My venom is too strong |

iLUMeN8: a disclaimer should have been placed on the post I first quoted. you are wired differently and I get that now but I want you to know that the person we share a first kiss and shag with will always have a place in our heart and memories regardless of whether the memories were good, bad or ugly. Well, maybe not romantic feelings but fondness or some other lower emotion of the same variety I also mentioned I have no negative feelings towards my 1st. He's actually the only guy in my past that I still genuinely like as a person because there were never any hurt feelings. No lying or cheating that I know of. He was a good BF & we both loved intensely, so there was never a need to hold back or dilute my personality around him. We were well suited in many ways. It's just that life got in the way, probably for the best. |

iLUMeN8: really? don't take this the wrong way but I find this hard to believe. I remember my first kiss like it was yesterday, bumped into her a couple of months ago and to my amazement part of me still felt something. if I could feel that way about a kiss then I think a girl should feel something even if it is resentment toward the dude that was responsible for her first shag. Well, I am not you. Just because YOU experience things a certain way, doesnt mean it's like that for everybody. I for one am not one to dwell too much on past events. Meaning, if it didnt happen today, I dont care for it. There's not one person I feel what you just described for. So, you see? We're all wired differently. When *I* move on, sometimes it becomes very hard to even recall how the person made me feel. It's like out of sight, out of mind. No emotional memory whatsoever. I heard it's an illness & I'm glad I have it |

unapapadeycraze: no wonder you don't think about him again . I thought you ladies like badt guys? Perhaps, dats what attracted you to him. What really attracted you to him in the 1st place? I mean before he started misbehaving. Lol, well he is good looking (even now) & can be very sweet. I guess I was going through a bad boy stage back then, being a teenager & all. He could fight at the drop of a hat. There were always stories of him beating up some guy, etc. That to me was hot & manly lol. That was until I witnessed how unstable he can be when he saw me talking with another guy. It was all innocent, I swear I'm not lying lol. Anyway, he started raging in full view of people & drew a knife on the other guy. I ran like the wind because I've never seen a stabbing before. After that I started realizing that maybe I've bitten more than I can chew & was starting getting scared of him. He never laid a hand on me though. He was very sweet & loving. I remember one time he bought me a music box on my birthday. Just to be sure, I asked if he had stolen it Well, he was a thief so. But OMG, you could have sworn I accused him of murder or something he had not done before, because he EXPLODED in anger, making me regret ever asking such a sensible question PS: when I met him he had just lost his brother so he was a sad person. I wanted to "help" him. He blamed himself all the time over his brother's death. Technically, it was his fault because the guys shot his brother thinking it was him. They looked identical. It was easier mistaking one for the other, except the one I was dating was very, very soft spoken & shy, despite being a menace to society & a certifiable nut |

obiorathesubtle:
there's no south african who doesn't like kwaito?? Habaa punky.. Have you met everybody in south africa?? Not everyone digs the whole ghetto or "street" thing naa.. Even some core ghetto or street folks are obsessed with em classical ish and don't even have time for ghetto ish.. Over here, we call that kinda thing "mgbeke feeling funky" .. However, it's a good thing you like indigenous music, I was watching a talk show one day and the south african presenter says most of the south african population prefer foreign music.. Megan trainor, taylor swift.. ETC..
Uuuh.. Nigeria is soooo diverse so, no one pays attention to the genres of songs.. But for indigenous, we have highlife, fuji, juju, etc.. Really badass ish.. But they aint ghetto or street..
Naturally, we don't celebrate em ghetto or street life.. The west just came out of nowhere and said.. "Hey.. Y'all need to make em know there's sth called the street.. And it has a voice.."... Nigerians and their wannabe life just copied the whole thing and created more genres for themselves..
Sorry for the long text Lol, very insightful. Thank you. Well by every South African likes Kwaito, I meant it's a popular genre. On radio stations it's kwaito & house they play because that's what the majority likes. As for what the presenter said, yes we do listen to American music like everyone else, but we also like our own- South African house music being the most favourite amongst South Africans eg. you hear it on taxis & people's cars. |

obiorathesubtle: alright.. I'm watching..
Hey, do you like kwaito?? Hmmm..ok Lol, there's no South African who doesnt like kwaito & house music. Kwaito appeals more to the very "street" people though- I dont wanna say ghetto, but something like that. We grew up on it so I still tap my foot to some of the old school kwaito jams What music genres do you guys have over there? |
