Both of them are located near the Liverpool Street station, I haven't visited either of them yet but they come highly recommended and the prices seem quite reasonable in my opinion.

It will be nice if we can get those who are interested to confirm intent as soon as possible so that we know how many to book a table for.

Buhari: (Cuts in) Which courts are you talking about? I said which courts? They are all corrupt and nobody with his senses should bother with the courts. I am speaking from experience. But their time has come, they all should be ready for me. As soon as I take over, all this nonsense will stop.

Noblezone: Sir, you are speaking with all certainty about you taking over, but the election is yet to take place. Why are you so sure?

Buhari: Are you in this country at all? Have you not heard of the BB wildfire? It has spread across Nigeria to the extent that Yoruba, Igbo, Ijaw, Igala, Biron, Efik, etc are all shouting “Sai Buhari”. You needed to be at the rallies, and see the whole of Nigeria almost going crazy whenever I appear.

Noblezone: but sir, those crowd you are mentioning has so far been a Northern thing and besides, you cant really use the crowds to measure the out come of the elections…,

The coming storm

On Wednesday, May 11, the News Agency of Nigeria ran a story about the numbers of students registered for this year's National Common Entrance Examination. The NCEE, for those who may not know, is the examination into Federal Government Colleges (Unity Schools) across Nigeria.

According to the news agency, a total of 62,682 pupils had registered to sit for the examination. Considering the fact that this examination is meant for pupils in the 9-11 age bracket, the first question that came to my mind was whether we have just 62, 682 children of that age in Nigeria.

When you think of the fact that 70% of our 150 million-population is under the age of 30, then that figure of 62, 682 becomes utterly ridiculous. Assume that there is an equal distribution of citizens in each year of life, then we should be expecting to see upwards of 10 million souls registering for the NCEE; not a paltry 0.6% of that figure.

As is usual with these little dramas, the devil is in the detail. According to the CEO of the National Examination Council, Prof. Promise Okpala, 16050 of the 62682 registrants are in Lagos State, Kebbi has 83 registrants, and Yobe has 74!

So where are all the 9-11 year olds in both Kebbi and Yobe states? And how come Lagos alone has 26% of all the registrants? The last time I checked, our own official figures give Lagos 6% of our total population.

What this tells me is that education all over the rest of Nigeria, not just in the North, is shutting down. The potential impact of this is incredibly horrifying.

Consider that the post-election violence in Northern Nigeria was orchestrated by a small, but influential, and educated elite who use the large numbers of uneducated boys milling aimlessly around as a weapon, then you realise just how bad things will become if we continue at this rate.

The signs are already there: Northern Nigeria is shutting down, and a lot of its citizens are voting with their feet and moving down South in search of greener pastures. This movement will lead to more communal conflicts, of the kind we have seen with increasing frequency in the Middle Belt.

The scariest part of the whole drama being played out is what will happen if, as these indicators point to, Southern Nigeria decides to go the way of the North and stops educating its young, or worse, gives them poor education. The potential (and catastrophic) effects are better imagined.

Ihedinobi: My soul has grown weary. Not that kind of weary that results from a tiring argument where one tires from the difficulty of getting through to an opponent. This kind is difficult to describe in a name.

While we are fighting so hard to bring so many to know the Lord, we are neglecting our own house. This was never the Lord's way nor His desire. Our witness was always supposed to be more than just words or arguments. It was supposed to be the whole life in full expression.

We have careers to express Christ in, family issues to bring under His Rule and Authority, relationships to carry on under His Eye, businesses to build to provide His solutions to societal problems, political issues to offer sanctified opinions in. And we insist on winning those who have rejected to be (edit) convinced by argument? Why?

Tears threaten while I type this. I have a full life to learn to live under the Hand of the Holy Spirit and brethren with whom to learn the lessons more effectively. I am handicapped while these brethren are embroiled in fruitless arguments. Who knows but that these "stiff-necked" unbelievers might begin to see the Lord when we dial down the talking and simply live out our lives reflecting the glory and beauty of our Lord?

I am hungry to quit from all the wrangling and fighting and the ease with which things become unedifying and unglorifying. My brothers and sisters, children of God, servants of the Lord Jesus Christ, shall we not preserve the sacredness and glory of the treasures of Christ by taking them where they are more greatly needed and scarce.

Have you thought what would happen if our businesses are pursued in the principles and power of Christ? Or if we pursued increase in knowledge and ability guided by that powerful Nature of His which knows no limitation? Or if we addressed Nigeria's political problems with Christ's intellect and passion? I have, and I tell you, the result is almost incredible. Nigeria would be unrecognizable if that happened.

Let us build our home, my brothers and sisters. Let us clean up our house and let us make a place to bring weary wayfarers to when we find them.

I sincerely wish there was no religion forum to compartmentalise Christ in. If there wasn't, we'd be forced to learn Christ practically just as the Lord intended. If there wasn't, enemies of the Lord would need practical failures of our ways to accuse the Lord. As it is, they are content running around in illogical circles to prove illogical things and because we accommodate them, we're not learning Christ properly and our house is falling to pieces and they have cause to accuse the Lord.

I love to fraternize with my family. I will do it anywhere not just in the religion section or in a building called a church. We should stop acting like Christ is one thing and life is another. It's doing Christ grievous ill and bringing none to true salvation.

Please come home, my brothers and sisters.

fluxbush: @alexleo,I know it might sound unbelievable but I was there,in the church,when this 'confession' was taking place. Funny enough,the testimonies on that fateful service,were mostly connected to the CDs and how it affected many people. Quite a number of people came out to testify how they watched the 'demonic' CD and became insane instantly. It took the grace of the god of chosen for them to regain their senses(according to them). These testimonies made the GO declare that no one must buy those CDs or run the risk of insanity. You can imagine the haste at which the members who already owned those CDs,destroyed and burnt their copies. All these propaganda makes me feel unsettled and uneasy in the spirit. The new thing is to say to anyone who tries to talk you out of the church,' I am a chosen,I cannot be deceived. Sounds like hogwash to me.
