see this quote from a Yoruba man.

Hi Everybody, My name is Micheal (back home i'm called Ishola). I have stayed in New York city for over 5 years now . Before then I was in Jamaica for 12 years.

The first 28 years of my life was one of extreme shyness and seclussion!, Why ? - Because I had 6 tribal marks on my face, 3 on each side. :trek

Today however, the story is diffrent. I had plastic sugery 2 years ago and Voila, my face is all smooth and fresh now !. wink

In case you are wondering about my sex, I am a very active MALE . My current hobbies are online shopping and travelling.
So Arnold start saving up
There's help if you need it rather than get angry.

Good response. Queenisha just brought this topic up (again) due to her disgust for yorubas.

She is a lowlife tribalist. Pay her no attention.
and yet my first 2 boyfriends on campus were Yoruba boys amidst a sea of Igbo boys shocked shocked

I wonder where they are today

She had been living with us w/out a mark.

In fact, this is the news i read today on my cell phone:

These are churches in AMERICA, one of the richest countries in the world.

@ gamine, point out what you are calling lies, in anything I have said here, so i can explain it to you better. undecided

See, this is why that thread shouldnt have been closed.

There's still so much more to be said. undecided
And what makes you think these Churches you're criticising are not empowering their members on financial freedom ?
Many churches even in Nigeria have schools, day care, restaurants.
Crown financial is a Christian owned andbased financial group that holds seminars in Churches.

The Bible is a complete book on life and living.
It's not enoughto criticise one thing based on a story and neglect other good work done by the church.
The drug addicts set free, the wayward husband delivered, families put together again, help to the poor and needy.

This jet will have air hostesses, pilots, mechanics, control people, engineers e.t.c.
It will give people jobs.

Sir, im not Judging anyone.

like i said before i was "wondering"

I'm not against your opinion

But im against you telling lies for nothing.

Cant Christians have nice things?
Yes i said that because, if Glo buys a jet, people wont say nothing.
isnt it the money of the masses that they would use to buy it.

Even if i think 20m is an awful lot of money, buying this jet may be of utmost need.
there are those that think not.
There are people who think Christians should be allergic to fancy cars and luxurious living since there are poor people around needing help.
Nonsense.
Have they even opened the Bible talk less of reading and meditating on the word?
Christianity EtcRe: Re: Adeboye Shops For $20m Jet (Locked) by Queenisha: 1:16am On Jul 21, 2008
So practising sectarianism, genocide, and the like are akin to a Church using it's funds to buy a jet for transportation and spreading the gospel ? shocked shocked
Christianity EtcRe: Re: Adeboye Shops For $20m Jet (Locked) by Queenisha: 1:08am On Jul 21, 2008
Or is it Adeboye that made people jobless and hungry?
Remember the woman that poured the box of alabaster oil on Jesu's feet.
What did people say?
They chastized the woman for wasting such precious oil but what did Jesus say?
The poor you'll have with you always, what did woman did was necessary and expedient at this time.

If it's necessary that the church acquires a jet for the work of God,so be it.
You are not under any obligation to contribute to them

When Paul Crouch was starting TBN, I'm sure there were those who felt that money should have been spent serving soups for the poor.Today that singular venture is in territories where you and I could never reach.
Even in areas where preaching the gospel could mean beheadings.TBN is there.

Let's not be quick to judge.
There is a time and place for everything.

I did not say you did.

The thread is about the argument gonig on about whether it is morally and ethically right for a pastor to purchase a $20 million jet given the state of Nigeria and Nigerians.
What does the state of Nigeria have to do with what a pastor does and does not do in his Church?
Is Nigeria governed by the church?
Christianity EtcRe: Re: Adeboye Shops For $20m Jet (Locked) by Queenisha: 1:03am On Jul 21, 2008
I have never been a member of RCCG.
Have only worshipped as a guest about twice in one of their chapters here in the US.
I love my pastor,I see him as my spiritual head in the Church and I listen to his counsel and advise that doesn't mean I worship him.
I believe that God has given him authority over me in the Church and I respect him and his wife.

Giving your pastor the dedication you should give to God, is worship. undecided
agreed but what proof do you have that this is what goes on in RCCG.
Jesus of Oyingbo and the others you mention called themselves Messiahs and saviours and demanded worship.
What proof do you have that this is what obtains here?
Does loving and respecting one's pastor translate to worship?

Any thing your pastor tells you that runs contrary to the Bible is wrong.
That is the standard.

Not necessarily true, Most of them were educated girls, from great homes with excellent jobs, I do agree with you that low or no self esteem played a
major role. One thing I have learnt in life is that low self esteem is a respector of no one, Has nothing to do with your social class at all.

I just don't understand men, One day, maybe in my next life, I would want to come back as a man so i can get into their pea brain to see and experience all that goes on there,
Are you telling there were girls lined up behind a man's house,e ducated girls with good well paying jobs lined up and waiting for a turn with Mr Lennox each one knowing what the other was waiting for?
