long story short- you can protest regardless of your immigration status. your unlikely to be checked for your status unless u are doing something unlawful

i must point out those being picked up at stratford station were probably travelling without a valid ticket. over courageous if u ask me

so once again dont be discouraged by bad belle people trying to make u feel bad, u can live life to the fullest without papers, so long as u stay out of trouble!
These same 'slaves' abroad sent a whooping $9bn into the Nigerian economy in 2011 alone. Your GEJ puppet government could not invest such an amount in infrastructure in Nigeria through 2011! So much for your 'Education' in Nigeria, huh
^^ seriously? wao!

just through money transfer?

it's ironic that fuel and transportation cost went up in UK this year and no one is protesting about that.

I wonder what the general Uk public would think of Nigerians on this move.
seriously? u ever heard of inflation dude?

Politics › Re: What GEJ Should Have Done On Fuel Subsidy by queensmith: 12:05pm On Jan 06, 2012
Removing the subsidy the way he did was needed to avoid hoarding and false scarcity. Theres no way to 'prepare' people for such.

But IMO he should have started by borrowing a fraction of the money that was guaranteed to saved from the subsidy removal and investing it to demonstrate exactly what intentions he has for it.

At least if the had began a capital project with the borrowed money- its easier to tell the people the need to raise money to complete it.

Just like when Fashola had proven what taxes were going towards. Rather than take all the money, make the people suffer and the only improvement they see in the infrastructure is those they have dreamed!

londoner:
Monkeyleg, I agree. Johnathan went about it in the wrong way. He needed to demonstrate that he is really committed to stopping unnecessary spending.

He should have started with the political class first. Even if it was a few weeks before this. Its insincere for him to have gone for this bold move which affects the common man/woman before curbing the excesses of the political machine.

That was wrong.

However, if Nigerians can look at this as an opportunity to at least try and force the government to introduce those measures then we can say there would be a lasting benefit of his mistake to Nigerians.
Londoner- there is nothing to suggest he has any intentions of curbing the gov.t spend at all?

I honestly dont think they have good intentions at all- The nigerian gov.t hasnt been able to demonstrate sensible investments. Theyve only shown all round incomptency regarding industry regulations.

I dont know why soo many are putting blind faith in this man when he's clearly showing us he's driving nigeria nowhere but down the drain  undecided undecided
Politics › Re: An Open Letter To Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi by queensmith: 1:45pm On Jan 05, 2012
the worst of it all, what really rubs salt into the wounds and pepper into the eyes is the fact that Nigeria is a child of a country!

where and when on earth did it get 'owners'!

thats why i buy into the consipiracy that the british meant for things to be soo backward at thier own advantage!

being able to refine and sell fuel back to the crude oil suppliers is afterall only to thier own advantage!
Romance › Re: How Much Did You Spend On Your Wedding? by queensmith: 10:06pm On Jan 04, 2012
in ldn- cheapin out on most but still spending on some a typical yoruba owambe wedding will cost you 30k upwards, for 500+ guests.

if your smart you can have a luxury wedding for the same or less, £99 per head and everything else is taken care of.

Im not familiar with how things are in naija- but if u can afford it and it means soo much to you. I think £20k should be sufficient
Romance › Re: How Much Did You Spend On Your Wedding? by queensmith: 6:01pm On Jan 04, 2012
lol yes, but the jesus christ weddings barely cost £50k!

my friend is a lecture and shes protesting

some others work nearby and might join

i work far away but ill leave early to be there

you might not agree with the cause or beleive in protesting but that doesnt make u in anyway superior? It just means u dont deserve to reap the freedom protestors have fought to bring to you.
You will be surprised at the number of sacrifices people have made only for you to come and run your mouth like a slowpoke! hmph!

Politics › Re: Still On The The Fuel Subsidy: Will NNPC Sell Locally Refined PMS For N141 by queensmith: 3:39pm On Jan 04, 2012
they should in all fairness shouldt they?
everyone cant benefit from the reduced price if not.

Otherwise the price difference should be deducted from the overall consumer cost.

Which will still result in the gov.t having to subsidise the petrol to some extent. and its quite clear they dont want to do that? huh
Politics › Re: Nigerians In The Uk Cleared For Fuel Subsidy Protest On Friday 6th by queensmith: 3:20pm On Jan 04, 2012
^^ seriously? or is that just a joke?

i doubt even the queen spends that on maintaining buckingham friggin palace!

I dont get it? If the gov.t are deregulating the oil sector then what is thier business with investing in refineries?

I dont get how that works? deregulation yet the govt will continue to pay for the refineries?

None of thier stories add up.

i dont have advice- i have questions

what are u doing to get a celebrity besides maintaining your figure? do you personally know any celebs?

what do you do for a living? is it celebrity orientated?

you have alot more to worry about than your aunts and moms marriage age!

ok i lied i do have advice- girl, dont give 2 f**ks what small minded people might tell you. Most destined to be poor.
its all about knowing what you want and doing what you must to get it!
Politics › Re: Breaking News: Fuel Subsidy Removed by queensmith: 6:14pm On Jan 03, 2012
nice Ade uve made too much sense.

im guessing its easier to just remove the subsidy and steal the money rather than audit corroption against several sectors.

Im not neccasarily against the subsidy removal, its just that i know very well the money isnt going to be saved or put back into th ecapital spend. its going to be stolen, eaten, used to buy houses in kent, and for the residents of aso rock to eat expensive stock fish. its all too painful for nigerians to be cheated excessively!
