Christianity EtcRe: Is Money Ritual A Myth Or True? by queensmith: 8:16pm On Nov 06, 2012
What has always baffled me is this - How come the people who you go meet to do this money ritual for you are living in the absolute worst conditions...Mud homes, rageddy clothes, malnourished, dirty children etc. If that isn't a sure fire sign that something ain't right with the entire thing, I don't know what is.
apparently they cant do the job on themselves. . . .if only the same could be said of pastors nowadays. . . .

FamilyRe: Does Your Family Eat Together With Housemaid by queensmith: 4:48pm On Nov 03, 2012
pDude: To start with, how many Nigerian families actually sit together on the dinning table at the same time and eat together at the same time?

You have been watching too much Nollywood cheesy
pdude has answered the question. nigerian families don't tend to eat together. everyone just throws themselves down in any position to eat. including the housemaid or whoever has cooked the food, if he/she isn't busy cleaning up in the kitchen.
CelebritiesRe: Don Jazzy Disses Freeze Of Cool FM by queensmith: 10:13am On Nov 03, 2012
its unprofessional for artists and entertainment executives to engage in fights on social networks, this might be an attempt at some publicity but these artists are getting a little carried away with themselves now.
Posting checks, retweeting inappropriate tweets even lying. They need to stop, shouldn't the focus be on their music and not these petty arguments? When they are supposed to use these sites to clarify details they dont, instead they resort to foolish tactics to keep media outlets guessing. Abeg.

esp the rihanna nonsense. she has put me off following celebrities at all, most of them are absolutely clueless anyway.
CelebritiesRe: MajelaZeZeDiamond Accuses Dbanj Of Stealing Her Idea by queensmith: 10:07am On Nov 03, 2012

FamilyRe: Is Low Self Esteem A Result Of Parental Upbringing Or Personality? by queensmith: 10:06am On Nov 03, 2012
The people who raise you have 90% influence on your self esteem. I have an over inflated view of myself because my parents constantly reminded me of how beautiful smart and special I am. grin grin grin Whether that was good or bad we will soon find out!

I think low self esteem has an impact on personality not the other way round. At the same time the personality you have can cause you to make judgements about yourself and may affect your esteem (i wish i was confident, because i'm not confident i cant. . . ) and so on and so forth. But like the egg before the chicken I think the most important influence is your environment. So even if you have an alternative personality your environment is responsible for nurturing you positively for a better sense of self.

CrimeRe: Onitsha Car Dealer Killed By Robbers by queensmith: 10:01am On Oct 31, 2012
I feel there's a relationship between the Arab spring and the increased gun crime in Nigeria, where do these weapons end up when the revolutions are over? Since there is a history of Arab countries supplying arms to criminals in Nigeria this is something Nigerian intelligence should be investigating.

where are these criminals getting their guns?

CelebritiesRe: Pictures and Video From Flavour's Night Club Launch In Enugu by queensmith: 8:21am On Oct 28, 2012
its nice to see how trends catch on in Nigeria. It's looking like a great place to invest if you have the cash. But since night life is seemingly growing it might not be the best for long term investments since we dont know how the governments will react when the night activities start to upset people?

It might take a while before there is any problem in Enugu but I fear for most of the clubs in Lagos.
CelebritiesRe: Psquare, Aki & Pawpaw & Bracket Duo In A Private Jet Meeting by queensmith: 8:14am On Oct 28, 2012
stshakes: Nairaland na real comedy club... See as we siddon here dey argue people money and they probably siddon for the jet dey laugh as we dey yab ourselves.... Lol. Anyways I go talk on 3 things.

1. The guy that says Naija Artists put together ain't worth $50Million ( abt N9 Billon). You really need to get out of your ignorance. It might interest you that Just Wizkid raked on almost 3billion for EME in the last year in excess of World Tours, Endorsements, Album Sales, Royalties, Awards etc. Remember he got an International PEPSI endorsement within this period. Go figure the amt that came with that. U never talk of Tubaba, D'banj, Don Jazzy, J-Martins, even this same bracket wey start yesterday. Be careful what you say in public.

2. On this Jet issue. P-Square don't OWN a private jet. Rather they have an arrangement with a Jet company. Now the deal is, for every international show, every promoter must meet the condition of paying that Jet Coy to fly them to the place as part of the general criteria for them coming to perform. I think it takes confidence in their art for them to do that.

3. on the actual worth of P-square, I can't give you the exact figures but those boys can buy a private jet if they want to. But they are wise enough to know they don't need it, at least not yet. There are private jets that go for as low as N2.5Million. P- Square apart from Music got investments. In fact they invest more than they spend, real estate especially. So those of you expecting them to come beg you for food in ten years... Sorry that won't happen. Those boys get BAR die. You need to see their new crib nearing completion in Ikoyi. Its something like the house on 50 Cents candy shop video with its own underground club. If you have had the opportunity to visit Squareville in Omole, its a joke compared to this new crib. Those boys are living their life and reaping the fruits of almost 10yrs active effort in the Nigerian music industry and deserve to enjoy their money. Abi na u wan spend am for them when they are gone?

I don talk my own finish. And please no ask me how I know all these details... Let's just say am a guy that knows a lot of these celebs.
you lost credibility when you said p square can buy a private jet, thats bs- most international artists cant afford private jets (even after being rumored to make $80million a year) and no you cannot find a private jet anywhere for the cost of a used 08 toyota car, you are chatting absolute and complete bs. If jets were going for 2million the world will have one. damn i'll probably even have 2!

Foreign AffairsRe: Ex-Italian PM Berlusconi Sentenced To 4yrs In Jail For Tax Fraud by queensmith: 10:11pm On Oct 26, 2012
wonder how many austerity measures he took to reduce debt in his time, all the while even he didnt want to pay any tax. This should be a lesson to voting nations, we need to vote for those whose experiences closely match ours. If the current parties don't provide it we create new ones, we are not meant to bend to politics, the government is supposed to be by us as well as for us.
RomanceRe: Self-esteem And Confidence by queensmith: 4:24pm On Oct 22, 2012
thanks guys! @esp queensmith
I was just having a very very bad day then.
It didn't help that I had about 5 copies of vogue magazine laying on and around my bedside. Way to depress by bloated self at the moment. Of course my period came a few days later. LOL
i hear psychologies is a good magazine. I hear you on the this stuff! Alot of women share these issues, it's important to talk about them, don't hesitate to email me if you feel this way again its something I love to do!

Also there are some awesome books that might make a decent replacement for these magazines if you are interested in social studies, the beauty myth might give you better perspective on things.
FashionRe: Can You Buy N63,900 Sunglasses? by queensmith: 8:12pm On Oct 20, 2012
You have asked a brilliant question, that i've been talking about for years- what on earth will make a pair of sunglasses WORTH £300?

There special brain enhancing laser power in it? That makes you more intelligent when you wear it? Nonsense, thats how my friend was talking about buying £1000 pair of glasses- said it was plated with gold, not even real gold people are ridiculous. I will NEVER pay more than £3 (750naira) for a pair of sunglasses, even if i was a bazigillionaire!! nonsense!
Car TalkRe: Elite Cars Repopulate Nigerian Streets As Economy Booms by queensmith: 5:18pm On Oct 20, 2012
*sigh* a complete slowpoke will see this and then go on to say 'there are millions of rich people in Nigeria'. . . . . *sigh* Working in finance back home must be hell, you will probably only ever be presented with assumptions, soo much for risk assessments.

as for the statement about the economy, erm is the economy dependant on one persons compound? Because it looks like all those cars are in the same place 'im jussayin' if booming economy means a fleet of cars in a shop, then London is falling, there is no food on my table grin grin grin

CelebritiesRe: Men Who Have Been Romantically Involved With Bisi Ibidapo-Obe by queensmith: 4:54pm On Oct 20, 2012
paris10: To all the guys and ladies dissing this lovely lady: It is high time you started asking your man/lady how many people they have had romantic relationship with. You'd be amazed and totally flabbergasted. Your guy/lady is the most dirtiest pig out there! They are in no way better than this lady. Just because they ain't no celebrity doesn't make them any saint. Infact, she might even be better in bed than these judas's you call your lovers.

Bisi or whatever her name is has been unsuccessful with men. I guess men took advantage of her beauty. Likewise, she's gained a lot from them, irrespective of them sleeping with her. This is what I've always preached, always follow the 90 days rule, it will save you from unnecessary embarrassment.
its not as if the newspaper article is publishing the date and times she met and slept with the men. the 90 day rule is absolute hogwash, it's hogwash used to fill the heads of insecure women with ideas that they are the problem. no the problem is not that you have sex before 90 days, the problem is you are having sex with the wrong man, a man is wrong whether or not you wait 90 days to sleep with him!
CelebritiesRe: Men Who Have Been Romantically Involved With Bisi Ibidapo-Obe by queensmith: 3:10pm On Oct 20, 2012
this is a disgusting and disrespectful article. so what was the point of this nonsense? is this all they have time for in Nigeria now? this is utter and total nonsense. i hope she sues them
IslamRe: 15 Nigerian Pilgrims Die In Saudi Arabia by queensmith: 11:37am On Oct 20, 2012
People die on these journeys, I guess it's a risk they are willing to take.

They are probably dying from some disease they caught there- I hope they investigate before other pilgrims return to Nigeria with such diseases. Now that will be a catastrophe, it's one thing to risk your life going on a spiritual venture, its another thing to risk the lives of others who didn't.
CrimeRe: Another Girl Stripped For Stealing BB In Lagos OCTOBER 5 2012 by queensmith: 1:18pm On Oct 19, 2012
This didn't happen in Nigeria this happened in ghana, I doubt they will allow this to happen in naija. . . . esp on a student campus, women will automatically defend the girl.

They have to have an incredibly extreme culture for men to do this to a woman because she stole a phone, though the Aluu 4 situation proved alot of cultures are animals, I don't think this can happen in most Nigerian cultures, they won't allow men to sexually assault her like that.
Music/RadioRe: Tonto's Reply To Critics Of HI & ITZOVA - I have Achieved My Aim by queensmith: 1:14pm On Oct 19, 2012
duh. children are born with down syndrome. I never mentioned anywhere that it wasn't. the risk of a child having development problems or down syndrome is higher if birthed by aging parents.
they can also develop some of these things after birth. ex schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, aspergers, autism etc

first of all, paternity test is needed
second of all, that poor child will soon become an orphan
third of all, the poor child is at risk of developmental problems (down syndrome, mental retardation etc) due to the low quality of the s.perm.
how is a born child without downs syndrome at risk of down syndrome? Check yourself.
