Has to be the silliest thing i've ever heard? is your sister in high school. Besides the money you can save by carpooling, lunch expenses the rest, she will get to see her fiance even more making for a stronger relationship.

some people just like to create drama. tell her to turn the job offer down for someone that knows how to take things seriously. If she's contemplating over such a trivial matter I don't think any employers investment on her is worthwhile.

coogar: how many women love the men they married? it seems you don't stay on this planet.
women often marry the men who are ready to take them to the altar. sometimes
the men women love are not ready for marriage when the woman is ready.
Right, since love is subjective lets put that to one side.

Whether or not these people believe they are in love, it makes sense to assume they will have a substantial amount of compassion and affection for the person they want to marry. It is also safe to believe most consult with themselves to make sure the relationship is a viable one. If you are saying this isn't the case in reality then i'd say most people are stupid.
Whether or not most people get married for love, those with sense will reason well enough, only a thoughtless idiot will marry someone she has no feelings for, an even more senseless slowpoke will have children with him.

coogar: i was attacking your comment...you said the woman shouldn't
have had a baby by the man she does not love. so if you don't
love a man and you get pregnant for him, you abort it?
i mean - does that make any sense to you?
actually it does- sounds like a very good reason.

I assumed they had a problem before they got married- hence the 'why marry a man you do not love' commment.

coogar: you are right, she should have aborted them!!
may 2012, you still reason like someone born in the 15th century.
what the hell are you on about?
Family › Re: Why Are Women Their Own Worst Enemies? by queensmith: 1:41pm On May 22, 2012
stillwater: I have a differing view. Most of the time women who are referred to as bitches or whores are indeed bitches or whores or show the traits of being one. People would not call a woman names just because they want to. I have more female acquaintances than male, from my experience the females that scream the loudest on issues like this or preferring male friends than females are the bitchiest, nastiest sets of human beings on planet earth.

It is impossible for a woman of good character to always be dragged in such mudslinging. If the woman consistently finds herself in such, then the problem is the woman herself.
This point further proves the case, women embracing derogatory connotations, jumping up and down when a rapper says 'shake it bit**' embracing environments that openly disrespect you and your nature.

Sexualizing you and then punishing you at the same time, edifying porn stars and devaluing women that have sex. It's a vicious cycle that women perpetuate. At this point I have to add that black women do not make the situation any better. After all they are the ones embracing this disrespectful culture, seeking solace in the sort of attention that holds no dignity.
Family › Re: Why Are Women Their Own Worst Enemies? by queensmith: 1:29pm On May 22, 2012
It's quite simple really - women look to men for validation and they will do anything to get it even if it means destroying their fellow (wo)man.

Yep, they join the men to attack their other women because a woman who isn't in favor with men is automatically out of the competition. Unfortunately the men know this and use it all the time to pit women against one another. A few words of praise here, A good job tap on the head there and the woman on the receiving end of their praises starts to preen (she has received her Queen Bee Badge)and is ready to do more of their bidding.
soo true

Women embracing ideologies and religion originating from misogynistic men. I don't understand why a woman will embrace being mutilated, why older women feel the need to attack younger ones because of their perverted husbands, why a woman will raise her child to believe men are superior, why they will condition their females to sit and slave in the kitchen. It's all soo ridiculous.

what happens when the world and earth beg you to do things you don't want to do? 10 years of a loveless marriage.

'beg him' 'pet him' 'pretend to him' at the end of the day our thoughts and emotions cannot be dictated by the outside world. Only we can decide what to feel inside.
How you can have children with a man you do not love or even decide to marry him is absolutely beyond me, imo you deserve this, simply because you didn't respect yourself enough to walk away when you knew you should have.
It may just be you are the type of person who cannot let things go, in that case I advise you to seek therapy, you have to learn to forgive and forget. Experience is only to make us wiser, not to gain enemies, especially not making your husband one.

you are not responsible- the guy is simply sowing what he reaped. He is not a good man, how did you expect him to have a good future. Trust me if the curses of broken hearted girls meant anything there will be no men left in this world. Forget about him and move on with your life.

Why you will decide to preside over a country that you think is in the wrong direction with no viable solutions is beyond me. The man is self confessed incompetent, why he doesn't just step down and hand the post over to someone else is simply because he is too busy stealing money.
Not only is he stealing bantu bantu amounts of money, he is sitting down and telling us the state of the country is hopeless.
The man is a shameless coward and this is the day I fully realise that, it's a shame he was voted in, its even more shameless that he can sit down and tell nigerians this rubbish and all we can do is listen.
Well done to him, being able to bulsh*t 150million people just became an easy task.

ezicat: I was about to say Nigerians can be so toxic (although most (in the South) claim to be Christian (Jesus would be so proud)); thank Goodness some of the latest responses are more constructive. Truth be told, from what I've seen most Nigerian men seem to have a sense of entitlement when it comes to marriage - they expect to be the boss while having all their needs taking care of. And, apparently, most Nigerian women expect to be completely dependent financially on the man. It doesn't make for good relationships overall - perhaps that's what you're observing.

Yet there is that pressure, especially on women to marry. Which doesn't leave a lot of room to find Mr. Right (the person who compliments you best), repeating the generational cycle. I feel you. Stick to your guns - don't sell out. In the meanwhile, attempt to establish yourself financially and independently.

And here is thinking outside the box: is it possible to set up a singles discussion group in your area? Who knows, you might find like minded people i.e. people willing to discuss controversial issues openly, and it could be profitable. Good luck.
soo true!
Family › Re: Marriage Is A Bondage by queensmith: 8:04am On May 20, 2012
LOL if you have assumed marriage is a bondage, how do you expect the married women of nairaland to confirm that? Suffer and smiley women? They will tell you want you want to hear like they tell themselves they are in love. and that love conquers all 'poverty' 'joblessness' 'abusive husbands' 'nosey families'
I think it is the men that are gold diggers. imagine 25 yr old guys marrying wrinkled 70yr old oyinbo women without shame.
at least it looks semi-ok for a girl to do it. but when a man stoops that low it means something is terribly gone wrong. lol
The men are disgusting, i'm sure they have sex with those women. They probably even act as sex slaves, lawd almighty I know they have been sending photos of themselves naked to these old massive wrinkly women- women that obviously have no money! A woman with money can not look like a man like that!

love4ual: first as a puerto rican,....he is automatically a us citizen so uche is marrying an american par-se,
secondly i think uche jombo knows what exactly she is doing?, marriage afterall with nigerian men may not work for her and besides........i think her main aim is to have a mixed child,........to hell with marriage once she can have a mullato child which would have been impossible for her if she marries nija.......
when she gives birth,...the same people criticizing her would celebrate her and she knows........

I didnt know that! thought they were like mexicansorand under spain, o my knowledge of history is flawed!

and are you in this womans head to know her aims and life goals? How did you get all this from one photo? chineke! naija people can kill!
