The smallest country to play in the World Cup Croatia were rightly praised for getting to the final against the odds. Many people commented on the fact that a nation of just 4.1 million people was so successful. But Croatia were by no means the smallest nation in the competition - that record goes to Iceland, with a population of just 330,000. To put it another way, you could fit the entire population of Iceland into all of the host stadiums in Russia - and have about 250,000 seats to spare.

The World Cup may already seem like a distant memory. Attention has already turned back to Premier League transfer gossip or Champions League qualification (we're guessing in France they're still celebrating). But there are some players and nations who will have their names down in the history books for other reasons. Guinness World Records has released a list of the teams and players who broke records this summer in Russia. Here are some of our favourites. The oldest player to score a hat-trick World Cup 2018: Portugal 3-3 Spain We were treated to one of the best games of the tournament very early on. Cast your mind back to day two, when Spain played Portugal. Spain were three minutes from winning their opening game when Cristiano Ronaldo stepped up with one of the goals of the tournament. Not only did his free kick earn Portugal a point, it gave him a hat-trick - making the 33-year-old the oldest player to score one in a World Cup.

A televangelist has called on his followers to buy him a $54m (£40m) private jet because "if Jesus was on Earth today he wouldn't be riding a donkey". Jesse Duplantis used his regular "This week with Jesse" broadcast to claim that God had told him to acquire the Falcon 7X. The evangelist is the face of "Jesse Duplantis Ministries", which according to its website has been operating for at least 40 years. Mr Duplantis explained that he already has a plane that he purchased in 2006, but it doesn't let him fly around the world in "one stop". The American preacher told his viewers: "We're believing in God for a brand new Falcon 7X so we can go anywhere in the world in one stop." Mr Duplantis then explained the new plane, which can carry eight passengers and three crew, meant he wouldn't have to "pay those exorbitant prices for jet fuel all over the world". The televangelist suggested to his viewers that they "become a partner" to help him purchase the Falcon 7X jet, with a page on his website encouraging people to donate up to $1,000 to his ministry. His site claimed that partners "sow financial seeds into the good soil of JDM to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world". In a statement during his broadcast, Mr Duplantis claimed God told him directly to acquire a Falcon 7X. He said: "In one of the greatest statements the Lord ever told me, he said 'Jesse you want to come up where I'm at?" "I said 'what do you mean?' He said 'Before you ask I'll answer'." Mr Duplantis continued: "I want you to believe in me for a Falcon 7X. "I said 'OK' but the first thing I thought of is how am I going to pay for it, and then a great statement that he told me in 1978 flooded into my mind. "He said 'Jesse, I didn't ask you to pay for it, I asked you believe for it'." Mr Duplantis added: "I'm not interested in learning to fly it, I'm interested in preaching the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. "I really believe that if Jesus was on the Earth today he wouldn't be riding a donkey." Earlier in his broadcast the evangelist reflected on his history of private jet ownership, revealing he purchased his first plane in 1994. He bought his second aircraft in 2004 and his third in 2006. Dassault, who makes the three-engine Falcon 7X, describe it as "the benchmark for the 21st century business jet". The planes cost $54m according to the SherpaReport, which provides news and analysis on the private jet industry. https://news.sky.com/story/televangelist-asks-followers-to-buy-him-a-54m-jet-11390216 |

James Harrison has retired after saving the lives of more than 2.4 million babies by donating his blood over the past 60 years. The "man with the golden arm", as he has been dubbed, told The Sydney Morning Herald that his retirement was "a sad day" and "the end of a lung run". Mr Harrison's blood contains an extremely rare antibody in his plasma which is used to develop medicine to prevent newborns from dying from Rhesus disease. The medicine, anti-D, is given to pregnant mothers whose rhesus negative blood is at risk of attacking her baby's rhesus positive blood. At 81 years of age, Mr Harrison has made his 1,173rd and final donation - meaning he has provided more than a thousand bags full of his life-saving blood. He holds the Guinness World Record for the number of donations made, and the Australian Red Cross Blood Service said: "His kindness leaves a remarkable legacy, and he has put the challenge out to the Australian community to beat it." In 1999, Mr Harrison received the Medal of the Order of Australia for his "incredible and ongoing support of the blood service and anti-D programme", the organisation stated. He is one of only 50 people in Australia believed to have these antibodies in their blood. "I hope it's a record that somebody breaks, because it will mean they are dedicated to the cause," Mr Harrison said. The super donor began donating blood after he underwent major chest surgery at just 14 years old and depended on the blood of strangers to save his life. Over a decade after he started donating blood, it was discovered that his contained the vital antibody needed to make the anti-D medicine. Mr Harrison was happy to continue to donate and switched from plain blood to plasma donations in order to help as many people as possible. He has now passed the age-limit in Australia to continue giving blood, although he says he would do so if they would let him. https://news.sky.com/story/australian-blood-donor-retires-after-saving-24-million-babies-11369311 |

A young woman nicknamed Serenity Elara, who is a fan of the Japanese anime "Sailor Moon," reveals just how much effort she puts into looking exactly like her favorite cartoon character. Serenity Elara, a Kiev resident fond of Japanese cartoons, spends about an hour per day to look exactly like her favorite hero Usagi Tsukino, Daily Mail reported . "Usagi is the first character who inspired me to get into cosplay. Without this passion, my life would probably be empty and monotonous, like everyone else's," the young woman told the media outlet. Not only does Elara put on a special bright make-up to look like her icon, she also dresses up like Usagi and designs all of her outfits by herself. https://sputniknews.com/viral/201804091063376610-ukrainian-living-doll-anime/
