InvestmentRe: Stock Market Horror: by question(m): 6:30am On Oct 25, 2011
You are not alone. Lots of Nigerians home and abroad lost their hard earned savings or ill-gotten wealth on the NSE disaster.
Just brace yourself and start afresh.
If you need the remaining money or have a better investment plan, then sell off all the stock and move on.
Or you can just count it as an expensive learning curve, forget the stocks and go for better investments such as real estate.

I suggest you sell all the stocks and buy a piece of land somewhere if possible. The value of the land will never depreciate.

Also know that there is risk in every investment.

People, please cool your temper.
As you may have noticed Nexthome and his client have not posted on this thread since the last one week. That shows they are sorting out the issue behind the scene as they have both mentioned.

So no need making cynical comments about the builder or trying to add insult upon injury.

Some Nigerian builders are worse off. They will not even apologize or have any remorse,  The shabby or uncompleted and abandoned projects all over the country is an evidence to this

If you have someone that works in NLNG, he/she could help you book a sit on their coy boat
If you don't have anyone in NLNG, just go to the jetty in Creek Road market, Port Harcourt and enter the scary 1hr boat ride to bonny island.

People, have you ever chased a stubborn rat and finally caught and killed it?. Thats the same feeling the Libyan NTC have now.

Gaddafi overstayed his welcome (42 donkey years) but he did not want to leave. Hence, why he was disgraced to death. Though he had supporters.
Mubarak overstayed also ,  but he left when the ovation was loud.
Ben Ali ran when no one pursued him,

Hope 'Arab Spring' attention will shift to Syria or Yemen or Bahrain.

grin grin grin grin grin grin knowing my husband, if i were to tell him to come help wipe my bum, he will tell me that it wasn't in the marriage contract. He has been very supportive though and even now that I'm off bed rest and back to work, he still wants to keep helping with  the cooking and cleaning. The only thing he has a problem with is the no se.x ban which our doctor has put in place until 10 weeks of gestation.  The thing dey vex am no be small  grin ,  as for me, I'm enjoying the hiatus while it lasts  grin grin
If i were him, I would ban myself for the next 12 months. The joy of being a father is far greater than that 5 mins of ecstasy. he should set his priorities right.

Update: Today is day 2 since the retrieval and the clinic called (they are required to call the patient every morning with an update) and the "embies" are doing well and dividing normally like they should. Tomorrow when I get my update call, i will be told the exact day the embies will be tranferred back to my uterus to continue thier 9 month journey grin and how many will be transferred.
I started a whole bunch of medication today to prepare my uterus for the upcoming tranfer. I pray everything goes according to God's will.
Wishing you a BFP in a few weeks time and BBB or twins in 9 months time. God bless u.

@ Nexthome,  Pictures may be photoshopped but videos are more real.
It is not about renovating a house or starting a house from foundation. It is all about the finishing touches.
Either you are not using competent workmen or you are not supervising the competent ones and they leave the job to their apprentices/trainees.

The blue room looks a quite better than the red room. Were they done by the same workman?

As a Building Contractor Always Follow these Basic Principle (for any job you accept to do):
1. Have a clear definition of what you are need to do before you start.
2. Procure all the necessary materials required.
3. Employ competent workmen to optimally use the materials for the job.
4. SUPERVISE AND SUPERVISE AND SUPERVISE. Shine your eyes and always give feedback to your client. (Communication is very important)
5. Finish the job to Perfection, as you promised.

If you cannot use these 5 basic principles, then be ready to take whatever you see from your dissatisfied client.
Also remember your reputation cos that's what keeps bringing new clients.

Goodluck.

Yeah! But now I just confirm it has crashed to 161.5
hm mm - Interesting!!!
Two sides of a coin.
Some Nigerian folks want the exchange rate to get to N200 per $ cos they earn in $$$.
While some want it to crash and keep crashing to N100 per $ or below cos they spend in $$$.

BusinessRe: Naira Hits All-Time Low Against The US Dollar by question(m): 2:59pm On Oct 07, 2011
Mr--Why:
The problem with some people on Nairaland is that they take serious issues for granted. Instead of analyzing issues objectively and in depth. They engage in vague criticism and character assassination. Even though, overspending wasn't mentioned in the article, it is one of the factors that affects the subject matter in the article.

There is a fundamental problem with our economy. Nigeria gets her foreign exchange mostly by selling oil in the international markets and remittance from Nigerians in Diaspora and to some extent Yahoo!Yahoo! boys(unjustifiable). It is very apparent that variations in supply and demand of crude products, which is the major source flow of foreign exchange into the country affects the national income. We import almost everything into this country. Importers and other international travelers scramble for the limited flow of hard currencies in circulation and that contributes to the fall of the naira and increase the prices of imported products.

Furthermore, Inflation increases, the value of your savings diminishes, wages remain stagnant, the common man suffers. CBN prints more money, thereby prompting the Government to overspend(which is what they know how to do best) without putting into consideration that inflation will hurt the lower strata of the society.

Does GED understand how the economy works? That is a question that needs to be addressed. I think he is under the control of people who are manipulating the economy.

This is day light robbery by our politicians. They do not need to point guns to our head to steal from us. All they need is initiate bad policies and milk us dry. The worst part is that a large segment of the Nigeria population don't understand basic economics and finance or are too cowardice to challenge the status quo.

Therefore, the suffering and smiling continues------Fela.
Correct analysis. This has been the nigerian modus operandi over the last 40 years.
You have broken it down to layman's language.

Christianity EtcWho Chooses Who? by question(op): 9:57am On Sep 29, 2011
Just a question regarding choosing a Church/Pastor?

Does your church or pastor or religion choose you?
or
Do you have an option of choosing your church or pastor or religion?

The reason I have this question is because:
1. You are born into a church/religion and it seems you have no choice of your own.
2. If you choose to be committed to a particular church or pastor based on some subjective reasons and over time, the church/pastors values and principles change, do you have a choice to leave that pastor/church? Even if you know very well that you are being led astray?

Lets watch and see what will happen after this PUBLIC apology.
This could be a great Nollywood Movie script.

^^^^With Novak having beat Nadal 4 times this year, hmmm, the match would be really interesting!
Those 4 times where 3 set-matches. See below.

03/20/2011 Masters Series Indian Wells ( Tennis Hard Court ) R. Nadal - N. Djokovic 1 : 2 (6 : 4) (3 : 6) (2 : 6)
04/03/2011 SE Open Masters Series Miami ( Tennis Hard Court ) R. Nadal - N. Djokovic 1 : 2 (6 : 4) (3 : 6) (6 : 7)
05/08/2011 Masters Series Madrid ( Tennis Clay Court ) R. Nadal - N. Djokovic 0 : 2 (5 : 7) (4 : 6)
05/15/2011 Masters Series Rome ( Tennis Clay Court ) R. Nadal - N. Djokovic 0 : 2 (4 : 6) (4 : 6)

Novak is good at 3 set matches, but for 5 setters (grand slams) he runs out of stamina after the 4th set. Nadal knows this as Novak's main weak point.

I love the 2 guys though. They both have that fighting spirit that keeps us at the edge of our seats.
Best of luck to them on Sunday,
