I remember sometimes back in Ogbomosho when under g wasn't so developed... We barely always take a hike in the forest and we got free meat from hunting, free fruit like Mango and Cashew in the wild, wild growing cocoyam and potatoes

Clean fresh water is everywhere , infact if you are a miner you might get lucky in the woods mining Gold and other solid minerals even without skills, just follow them dig and make money
