Without checking Google, few Nigerians can say who APC or Labour Party chairmen are. That's because it's an administrative position only relevant for members of the party.

Secondus was from the South. Wike ousted him. Now he wants to oust Ayu but party members are resisting.

If he doesn't feel the party is taking his grievances seriously, he's free to decamp. They've called his bluff, so he should either do his worst or shut up and fall in line.

Atiku will do a turn around when the South unites against him. The South are bidding for time. If he wants to win the NWC should go. No sacrifice is too big to gain the presidency. The South are United in their quest. The South may wake up in January 2023 and take sides with Asiwaju or Obi, then his eyes will be clear.

How will PDP party chairman or NWC benefit the south? Nobody cared about this until Wike started making noise after losing primaries.

With this, it is safe to say a councillor has 31 votes, now compare that to how many votes Wike has, he can influence some LG chairmen/Kings/ councillors, governors, Assembly members, top politicians etc who can influence their subjects.

You know how we like to take sides in Nigeria? Things like Messi vs CR7, Wizkid vs Davido, Man U vs Chelsea?

In Rivers State, PDP vs APC is one of those divisions, way stronger than any other part of Nigeria. People have actually been killed just for supporting the other party.

Mention that you're an APC supporter in some parts of the state, and people will spit at you. Mainly because they feel Amaechi betrayed the South by working against Jonathan.

Now imagine Wike coming to tell these kind of people to vote APC. Or directing boys that have been rigging elections for PDP since 1999 to now go and rig for APC.

For Wike's defection to be effective, he needs to defect with the entire PDP machinery in Rivers State. And I can't see that happening.

Besides how can Wike direct them to deliver victory for a PDP gubernatorial candidate but support APC for presidential elections?

I got a used inverter AC from a vendor that required topping up. The technician that installed it collected 7k. But the AC isn't cooling.

I've just called another technician to look and he's quoting 15k for gas alone.

At this point, I'm thinking of just returning the AC and buying a new one.

Exactly this. Never mention a figure first because you'll either price yourself out (if your figure is too high) or you'll leave money on the table (if it's too low).

Mentioning a range unfortunately also has the same effect, as you'll anchor the negotiation to the lower bound. The employer knows that's the minimum they can pay you to accept the job, so it's what they'll come back with.

You can say something like "I don't have an exact figure in mind, however I want this move to be a step forward for me in terms of responsibility and compensation. What salary range did you have in mind for this position?". When they respond, then you can negotiate from there.

That's what I always say and it's helped me a lot over my career. There are a few times I received an initial offer considerably greater than the amount I had in mind. That's money I'd have lost if I mentioned my figure first.

This makes no sense. The vast majority of generators we import are from China (petrol engines) and the UK (diesel engines). To both countries, generator exports are insignificant.

There's no conspiracy by the "west" to keep us in darkness – that one is our own fault.

Nobody is denying ancestry - Ikwerre originated from Igbo. But they're now a separate ethnic group.

This is similar to Eleme and Ogoni, or Efik and Ibibio.

Like I said in my previous comment, every tribe broke off from another one. That doesn't mean they can't form their own distinct ethnic identity. No Ikwerre man will refer to himself as Igbo, as Wike is continuously saying.

How can the Niger Delta "belong" to the Igbos, when Igbos themselves are a minority in that geographical area? Why not go and claim the middle belt too?

Ikwerri people are Igbos and at the right time this stupid politics that the ikwerri elders are playing for them to be regarded as separate ethnic group will stop. Every tribe has their roots from somewhere else, so the whole "Ikwerre is Igbo" argument is getting old. Even if IPOB want to claim Ikwerre land, what of the riverine areas and Ogoni? Are those also Igbo?

Rivers people aren't against Biafra. We just don't want any part of it, as we have our own struggle.

Amaechi is not blameless, but in this specific issue he's right.

He stole money, no doubt. But we at least benefited from his tenure. He built multiple schools in every LGA, sent students abroad, employed teachers and doctors, opened farms. He also built the same roads and flyovers Wike is making noise over.

Besides giving musicians and churches money, and enforcing Ogboni membership on Rivers politicians, what good has Wike done for Rivers State?

Teachers are not being paid, RSSDA is no more, no infrastructure has been developed outside PHC and Obio Akpor in the past 6 years. Commissioners are acting as houseboys, with one man running everything.

Objectively speaking, Amaechi was the better governor. He still needs to face justice for that monorail scam, but that's nowhere near what Wike has stolen from us.
