IKPOLIGA: Morning, my toyota rav 4 2001 model use to drag but i have changed the gear as advised by my gear mechanic but i am curious do i really need to change my brain box? Secondly, how do i remove the "check engine" indicator on my dash board?
Eddee: I spoke of the launching of the outfit sometime ago and provided invites to some persons who were interested. Name nor phone number wasn't hidden, have nothing to be worried about - most persons on cartalk are friends outside... Just disappointed he didn't use his main moniker to complain, wonder what assuage people derive creating wanton identities online.
osarodon: Do you do change of entire Automatic Transmission(Gear box 13pin) for Toyota camry 2005 v4 engine? If yes how long warranty does it come with.
Hello, we can change if you bring your own. We do not source parts locally. Understandably we cannot warranty third party parts. We do however rebuild yours where possible and THAT we can warranty.
Eddee: Nice, great to see you are a prequalified vendor, (which means if you were in Calabar, Uyo or even Makurdi the likes of UNHCR and UNFPA will likely piggyback on your Framework Agreement to repair this Diesel bad boys
eightsin: Update on this, mech said my oil pump failed and the engine is knocked although it still comes on. Last last, na another engine I buy today. Very painful spending money on things not budgeted for.
Please i need help with the end to end connections of the hoses (and vacuum hoses) behind the manifold or engine of a 3.0 Audi a4 quattro B6. After changing the timing belt, i can't remember the right position of most the hoses. Please help with pictures or videos.
franksam2009: I always change ATF on time to avoid the type of issue I'm facing now, all the gear masters I met today Don't know what a shift solenoid is, the one that manage to understand me said I should change valve body cause they Don't sell solenoids separately, and they all said nothing is wrong with the wires. I'm just down like this, sad and surprised cos my transmission has always been perfect and hv never given problem, just all of a sudden transmission was lifted and lower arm bushing replaced den boom!!! Po977 appeared car won't rev pass 2000 when on Drive, and won't engage the last gear,, but driving is still smooth and doesn't slip,. Other gears work well, I'm just scared driving it like this might kill the transmission and keep me stranded at night. My village people hv finally caught up and dealt with me seriously
Some might not but we consider most ac repair here a scam.
People have been conditioned to replace AC compressor and condenser. Most of the time that's not the issue! The truth is that the AC system is a vacuum and a lot of cooling issues are a result of LEAKS. Since most techs either cannot or will not locate the leak, they simply recommend replacing the whole system because that will eliminate the leak right?
And how much was it to find the problem? N17k for the freon with UV dye and labor. The evaporator core labor is only two hours (N10k) once he can get the part. Prado isn't made in US so we don't carry the parts unless they match another model.

HeavenlyBang: Not on Nigerian roads, sadly. At 180km/hr, you start feeling the bumps on the road. Maybe if I ever had the chance to do a run on those supposedly amazing Northern roads.
142mph before marriage (may or may not have involved a nitrous kit) 99 strategic mph regularly after
Let me preface what I'm about to say that anyone has a right to live where ever they want.
That being said, I take a slight offece at the constant blows being dealt to NIgeria and Nigerians that are left behind. Why don't people just go on with their life abroad? Why do they have to ridicule those that either choose to stay or unable to make the move?
A lot of us are coming back home. I came back home this year after being gone for 33 years. Nigeria, as you said, is a wonderful place to live in if you are structured. I could have retired anywhere in the world. But I prefer Nigeria and especially Ibadan. That I chose to move to Ibadan destabilized one frustrated oil monkey on here who said I moved backwards
TRYGO: That's a huge money been spent son fuel consumption here.
Here's a brief.
That sensor, measures the volume of oxygen in the system, and converts that in some sort of voltage values for the ECU to use in order to attained a set air/fuel ratio balance. If the ECU sees less oxygen in the system from the O2S, it would command an increase in the injector pulse width(prolonged fuel supply):rich system.
..
PS: Here's an appeal to car owners with code readers. Having a code reader read for trouble codes, does not equate to fixing a problem by replacing parts. Code readers are there to narrow down the likely areas where you need to troubleshoot.
Hope this gives you some succour.
Regards, Joseph
This should be a sticky. I'm usually too lazy to type this.
sultaan: . What will you say are the common faults you see that could be a routine maintenance item or the ones that result from real failure of parts or botched job of a previous mechanic.
You said you have seen a lot but can you rule out the fact that most users aware of the good job you are doing and genuine parts you sell make you a preferred shop for their baby
Issues run the gamut. There is no rhyme or reason to them hence the P.O.S. Designation
2. Very common and parts are available, if you want brand-new or tokunbo, it is available and it is the OEM not Chinese knockoff compared to the MDX and HL
3. The Ford edge is among the best alternative to a Lexus RX so it will easily compete well with an HL
4. It's resale value isn't the worst in the lineup compared to that MDX, the edge is a blessing
5. The 2.0T Ecoboost Engine is very common in Ford and Mazda vehicles so getting parts for it won't be a challenge, the 4cylinder ensures good fuel economy and the 240hp output won't have you coming last in a race.
6. The 6speed auto is fitted in several years of Ford and Lincoln vehicle, the transmission is made by GM a very reliable global brand.
7. The edge is a Ford, treat it well and you will have a edge over others.
8. If you are not convinced with my points after getting to no 8 then you obviously are thinking inside the box instead of outside the box.
NO SAH!
Ford edge is a piece of crap and is the most common car at our shop with all sorts of problems. 12 in under two weeks and they were all F'ed up. Ford sucks at anything under V8. They simply do not know how to make small cars and engines. Big engines they make some beasts. I'm not sure where to got your numbers but the MDX has a higher resale value. Yes, we carry the parts but my above to him is the Acura. The Toyota is too old.
thebigkendo: In Nigeria for the same price we will take a 96 Toyota over any other 2015 car because its a Toyota, parts are cheap, readily available and we don't need special mechanic to fix
