jidemoh: Then you didn't read my post well. Short of what i said:
1. Get a new radiator which is the advice 2. Observe the car for a period, which isn't out of place 3. It's up to him to decide to run his fan direct, which is subjective. That i did it does not mean he should.
nurey: 4runner may not fit the Prado because both have a different 4WD setup, also the 4runner has a V6 and V8 while the Prado doesn't offer a V8 Engine.
So depending on what trim of Prado comes into the workshop, the 4runner, FJ cruiser and GX Engine accessories may not fit, only a Prado fitted with the 1GR would make your work easy all those 4cylinder Prado you should be looking at Hilux or Hiace. I don't think Fortuner was offered in the US but you can beam your search light too on Tacoma
THANK YOU! Do you happen to know the most likely suspension match for the p r a do trim see?
nurey: From what I can gather online, Prado has more common parts with FJ cruiser. But the GX470 shares chassis and frame with 4runner, also suspension parts are identical, I know these because a faulty balloon suspension in the GX470 was changed to standard spring using the 4runner suspension bits and it fitted perfectly only that no ground clearance change again.
From the outward appearance the landcruiser Prado should share more parts with GX460, they basically have the same stance, exterior appearance from the rear though I don't know if the Prado was offered with Air suspension in any trim.
This helps quite a bit. We usually checked with 4runner and Highlander. Never thought to use fj or gx
What exactly is your grouse with giving advise that was solicited for? An advice is not a mandate, it's only a guide and you either take it or leave at your discretion.
Besides, since when did buying a new radiator for a car become a problem to you?
When the advice is very wrong and clearly not given by someone whose job it is too fix cars.
nurey: Lexus GX, Prado, FJ cruiser, 4Runner share same platform, some parts and wheel base
We struggle matching parts for the Prado because it's not an American model. Especially when the parts is not in stock and had to be ordered, we can match to see before we order. Any ideas?
jidemoh: I did that with my car eventually because one fan coming on and going off at intervals was stil causing my engine to overheat. I'll advice you change the radiator first then observe for a period. If your engine overheats, then you can decide on running the fans direct.
As for the fuel consumption, change your air filter and get the injectors cleaned/flushed. Let your mechanic check if all the plugs are working perfectly because one dead plug puts strain on the engine and to keep up, it takes more fuel

nurey: it's the samething. 96-02 and 03-09 mostly had only Prado as the badge no land cruiser joined. It was later in 2010 that Toyota now added landcruiser to join the Prado because it looks identical to the land cruiser was just shorter in width compared to a landcruiser.
jarkbauer: what wrong with your muffler. that thing too common with RAV4s My neighbour had similar experience, the thing is expensive he changed his with tokunbor 140k
EgunMogaji2: And someone will be frolicking about getting a clean VIN report.
Not all accidents are reported to the insurance and hence will make it to the VIN reports.
Example. If I have a 10 year old Accord/Camry in the USA that is worth $5K or so and I get into a fender bender. The last thing I'm going to do is report to the insurance company. I'll rather sell the car off rather than pay a $500 deductible and then higher insurance for the next 5 to 10 years.
I posted something detailed about this and it was Thanosed
This thread is not just for third party. When we goof up royally, I share that too.
I had to admit defeat with a Land Rover this week. Glen wasn't around and I had to make a judgement call. The Rover had an air strut that wouldn't rise. After giving up, the customer had his usual tech who was previously out of town look at it. Turns out SOMEONE had broken a height sensor and covered it up. That SOMEONE was terminated today and customer's labor refunded.
The customer was actually very understanding about it and gave me some advice about managing the "Naija factor". He also revealed that one of my techs was soliciting customers including himself in my absence. That tech is already gone though. Advice I've really taken to heart and haven't stopped thinking about since. I thank that customer.

isyomar: Good day Sir, I just got a Toyota Corolla 07 and would like to change the brake pads? how much would this cost? and also the bow joints of the right leg?
greenmonk: Any car at 250k miles is already at end of its useful life, even if rebuilt the body would be nothing to write home about. Believe me I am a world class maintenance person.
