In my opinion, this is the ultimate knowledge base on oil internationally

But that being said, one cannot minimize the direct local experience from Nigerian shops like Gazzuzz and co.

I use Honda 5W-30 synthetic blend for my accord , hope I'm good to go? I was using Mobil 1 but switched to Honda engine oil two months ago. So far , so good though.
I hate Syn blend . Switch to full. More bang for your buck. Blend is the biggest oil gimmick out there

Chief, i can't comprehend your comment. Could you please break it down?
On my Ford Mondeo Manual, the last user in Germany used Motorcraft 5w-30 engine oil but since i couldn't get the Ford brand name (Motorcraft) at ijebu -ode , i asked Oga Nurey & Femtford on Ford explicit thread and they said I could go ahead with Mobil 1,5w-30 which i bought for 19k at ijebu to service my car last week.
You have no problem

Boss, your boy no tell me this o. And nah from your place I dey buy Mobil one since I bought the car.

The former Oyinbo uses Conventional oil from the sticker of his last service...

But this is my second Mobil 1.

Before buying Mobil 1, it seems the oil was leaking somewhere, but after Mobil 1 in Nigeria. Zero leakage.

This is the second 5,000 miles. And Motor done go Abuja go home since March 3 times without coughing...
It's not a problem if they've been using the RIGHT WEIGHT mineral oil. Only if wrong weight

Didn't see that coming! Glad you got it solved. This is why I avoid remote diagnoses. That one is going into the wtf book. There is no reason why a fuse should cause belt burn. Did someone named Kamoru work on your car previously huh grin

Our workbenches for rebuilds were done locally to our specs. This is off topic but we did the same with the industrial counter fridge, freezer, grease trap and exhaust in our restaurant. Cost us half of importing. Will add pics later.

over heated and bent crank shaft, engine was over hauled ... cylinder head was machined, rings changed, crank as well...all was good within delta state where the work was done until i drove down to Lagos and over heated around ijebu ... waited for it to cool added water and drive to lagos, hiever after that intermittent over heating when i drive hard until now it overt heats every time... checks the oil and is mixed with water.. gasket gone again
Without looking at it a lot of things could have caused this. Machine shop error (we noticed lately a shop we work with had not been doing valves right so we started doing them ourselves), could have been the wrong head gasket, could have been mechanic error. Based on what you told me we wouldn't recommend a rebuild. Too many things could be wrong. Looks like a new motor in your future embarassed

I'm sorry. Might be different if we see it but based on this information alone...

Just like that? I mean your answer is very simple and makes me wonder if i will not end up still replacing the transmission.
Please sir, what is the gear switch called in the market and how much does it cost?
Someone recommended oando trans fluid but i didn't want to buy that unless i get the atf z1.

What the gear mechanic said still bothers me, the the fiber is melted and therefore the transmission is damaged. undecided
huh

Have same issue for 2 years now and have tried all sorts of fix Short of changing the transmission unfortunately no fix. If you accelerate gently it shifts from 1 to 2 smoothly. My next step is to buy Lucas transmission fix and if it spoils the transmission...... So be it. If you find a fix let me know
Bring it over

Belt is about to cut ohh

The basic cause could be the bearing. When it happened to me, I bought bearing #300 and the belt. Spent like 2k sha. If you have the right spanners, you can practice some DIY grin

It's most likely to be the bearing. But consult a mechanic Abeg. I no too sabi

Changed gasket of my Infiniti vq35de engine and it went off again on my first cross country Trip, do you reckon I change engines or is it something I should fix again? It's aluminium head and aluminium block
What was wrong in the first place? A lot of times here they don't get the right seals.
