HeavenlyBang: Was never an issue of costs. The W164 in question had several pump failures. Either due to fake parts or something.
Putting in the Civic pump was an easy, last option. Those were corrected in OE and aftermarket units. |
Car Talk › Re: BMW Owners' Forum by radautoworks: 8:14pm On Dec 25, 2020 |
HeavenlyBang: Nothing dey happen. I've seen a Civic pump used on a w164 without any issues. If it works, it works. It's just a fuel pump, it either works or it doesn't. Except wasted money and the larger question, WHO'S DOING THE INSTALL? Before it turns into fix one get two And seriously, how much different in cost is the correct one at Ladipo to warrant the cut and join? |

Gazzuzz Nurey Kingreign If you can't afford synthetic now, use this BUT CHANGE YOUR OIL EVERY 2-3K miles and when you're more bouyant switch to synthetic. Your car does not require synthetic at all.

I don't see any correct answer on FB though... If you are GM your answer was incorrect.. Correct answer in last picture

nairamaniac: I'm also just realizing that Mass AIR FLOW SENSOR also has it's owns Parts number on crested on it.
That each car has its own MAF that compatible with it dependent on the numbers on it.
And mechanics always told me that the usual way to purchase airflow is to go to the markets they are being sold, then start testing AIR FLOW sensors one by one. Then the one that finally works for your vehicle is the right one.
Guy's is there a way to determine the right MASS AIR FLOW SENSORS and OXYGEN SENSOR for your vehicle using PART NUMBER's on them?
cc paulibling Or you could just use our online tool to find the right one |

fabienjoe: But the reason is simple - African market is warped by poverty..The one with high demand is cheaper because it's the variant used in the US and therefore used ones are available. Businessmen are willing to invest because there's a ready market for it. Don't forget many are bought used from the US. .Higher supply, more availability, relatively cheaper prices....The African variant is sold in very low numbers since many Africans can't afford brand new cars.. low sales means cheap used parts are unavailable..furthermore the demand is low since only few were bought ..no incentive for businessmen to bring them in- scarcity and high price result..Poverty screws things up in ways unknown to Economics...which is why economic theories don't work in Africa.. Ever wonder why they change engine like brake pads in Nigeria? Penny wise, pound foolish. I'd rather have regular business from my customers on the RIGHT oil for their car than encourage them to pinch pennies on their oil so I can sell them an engine down the road for one lump sum. The mechanics (and I use that term lightly) advising people to use it, is that what THEY are putting in their cars? That's all I have to say because I'm trying to reduce my stress.
