Politics / Re: Herd Of Cattle At CBN Quarters In Abuja (pictures) by ramalot(m): 10:39pm On May 08, 2016 |
omenka: Of course, no one will directly equate cattle herding with those crimes. HOWEVER, there is something called analogy. The analogy used in my comment only highlights the flaw in your reasoning that "if something has been like that for a long time, then it's all good." The point is herding cattle in Urban areas is unacceptable and should be curbed. Regardless of how long its been in practice. As for the atrocities of the herdsmen, that's a different topic for those more informed about it. I don't live in Nigeria, and haven't followed that aspect of events, so I can't speak on it. Far from "hate," more like common sense. |

omenka: That's like saying "haven't murder, rape and theft" been part and parcel of human existence as long as we can remember? Because something has been a certain way for a long time doesn't make it acceptable. 5 Likes |

Romance / Re: 10 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Indulge In Sex Before Marriage- Danceville by ramalot(m): 2:54am On Apr 23, 2016 |
What ignoramuses fail to understand is that bad sex IS a deal breaker in any romantic relationship. If the sex is terrible, the relationship WILL fall apart. Many people stay in sexually frustrating marriages because they took the "moral high-ground." Then remain depressed, and channel their frustration in everyday life. You don't have to go around banging everything that moves. But if your relationship has come to a "possible marriage" stage, then do yourselves a favor and have some sex. Once you do, you'll be in a better position to speak on your compatibility as a couple. Other than that, you're just playing Russian roulette. 7 Likes |

Faddd: People who say crap like this are hypocrites, at best. Look around you. The phone you have, the clothes you have, the food you eat, the house you live in etc etc. Then ask yourself why you didn't opt for a Nokia 3310, so you could spend the difference on a starving person etc, with all else. In the words of Jay Z, "everyone can tell you how to do it, but they never did it." 8 Likes 3 Shares |

Education / Re: Nigerian Student Of Warwick Suffers Racism (Photo) by ramalot(m): 5:38pm On Apr 06, 2016 |
bqlekan: To make an individual statement is one thing. To make a blanket statement is another. When you say "we are way better than them," you're asserting that the collective black race is inherently better than "them." This in itself is a factual fallacy. Why? Name one independent black nation that can be described as self-sufficient, industrialized and prosperous. ONE. We are entitled to our own opinions, but not to our own facts. The FACT is, as a "collective," the black community has failed woefully, in the context of the world, and can't describe its collective self as "better" overall than ANY other race. Whether white, Asian, Arab, Hispanic or anything. Does this mean each individual black person is less productive than any given person of another race? Absolutely not. Context is everything. That said, even saying "I'm way better than the whites" isn't a statement of self-confidence, but one of raw ignorance. 1. For that individual blanket statement to be valid, you would have to be better off economically, physically, ethically and intellectually than EVERY single white person. Every last one. Now, see how ignorant that sounds? 2. If a white person made the same statement, "I am way better than the blacks," you would label him a racist and the grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. Moral of the story: Focus on improving yourself as a person, and being the best version of yourself that you can be. Comparisons for self-validation are for the weak. 1 Like |

12inches1: No one said they were naked. Even the "naked tribes" had/have some elements of clothing. However, they typically had/have their breasts in view. e.g the most recent "naked tribe" found in Nigeria have a tradition which suggests if their women wear full clothes, they will be punished by their fertility gods. However, the men typically wear some clothes. It's not always a case of "lack," but traditional inclinations. |

ebenholer: Your argument in itself is an irony. Traditional Nigerians were chilling in their native outfits, tities hanging loose. The white man came and colonized. He told you to cover your tities and such. Now, do you honestly think in "covering up," you're moving closer to your own tradition/ways or moving closer to your colonial master's? You be the judge. Image of traditional Ibo girls around the turn of the 20th century. And I bet the village town crier wasn't running around yelling "5 girls flaunt massive cleavage at the village square."
