By law, respect for the office of the president or head of government in any clime is not a matter of choice but a civic obligation sanctioned by laws. Some people ask; where are the achievements? Well, if they are of such mindset, unfortunately they can't be helped. We don't have the authority to mix spittle with clay, put on their eyes, and direct them to go to Siloam pool, wash, and come back seeing. Once anybody decides to be willfully blind, no matter what you push in front of his eyes, he wouldn't see. If he decides to be willfully deaf, even if there are thunder peals by his ears, he won't hear. People that manage the media of the President put all the activities and achievements in the public domain. They claim not to know. Good luck to them. Those who know, really know. And they are the millions who will stand by the President any day. Strides in security, agriculture, anti-corruption, infrastructure, and many others are evident, (and all these happened in 3 years, something PDP can't do in all the 16 years they looted the treasury!) and still refuse to believe, what then can anybody still do? But thankfully, those who believe far outnumber the inveterate cynics, the children of hate and perdition.


It is so sad to see that out President is this gentle towards these rogues, who among them can dare try 2% of this with OBJ?!
OBJ that sent soldiers to kill/destroyed all the male resident of a town in Nigeria (and they should only spare women and children) while he was a civilian President, and which the soldiers did!!
He would have definitely dealt with this fools called PDP senators.

He was not present when they did the eviction, neighbors said he got a long haul truck driving job and wasn't coming home much.

I am a doctor.

I have worked in several hospitals over the years,including one hospital which had financial issues because people won't pay their bills,another hospital where patient left with a debt running into thousands of naira that up till today has not been paid, and so on

I have, and no I am not boasting...paid for patients out of my salary. Of course, i don;t do that...it impacted on my pocket seriously.

I also don't wait foralert before treating patients.

But the thing is, if patients don't pay on time, hospitals won't be able to function well enough, retain staff, and keep facilities up properly.And when standards fall, patients get hurt.

So, sorry, but there is another side to this story. The funding side.

(And yes, this also happens in developed countries. One homeless man in the USA used to get free treatment in a US hospital's emergency room. Then they stopped...because doing such..treating poor people like him.... left the hospital with a debt of $250million).

Health is not cheap.

True story.

One night a doctor was called to the hospital ( private) to attend to an accident victim. He was knocked down by some boys during the night and was rushed to the hospital as it was close by. Involved where 2 other people bringing the number to 3.

The doctor started attending to the patients without asking for money being naive and the car owners absconded. About 2 hrs later after all efforts one of the victims died.

The owner of the hospital came in the morning and was in rage cos a police report was required, taking the body to the mortuary and all that. Owner says I definitely won't bear this cost, doctor had to pay deducted from salary over 2 months.

Doctor didn't complain. Took it as a lesson in life and after that dropped instructions that if the patient hasn't paid the deposit nobody should call him ever!!.

He tried to save a life and got stuck with the bill.

Try explaining life first to this doctor.

Let me put it this way. A man is hungry and goes to a canteen why won't he be given food after all save life first.

A man is cold with no clothes why doesn't the shop owner give clothes to him. Save lives first.

A brilliant child has no money for fees why doesn't the school let him through for free after all education would save his life ...save life first.

We tend to be very myopic because only when the grim reaper comes knocking that you remember doctors took oaths. How many of you here have reduced the cost of anything for a doctor knowing that he saves lives first. House rent, school fees , transport fare he pays like you but you don't want to pay for his service.

Sad that the young man died, but the entire system is sick including people on both sides of the divide

We are not praying for things like this to happen, but don't blame the Nigerian doctors there are they for business, they have their responsibilities and people who depend on them. Most of Nigerian private hospitals are on rented apartment so they pay rent, pay the workers and equip the hospital with medications needed to care for patients all at the expense of their money.

So if they used the necessary medication for Mr A without him paying for it, there will be no medication for Mr B when he comes for it. Hospitals are not charity organization, even in government hospitals the health officers do make account to the appropriate authorities

So save the hatred and hash words and reason it as a business. The cost of managing a hospital is higher this days, try to listen to doctors side of the stories.

These my family member and other friend had this bout from abuse of it.
Both thanks to medications are OK enough to live almost good normal lives but not without little obvious and subtle drawbacks.

I am familiar with the term catatonic.
What I know about it is what let's me keep away from recreational drugs.

Lol. U no sabi as e dey go. I had a close friend once that had an issue like this. If u see him on the road u will not believe he is capable of violent insanity. Unfortunately I can't tell u the name of his drugs. This happened over 10 years ago. What I know is that as soon as he started taking them, he was calm and after a while he regained normalcy. He missed 1 semester because of his illness and as soon as he came back, he wanted to return to school and do much better with his life. Wish I can say he was able to continue.

I too know of family members and friends that became victims of recreational drugs

We all have different tolerance levels and threshold limits, once you step over it on those poo, it is welcome to wacko world.

I once, in my late teens/early twenties, cant correctly place when
out of curiosty and wanting to find out what the buzz and fuss is about marijuana,
so I tried gbanna but it didnt shack me.
I remember after the draws, saying is that it because nothing spectacular happened
The earth didnt move under my feet, I didnt float, the world didnt stop.

Now what waned my interest in it
and stopped me from again dabbling in it and other recreational poo , first was the self respect I have for myself
and second, that I love to keep, have and maintain my sanity naturally

Drugs are a waste of time, it take you to hell, disguised as heaven.

OP I have no doubt that your brother is feeling better. What I fear though is that u aren't telling us the whole truth. There is a tendency for people to oversimplify or embellish stories. I somehow doubt ur brother got well immediately. The healing could have been gradual but u won't tell us that anyway because it doesn't make for a very interesting story.

Whatever you are doing that is making your brother alright, keep doing it. If it is drugs u or whatever, keep giving him that drug. And if u haven't been giving him drugs, start giving him those drugs or keep the drugs close always. People with a history of mental illness are not called that because they are constantly ill. They are called that because the illness reoccur over time and they usually have long periods of time intermittently when they appear normal. I have an experience with one of such people when I was in school so I know what I am talking about.

So take my advice. If u don't gain anything by sharing this story, at least u will have gained something from what I shared. Keep drugs close by. Always remember that. There might be grave consequences if u fail to do so. Unfortunately, if u face those consequences, u won't come here to share the story gleefully like u are now. And no other person will know. I pray it doesn't come to that.
