We all have our struggling days. Most wealthy people you know in the society today all had their struggling days; except you were born with a silver spoon. It is nothing to be ashamed of because as the Bible puts it: 'Do not despise the days of humble beginnings'. One true fact is that you won't even remember your struggling days when you finally attain success.

If you were born with wooden or no spoons at all, you need not despair. Success is not only achieved by physical strength; it also has to do with your mental strength. Your level of rational thinking matters a lot, for without it, your physical strength will be equivalent to pouring water into a basket. I believe you know what that means.

Below are some things you should avoid as a struggling bachelor:

1) BEER PARLORS/DRINKING JOINTS: It's not a bad idea to visit a bar for one or two bottles of drink occassionally (that's if you drink). What is killing is when you make it a habit to be there everyday to oblige your urge for alcohol! These spots are pocket-drainers for struggling guys. At the end of the day, you'll discover that you've not been able to meet most of your important needs. Why? Your habit is draining your meagre resources at the expense of self-development.

2) CALL GIRLS: Once you entangle yourself in this unfavourable market where deposits are allowed but no withdrawals, you can be completely compared to a fly that's entangled in a spider's web! If you spend N20,000 monthly on prostitutes and your monthly income is N40,000, my brother, your future is not brighter than the back of a cooking pot!

3) FINANCIAL WOMEN: (Apology to Phyno aka Eze Nnunu). If you can afford a phone of N280,000 for your girlfriend without waving, very fine. After all, we give in love. Bro, but not when you are struggling. There's a time for all things. Leave these set of people for those who are already comfortable, rich or have enough to throw around. Life is not and has never been a competition. You too will get there if you strive. Don't be fooled by flashy appearance. Women are created with brains too; they can work and take care of their needs. Don't kill yourself to make a woman look super fly while you are struggling to survive. It makes no sense, for tides and times come and go. Let whoever you are with know your present state. The good ones will encourage you but the materialistic ones...hmmm. That doesn't mean you should be stingy; give freely but let it be within your means. Give with no intention to receive.

4) COMPETITIVE LIFE: This has never been a helpful friend to struggling guys. What will it profit a struggling guy if he spends N2,500 for a bottle of beer in club, knowing fully well that the neighbourhood shops sell same for N200? The kids who spend lavishly right in the club or elsewhere trust their account balance. Trying to compete with them is useless. My brother, na you go still go house go cry! Regret is a personal thing. Nobody regrets with you cool Ogbeni, experience na the best teacher but to learn from anoda man own go make you escape paying the high tuition fee.

5) MULTIPLE AFFAIRS: Just like patronizing call-girls (Point 2 above), engaging yourself in multiple affairs as a struggling guy is a fatal blow that can slow your progress. Apart from wasting resources, you will become less focused. My brother, wetin you dey find go Sokoto dey inside your Shokoto o! Even if she's a 'village girl', you can 'package' her as far as you both love and understand each other. Look for an understanding and emotionally mature girl to date; she must also be engaged in something worthwhile. Stop running after these little slay queens! They'd rather prefer a yahoo-yahoo guy to you.

Throwback: 10 Funny Things We Believed As Kids

1. Cover the head of a duck in a drum and on the seventh day, it will turn to a snake. Who still remember this one? huh

2. When it is raining and the sun is shinning as well, elephants are busy, seriously giving birth!

3. Whenever your food touches the ground, don't eat it; devil has already eaten it wink

4. Large snakes vomit diamonds which they use as light to hunt for food at night! Lol. Abeg, what's the relationship between flesh and stone? Diamonds are gotten underground for crying out loud!

5. If you don't share your foods with classmates, your fingers would become bent.

6. If a boil appears close to your eyes, you must have been stealing meats from the soup pot smiley

7. Any child who buys a boiled egg, fried fish or suya secretly without the knowledge of adults, could grow up to be a thief!

8. When you lose a tooth, you must run round the house, saying 'Rat, take big tooth and give me small one', then throw the tooth on the roof. Failure to do this would result to growing a big tooth!

9. If you swallow the seed of a fruit, say cherry or orange, a tree will grow in your stomach. Na so smiley Person belle don turn soil wink Lol!

10.There's always a ghost (Mrs Koi-Koi) that roams the local primary school at night!

You can add the ones you know cool

FamilyIs It The Responsibility Of A Man To Take Care Of His Wife's Family? by Rapmoney(op): 11:42am On Aug 10, 2017
A friend of mine recently lamented badly how he has been subjected to a mere source of income for his wife's family. Apart from buying things for them during festive periods, he is still been called on every now and then to take care of minor issues that should ordinarily be taken care of the family. There are grown up men in his wife's family but this young man will still be called on to foot medical bills of his father-in-law, support house rent and other funny things such as paying for DSTV subscription. Whenever he complained to the wife about these, she would tell him if members of her family could help, they would have done that. The eldest male in the family who is almost 42 still calls my friend for financial assistance!

Now, my question is: Does it mean if my pal's wife didn't marry him, the entire family would have been wiped out by financial problems? huh I personally feel his unnecessary kindness towards the family is becoming a huge burden in life. I believe he is been used.

I believe this is a common phenomenon in some families which makes it look as if it is the responsibility of a man to cater for his wife's family no matter how comfortable or not the man may be.

Some nice tips you have posted but I want to let you know that the point you made about using ATM machine is flawed!!!

The distance of the bank should matter. For instance, I use Access Bank which is some kilometres from my house and about 200 Naira from my house, using public transport. Ecobank and Zenith Bank are very close to my house. I use my Access ATM card mostly on Ecobank and Zenith Bank machines to save cost of fuel or transportation. Using Ecobank or Zenith will cost me only 65 Naira.

We shouldn't be penny wise and pound foolish.

GoldenSpine24:
What if the one who created man wants to be worshiped? The worship rendered through a particular arrangement is what's called religion. Granted we all have freewill. But even at this point you know that with freewill to make decisions comes responsibility. If i went to pick a knife to slit my hand, no one will likely hold me. I make my decisions, but hey! I suffer the consequences of my actions.

Since a divine being created us, worshiping him in the right way should teach us that we can our lives within moral boundaries. Set not by us, but that divine being.

You mentioned the Japanese. Good. We ultimately are responsible for what happens to us. No differing view on that. However we have not been given the ability to set standards for ourselves for what is right and wrong. Since we choose to set such, that's why the poverty, war, crimes abound. Because rather than conform to moral codes of the universe as set by the one who created it, we dominate each other to our injuries.

So sir, we make our decisions and we take responsibility BUT, the bad effects of decisions can be severely limited if we recognize the fact that we were not created to set certain standards, and we conform fully to the One who has the legal right to set such standards.

He has left us such standards..but will never force us to follow them. If we follow them, we will enjoy a better life..if we do not, he will forgive us if we truly are down at heart but won't shield us from the consequences.

Remember what they say: If education is expensive, try ignorance...and they also said, ignorance of the law isn't an excuse...
My friend, let me tell you, it is the same religions that were created by men that tell you to do this, do that, don't do this and don't do that. Have you ever wondered why some religious doctrines have been modified? That's because they no longer support the lives of those who presented them to us.

I have seen people do very senseless things all because of what they believe religiously. I know a religious leader who drives on the road and people take the soil that his car tyres pass (a machine built by man), pour it in cups with water and drink it as if they are 'soaking' garri. I see poor wretched folks do this several times while their lives still remain same.
