Why the comparisons? Cost of living is different in both countries, for instance, how much do they pay for rent in the UK and how much is rent in Nigeria? Many of us are carried away by the illusion of the exchange rate.

Nigerians like to compare whatever happens in Nigeria with The US, especially the dollars. In the USA, in many states, a three bedroom apartment goes for between US$2,500 to US$3,500 per month. How much is that in Nigerian naira and how many will be willing to pay such per month. Lecturers in many of these countries are also poorly paid in relative terms.
ASUU should focus on making Nigeria get it right with leadership through education. Many of the bad policies by any ruling government are always the handwork of the professors and other academicians, so why the complain and comparison?
