Where is LACASA, the one who claimed GEJ arranged the attack on Daura yesterday to kill Buhari? tiring voices of derisive hypocrites are becoming barely audible. They have been caught in the very traps they usually set for others with aristocratic ingenuity. One hopes GEJ will give similar attention to the other 'brand' of terrorists who go by the name "fulani herdsmen". Their massacre of farmers across the country, particularly in central Nigeria, is rivaled only by their jihadist colleagues, boko haram. Time has come. |
Don Demu: Mopol go come still the money wey those guys labor for. Damn!!Make una come see sick jealousy here oo. Na money be your wahala, when people de praise them for good job, you de talk about money. Oya, go join boko haram to break banks. You no well! |
walakolobo: LACASA, a NairaLander. said the attack was by GEJ to kill Buhari. Is LACASA not yet tired of that expired piece of propagnda? Most of his likes have since slumped into bewildered and confused silence that normally accompanies derisive hypocrisy. |
Let Benue, plateau and Nassarawa declare their own state of "EMERGENCY" against fulani terrorists in their states...but wait, Nassarawa won't do that with the fulani puppet, Al-Makura, in charge. GEJ should then stamp hard on these fulani terrorists in the Middle Belt. Then, only then, will he have completed his "transformation". Middle Beltans are with you, carry go, Jona. |
pompori king: Yeah my prayer group we carry ak47 around and wear blackMaybe they took a cue from those who store their arms in mosques and brainwash some of their members to go on suicide missions. |
Tolexander: i understand there is a need for an excuse to justify the baga invasion!Dude! If Hizbollah, a terrorist group, has drones then what stops boko haram from acquiring mere helicopters? |
...what else can one expect from Al-Makura the progeny of Buhari!for the sake of religion, many of our Northern brothers now prefer Nigeriens,Tchadians,Malians etc to fellow Nigerians,it is a matter of fact that, over the years the core North(Hausa-Fulanis)use these foriegners as mercenaries in Bauchi(Tafawa-Belawa region),Plateau,Southern Kaduna,Benue,Taraba,Nasarawa,Adamawa et al for selfish reasons of displacing the minorities and lay claims to their fertile lands and equally use them to put up more population during elections!...isnt it obvious that the heart of boko-haram lies with those foriegners and they are now becoming a serious problem to their Hausa-Fulani host!it is also on record that some members of House and some other officials are nt Nigerians,so the care-free attitude towards Nigeria.
On point! Governor Al-Makura has brought fulanis and their foreign brethren to replace those who don't share his views and aspirations. Worst hit are the Tivs of Doma local govt area. As I type these lines, the Tivs who make up more than half of the local government's population don't have a single house still standing. Those who survived the genocide are now refugees in Benue state. Doma is now base for fulani militia/mercenaries who use the place to launch attacks on Tiv, and now Agatu, communities in Benue state. The attacks and destruction inflicted on the Tivs of Doma and those of the neigbhouring Guma local govt in Benue state is unprecedented and horrible, yet the governor hasn't done anything about. Anyone who knows even little about the security situation in Nassarawa state understands how deep governor Al-Makura is involved this evil machinations. His preference for fulanis and their foreign mercenaries over local militias that are there to protect their own people-since he his unable to do so-manifested clearly in this unfortunate killing of innocent security operatives. Governor Al-Makura is responsible for the death of those officers. |
eGuerrilla: @rawtruth/@idupaul,Don't get me wrong. I only tried to give an insight into the background leading to this horrible events. The act was barbaric and inexcusable; read my post well. By the way, two of the dead police officers are from my community, the third one is battling for his life at Dalhatu specialist hospital in Lafia. |
idupaul: Na wa ooo .. In an attempt by the CPC led govt to dislodge a christian militia to allow free passage for Fulani herdsmen to continue their reign of terror in the middle belt our Policemen have become the casualty in this daibolic plot by Fulani herdmen to own the fertile grounds of the Middle belt.. Before the week ends Nigeria Army will burn down eggon and unknowingly create a free corridor for Fulani herdmen to finish of TIv farmers.. Some Complex scene .. Its not easy for Jonathan does he wipe out the Ombatse and allow the untouchable Fulani reign supreme? Not only "Tiv farmers"; the Agatu people of Idoma land have just been added to the fulani "wish list": four people lost their lives while eight villages were burnt to ashes there by fulani militia/mercenaries who crossed from governor Al-Makura' state to carry out the attacks in Benue state. Maybe the governor may claim ignorance of the presence of the dare-devil mercenaries in his state, but is aware of Ombatse which is less active than these fulani-hired mass murderers. |
"Ombatse", as is being speculated, was formed by the Eggon ethnic tribe of Nassarawa state to counter terrorist activities of fulani herdsmen who have turned the state into a jungle-killing ground. Fulani militia/mercenaries, in spite of their dare-devil attacks on farming communities across the region, have been doing their best to avoid confrontation with Ombatse. That's why Eggon farms, unlike those of the Tivs of Nassarawa and parts of Benue state, have remained free from the trampling hoofs of cattle herds. Governor Al-Makura, while ignoring the fulani militias/mercenaries who have camps in Doma LGA and have cleansed the Tivs of Doma and part of Benue state, designated Ombatse a "cult group" and has vowed to destroy it at all cost. Watchers of events in Nassarawa state are saying that the governor views the group as a threat to his ambition to retain his seat come 2015. Such views gained their credence from the conspicuous tendency of the governor to ally more closely with fulani migrants than with the "Christian tribes" of the state. There are accusations here and there that the governor does the wishes of the Sokoto Islamic Caliphate, which has no respect for the wishes other ethnic groups in the north, save their converts/acolytes. By irrationally and foolishly killing security agents, the Ombatse has dug the grave for the mass burial of its own people; something the governor has been trying to do since he assumed office in 2011. |
Did they die final final or they are still breathing?
A DEPRAVED AND SADISTIC SON OF LUCIFER! |
Let the Idomas too, like their suffering Tiv neighbours, ask their paramount traditional ruler to stop tying that piece of white cloth round his cap as a sign of loyalty to the sokoto Caliphate. That will probably stop the likes of Yakassi from taking Idoma people and, by implication, David Mark for granted. Hard-core Oligarchs like Yakassi don't have respect for anyone who, no matter his/her position in govt, is not a full-blooded hausa/fulani, or their converts. |
"Let me also tell you Northerners are not and never afraid of the break up of Nigeria; again go check history, you'll find that the North considered breaking away not once but twice due to the unpalatable characteristic of your ppl. If you are thinking about oil money, well majority of Northerners who are farmers don't get the benefit (except for the few elites) and therefore won't feel its absence. So to hell with your oil money. Most Northerners are in fact contented with what they have no matter how little, that is why life to them is never by hook or by crook - they still value honour before money." ...I believe by "northerners" you are referring solely to Hausa/fulanis and their converts. |
kettykings: where is TY Danjuma the God father of the state why is he keeping quietTy Danjuma fears he would lose his status in the scheme of "northern affairs" if his beloved Junkuns part ways with their Hausa/fulani benefactors and identify more with the Christian south. So, he must be a very worried man now...perhaps on his knees praying. I sympathise with the old man. |
drama queen: The report is very true I just watched my things burn into ashes its worst than before plus all the soldier are no longer on their post they've left the town.God pls spare our lives I just graduated oSorry, be thankful for still having your life in your possession, keep it well. Meanwhile, I smell a rat over this issue of the military "leaving their posts" when their own is not yet killed. Perhaps they want things to get worse to justify a coup...just wondering. |
gowaga68: Some people talk as if they are using em ass to talk, how can a reasonable person say they can kill em sef as long as they are all northerns? sha na you get your mouth. But pls if u dnt have any thing good to say just keep shut. But the Kutebs and the fulanis are said to have teamed up to clease or chase the Tivs out of your Takum LGA....Kutebs to have free reign on elective positions while the fulanis occupy abandoned farm lands for grazing. Confirm if this is true or not. |
Small small, we don dey see "ghosts" on Nairaland. I love this. |
maasoap: Your comment was based on what you choose to believe. My omment was based on facts; facts that still exist today. Survivals are there to testify; the ruins of General malu's house are still there-with perforated walls; many policemen who served at Zaki Biam police station, which was also burnt by the soldiers, are still alive; there pictures of the local govt secretariat showing where shells fired by the soldiers tore through the walls; one Tiv police sgt who was taken hostage by the soldiers at Zaki Biam police station(because he was Tiv), blindfolded and taken to Wukari, where he was framed and charged to court in Jalingo as one of the killers of the soldiers, still lives. It took the intervention of Senator Saaor, and later the police authority for the sgt to be released. The point I'm trying to make is that the Zaki Biam killings were premeditated acts of genocide, as directed by Obansanjo and his murderous cabinet. Most Nigerians don't care about what happens outside their immediate areas so they never got to know of the unprecedented level of horrors of a state-sponsored terrorism against the Tivs of Zaki Biam and environs. Ironically, those who wouldn't raise a voice against the Zaki Biam criminality are now asking for a probe in a case where terrorists actually engaged the army in a fierce battle. As I said, Tiv leaders have become a confused set of people because of a perceived fear of loosing political relevance if they appear too confrontational with the powers that be. Otherwise, OBJ and co would have since been behind the bars in the Hague. |
maasoap: And to imagine that people who want Obasanjo at ICC for genocide are the same set of people who today see the killing of 185 civilians as wiping out Boko Haram. Are they telling us that you can see a settlement that habour 185 boko haram? You people refer to the killing of children, women and defenceless men as collateral damage? Why do average Nigerian like and love to change sides at will? Why do they find it so convenient to condemn an act today and find justification for it tomorrow when another person commit the same offence? OBJ deployed soldiers to Odi and Zaki Biam, they condemned it, Jona's soldiers massacred 185 people, razed down an entire town including their market and food stores and the same set of people who once had and still have empathy for Odi and Zaki Biam people suddenly lost their conscience. My question to you people is 'what happened in Odi and Zaki Biam that didnt happen in Baga?' And this happening few weeks after Mr Jonathan called OBJ action in Odi and Zaki Biam "genocide".I don't want to rate you as an individual who is too indolent or too dull to analyse or understand peculiar differences that exist in every situation, so I'm reluctantly opining that you are a very mischievous and dishonest person, with a biased mindset. In Baga, boko haram engaged the army in a firefight with RPGs and other types of military weapons. Are you saying that the soldiers ought to have turned their backs and fled because the insurgents were firing from positions populated by civilians? And, do you know the kind of havoc that can be caused by rocket propelled grenades, which boko haram insurgents were said to have used recklessly? In Zaki Biam, there was a protracted conflict between the Tivs and the Jukuns (A conflict that was started by the fulanis and taken over by the Jukuns) There were reports of the use of military uniforms by Jukun combatants who disguised as soldiers and penetrated deep into Tiv villages to carry out attacks. Those soldiers who were killed were alleged to have been mistaken for Jukun militias. The Tiv youths who killed the soldiers ran into hiding after they discovered their horrible mistake, abandoning the corpses and the military rifles. When soldiers were deployed to Zaki Biam to work with the police to apprehend the killers, they were well received and given accommodations in the best hotels in Zaki Biam and Katsina-Ala. The environment was very calm, save the large number of Tiv refugees who were trooping into Benue from Taraba and Nassarawa state where they were under attacks from Jukuns and fulani hired mercenaries. There was no single short fired at any soldiers during their stay in Zaki Biam. On the day they were to carry out the massacres, some soldiers went to Gbeji, a villge not far from Zaki Biam, and asked the police officer incharge of the police post there to assemble the villagers for discussion. The officer, Inspector Thomas, together with his son, went round Gbeji village calling out people to assemble for a meeting with soldiers. Hundreds of people trooped out, bringing with them benches and chairs on which they sat. At a point, the soldiers asked women and children to leave; that they only wanted to talk to the men. There and then the soldiers simultaneously opened fire on Inspector Thomas and the assembled men. At the end of it all, 169 persons died at the village square, 26 other dead bodies were recovered in the surrounding bush where they were gunned down in their attempt to escape. At the same time another gory scene was unfolding in Zaki Biam town where soldiers went on killing and burning sprees. Meanwhile, another group of soldiers proceeded to General Victor Malu's country home in Katsina-Ala local govt where they burned his house and killed many, including his blind uncle with his wife.... Well, I just want to give you a little insight into what happened in Zaki Biam for you to compare it with the Baga incident. You may also wish to find out if soldiers who went to Odi to "fish out" the killers of 12 policemen encountered armed resistance in that town. Obansanjo and his cold-blooded murderers are roaming free and beating their chest today because the Tivs, and the Ijaws, are confused sets of people. |
cheddarking: Winning the war against Boko Haram was never going to be easy. The Chechen wars come to mind as an example of religio-political wars whose flames have yet to be fully extinguished since fighting broke out in '94.Well said. However, Mr President may have initially relied on the advice of prominent northern muslims, believing in their wisdom, honesty and commitment to peace in the region and Nigeria as a whole. But unfolding events have proved him wrong. Any Nigerian leader outside that region would have done the same thing; considering the weighty roles played by Nigerians from that part in the affairs of the country....which left a permanent impression on the minds of most Nigerians that the "monolithic north", remains very powerful and is therefore capable of helping to resolve crises within its domain. Therefore, even the most competent leader is likely to become incompetent in handling the boko haram insurgency when people that are better-placed to help prefer to "pledge their loyalties to their respective creeds than to that which unity holds out for all". |
alnaijiri: Make no mistake, the BH fighters are misguided and are committing unIslamic atrocities. But EVERY Nigerian Muslim, from Lagos to Katsina, must feel stirred to the soul by the violence that strikes our land. What was it to provoke Muslim youths to such barbarism. Was it a primal cry to defend Islam and our noble way of life passed on to us by our fathers but now under threat from the unspeakable filth of Nigerian (South-dominated) mainstream culture, a culture of wanton greed, of corruption, of adultery, of inhumanity, and above all of delusions."Misguided muslims", living among the "guided" muslims and plotting mass murders..., which they carry out with impunity and run back to hide among the "guided" muslims... What a paradox! Concerning your obvious appeal to the sentiment of muslims "from Lagos to Katsina", you can never "stir the souls" of Yoruba muslims with primitive and blind zeal, because their exposure to Western education has made the kind of Islam they practice different from the one practiced by most of the northern muslims. Don't ever dream that anything that is linked to Boko haram will ever "stir the souls" of a people as enlightened as the Yorubas, or other enlightened muslims. |
stjudas: Allahu akbar...... Allah may u guide ur own as they fight against those who fight against Islam. Thanks for protecting ur mosque. One boko haram member identified. Next?... |
ecosanders: This news hav bin ignored by religious bigots since morning, cos its a Mosque, heard it on BBC dis morning. @Mod if it Ini Edo wearing bikini nw or who wore it beta bt t*oto d*ick and Berem, u would hav push it 2 front page abi? It's comments like this that actually stimulated interest in the thread, otherwise the story itself lacks quality. Are they saying that the boy set fire to the mosque and waited with a gallon and matchbox in his hands for the security man to put out the fire and arrest him? Even a seven-year old child wouldn't do that. This is not the first time some people would try to confuse Nigerians since boko haram started their attacks against Christians and Churches. This story might be a prelude to another attack on Christians in Abuja. Let Christians there be more careful. |
Tambuwal wasn't underage when OBJ was doing his things, so what were his views on OBJ's disregard for the rule of law? Can anybody recall what Tambuwal said in opposition to Obansanjo's numerous wrong doings? The truth is that OBJ and the likes of Tambuwal are birds of the same colour merely nesting on different trees. |
tonididdy: exactly what the sponsors or the USA want...a religious warIf there were no blood-thirsty Kanuri/Hausa/Fulani jihadists bombing and shooting innocents persons in the name of "Allah", or hiding under the cover of "grazing rights" to massacre farmers in northern Nigeria-for the same jihad, the wishes of the "sponsors" or USA would have amounted to nothing. Don't waste your time typing such naive lies again. |
When Al-qaeda and the Talibans accept "Amnesty", boko haram might do same. I said it before; that those advocating amnesty for boko haram are deliberately trying to give the sect legitimacy. As much as the Niger Delta militants were committing terrorists acts and were made up of mostly criminals, with many of them justifiably killed by the JTF, they had good reasons to complain, though their methods were wrong. Lets see how the Sultan and co will react to the sect's position. |
SUBMARINE: @MIDDLE BELTANS It is tantamount 2 suicide if u guys decide 2 insult d Igbos. Several factors contribute 2 success in war eg money, technology, population, brain etc. So I ask again If d SE/SS trade oil 4 weapons & Abokis get weapons 4rm d Islamic world wat wil u MBs trade 4 weaponsDon't tell me you don't use yam, groundnut, rice, oranges, beniseed, tomatoes, assorted types of mangoes, potatoes, cassava, soya bean, Irish potatoes, maize, guinea-corn, millet, and other food crops too many to mention. And, try find out what were the main drivers of the economy prior to 1957, before the first oil-well started spouting out that cursed liquid!. Be fair. |
Empex: Its high time the government do something about these fulanis as their blood-lust is gradually becoming incontinent. If you ask me, they should be made to understand that there are laws governing every part of the country and barefaced attack on people which results to carnage on the slightest of provocation would not be tolerated. Haba! The middle belt is a guinea savanna and is different to what is obtained in the far north, they shouldn't expect that ordinary farmers who worked assiduously would sit arm-folded while they graze on their crops. I blame some of the state governors of these state though, these nomads should be compelled to practice modern animal rearing methods, and sending their children to school should be made compulsory, failure to heed to this directive should be considered a state security threat and the gov. can take it up appropriately. I wonder what plans states and federal government have for these people, would they continue to be nomads when Nigeria celebrates 100 yrs of independence?Well said. Concerning the role the politicians from the areas are expected to play, particularly those from Benue state, the governor has been holding series of meetings with his Nassarawa state counterpart to find solution to this problem but to no avail. Senator George Akume whose constituency covers the affected areas reacted initially by donating money for the purchase of relief materials for victims of the earlier attacks in 2011 but has remained silent since then. The house of representative member from the area, Hon Emmanuel Jime, whose country home has been completely razed down, with more than 50 lives lost, in the present killing and burning sprees by the fulanis, led some selected reps to the affected communities with the period, 2011, and also donated relief materials. (casualty figure in yesterday's attack is very very high, take my word) Senator David Mark does not wish to be bothered about any problem affecting the Tivs. He has no house in Makurdi, the Benue state capital, which is situated in Tiv land. Governor Al-Makura of Nassarawa state does what the fulanis want. The killers who are mostly foreign mercenaries have camps in Nassarawa state where they usually sneaked into Benue to massacre and run back. This a fact known to anyone with interest in the matter. The crux of the matter, however, is that fulanis don't respect any state governor, they take their instructions from the leaders of their cattle union, the Miyeti Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACABAN), which has the Sultan as its grand Patron. Read the comment of the union's national leader, Alhaji Sale Bayyari and you will agree with me. It remains a puzzle when one observes the silence of fulani elites who know very well that nomadic grazing has no future in this crowded world but have chosen not to advice and assist their cattle-herding brethren to establish ranches for a more productive and secure cattle breeding. There is, therefore, more to these attacks than the grazing-right claims usually fronted as the cause of these crises. That the increase in the number and brutality of the attacks coincided with the upsurge in activities of boko haram is no mere coincidence! Just rewind the trend and you will appreciate my point more clearly. It's beyond the capacities of individual politicians. The bloodbath continues. |
Dede1: The above post is balderdash written out of ignorance. My grandpa says “he\she who does not understand the point where the rain started beating him\her will never know where the rain stopped”. You have written like deceitful fellow who would want to eat his\her cake and have it.I can see that your mindset is in no condition for objective argument. You have a morbid obsession with the tragedies of the past...,meaning you can't reconcile with anyone who you believe offended you, including perceived "enemies" of your forefathers, irrespective of whatever circumstances and period under which that might have happened. For you, the side that felt offended and suffered heavier casualty figures in the unfortunate but numerous conflicts between the people of Umeleri and Aguleri must remain permanent enemies of the other. Try come out such self-destructive state of mind. And, for your information, many of the boko haram-displaced Igbos from the core north have moved to the middle belt, particularly the major towns in Benue state to continue their businesses. Having stayed long in the north, they know the clear differences that exist there. You are not speaking for even a quarter of the Igbos of this country. |
The well-captioned topic has, not surprisingly, been hijacked by those who have refused to see the difference between yesterday and today. For the likes of Dede1, there is neither history nor future; everything remains as it was since 1966. Although there is nothing wrong with 'wincing' at bitter memories of the past, there is something wrong with obsession with such bitter memories. The ongoing genocide against Christians in central Nigeria is a continuation of the 'campaign' that had declined with the arrival of British colonialists. While the precolonial 'phase' was more concerned with religious conversions than with economic gains, the reverse is the case presently. Having indiscriminately grazed and destroyed the vast grazing fields in the core north, which accelerated desertification at an unusual speed, the fulanis have turned their attention to the remaining grassland in central Nigeria, where the indigenous communities are mostly farmers, and Christians. With no strong regulation to control animal breeding, as is done elsewhere, fulanis believe they have the right to graze wherever they want. For them, land belongs to all and must be used by all without demarcation-A philosophy that is contrived, obviously, to serve specific purposes. Fulanis have well-educated individuals in almost all fields of human endeavours, they also have super-rich businessmen/politicians with the means and political influences to educate and assist their cattle-herding brethren to buy land and establish ranches for more productive and secured animal breeding. It is surprising that their elites pretend not to be aware of the fact that human rights are different from animal rights, and that increasing population and its attendant demand on land for more food production makes nomadic animal grazing impracticable in today's world. While govt presently occupies itself with the threat of boko haram insurgency, fulanis are busy importing mercenaries from, Chad, Mali, Niger Republic e.t.c., into central Nigeria to massacre the "recalcitrant" tribes of the region. The success of Arab militia, the "supporter of APC", in Darfur, Sudan, against black African tribesmen of that country must have encouraged the Nigerian fulanis to embark on the same 'project'. I foresee a soon-heavily-armed central Nigeria tribesmen engaging its fulani invaders in one of the most blood-spilling crises in Nigeria in recent times. The Danjumas can't dictate how this scenario is going to unfold. |
Dede1: I am not worried about the lapper who seemed to have too much to drink but Ndigbo who are bent on delusional drunkenness that blinded Igbo soldiers in Nigerian armed forces of 1960. If Lt Col Jam Pam, a Tiv, did not mind annihilating his people on the orders of Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa, why should Maj C Anuforo mind? You aren't much for details, are you? Lt, col Pam was not Tiv. Don't come here twisting history. And, with regards to one of your earlier comment, no Igbo person was 'dragged out of their houses" and killed by the Tivs in 1966. Go do some research. There might be Igbos still living who lived in Tiv areas before the war started, you can find out from them. I'm sure you were either too young to know anything, or still a primordial spirit-seed in the spirit realm at the time of those crises. |
kettykin: If the Middle belt leaders like Gowon , TY Danjuma, Domkat Bali, Useni,Unongo Gana e.t.c are not complaining or even reacting whom would you expect to react in their place .Quote: "igbos became scapegoats and were now on the receiving end with their people killed by even Tivs who some few months were rioting against northern domination" Unquote: The Tivs never took part in the killing of Igbos in the north, go and check your records properly. If you are talking about the civil war then all the tribes were involved. On the other hand, I quite appreciate the points you have made concerning the attitude of the so-called leaders of the Middle-Belt. The fulanis have turned the region into a killing field with no one deeming it fit to utter a word! One would have thought the death of the Senator and state assembly member from Plateau provided enough reason for some serious attention to this fulani/farmers crises across the region, but alas! the usual naive responses made up of 'mumbling voices' remain the norm. The likes of Danjuma don't speak against the fulani Caliphate which they helped to make more powerful with the blood of young men of central Nigeria during and after the civil war; probably because of the fear that they would lose their individual relevance in the affairs of this country if they break away from the so-called Monolithic North. Thus, your sarcasm is well grounded. |
