I read the book once but could not grasp its messages completely, so I have to start again-which I'm currently doing. However, the little I could understand tells me that the writer spoke what he believed and lived. The detailed and penetrating insights into what had largely remained hidden from most theologians and philosophers open up, though arguably, a comprehensive and believable view of creation, beginning from the un-knowable to the knowable. "Student of knowledge" who are free from the chains of the world's religions are bound to find the book as an encompassing architectural masterpiece foundation on which designs of all types can be constructed. I found no contradictions with Jesus' messages in the Bible. |
The girl's face in the first picture looks like she belongs to the age-grade of Senator Yerima's then 13 years-old Egyptian sweetheart....Probably one of the ever-youngs-if 35 is actually her age. |
tbaba1234: There was no life threat, mr man.....Even when the one you "love" is the most compassionate, most merciful and most powerful? God needs neither eye-service nor fighting in His behalf. |
babyosisi: And why does that husband of hers wear those pencil pantsJealousy! |
Though not represented by all segments of the "Arewa" youths, the intention, as expressed, is noble. You don't go to God's house with underlying dubious intention if you actually believe that He is your Creator and provider of all that sustain you. One also hope this same Arewa youths will soon prevail on the fulanis to stop the killing of sedentary farmers, buy lands and establish ranches-instead of buying arms to forcefully convert farmlands into grazing fields. For, this is one of the major problems that has made life meaningless to millions of our farmers in Nigeria, particularly in central Nigeria. |
Ebenezerk2: They are all lower ranks in Army, what of Brigadier General, col. General, etc which are more experienced in Army, that was how it was reported that Obasanjo ran away from the battle field during the civil war, they will never risk their lives. anyway, they have died for the unity of this country, rest in peaceAs revealed by general Isama in his book, he, Obasanjo, was actually shot on the buttock while fleeing from an ambush, an ambushed he could have avoided if he had taken the advice of his more experienced and battle-rugged surbodinates like general Isama and general Akinrinade. The same coward, as a civilian president, ordered the mass-murder of unarmed women and kids in Odi and Zaki-Biam. RIP to the gallant soldiers. |
May their gallant souls rest in peace. I read somewhere that some of the soldiers, three, to be specific, died while on peacekeeping duties not related to the boko haram insurgency, also in the north. That means the body of soldier who was ambushed and beheaded by fulani militias near Udei, Guma local govt in Benue state about two months ago is among them. That ugly incident was curiously kept out of public domain by military authorities because the almighty fulanis were involved. The hausa/fulani man who is the acting commanding officer of 72 Battalion Makurdi, where the soldier was serving before his death, had been criticised by Tiv elders from the affected areas for playing some dubious roles because of his open interaction with bearded fulani Ardos who often requested and got soldiers to accompany them deep into Tiv villages in search of "missing cattle". After such combined visits of soldiers and fulanis, attacks on the visited communities by fulani militias with devastating results usually followed. The chief of Army staff must develop ways of covertly watching the conducts of his commanders, some of whom don't mind compromising the Army's espirit de corps for religious or tribal reasons. May the soul of that soldier find peace in the bosom of the Lord, and may the betrayers who betrayed the effort of his colleagues to apprehend his killers find no peace until they confess. |
Chillisauce: Aww....That is, if she is really a "mother". Sadly, not all women are "mothers"! |
Muslim elements in Nigeria are increasingly becoming bolder in their push for assimilation of their value systems by everyone under the sphere of their influence. The same Yerima started the infamous Sharia that undoubtedly became the "green-light" for the emergence fundamentalist muslim sects like boko haram and JAMBS, and, perhaps with more to come. Only a strong-willed leadership can help to define the boundaries and fix every individual and groups in their proper positions. |
No wonder, his recovery progress, after quite sometime on life-support machine, is being described as miraculous. Those who are spiritually empty can't understand this. The vulgar ones among the spiritually-empty can only respond with vain jests. Time for those who haven't repented to do so. |
Why don't we appreciate and encourage our own? We know that our military is not yet world-standard in terms of equipments, so the idea of posting pictures of military hardware of developed nations to compare with ours is needless. Meanwhile, I hail our military...pity boko haram for daring to confront them. |
Abdul Adam56: Hmm i dont tink dis is wrk of fulani.your thinking is in line with Miyeti Allah Cattl Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACABAN), which has the Sultan of Sokoto as the grand patron...that's what they hav been saying. But, no matter how long it takes, evil shall be overcome by good. In the main time, let fulanis continue to murder with sadistic glee. |
egift: PDP boys have hijacked the effort as the did the post-2011 election protest and killed innocent graduates. Now it is to eliminate oppositions in the North and force them to "Put Ya Hand On The Ummbbralaas"If the boys are PDP youths, as you claimed, why didn't they go after all the officials of Borno state govt who are mostly, if not all, ANPP card-carrying members? Know that both boko haram youths and the so-called "civilian JTF" in Borno are Kanuri, they know themselves. Take a critical look at such complex issues before you write. |
Check and you will find out that most of their demands concern personal welfare. The "greed epidemic", similar to the the one afflicting our politicians, has taken hold of our university dons. No hope yet for 9ja. |
Brimmie: End of Boko Haram?? And They Killed Some Youths?? SMH!!....And you are therefore suggesting that Goodluck Jonathan should also invite Boko Haram to open an office in Nigeria "to better co-operate and for peace initiative!!"...not a bad idea, lets see how YOU can persuade BH to do that. |
daywatcher: Muslims serving Arab interests, Christians serving western interest. When will Africans wake up?The difference lies in the use of God's name in committing the most horrible crimes, including suicide bombings. You can sort it out by yourself. |
gbadexy: Boko haram is over in the north! We were not being unfair; it is normal to expect people among whom criminals live to expose them. You can still blame inhabitants of kidnappers/armed robbers-infested areas for providing sanctuary to the kidnappers/armed robbers. The people of Maiduguri were justifiably criticised for accommodating BH, and now that they have started exposing them, they deserve commendation. |
payless: Those youths are the same Muslims you and your SE ilks have been tagged as terrorists in the last three years. You and your ilks have tagged all these Muslims in the North as Islamic terrorists. These Muslim youths have been victims of violent acts being perpetrated by Boko Haramists. I can see the plank in your eyes has finally been removed and you can now see clearly and give kudos to these kids. Recently, you also started your religious war in the South with Governor Aregbe running an "Islamist governemnt".Your reasoning is poor: they refused to do the right thing so they were criticised; they are now doing the right thing so they are being praised. What, to your upside-down sense of reasoning, is wrong with that? |
Sincere 9gerian: Those who tell us state governors are helpless in curbing insecurity in their domains should read the above report. State governors can do alot, even much more than the FG.This one didn't do until the federal govt slammed a state of emergency on the state, and says it will covert part of monthly allocation of the affected states from the federation account into federal security vote. Any way, it's never too late, the FG may decide to suspend the 'cut' since the "state sponsored" youths seems to be doing a good complimentary job. Yobe and Adamawa shouldn't wait, let them moblise their youths to start their own "civilian JTF. |
emmysenior: Let them not complicates things for the JTF, all that is required of them is tip offs and their co-operations, nothing more."Tip-offs and 100% cooperation"- a flawed theory under such circumstances. Are BH members always stationary to allow for successful rounding up after tip-offs? If the youths are sincre and courageous enough to do that then what they need is support from all lovers of peace. Unusual situations demand unusual reactions, let the youths carry on. I'm praying for them and JTF. |
searay: The pyramids had been replaced with BH. Apologies! You don't have to apologise, you said part of the truth. Many farmers out there must have either been killed, maimed, or are too scared to go to the farm. But, actually, fulani herdsmen are more dangerous to food production than BH. I understand that BH don't attack people on the farms, but herdsmen need those farms for their animals, so no farmer who won't allow them graze on the land is safe; particularly in central Nigeria where food production average higher than other parts of the country. |
BY ANAYO OKOLI UMUAHIA — AKANU Ohafia people in Ohafia Local Government Council of Abia State have sent a Save-Our-Soul call to Governor Theodore Orji over what they called the invasion and destruction of their farmland by the Hausa/Fulani herdsmen. The community also sent the Save-Our-Soul message to the Abia State House of Assembly, saying they need urgent intervention in the crisis before it escalates to threaten the peace of the community and the state at large. The community described the threat of the Hausa/Fulani herdsmen as “perennial, calculated and deliberate provocative activity meant to impoverish, maim and finally exterminate our people.” They alleged that some Hausa/Fulani cattle rearers had late last month “attacked and nearly killed the Chairman of Akanu-Ukwu Ohafia Vigilante group, Chief Thomas Onuegbe Uka.” Monday, hundreds of them stormed the Abia State Government House and the House of Assembly with placards and urged them to intervene by stopping the cattle rearers from further destroying their crops. Some of the placards read, “stop destroying our land; our farming is our life; cattle frightening women in the farm; cattle graiziers killing farmers” among other while the women among them carried sticks of cassava to the protest. In a protest letter presented to the Government and the House of Assembly, the community enumerated series of loses they have incurred in their farm on account of the activities of the herdsmen. They therefore called on Governor Orji to wade into the matter and resolve it before the matter escalates if the people retaliate. Addressing the protesters, the Deputy Governor of Abia state, Chief Emeka Ananaba who represented Governor Orji commended the Akanu Ohafia people for maintaining peace by not attacking the invaders. According to him, the Government would look into their complaint and resolve it amicably even as he urged them to maintain peace. In order to maintain their hold on power, certain political interest groups within and outside nassarawa state have been devising various means, mostly dubious, divisive and harmful in order to ensure that no group outside their own rules the state. It was under the former governor, Abdullahi Adamu, that the Tivs of the state were cleansed through wanton killings and destruction of all their properties in 2001/2002. The survivals later returned to begin new lives on the ruins of their homes and farmlands that had been trampled into hard-earth by hoofs of fulani cattle herds. The Tivs of the state also lost their rights to stand for elections as all elective posts in the areas went to Alago people, who had agreed to be tools of the fulani-sponsored cleansing exercise.Although the former governor, now senator, tried to create an impression of neutrality during the crises, proofs of his complicity in the project of making Nassarawa a vassal state of the fulanis emerged when he introduced a policy ordering all Eggon people to move back from Nassarawa South senatorial zone to Nassarawa Eggon local govt area of the state. The decision was challenged up to the Supreme court where the governor/govt' s decision was described as illegal and needless. Eggon people won. That failed policy was intended to open up new settlements for migrants muslim elements from the Hausa/Fulani north who would increase the voting power of the group for perpetual leadership of the state. Governor Al-Makura has been obviously briefed and asked to continue with the "efforts". Under his watchful eyes, the Tivs of Doma have been totally cleansed from the local govt, with survivals taking refuge in Benue state. Doma has become camp to fulani militia/hired foreign mercenaries who moved en-masse into Benue to kill, steal and set fire to houses. They have also, once again involved the greedy and short-sighted Alago people who are now offering their young men as killing tools in the hands of fulani jihadists-cum-herdsmen. The governor and his cabinet remained largely silent as the Tivs who constitute more than half of Doma local govt's population were being slaughtered in their hundreds. (But they have found it necessary to televise the aftermath of the attack on Rukubi on NTA network news) Today, abandoned ruins of Tiv villages and farmlands in Doma LGA have become residences and grazing fields of fulani herdsmen. Encouraged by their success over the Tivs of Doma and parts of Benue state, the executioners of the "vassal plan" once again turned their attention to Eggon people. All for the purpose of silencing perceived threats to their political ambition. The unfortunate result of the major attempt on the Ombatse shrine is no longer news. It is not out of place to predict that, if the federal govt continues with its passive posture over these fulani killings, Nassarawa state will likely witness one of the worst sectarian violence in this part of the country in the coming days. One also foresees the Tivs and Eggon, and possibly the Koros, coming together to give the fulanis and their Alago ally the fight of their lives. A stitch in time saves nine! |
Why are some ppl quick to judge and condemn so easily without thinking with their brains. Read the story again and note especially the first and last paragraphs (key words in bold). First of all, the author only said the culprits were SUSPECTED to be Fulani herdsmen; but never anywhere positively identified any of the attackers as Fulani. Secondly, the last paragraph identified the gunmen as MILITANTS as well as their sophisticated weaponry, including for that matter SUB MACHINE GUNS and EXPLOSIVES. Pls stop there and ask yourselves how does that fit with typical ordinary Fulani herdsman (attack)? Its either the journalist was damn right lazy and did not investigate the story fully well or there was more to it than he was actually letting out. Either way, this piece is incomplete without the origin and cause of the violence e.g. was it a revenge attack or a mindless one for the fun of it - there has got to be a reason which is obviously not being told. @ MODERATOR: Its a big shame that you continue to allow blatant violations the rules, especially no. 2,3, 7 (and even 10) under your watch without even lifting a finger, let alone taking real action against those in violation. Words like Bastards, in capital letters and similar offensive references, are in free flow but not a single word from you - the same also goes for most of the threads especially in politics. Well, let it be known that if this continues unabated despite the so called rules and the presence of moderators to check these excesses; then I too would be obliged to take the law into my own hands and retaliate ten fold in the most vile of manner to any insult or derogatory reference to my religion, tribe or region.
What are you saying? Fulanis used RPGs (Rocket Propelled grenades) on Tiv communities in Gwer-West local govt in Benue state in 2011, prompting the state governor to call for federal govt's intervention. There is nothing like "typical fulani herdsmen attack" again, they have metamorphosed into a full-fledged armed wing of the Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACABAN), with weapons of all types and with the help of their foreign kinsmen who are assimilated into the folds of Nigerian fulanis as soon as they step into the country. You can only deceive those Nigerians who live far way from these crises areas with such downplays. Be reminded that Evil can never lord it over Good forever-It is a decree from God. So, fulanis' reign of terror shall certainly come to and end; either voluntarily or by force. It's just a matter of time. |
gtrust: I think it's all lack of knowledge on the Fulanis.Fulanis are not interested in ranches, they believe that such confinement would scuttle their final drive to totally subdue the "kafiri" tribes of the north. The money they are expending on armament, if invested in the establishment of ranches, would have by now reduced the number of cattle herds roaming the countrysides and destroying crops. You will never hear any fulani man, including the well-informed among them, discussing the establishment of ranches for/by their animal herding brethren. What they want is grazing fields to be sited on the lush greens where already established farmers derive their means of livelihood. Their brothers/sisters in the national assembly are pushing for a bill that would allow them unhindered access to peoples' farmlands, particularly in Nassarawa and Benue. Their attack on local communities are deliberately aimed at weakening resistance from locals who, tired of losing their loved ones on daily basis, would give in to dialogues that would be dictated by fulanis. They are having it easy at the moment, but it might not end the way they anticipated. By the grace of God! |
Thank God, the military is getting somewhere. Three years ago, large consignments of military uniforms were imported into Kano city through the Aminu Kano international airport. The matter was reported once or twice in some news media but nothing further was heard about it. It appears "Kano's preparations" have been silently building up and would have made Maiduguri's incessant attacks a child's play if this huge arsenal has not been discovered. One hopes the military uniform issue would be revisited to link up the whole loose ends and tidy them up. Kudos to the security forces. |
Iykebestbt: From now on..I will start to exchange greetings with any driver that am about to board his vehicle..failure to reply i don't mind taking after Chioma Ajunwa..There are deaf drivers all over world, they are even better drivers than the "healthy" who would be busy conversing with other passengers or listening to music and veer of the road. Deaf driver concentrate more on their "duty" than the others since they have very few distractions. One who drives an air-conditioned vehicle with closed "windows" is not different from a deaf driver. What should concern us the most ought to be whether or not the driver's sight and mental health are in order. Period! |
Garri the 1st: Uduaghan is Itsekiri... A minority tribe in Delta. Far smaller than the "Delta-Igbo".....Thank you. In the case of Benue, Tivs are one of the cheapest groups to manipulate if one actually does his/her homework well. However, most Idoma leaders, prominent among them David Mark, have never hidden their dislike for the Tivs and have worked assiduously to undermine the Tivs' interest, mostly at federal level where Hausa/fulanis-Tivs' perpetual albatross-hold sway. Check lists of Benue's quota for recruitment exercises into federal establishments over the years and you would wonder why such lopsidedness against Tivs remains unchanged for such a long time. Idomas take 90 percent of all federal jobs allocated to the state all the times. They know the secret of cornering such "slots" but are not ready to share it with the Tivs, so the Tivs population naturally becomes their one "secret" for holding unto the only thing that would ensure they don't lose everything. |
If so, then it is actually difficult to see any dividing lines between the "evil cradling" of the so-called illuminati and the complex kinds and circles of violence that have become muslims' trademarks for expressing discontent. What about the recent incident in Syria in which a rebel soldier was seen eating the heart of a dead Syrian govt soldier? What of the shooting of a young girl by the Taliban in Pakistan just because she "campaigned" for girl-child education? Femi Fani-Kayode also saw nothing worth writing about the "ThisDay" bomber whose only regret over the attack on the newspaper house is that he did not die in the explosion and so missed the opportunity to be in Heaven. What stopped the UK govt from using the "London Bombing" of trains and buses by islamic terrorists to witch hunt or muslims of the country when those attacks killed hundreds of people, not just one person as is this case?. Whatever Femi Fani-Kayode wants his readers to believe is lost in the messy antecedents of many followers of Islamic religion in recent times. |
pulel: Part 1: Omobatse 1 - FUlani 0"...fulanis are all over west Africa, and united". Very intimidating 'credentials'; large population and unity. Except that they don't seem keen in making friends with the more populous larger world beyond west Africa. What this implies is that fulanis will not hold sway forever, particularly in places populated mostly by those who owe no allegiance to their Caliphs. In the main time, they can continue with the killing sprees, which they enjoy with pride. But, time shall tell. |
Authen: They should ask Benue people."They should ask Benue people" about what? I hope you are not celebrating the mass murder of helpless villagers around Doma and Guma...? |
