They, the northern emirs, don't include fulani terrorism on the Christian villagers of the middle belt in their discussions. I believe it's because the fulanis are winning the battles, so far. BH is receiving some "pounding" from security forces so the call for amnesty isn't surprising. Let the ethnic groups in central Nigeria team up against the fulani terrorists and their foreign mercenaries and the same emirs would be the first to call for dialogue. Murderous Hypocrites! |
When security agents fight among themselves, they expose the cracks in our entire security system. It is a pity that years after the military made other security agencies impotent(during the various military regimes), no attempt has been made by the political class to bring all security apparatus under a common orientation. The military still don't have respect for the police; the police don't respect Civil Defence or any of the other Para military Services; Civil Defence holds no respect for Road Safety. All these are signs of a "failed State". Our politicians are too busy looting or too deep into egoistic issues to observe this dangerous trend. Those who think it is proper for soldiers to beat up policemen, or vice versa, are actually exposing their pathetic ignorance. |
Mayor46: Police yesterday confirmed killing of eightpersons in Tuesday’s night attack on Mavo village in Wase local government area of Plateau State.AND: "Jos communal clash: 35 killed, commissioner’s house burnt, 1 kidnapped Written by Isaac Shobayo - Jos http://tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/news/item/7829-jos-communal-clash-35-killed-commissioner-s-house-burnt-1-kidnap THE communal clash between the people of Tarok and Fulani in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State took a frightening dimension on Wednesday with the killing of no fewer than thirty five people, while property worth millions of naira were destroyed on both sides of the divide. It is recalled that two people who are of Tarok origin were killed in the local government area on Monday by those suspected to be Fulani herdsmen and their bodies dumped along Wase –Kadarko road leading to hostilities before the intervention of the men of the Special Task Force. A source close to the local government told Nigerian Tribune that the latest incident was sparked off by some youths on reprisal mission who invaded Mavo village in the early hours of Wednesday, leading to confrontation between the inhabitants of the village and the invaders. In the melee that ensued, the source disclosed that no fewer than thirty five people were killed on both sides while houses and other properties including motorcycles were burnt beyond recognition. One of the houses razed down belong to the serving Commissioner of Water Resources in the state, Alhaji Idi Waziri. An eye witness who escaped by the whisker from the scene of the incident said the clash lasted several hours before men of the Special Task Force got to the village and took over the entire area and as well repelled attackers from advancing to the headquarters of the local government. Nigerian Tribune learnt that both the State Police Command and the Special Task Force in charge of security in the state have deplored more men to the local government while making frantic efforts to restore normalcy to the troubled council area. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Chris Olakpe, confirmed eight people dead in the communal clash, adding that normalcy had since been returned to the affected area. However, the Special Task Force in charge of security in the state, in a statement signed by its media coordinator, Captain Salisu Mustapha, said STF personnel deployed in the area swiftly moved to the scene of the incident and repelled the attack. It pointed out that three of the suspected attackers were arrested and currently undergoing investigation, while efforts were ongoing to apprehend other perpetrators. In a related development, a veterinary officer with Wase Local Government Area of the state was kidnapped by some gunmen and taken hostage. An in-law to the officer, who is a member of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Timothy Golu, told the Nigerian Tribune that the kidnapped victim was on his way back from a village where he had gone to administer vaccine on some cattles belonging to Fulani herdsmen when he was abducted. According to him, he, alongside members of the family, had been communicating with one of the captors, who is in possession of the phone of his in-law, pleading with them to release him, adding that no ransom had been demanded." I'm sure if boko haram too had directed their attacks solely against "Christian villagers" of central Nigeria, they wouldn't be disturbed much by the JTF. Fulanis have chosen well and are enjoying themselves. Time shall tell! |
Bimfo: Guess, U don't Know Anything About MUSLIM/ISLAM as a Religion... (I am a CHRISTIAN by the Way) Ave U ever Stayed wiv a Muslim from the South!? I Guess NO! They are the Most Loving People U Could Ever Meet...! They will Never Cause You any Trouble or Argue with You, Except U wanna Say Stup!!d things about their Religion...!You try. But who stopped them from being what others are? You know so little about these people. People who have been told that their ancestors were conquerors will always want to conquer, especially when their elites tell them they 'own' the land. Add that to the complex Islamic doctrines and you are looking at boko haram and nomadic fulani terrorism. |
ebamma: We talking terrorists here u talking nonsense.Terrorists are the 'senior' brothers of cultists; na d same 'mama' born dem. |
gratiaeo: Nigeria need full military action against this cowards,The "minority" have already been used and dumped, their land is now being occupied inch by inch by nomadic fulanis who compliment boko haram with their brand of terror against hapless villagers in central Nigeria. The climax isn't too far! |
apalemighty: Guy u be learner. Even me won't vote him, talking less of northernersThe crafty and desperate core north will overwhelmingly vote for Mark when they realise they will have no chance in 2015-with the hope that he could be manipulated through IBB. Not that the same permutation worked with OBJ. |
Mark will have to wait till 2019, otherwise he will become a tool in the hands of those who believe in "if you can't have it, destroy it". I want to believe the posters were done without his consent. |
cap28: I am not a medical doctor or an expert on this issue - i merely researched the matter - your best bet would be to access data from the health care authorities in kano and other northern nigerian states that vaccinated thousands of children with those WHO polio vaccines. It's you who made the claim of 'population control' that needed the data to backup your 'allegation'. Failure to do that makes your assertions mere propaganda. |
kyrian omang: .My broda,d constitution makes rum for change of nationality.u can as well change ur nationality. For me dz nufin wrong in pardonin sumbody.from d word 'pardone' itzlf,d idea is to pardone d guilty not d innocent.d guilty who hv bin convicted of an ofence and eida has served or in d process of servin, his sentence-punishmt and has shown penitence and willingnes to contribute positivly to societal growth nfact,d guilty who had become repentant.presidential pardone is for both d rich and poor provided u aply to petition for it&hv servd ur terms of sentnc.dis right of d president is devoid of limitation.who's guiltles.was obj not pardone and d lyks of rebadu?christ himzlf pardoned d woman in d bible and st.paul says al hav sinned...dis man has forfeited al he has and servd his punishmt.from d beginin, nigeria owed dis man a huge apology by illegaly stripin him of his immunity whl as a governor.president gudluck is jos tryin to make right of wrongs done to him.let him go wif christ's injuctin engraved in his hrt 'go and sinned no more'Christ never sinned, and His 'campaign' for the enthronement of love and justice never wavered. The woman who was pardoned by Christ was to be stoned by an equally 'sinning' crowd who had no moral justification over her. That is not saying that GEJ cannot pardon because of his fallibility as a human being, for the constitution empowers him to do that. The contention here is more on the 'quality of the pardon' than the pardon itself. GEJ knows that DSP Alams has a pending case with the British police, so to ignore that is to ignore our relationship with foreign nations and their organisations. Add that to the reluctant fight against corruption in this country and you would be looking at clear reasons why many people are complaining. |
cap28: because it means the black race will go the way of the american indian ie near extinction by the end of the 21st century leaving our land and resources for the europeans as is currently the case in north america, australia, canada and new zealand.Interesting! But has it been really confirmed that the reproductive organs of children who received polio vaccines are no longer productive, or have become less-productive as they become adults? |
Let Bill Gates go & mind his biz,i hv never seen a place were the whole nation is been punish b,cos of one man.
I'm sure if there is a way Mr Gate can reach out directly to newly-born babies with the vaccine, he wouldn't hesitate. Unfortunately, the money or donation of any kind must pass through these thieving govt officials on the way to the needy beneficiaries. So, Mr Gate's 'protest' is in order. |
If the news is true then I laugh at the pettiness of our so-called leaders. Simply advise him to update his knowledge to avoid such embarrassing moments. Is he defective in his duties as a trained officer of the Civil Defence Corps? Eye-service to who dem wan do? |
Murphy T: i see the embolden...de shud just disband them, there are of no useYou will have to "disband" the entire Nigerian society's character and organisational structures before there will be a prospect for producing a better police force among Nigerians. The pitiable psyche of the police is rooted in coups and counter coups of the Nigerian military; a decay that deteriorates more as the entire Nigerian society increasingly exhibits palpable incapacity for righting its wrongs. The Police are frustrated victims, just like any other Nigerians. |
scarred: It saddens me when I witness arguments that have so little to do with the fact, but are rather based on a person's unwillingness or fear to face what is being proposed. For the record, no one is arguing that Boko Haram was formed by the CIA, rather what is being debated is whether they are now being used to lead the war of misdirection which they are the masters at .What we are trying to ascertain is what their agenda for the region is. It is no secret that when it suits the agency they will fund counterinsurgency in order to get what they want (Nicaragua, the Contras). The CIA can't succeed with their "devious agenda" among a people who aren't already brainwashed by their own kind. And, when boko haram started the bombing of Christian worship places, there were similar propaganda portraying Christians as bombers of their own Churches. Now it is the CIA, Who will be next. Only those who are not familiar with propaganda believe such bullshit. |
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Y is it that Nigerians cant tolerate each other? Although they are simply jobless.
Because their thieving and narrow-minded leaders have been too engrossed in the art of stealing public funds to preach the need for oneness and to demonstrate tolerance. That is part of the reason why word "slot" is now holy in the vocabulary of job seekers. Tribal and religious factors determine who among job seekers are on the "slots" allocated to those who are on the helms of the unfortunate 'ship' called 'Nigeria'. |
I'm sure boko haram will demand far more than that when they finally realise how interesting it is to sue the government for "supposedly" extra-judicial killings !
You are such an evil character! Who are you speaking for?...,the devil, no doubt. |
ROSSIKE: 80 per cent of Nigerians are "starving" only in your drug-addled dreams. Dumb idi.ot. And you might as well insult all leaders on earth if you're going to talk about contract inflation and kickbacks. I guess in your drugged up mind that happens only in Nigeria. And of course you would definitely have nothing to do with such practices if you came to power, since you're made of saintly stock. Idiattt. You sound like a sycophant as well as a magomago apologists. |
These animals no dey fear anymore. Beautiful lions tho. I'd have gotten out of my car to play with them.
..meaning you had written your will prior to the encounter. |

ilugunboy: Is this a cultural thing or religious belief ? Why intentionally churning out deformed kids that wont be useful to neither themselves or the society ?It's the devil's way of 'keeping pace' with happenings in the human world..., otherwise, what else is there to justify such horror? |
Brisingr: How,I wonder will social studies now define the term marriage for the younglings since clearly it isn't a union between a man and a woman anymoreLol, it's probably the beginning of the era of "reverse-thinking". It seems the oyibo society has exhausted its share of 'thoughts on morality' and has decided to start from the 'end' back to the beginning. |
seanet01: So much for Christianity.Did Christianity originate from the UK? Bigoted dim-wit! |
Slizbeat: Just saw it on AIT BREAKING NEWS now that ACN, CPC, ANPP, APGA has Finally merged and the new party name is now ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS APC"APC"? Hmm, as in "Amoured Personnel Carrier?...,softly softly o. |
oadah: I see a frustrated tiv man writing garbage.Thank you jare. Instead of blaming his people who have proved incapable of doing what David Mark is doing, even when they held similar position at the federal level, he has the gut to talk against a 'true Nigerian' who would rather pledge his loyalty to his tribal creeds than to that which unity holds out for all. Perhaps he might be consoled by the fact that while Mark and co control the centre his kinsmen control the state; 1-1 draw. That's Nigerian politics for you. |
That one na small thing for David Mark; check the number of his kinsmen recruited into federal establishments since he became the senate president against those from the other tribes in Benue state and you wonder if David Mark's tribesmen are the only intelligent creatures in that state. The majority Tivs of Benue state whose inherent "altruism" has become a 'confusion' in the midst tribal bigots in the likes of Mark have been crying 'wolf' over Mark's "I don't-care" display of tribal bigotry. I call the Tivs' crying "wolf", because they had similar "opportunities" but preferred to allow things to run their normal course. "There are no Nigerians but bickering tribesmen, stranded on a "geographical description", who pledge their loyalties to their respective tribal or religious creeds, rather to that which unity holds out for all". And tomorrow, David Mark and his likes will stand in public arena to talk of the need for 'unity', when they are the ones doing the very things that destroy that unity. |
"Quietly" but Steadily, the fulanis are achieving their aim in central Nigeria: forceful colonisation. Their divide-and-rule tactics have so far paid off. They started by attacking the Tivs whom they have always regarded as their major obstacle to subduing the whole tribes of the Middle Belt. When the Tivs were under attack in Nassarawa and Benue states recently, Alago people provided shelter for the fulanis and their Malian mercenaries, some Alago youths also took part in the attack on Tiv villages. Koro and Eggon people refused to join the fulanis so they too became targets of the attacks. The dual-game plan, as always, is that after the Tivs who constitute more than 70 percent of Doma LGA are chased out, all electoral positions in the affected areas go to the minority Alagos, while the fulanis take over Tiv farm lands as grazing fields. The fulani-sponsored massacres of the Tivs in 2001/2002 across Nassarawa and Taraba states, which culminated into the infamous military invasion of Zaki-Biam, ensured that not a single Tiv man or woman contested for elective posts in the two states. (In Taraba state, the fulanis used the Jukuns). Unknown to the Alagos, the fulanis's selective attack on the Tivs was to avoid having to fight many tribes in their own evironment at the same time. Now that the Tivs have been totally dislodged from Doma, it is the turn of the others, including their former allies-the Alagos, to be chased out. Many Alago (Agatu) communities have been destroyed by invading fulanis and their Malian mercenaries in Doma LGA and a few other places in Nassarawa state. The Rice Mill premises in Lafia is now home to refugees made up of many Alagos, and other tribes. One hopes it one day dawns on the bickering tribes of the region that their survival lies in coming together to free themselves from the fulanis; since govt has clearly demonstrated palpable incapacity to control this wild group of people-The Fulanis. |
nuorlah: It is plain silly to attribute your success to anyone not God.It's equally "plain silly" not to thank anyone whom God used to help you. Would you say 'thanking' a human being is offensive to God? |
mimifonwon: Am surprised all you so called soccer super fans dont know that onazi Nigerian club My People, which was established by Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua for the purpose of promoting talented young footballers. So for giving him the chance to play and make a success of himself, and plus his a father figure to him, wouldnt you say i love you to a man that picked you up from nothing and gave you a chance, I would, i dont know about you all... Shows most of you guys only know trivial crap!!Thank you, Brother. The dim-wits don't think before they write. |
chosen04: Police detectives are studying audio and video tapes of the sermons in which Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheik Ahmad Gumi, asserted that the late governor of Kaduna State, Mr. Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa perished along with former National Security Adviser, General Andrew Azazi while strategizing against Northern Nigerian Muslims, a top security operative has told SaharaReporters. No wonder, Gowon too would have been among the dead, if he had accepted the offer of a 'lift' by a 'young man' in the doomed helicopter. Gumi is now confirming the suspicion that Yakowa and Azizi were murdered. Mali and Somalia, here we come. |
MusicCafe: You are not just living in denial and also cannot hold very intelligent discussion without resolving to name calling. Anyway let me educate you;'Bororojo' can only refute your flawless account with sentiments, not with facts. And, to add to your facts-based comment: Keffi was also one of the fulani jihadists' camp; from where they crossed the river Niger and subdued the Igalas of Idah. They also attempted to establish another camp in Doma, and attempted to raid Keana, in the present Nassarawa state, but were chased out by the Tivs. The Tivs effectively checked their southward advance. It was Lord Lugard's Indirect Rule System, which adopted the emirate model of governance over ethnic nationalities in the north, that once again paved the way for fulanis to continue with their islamisation campaign, but this time, with subtler approach: members of any ethnic group who converted to Islam or pledge unquestioned loyalty to the Caliphate, irrespective of their insignificant numerical strength or level of economic contribution to the British/fulani govt of northern Nigeria, were greatly favoured with appointments; like district heads and tax collectors. This divide-and-rule tactic was clearly a 'vengeful crusade' against the 'recalcitrant' tribes of the region, particularly the Tivs, and a few others, who bluntly refused to subject their independent ways of life to Othman Danfodio's caliphs. It is not out of place to postulate that the Fulbe domineering ego is merely playing out its vengeful predilections through their cattle herders...,to the admiration and 'silent' support of their elites in the townships. Otherwise how could one expect the entire fulani race with professors in various fields of human endeavour not to be aware of the fact that the future of nomadic animal grazing in the modern world is already in its 'death throes'? Let Dangote, in conjunction with governors and other leaders of the north, invest the 300 Billion naira he intends to invest in a fertilizer plant in Edo state in establishing ranches across the country, particularly the core north, and wait to see if his investment will not bring about peace and also triple his profit in the nearest future. There is a palpable silence of conspiracy on the part of Fulani politicians, retired generals and wealthy business tycoons over these killings by their nomadic kith and kins, killings and burnings that are as deadly as boko haram; if not more. Bororojo might wish to present his differing views. |
