ebamma: what do u expect when we have a fisherman's son as president?. What do u mean? What would u say of d President of Pakhistan, Yemen, Afghanistan, Iraq,Syria and other arab/Islamic countries where bombs go off daily, like knockouts on Xmas eve. Blame d religion-Islam, for having no safeguards against such dangerous ideological cravings among its highly segmented adherents. |
2ruink: sons of boko again? why are they after their boko brothers?. That's no longer a strange event within d Islamic enclave; out there in Timbuktu, Mali, members of d Ansar Dine sect, which is an ally of al-qaeda just like boko haram, are busy destroying tombs, mosques and other structures they considered to symbols of opposition to 'Allah''s ways. The only surprising thing in Nigeria's case may be d high level of hypocracy among northern muslim elites who, instead of openly taking side with either boko haram or d govt, are busy talking about 'political boko haram', 'Christians bombing their Churches', etc. |
musKeeto: Thanks I do realise that. Maybe you should check up the meaning of agnosticism.Your last sentence has cleared my 'confusion'. |
musKeeto: Read some of Frosbels latest threads. That guy is heading towards agnosticism.. he may not accept it, but thats how my journey to 'religion freedom' began..If you are trying to separate belief in God from religion then 'fine and good', but if you are lumping the two together and trying to convince anyone that who questions religion questions the reality of God, as can be inferred from the above comment, then you got it wrong. Remember that religion, which is man's ways of worshipping God and obeying His perceived instructions may be wrongly 'constructed; as is clear from the history of crimes committed in the name of God through religious concepts. God is different from religion. |
Davoo36: GOD ALMIGHTY WILL JUDGE U ALL FOR CRITICIZING MAN OF GOD. HW THERE U PUT CRITICS TO THE MAN OF GOD U ARE INVARIABLY CONDEMING UR SELF, TAKE IT OR LEAVE DESSIST FROM CONDEMING PASTORS, STOP IT!Don't mind them. The spiritually empty are usually full of doubts, even of their own thoughts and deeds. |
Jenwitemi: I totally disagree with you here, bro. There is nothing like "human spirit" or "animal spirit", bro. Spirit is spirit and it is the same for all living organisms, simple or complex, terrestrial or extra-terrestrial. The spirit remains the same in it's formlessness because it is the ONLY THING IN EXISTENCE.God is ONE SPIRIT besides whom there is none. But the 'one spirit' sends out radiations that are graded into categories, each playing its assigned roles within the framework of creation; the human 'spirit' (maybe you would prefer 'Sub-spirit') also has its identity among these gradations (or radiations from the 'one spirit'). Once these gradations assumed their willed characteristics they develop within defined premises; the human spirit to the human form-which carries all that is needed for its development on earth..., no cross-reincarnation! Therefore, to say that the spirit can choose whatever (physical)form it wishes to experience (physical) reality is to infer that that 'one spirit' has no definite purpose for its existence. |
tobechi20: I just recieved 5 guest from thn grail movement. They came to explain to me some of their doctrines. They spent a gud time explaining re incarnation. To me they did a gud job especialy d way they linkd it wit the bible.howeva, i was mostly absent minded. |
tobechi20: I just recieved 5 guest from thn grail movement. They came to explain to me some of their doctrines. They spent a gud time explaining re incarnation. To me they did a gud job especialy d way they linkd it wit the bible.howeva, i was mostly absent minded.you were really absent-minded, otherwise u would have heard them saying that d human spirit would always reincarnate as human being and not into another form of life. Humanbeings only share only d gross material world with d other creatures but not so in d higher spheres where every thing is defined in its non-material characteristics b4 descending and incarnating through d various species on this earth. So, u can always reincarnate as a humanbeing, but with a personality that is built in line with ur predominant attitude during ur previous earth-life-unless u had put in some effort to redeem or lose what was lost or gained b4 ur death, in which case u reap what u sowed. The human origin is spiritual while d animals are from d animistic, so they can never reincarnate into the other. I hope u would pay a better attention when next d grail people call on u. Thank u. |
werepeLeri: setup by who? conspiracy by who?. By those who have been trying hard to 'prove' that Christians are also involved in d bombing of Churches, and may equally bomb Mosques. So far d 'game' looks pretty unconvincing. Instead of d muslims to join hands with their Christian co-theists to deal with d evil called boko haram in their midst they are busy planning how to be victims. Only a baby can't see that pitiably childish tactic. The bitter reality will certainly be tasted by all of us should we allow this evil ideology to become what its proponents want it to be-our way of life! |
Tadup: in islam there is only one unique God and Muhammad is His messenger. The Holy quran is unchanged not by a single alphabet and will ever remain unchanged till the end of the world and no body can change it because it is protected by Allah. Jesus is a messenger of Allah who came before Muhammad and the bible he brought was not given similar protection as quran by Allah, that is why human being temper with the content of the bible the way they like, removing the chapters that describe Muhammad and how they can identify him and believe in him. This is the major reason why the christians are not on the right path and will ever remain there till they believe in Allah and Muhammad. The usual delusion. If the Quran remains unchanged but does not offer and recipes for love and peace, accommodating every view and actions, provided they are done in the name of Allah and Prophet Mohammed, then you can rest assured that Christians will never believe in that Allah and Mohammed in the Quran. For your information, the Bible is a Holy and perfect book of life; it explains both the good and the bad of human behaviour. The central message however remains that of love and peace. Nigerian Christians have for long endured all sorts of provocations from Islamic sects whose members live among the so-called 'Moderates'and carry out attacks on Churches and individual Christians and run back into the fold. If Islam is a religion of Peace as claimed by its adherents, they would not allow the likes of boko haram and al-qaeda to dwell and flourish among them. Surely, the failure by Islamic scholars to recognise and explain the historical perspective in the quran to ordinary muslims has created rooms for all sorts of interpretations and the violence that have become integral qualities of Islam today. Muslims must separate the time Mohammed started the religion from the realities of today before they could best appreciate their deficiencies and strength. |
Ex Inferis: im refering to the christian bastardization of Isa (AS), that fagg0t they claim is the son of god. that harl0t banging crook they made out of thin air. he who fools them into thinking they can crap all over the place and get away with it simply by drinking his vampiric blood. yeah. that jesus.Conceptually deep, however, the vituperations and unguarded invectives therein indicate a mindset devoid of noble ideals that are the essential elements of a believer in the "most compassionate God". There is only one Jesus (Isa)known to both Christians and muslims, so even if you are referring to the wrong one created by wrong concept of Him by Christians, your choice of words shows that the name Jesus means nothing to you. It may well be that even your "concept" of God is defective. Just an observation. |
lacasa: These bombs are unfortunate aπϑ worse still the president is lacklustre in stopping this. You may be right to some extent but, on the other hand, it can be correctly argued that muslims don't value their lives that is why they allow terrorists to live and flourish among them. Where are these boko haram terrorists staying? Do you think they reside among the Christians and bomb Churches without anyone seeing them? You don't seem to have taken note of the grand conspiracy of silence among the Hausa/Fulani/Kanuri muslims in the north. Why are there no terrorists among the Yoruba muslims in the west, or the Igalas of Kogi state? Are they not using the same Quran? Look, these people have long considered themselves Arabs and they are now acting 'Arabically'. If they wished to be exonerated from blame let them come out and chase these animals from their midst, they know them! |
worm: ^Well, you ended with "Kano? No". At least, that is capable of being interpreted as "it did not happen in kano". So don't blame me for making that comment. And, I have seen Apache helicopters and read newspaper reports or articles where Artillery have been mentioned. Maybe I'm lucky that I haven't been near any place where Artillery has been fired, so I have no idea what it does, and I don't wish to have such an idea. Brief history of 'Apache': it's the name of an Indian tribe found mainly in the US, Mexico and a few South American countries, known for bravery in warfare (In those days), so, I have answered your question. But don't tell me an apache military helicopter flying over a section of kano city must be seen or heard by everyone in that huge town, because the reporter didn't say it fired any shot. |
worm: Wow! unbelievable. I am in Kano right now but i only know about this "breaking news" on nairaland. Sporadic gunshots (may be) because JTF usually raid the suspects houses in the night, but 'Artillery Fire' in Kano? NO.Don't confuse anyone who might really want to know what's going there; someone just sent a message to a friend that his eardrums are paining him because of the boom! boom! and pau!Pau! that have been going since 3 am near his house in kano. By the way, Kano is a big city so just because you don't know what's happening in another part it's not happening at all. |

I continue to ponder the same question: is it because we have no respect for money, so much, that hundreds of thousands of dollars would be given out by security agencies in a sting operation and left in possession of a 'suspect' for months? Lawan is not covered by the immunity clause so why didn't the SSS catch him with the money right there; which would have shortened the now lengthy processes of invitation, begging to recover the 'exhibit', and all what nots? We are mentally muddled-up in this country! |

Nigeria: the smelly rot continues to ooze out! |
Another Okija: How did they know it was the hand of the pastor?!Clap for yourself for being such a passive, unemotional and cold-blooded 'critic' of Pastors and the Church! |
aurenflani: In Damaturu d yobe state capital Muslims are gunned down on a ratio of one muslim par day for sometime now. D must suspicious part of dis is dat with d exception of foreign media no media house in naija takes a second look at this. You can apply and be appointed the Yobe correspondent of any popular news media of your choice. Meanwhile, 'comatose' state of affairs in a country shouldn't be enough reason to bomb Churches or attack anyone, using the Quran as justification. It's simply a manifestation of evil from a religion that has no structure within its main body to take care of dangerous outgrowths like the one we are presently witnessing in Nigeria and elsewhere. Don't try to hoodwink anyone with such unfit comparison. |
NorthSharp: Thanks for this brief but highly informative and largely plausible and unbiased analysis.I don't share your pessimism, or is it optimism? ...considering the fact that those being manipulated shall one day see through the veil of deceit, and shall take steps to return to where they were b4 the arrival of the 'manipulators'. |
Those blaming GEJ are too shallow to appreciate the complex doctrines of Islam, which has no structure within its main body to check those dangerous interpretations and their consequential metamorphoses into murderous sects and sub-sects from its purported singular identity. Islam appears to be a religion in a state of flux. One is tempted to link violence in the religion to the Arab culture of violence which has refused to wear out with time and, instead, have found religion as a handy tool for perpetuating that culture. Most of our muslim fellows in the north consider themselves Arab, or semi-Arabs. That, perhaps, accounts for why Arab and western conflicts spontaneously induce overt or covert reaction from our muslim brothers in the north. Was Jonathan the president when thousands of people trooped out from their homes in Gusau and kano to celebrate the mass murder of nearly 3000 people by Bin Laden's alqaeda terrorists in New York? Jonathan was not in power when female muslim students of a secondary school in Gombe murdered their Christian teacher for allegedly "desecrating" the quran? What about the Miss World riots? These things have been there and have grown symbiotically with similar acts in the Arab/Islamic world. Jonathan is as helpless as anyone of us, as far as religious terrorism is concerned. If we continue to be deceived by the hoodwinking comments of the likes of El-Rufai, we shall continue to remain sitting targets for these brain-washed and blood-thirsty deviants. |
Vanguard must apologise to berom people for using their name erroneously in a 'bloodbath news report'. The crisis was between Alago and Eggon people, both of Nassarawa state. Beroms are in far away plateau and nowhere near Assakio. A little historical perspective might help in understanding how these unfortunate incidents came about and refused to go.Most of the crises in central Nigeria in which land issues are at stake are the legacies of the British/Fulani alliance's divide-and-rule tactics, otherwise known as the Indirect Rule System. It is a historical fact that the Othman Danfodio led Jihad was not successful in penetrating most of the areas that today formed Nassarawa and Taraba states. Therefore, when the British colonialists sought to use the Fulani Caliphate's model of governance over other ethnic groups that had no such centralised system of leadership the Fulanis saw an opportunity to exercise their influence over those tribes that had resisted or defeated them on the battle fields during the Jihad. Their prime target was the Tiv people who had inflicted on them painful defeat during the Jihad, and who were not in the good books of the colonialists because of their tireless resistance to white man' s disregard for their own value systems. Among the tribes under the indirect rule system were those whom the British/fulani alliance had chosen to favour over the others. Men from such favoured tribes were crowned as chiefs and given some level power to decide cases, including land disputes. The Jukuns with an interesting history of kwararafa empire, which the British studied with keen interest, easily fit the cap in the Wukari area. Besides the Kanuri controlled emirate of Lafia, the Alagos were the next favoured tribe under the indirect rule over tribes like Tiv, Koro and a few others. The Tivs whose scattered settlement and egalitarian nature ran counter to the concentrated settlement of most ethnic groups and their centralised system of government fared worse under the indirect rule system as they were completely excluded from membership of council of chiefs. It then became easy for the Fulanis to access land whereever they wanted since these chiefs controlled lands under their jurisdictions and were bound to submit to the wishes of their fulani 'kingmakers'. Therefore, after the British left the Fulanis became the next "colonial masters". The Assakio mayhem is traceable to this submit-to-my-will-I-favour-you tactis of the British/fulani system which saw the more "ammenable" and ambitious Alagos being appointed chiefs over other tribes even in areas where such other tribes had settled long before the Alagos arrived. In the Assakio land dispute, Eggons are saying that the right people to decide who should own the piece of land in dispute are the Koros who were already settled in Assakio before the rest of them, including the Alagos, arrived. See what a foundation that was laid with the bricks of inordinate ambitions is now supporting as a structure! May the love of God, His wisdom and mercy be our guide at all time. Amen! |
Remii: Bro HumblesoulYour views and those of Humblesoul represent the moderate and extreme positions that have remained the bane of mankind's attempt to apply purely religious concepts on every fact of life. Apply Humblesoul's extreme position on moral issues and the resultant effect could be anything but orderly. |
Good luck to EFCC. We are likely to see more arraignments in the coming days. |
alexleo: Here are a list of churches whose messages centres heavily on earthly things rather than heavenly. In these churches, the message of holiness and eternity is hardly preached. They centre much on messages that the world want to hear and need i say that the high level of greed and corruption that has enveloped our country since these churches came out cannot be compared to what it used to be in the good old days when these churches were not there? This is so because they have ignored the words of our Lord Jesus where he said - seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Today they make people to seek prosperity first. They keep telling them the benefits of giving their money to the church without reminding them that no matter the amount of money you give to the work of God , if you dont give your soul to him and live a holy life you are heading to hell. They are so much after the people's money that they cant preach the hard core bible truth so as not to lose them as members which automatically amounts to a reduction in their income. We are not suprised though , because Jesus forewarned us in the scriptures that in the last days many false prophets shall arise and shall deceive many in his name. Today the words of Jesus is being fulfiled as we see in most of these new generation churches. This doesn't give a pass mark to all the old generation churches as some of them have derailed too due to the influence of the new generation churches.A pitiably failed attempt at comedy. poor joker. |
Wisdytech: GOD RULES US! Nigeria should BAN him too from profesering here!!I see that you have personal reasons. What harm has he done to Nigeria as a nation or Nigerians?. anyone who is offended by T B Joshua should go to court. By the way, have many times have you advocated for the "banning" of those politicians who have robbed Nigeria of billions of naira/Dollars? A sentimental and narrow-minded fellow, you are. |
The Cameroonian government has blacklisted Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, saying that he is an agent of satan hoodwinking unsuspecting members of the public with “diabolical miracles”. Cameroon Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr. Henri Eyebe Ayissi, in an official communiqué he issued titled: “The Devil Is In the House”, described T.B. Joshua as a “son of the devil” pretending to be “a man of God.” The minister warned hundreds of Cameroonians, trooping to Lagos, South West Nigeria, for miracles in Joshua’s church, to desist from taking the trip or face the consequences, as the country will not stand by them. The communiqué written in French read in part: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warns those who by naivety or deception of Emmanuel TV’s captivating images, or even those who by hopelessness, envisage taking the pilgrimage to Pastor T.B. Joshua’s Synagogue Church Of All Nations in Lagos, that they will do so at their own risk. “The Cameroonian Government warns these pilgrims that they will face the consequences alone. This is motivated by the painful and shameful fact that Cameroonian men and women, in search of deliverance and blessings, once in that church, find themselves in bestial and pitiable conditions. “Women are raped; pilgrims dispossessed of their belongings by armed robbers and left to sleep on the streets at the mercy of gangs. Many cases of assassinations have even been recorded. And this is without other cases that are not recorded at the Cameroonian Embassy in Lagos with the victims too ashamed to narrate their infernal odysseys once they are out of Hell,” the minister said. The minister said that while the bible asks us to be discreet with gifts and donations to the poor, T.B. Joshua is seen daily dolling out bags of rice to indigent people. It was learnt that hundreds of Cameroonians who sold their properties or borrowed money in the hope of getting miracles in T.B. Joshua’s Church, only got disappointed in Lagos. It was also reported that Prophet TB Joshua’s TV station has gained popularity in Cameroon and many people are tempted to take the trip and receive healings and sudden blessings. It says that Joshua is now in many households in Cameroon and many people believe the flashy images they watch on television. http://www.leadership.ng/nga/articles/23915/2012/05/07/tb_joshua_officially_banned_cameroun.html
So, the cameroonian foreign minister has become an "anointed" man of God with the powers of discerning genuine and fake prophets. Were those cameroonians dispossessed of their belongings inside the Church? This is a direct indictment of the government of Nigeria which is responsible for the security of life and property of its citizens and visitors. T B Joshua does not claim to be God who can be everywhere at the same time. I pity those cameroonians whose desire for spiritual freedom is now being threatened by their own govt. Very soon the same govt will deny that statement. Allies of ousted president Gbagbo have just come and apologised to T B Joshua for ignoring the invitation he extended to Gbagbo during the crises that led to his ouster and detention. Spiritual issues are vague to those who concentrate only on the physical. Such people deserve sympathy. |

cold: Seriously, this is ridiculous & ludicrous. It paints God as lazy & idle. There are millions of malnourished kids dying out there,Christians/Muslims dying from constant terror attacks,Million others dying from natural & man made disasters & all God can think about is football?Vigorously smhWhere the leaders have refused to do the things that could make the people happy, little things that assuage their pains become important. Football has become the balm that eases the pains of poor Nigerians who are daily inundated with news of stolen billions and probe panels that only serve as channels for further stealing. There is no Church in this country that does the kind of charity work T B Joshua and his Church have been doing. Only recently, he doled out trailers load of rice to Muslim communities in Borno, kaduna and other states in the north; that is besides the numerous charity programs, including scholarships, which are the hallmark of SCOAN. Terrorism is a product of distorted perception of God for which religious leaders from the areas where it started and grew into a monster should be held responsible. What has TB Joshua got to do with that? Are humans not free to make their choices again. Think before you write. |
My brain has become so numb from all the bomb attacks and mass killings, that I feel sleepy when they happen these days. Anyway, I'm beginning to get the feeling our Southern media has got some deep bias against the Fulani on these Middle-Belt conflicts, cuz according to my cousin (camping in Jos), the Beroms are actually killing MORE Fulani than documented. And as far as 'Frags' (killings, body counts) go, it's roughly on a ratio of 9:2 in favor of the Beroms. He says Beroms are killing the Fulani like it's going out of fashion! But these kkillings get very little media attention. He told me this, only last weekend. And I've learned to tone down my anger against the 'Hausa-Fulani' (on the Middle-Belt crisis) since then.
You don't have any cousin in Jos, but if you have he/she knows nothing about what is going on in central Nigeria, and even the entire country. Has your cousin also informed you that the attacks on the Sayyawa people of Bauchi state, the minority tribes of Kaduna state and on the Tivs of Taraba, Nassarwa and Benue states got anything to do with stealing of cattle or killing of the fulanis? I suspect you are one of the propaganda agents of the armed Fulbe tribes on nairaland. No doubt about it. They should replace you with people like Mai-Suya because you aren't doing a good job for them. |
naptu2: The Spanish Government hurriedly blamed ETA for the Madrid bombings. Police evidence later showed that Al-Qaeda were responsible. This led to the fall of the spanish government.Right! Lets encourage the news media to start using terms like "Criminals have attacked x", "a criminal group calling itself boko haram claimed responsibility for the bomb attack on Y". With that kind of reporting those 'vague' religionists who can't identify evil from good would think twice b4 approaching authorities for negotiation with a 'criminal organisation. The IGP is right. |
Nahumaira: This bomb blast at B.U.K must to be set up.they just want to jeopadize the existing the peace & unity between muslims & christians. There is no setup here beyond the ideology of boko haram which is intolerant of anything that does not answer to its concept of God and religious practices. It is time all lovers of peace come out plainly against this devilish sect, irrespective of religious divides. |
