Ramtzy: People should stop comparing Christianity with Islam as their purpose in life is different.

Christianity is for the salvation of flesh, why Islam is for the salvation of soul

Imaging the pastors who are meant to be the custodians of Christianity faith....
In the name of Jesus Christ; pastor solemnize gay/lesbian couple in the church... to christian it's ok
In the name of Jesus Christ; Half-naked woman(in the name of wedding gown) perform white wedding in the church...pastor proudly join them together
In the name of Jesus Christ; Pastor perform magic called miracle in the church.....to christian is God's wonders
In the name of Jesus Christ; pastor turned celebrity and hero worshiping.....to Christian it's Man of God
and many more.
A religion that choose to believe in part of His divine law rather than the whole revelation is never a means to eternal salvation for mankind

Funny enough..
A christian only submit totally to the will of God in term of Death(obituary announcement) outside that..no way! because He/She believe God's purpose(wealth & riches) in his/her life must be fulfill (a typical Christian's answer if asked the purpose of his/her creation on earth)

We know in Christianity anything goes i.e discretion of bible, dehumane of Jesus Christ, gay marriage, alcoholic, lesbianism, etc but
Please let the sleeping lie & stop provoking the Muslims; just like the holocaust is sacred to the Jew, so is Quran & Prophet Muhammad(SAW) sacred to the Muslim
You wandered deep into the recesses of human concepts of God without making use of such deep insights to preach against violence; for there is no form of moral corruption that is as destructive as violence. If your views represent those of every muslim then mankind is really in for a long and painful drift towards self-destruction.

Gorrbachev: Winston Churchill on Islam (from his book The River War, 1899):

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world.
But here in Nigeria, Churchill's "grandparents", Lord Lugard and his wife, had promoted Mohammedans above others, using the emirate system with its Mohammedan creeds to govern the different ethnic groups that made up what is today called Middle-Belt, irrespective of inherent contradictions clearly visible in the systems in practice among these various "Others" and that of the Mohammedans. Consequently, those who refused to change their independent ways of life became enemies of both British colonialists and, subsequently, their Caliph sub-colonialists.

Maybe Churchill could have done better than Lord Lugard.

Any building with gas-filled air-conditioners in every room, no matter how strong it is, would crumble like a pack of cards when thousands of gallons of aviation fuel penetrates its wall with great and vibrating impact and explode, sending volumes of the highly inflammable liquid gas down into mostly tightly-closed rooms which, combined with the now leaking gas from air-conditioner and other inflammable materials, added more explosive power that surpassed any conventional bomb ever built any where in the world.

Let's not allow this cold-blooded hate-induced propaganda of some fundamentalist Arab individuals and nations to affect our capacity for objectiveness in this matter.
PoliticsRe: Fulani Herdsmen Demand Land Rights In 36 States by rawtruth(m): 6:03pm On Sep 09, 2012
It is not going to be easy to convince the Fulanis to change their method of grazing which allow them free access to the lush greens of central Nigeria and beyond. Fulanis in this country believe that Nigeria is a "conquered territory" of the their forefather, the late Othman Danfodio so they have the right to move to any part of the country and graze their animals unhindered. Successive govts of this country, which have been dominated by Fulanis, have never made efforts to erase this impression. Rather, a powerful organisation, The Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association Of Nigeria which has the Sultan of Sokoto as its patron, was formed to protect the interest of fulani cattle herders wherever they choose to graze in the country.

As late as 1983, nomadic cattle herders had no permanent presence in states like Benue, Nassarawa, Plateau and the lower parts of Taraba states.A few of them usually went to these places between January and March and would leave at the approach of the farming season. The reason was this: they had enough grazing land up there in the far-north to cater for their needs, so only those of them with more adventurous spirit bothered to go to such places to graze on the more nutritious grass.

The other set of long distance travellers were the traders among them who moved cattle herds to the south and the west, selling them along the way and using the opportunity to graze and breed their animals. As is their nomadic culture, they travelled with their families. In order to facilitate their free movements, govt in conjunction with various communities across the country created passage ways for the nomads to avoid straying animals trampling on farm crops. Even then there were still minor crises, but they were quickly and easily resolved.

However, due to desertification which has been rapidly expanding across many parts of the core-north, mass movement of nomadic fulanis and their cattle herds south/westwards became inevitable. But the fulanis failed to take into consideration, while moving to the new places, the issue of land ownership; their mostly aggressive posture when arguing with resident farmers reminded enlightened folks among these villagers of the "conquered territory" statement made by late Sir Ahmadu Bello and published in the Parrot Newspaper of 11th. October 1960.

To complicate and aggravate the already tense situation, thousands of foreign cattle herders, running from desertification in their respective countries, and who are of Fula (Fulani) descent, have been trooping freely into the country unchecked. Such new arrivals are quickly assimilated and inducted into the cattle breeders' union in the country and directed to link up with the local Ardos (Fulani community leaders)who showed them where to graze without consulting leaders of the resident communities. One interesting aspect to this "business" is that the foreign herders pay huge sum of money to the 'ardos', besides the regular dues paid by every cattle owner to the umbrella union-MACABAN. That is why the Alhaji Sale Bayari-led Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association Of Nigeria has never complained of the invasion by foreign nomads, most of whom bore assorted arms and ammunition.

Therefore, the request by the fulanis to be given lands in each of the 36 states of the federation is merely to re-emphasise their long-held belief that they are the Patriachs of the 'Nigerian family' so they deserve preferential treatment. By the way, they have already forcefully taken over lands belonging to some Tiv communities around Rukubi, Doma local govt area of Nassarawa state, after a massacre of over a hundred of these villagers early this year. An incident that has remained unreported. Any doubting thomas can check it out:

TIV HOMES AND VILLAGES, IN AND AROUND RUKUBI TOWN IN DOMA LGA,NASSARAWA STATE, REMAIN DESERTED AFTER THE MASSACRE OF OVER A HUNDRED WOMEN AND CHILDREN WHO WERE FLEEING IN GROUP. THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE NEAR A TIV VILLAGE CALLED 'AJIMAKA'. SOME SOLDIERS WHO WERE STATIONED IN RUKUBI TOWN BUT WERE "UNABLE" TO PROTECT THE TIVS AND THEIR PROPERTY WERE BEGGED BY SOME TIV YOUTHS BEFORE THEY ACCOMPANIED THEM FOR THE MAKE-SHIFT BURIAL OF THE VICTIMS IN SHALLOW MASS GRAVES. NOMADS ARE NOW GRAZING FREELY ON ABANDONED TIV FARM LANDS!. NIGERIA WE HAIL THEE!

The solution lies in ranches. There is enough land in this country, particularly in the far north, for the fulanis to establish ranches and settle down in relative peace. Should they insist on getting land in the '36 states', they should be allowed to negotiate and buy such lands from farmers in 'fair deals'. Only then can there be peace and harmony among cattle herders and farmers. We are no longer in 1804.

This is very interesting; I live in Benue and, incidentally, in the area where some of the rural roads were "constructed" by Okupe's Consultancy Firm-cum-Constructions Company, but I haven't seen any of the "constructed" rural roads. The Uni Agric-Gbajumba road which is one of the "Okupe roads' remains as it was before George Akume became the state governor. The only rural roads that have actually been constructed are those embarked upon by Gov Gabriel Suswam in parts of the state. Maybe God wants to use the "Okupe drama" to expose the massive and horrible fraud committed by the George Akume administration which have remained curiously shielded from publicity and from the EFCC.

We are waiting to see who is going to testify, or has certified, that Okupe actually constructed the said roads.

And in the same broadcast, an M.U.M.U like George Akume would say that BH is not a terrorist organization!

SMH
The likes of George Akume will never learn from history. His people, the Tivs, have more than any other tribe in the north suffered marginalisation in the hands of the "Almighty" Caliphate for refusing to bow to 'Allah'. Yet, he (Akume) continues to play 'boy boy', clearly for his selfish interest. Even David Mark whose people, the Idomas, have been enjoying the the Caliphate's divide and rule fall-outs, through favoured federal employments, has seen the handwriting on the wall; his comment about boko haram which drew the ire of many prominent muslim leaders from the north shows he is no longer at ease with the core-north and its contraptions. Akume and his likes are alone in their hallucinations, the average Tiv persons remain wary of these jihadists whom their ancestors chased away with poison-tip arrows around Doma and Keana towards Keffi, where they crossed the River Niger and captured Idah; accounting for why boko haram has found Kogi a fertile breeding ground.

Boko haram is an extension of the terror that Othman Danfodio brought into Nigeria in 1804.

The fulanis see nomadic cattle rearing beyond the availability of grazing land; they see it as a way of penetrating and dominating those who could not be subdued by the Othman Dan Fodio jihad. That is why any talk about ranches don't interest them. Their 'big brothers' in govt are behind all this. Otherwise, how could one explain their silence when grazing related crises are destroying lives and property on both sides and rendering the prospect of further access to grazing lands by the fulanis even more tedious? One can hear the background voices telling the fulanis not to worry, 'whether they like it or not we shall graze wherever we want'. This is an attitude that has for long closed their eyes to the benefits of modern ways of animal breeding.

It is a wonder that Fulanis have refused to see into the future where their present nomadic culture shall have no accommodation, and no relevance to humans' collective resolve to dump such primitive and harmful practices which are destructive to the environment.
PoliticsRe: Senators Fight Over Grazing Land For Fulani Herdsmen by rawtruth(m): 12:41pm On Jul 21, 2012
"Grazing reserves in all parts of the country"? What about the vast and empty acres of land in the core north? Can't such places be demarcated, re-grassed and provided with basic amenities for nomadic fulanis and their cattle?.

I have always reminded us on this forum that the Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association is a Pan-Fulani umbrella body which protect the interest of nomadic Fulanis all over Africa wherever they are, and does not respect the rights of sedentary communities. In Sub-Sahara Africa, Nigeria remains the only country with vast green grassland. Therefore, this umbrella fulani union deliberately embarked on massive "importation" of their kith and kins from desert/war-hit countries in the region into Nigeria as a show of solidarity. This solidarity is evident from the fact that even though most of the fulanis on rampage in this country are foreigners the cattle union led by Sale Bayeri,(with the Sultan as the Patron)has chosen to remain silent. Instead, Bayeri is either vowing that "Fulanis can't be stopped from grazing in Benue areas"-(Daily Trust of November 25th.2011, or blaming Plateau state govt for the killings in that state.

Until govt picks the courage to tell the fulanis that the days of primitive grazing are over and so cattle owners must return to their original places of abode to be taught new methods of animal breeding or buy parcels of land from natives to establish ranches (with govt financial assistance), the Darfur scenario is bound to unfold here. And, not in the far future.

The fulanis have been using RPGs against the Tivs of Nassarawa and Benue state since 2011, but since attacks on the Tivs have always been down-played by Federal authorities this one in Jos would certainly continue to make headlines. The police in Benue state can confirm it.

This is another proof that boko haram and fulanis have a common agenda and a common source from which they get their arms.
So are we saying that the Fulanis in Plateau state should be forcefully evacuated ? BS!!! This is one Nigeria. If the plateau state government are allowed to do this then other state government would want to follow suite and this is wrong in a united country. If the STF in Plateau carries this out then Kogi , Kwara , Ogun and Oyo would also want to forcefully evacuate the Fulanis that have been in their state for YEARS.
You got it wrong! Not all Fulanis in Plateau state. If you had carefully read the statement of STF you would have seen names of particular villages concerned. Security forces must have done their homework well before coming to that decision, so it isn't proper for anyone to become suddenly emotional and start issuing condemnations.

Blame the Miyeti Allah cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria who, in the name of Pan-Fulani solidarity, invites and protects all types of fulanis from across Sub-Sahara Africa into the country; ostensibly to help them 'conquer' the vast green vegetation of central Nigeria. In 2001/2002, fulanis sponsored Jukuns and Alago tribes to uproot the Tivs from Taraba and Nassarawa states. Thousands of Tivs were murdered and their homes destroyed. The then National Security Adviser, Rtd General Gusau, a fulani man, fed the erratic OBJ with doctored security reports that eventually led to the invasion of Zaki-Biam and other towns in Benue state. While the killings were still on, fulani herdsmen invaded abandoned Tiv farms with their animals, looting and destroyed economic trees. Apart from the southern people and their print media, no one from the fulanis' array of prominent persons condemned that genocide.

While dialogue remains the best way of resolving crises, those who prefer violence, as demonstrated by boko haram and fulani militias, must be forced to submit to the collective resolve of all citizens to live in peace in a one and united Nigeria.

I SUGGEST THAT YOU, AND EVERYONE ON THIS FORUM, OPEN THIS LINK TO LOOK AT 'WHY' GOVT IS BEGINNING TO SHOW SOME SORT OF ANGER: http://www.anglicandioceseofjos.org/dogo.html

SmoothCrim: I ultimately agree with the conclusions of the committee. The real issue is economics. Solve that and there would not be a problem. The North is much poorer than the South and that is where the problem starts. Another problem is there are too many distinct ethnic groups who don't have much of a relationship with each other prior to colonialism thus, there is a real mess of trying to create that now. On top of that when Tyou add corruption and the desire for power(the people be damned) you get what is ultimately a failed state which can't secure it's borders, can't give its citizens needed resources(in the midst of abundance) and other ills. Those who suffer the most from this is the common Northerner which is suffering from extreme poverty when compared to the South.
Who forced poverty on the north? They send kids to bearded mallams at tender age where they grow up learning to beg, and to become intolerably indoctrinated, what then would you expect from them? Would you compare them to the more ambitious southerners who send their children to study western education (Haram), or to learn panel-beating, welding, etc,?

And, the elites there encourage the almajiri system by taking care of these mallams financially. They praise the mallams for jobs well done. Ironically, their own kids have special part-time mallams who come to their houses only when invited so that the kids' western education would not be disrupted. This is how the super-rich politicians and business tycoons of the north leash children of the poor to the stem of poverty. These kids are now the hounds that have been let loose on Nigerians.

The Miyeti Cattle Breeders Association is a pan-Fula (Fulani) union. The Fula dominate the population of the entire West African region; they have their system of govt and are more loyal to their union than to the constituted govts of the various countries where they live or migrate to; war-torn countries like Chad, Niger, Mali, etc, have rebel groups with Fula or Tuareg links; these arms are sold cheaply by these hungry rebels to willing buyers, or they may be contributed to the 'Fulani cause' by their kinsmen in these countries; they move freely from one country to another in search of green grass; their belongings are tied on the backs of their cows and are sometimes escorted from one place to another, within the country, by soldiers or police with these loads on the back of their cows without being searched..., you can sum up the rest.

This Sale Bayeri is lucky that Nigeria is a country in confusion, otherwise why did the govt arrest the spokesman of boko haram and declared its other leaders and on the other hand allowed the spokesman of another terror group-fulani herdsmen-to be walking free and granting interviews to pressmen? This same Bayeri had granted an interview to the press which was carried in the Daily Trust of November 25th. 2011 in which he threatened that "Fulanis can't be stopped from grazing in Benue areas". A few days later heavily armed fulani militias, armed with shoulder rockets and others automatic weapons, invaded three local govts in Benue state within a space of three weeks killing more than 150 persons, including women and kids, and burning hundreds of homes.

A few soldiers from 72 para troop Battalion who were drafted to protect a Catholic mission in Udei, Guma local govt, attempted to stop the fulanis' advance towards the mission and in the process two of them were killed. But, somehow, the soldiers' attempt saved the mission and the surrounding communities as they were forced to retreat. Soldiers reinforced and got a number of them killed while many were arrested and taken alive to 72 barracks Makurdi. Surprisingly, the commanding officer 72 batt, a fulani man, did not hand over the arrested fulanis and their mercenaries to the police as is the normal practice, but, instead, transferred eitght Tiv youths whom some soldiers arrested around Udei settlement for having some local guns and cutlasses (obviously for safe defence) and handed them to the police as the killers of his soldiers. Some Tiv traditional rulers had protest to the state governor before the c o was compelled to hand over eight of the real culprits to the police, but without any weapons. The dead bodies of the militias disappeared from the army Barracks. A few days later, the eight fulani militias that were handed to the police mysteriously gained freedom while the Tiv boys were taken to court. Shortly after this, Bayeri issued another statement denying the involvement of the fulanis involvement in the soldiers' death. But he was silent over who were behind the attcks on those Tiv villages. These are verifiable facts!

One is therefore not surprised that the same Bayeri has made similar statement in defence of his terror group.

And, let it be known to everyone that boko haram and fulani militias have already joined forces to complete what Othman Dan Fodio started centuries ago, no doubt about that! That boko haram has claimed responsibility is merely a ploy to divert attention and pressure away from their co-travellers-the fulanis-because of their vulnerability to reprisals from communities across the country. Bayeri ought to be be in jail.

nagoma: Grazing reserves in other coutries of the world are made by legislation and animal rearing as a huge potential sector for economic development would normally be well regulated and opened to modernization by any caring government. To say that the Fulanis dont want that is like saying my village dont want electricity because we enjoy using our bush lamps. Instead of all this politicking and paranoea , I will suggest that you tell the surviving senators to move towards people oriented legislation and for the executive to implement people oriented policies and the judiciary to do their work. This may solve not only the grazing reserve problem but also the lack of electricity supply in my village, and perhaps in yours too..
Well said, but then who should, economically speaking, be more obliged to initiate and ensure the implementation of such a legislation? Is it the wandering nomads who continue to encounter difficulties in getting their animals fed in the face of increasing human population and its attendant needs for more crop-food production on farmlands that must be expanded, or the sedentary villagers who occupied those places long before the Fulanis wandered in?

It is an indisputable fact that the people who made up the various govts of this country, both military and civil, had, and still have, in their ranks individuals who have huge interest in cattle business, so why did they not make such a legislation a priority in spite of its huge economic benefits? You may fault my analysis since no one advertises such dubious ambition, but the points I have made here should get you wondering why no serious efforts are been made even by those who actually stand to harvest more economic benefits from such a legislation: nomadic cattle herders.
PoliticsRe: 50 Corpses Discovered In Pastor's House In Plateau. by rawtruth(m): 9:49am On Jul 09, 2012
owobokiri: Not the most politically correct statement to make, but i'll go ahead anyway: Untill Nigerians realise the urgent need to solve the fulani problem firmly and ruthlessly, this beutiful country won't make one positive step forward. Untill a conscious and effective move is made to reverse the monumental gains made at the expense of Nigerias dignity by Uthman Danfodio and his ideologically forward sons, we will always be left with stuff like this.

The fulani has got the numbers and the goodwill to move west Africa to the right direction. But they are pulling everybody backwards and it all boils down to a penchant to conquer and dominate. A crude habit that dates back to their early contacts with arab warriors. They have always been like this ever since. They are not changing. To a great extent, it can be said that they are victims of their culture. High time we realise that these people need to be saved from themselves,
A brief but interesting intellectual treatise, this is. How can we save an internationally connected organisation like the Miyeti Allah cattle Breeders Association which has branches all over Sub-Sahara Africa and has its own system of govt? These people are more loyal to the 'Fulani cause' than to the unity and Constitutions of the various countries where they fund themselves. Their refusal to embrace modern ways of animal breeding is deliberate and aimed at taking over the vast grass land of the region, with the attendant 'benefits' of subjugating those tribes that refused to convert to Islam after surviving Othman Danfodio's Islmisation wars.

Also, desertification in most countries of the Fulani dominated Sub-Sahara Africa has added desperation to this dubious ambition, making it more complex. How much would it cost to establish ranches or gazing reserves with modern facilities where cattle herds would be confined and isolated from farm lands? The combined cost of security operations, loss of lives and properties destroyed in these crises is much more than what could have been used to establish grazing facilities for all the fulanis in this country. Clearly, the world-wide Fula (Fulani) union don't want this, they believe that such an arrangement could isolate them and end their goal of 'cowing' the 'kafiri' tribes in these regions/countries. Therefore, the fulanis need no 'saving them from themselves', they know what they are doing. The practical thing however is for ethnic nationalities in the Middle-Belt to come together and defend themselves, otherwise they would end up like the sedentary tribes of Darfur, Sudan, where nomadic Arabs tribes formed a militia called 'supporter of APC' which has committed genocide against the helpless villagers in that region in order to take over their lands for grazing. The UN is now maintaining peace in that part of Sudan. With the way things are going on here such a scenario might not be far from unfolding in central Nigeria.

dvee2: WHO IS THIS SAYING THE KILLINGS ARE NOT DONE BY THE FULANIS? THIS HAS ALL THE SMELL OF A FULANI RAID. THE INTELLIGENT QUESTION I WANT US TO ASK IS THAT WHY THE KILLINGS IN THESE THREE LGA ALWAYS? PLATEAU STATE HAS ABOUT 16 LGA'S, WHY IS ONLY B/LADI,AND RIYOM DISTRCTS BEING FREQUENTLY UNDER ATTACKS BY THE FULANIS? THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE FOR AN OBJECTIVE AND UNBIASE RESEACHER.
BACKGROUND- THE FULANIS HAVE SEVERAL HAMLETS SCATTERED ARROUND KURU,BARKIN LADI AND RIYOM.THESE FULANIS HAVE LIVED HUNDREDS OF YEARS IN PEACE WITH THEIR BEROM NEIGHBOURS.
FAST FORWARD- THERE WAS CRISIS BETWEEN HAUSA AND INDIGENES/BEROMS IN JOS NORTH. MIND YOU I SAID CRISIS BETWEEN HAUSA AND BEROMS NOT FULANI AND BEROM BECAUSE THIS CLARIFICATION IS NECESSARY FOR OUR SOUTHERN BROTHERS WHO TEND TO LUMP HAUSA/FULANI TOGETHER.SOMETIMES IT THEY DONT FOLLOW TOGETHER. NOW BECAUSE OF THE CRISIS IN JOS NORTH, THE BEROMS NOW HAVE EXTERMINATED ALL THE WOMEN,CHILDREN AND CATTLE OF THE FULANIS IN THE WHOLE OF KURU,B/LADI AND RIYOM. THIS IS THE GENESIS OF THE FULANI REPRAISAL ATTACK IN THESE REGION. I AM NOT HAUSA,I AM NOT FULANI,I HAVE WITNESS THE MURDER OF FULANIS IN B/LADI ON MY WAY TO JOS FROM HAIPANG AIRPORT IN B/LADI. FOR ME THIS IS NOT A JUSTIFICATION FOR THE KILLINGS OF HUMAN BEINGS CHILDREN,AND WOMEN INCLUSIVE BY THE FULANIS. BUT ITS A NECESSARY ANALYSIS OF THE SITUATION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS HAPPENING IN JOS. BOTH SIDE HAVE KILLED AND ARE STILL KILLING. BOTH SIDE HAVE BLOOD IN THEIR HANDS, UNTIL OUR NEWSPAPERS LIVE UP TO THEIR CODE OF PROFESSIONAL ETHIC AND REPORT WITHOUT TAKING SIDE,WE WILL NEVER SEE AN END TO THE JOS BLOODSHED.MAY THEIR SOUL REST IN PEACE.
And what about the Tivs of Taraba, Nassarawa, and now Benue state who have suffered similar attacks from fulanis with high death toll, particularly those from a local govt called Gwer-West? Your analysis would have remained unquestioned if the fulanis have not extended these killings to communities in other states. Or, would you say the Tivs and Koros also did what the beroms allegedly did so your analysis covers those areas too? Just curious.

caye: Some of you are still immature, little children who don't understand what is going on. Let me say: what you are witnessing is the silencing of the Jos elites who want to fight the Hausa/ Fulani genocide, so as to leave open their people without leadership, and thereby become fair game for the killers. What they want is for the people of Jos to feel dominated, thus caving in to their domination. It is what the quran teaches- as a war strategy.
My brother, tell them.

And, not only in Plateau. In Benue, Taraba and Nassarawa state, the fulanis have committed atrocities, mainly against the Tivs, which have equally, and curiously too, not caught the attention of the Federal govt. These people are well organised and have weapons that can match those of the Nigerian military in many respects. The Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria of which the Sultan of Sokoto is the Patron is supposed to be an organisation that mediates for harmonious relationships between farmers and nomadic cattle owners, yet they are always defending and justifying the actions of these heavily armed nomads, instead of the mediating role expected from them.

The fulani/villagers crises in central Nigeria is now like a long fuse that is burning and smoking fast towards the main bomb. Judging by the way the govt at the centre is presently dragging its feet on the issue it might not be long before this region explodes into a devastating conflict similar to the one in Darfur, Sudan, which started under the similar circumstances. May God help us.
As much as I sympathize with the dead. But its important to note that Gowon killing of women and children of Biafra extraction is largely responsible for the war ravaging his home state.
There was civil war in the USA yet they came out of it to become the strongest and most richest country in the world, examples abound of similar instances. Why can't we look beyond such bitterness and consider issues like this on their merits? Are you saying the causes of series of massive killings in the numerous communal and political crises that have taken place in virtually all the regions of this country are traceable to Gowon's 'killing of Biafra women and children'? Some of you young people talk carelessly with thinking of the impression you would create even in the minds of some of your more mature family members.

. Abuja shouldn't have been made one of d venues, Calabar, Lagos, Enugu, Benin, Ibadan, Àbeokuta, Owerri, Makurdi, or even ABA, could have served whatever commercial purpose that is involved. At least Kidnappers are easier to handle than suicide bombers.
Christianity EtcRe: The Fastest Way To Convert A Nigerian Christian Into An Atheist! by rawtruth(m): 11:13am On Jul 05, 2012
logicboy: My uncle used to tell me that God will send me to hell for being an atheist and that all unbelievers will go to hell. The guy used every chance he had to torment me. As a Nigerian parent, the guy always felt that young people in his family should not question him. Stupid Nigerian seniority mentality.

So, it got to a point I could take it no more. So, one sunday afternoon when he had come back from church, I shouted "YOUR MOTHER IS IN HELL". My uncle was shocked.

This is how the conversation went.

Uncle; Are you mad? What is the meaning of that statement?

Logicboy; If I am going to hell as an unbeliever, you pagan mother who died in the village is going to hell!

Uncle; This boy you are looking for trouble, your own grandmother? I will tell your father! Dont let me slap you

(Logicboy moves out of reach)

Logicboy; What? You dont like the bible now? Your mother is in hell. She did not believe in God. She believed in the traditional gods.

Uncle; At least, she believed in something.

Logicboy; Even worse; she broke the 10 commandments. "thou shalt have no other gods before me". She is roasting like suya on a grill grin

Uncle; Sharaap! You're crazy

(Uncle keeps shouting and Logicboy locates the nearest pub.......while drinking his cider, Logicboy wonders if he is drinking to celebrate debunking his uncle or he is drinking the sorrow of the commotion he caused in the house away)

True story......not. Probably fiction

The moral of the story is that;

1) Nigeria is not historically a christian country. Our parents/grandparents/greatgrandparents/ancestors were pagans. To believe that unbelievers go to hell is foolish because you are condemning your parents to hell for some imported religion that is a lie.

2)Logicboy doesnt send or care about age, he will debunk you if you are a religious koran/bible pusher. grin
Hmm, one wonders why it took the Logicbobo such a long time to tell this 'true' story. For, considering your endless hunting expeditions in storyland from where u have been sending to this forum countless tales (and) of woes of God and His believers, such an interesting and personal 'encounter' with your uncle would have certainly made headlines long b4 now. Anyway, u have brought laughter out of many who needed such fun to begin their day.
