Seun: I agree with that. I do not understand why evolutionists are so confident about their guesses about what prehistoric animals looked like. However, that doesn't change the fact that evolution is the best theory about how things came to be. When someone comes up with a better theory, we'll adopt it. That's the difference between science and religion. Science is dynamic. We learn new things every day. We are open to change when new facts emerge. I think some scientists go to far when they try to portray speculative theories as hard facts.Well said. ....And now, atheists have made a 'religion' out of evolution, though without admitting it. |
Piecemeal information, abi? The police said they shot the leader of the gang who was jumping over the fence of his house to escape, and he later died on the way to the hospital; that they recovered some vehicles from the 'gang leader''s house, one of which was the car said to have been used in 'carting' away the Mama. Is something missing or yet to piece together? |
juman: The drunk governor.Small time una go begin say BH members are not muslims. The suspicion is against boko haram who have vowed to eliminate Christians in the north, and they have been carrying out attacks against Churches all the north. Muslim victims are either govt officials 'eating alone' or individuals who speak against them. It is no exaggeration to submit that BH, if not for their attacks on selected muslims, is doing what most muslims regard as 'holy war'. |
wayne4loan: This man must be a prophet of doom , he never prophecy about peace, love and hope.If you are conversant with the Bible, kindly say how many prophets of 'boom' or love and hope, mentioned therein. "Doom' is alien to our nature so warnings of its coming, right from time, are usually issued by prophets so that humans would pray against it, as well as repent of their sins which are the sources of the said 'dooms'. |
morgist: A video purporting that TB Joshua prophesied the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, USA has emerged. The "head" of your post speaks differently from the body. "more of what happened previously (in Colorado,USA) will happen again" is different from "T B Joshua Prophesied That Children Would Be Killed In The USA". |
Sealeddeal: Whether OBJ wants it or not,2015 is for either GEJ or an Igbo man.the north may rally around OBJ but they will surely fail.I share your perspective, generally. OBJ has been trying to break up this country through some devious scheming and, in some cases, outright fueling of crises, beginning from 1999 till date. In 2007, he brought in an ailing Yar'adua who couldn't make it through the first term. Instead of standing behind the north to complete their two terms, as agreed in their PDP-power-sharing-formula, OBJ quickly shifted support to Jonathan; a tactic that was clearly a deliberate 'agent provocateur'; ostensibly to annoy the north whose morbid cravings for power was likely to spur them into taking some stupidly dangerous steps that would throw the country into chaos, chaos that OBJ needed, and still needs, to execute his hidden agenda. We are all witnesses to the post-election riots and the sudden resurgence of boko haram. This was after his infamous military operations against the people of Odi, Zaki-Biam and General Malu's home town had failed to generate the kind of anarchy that he needed to signal his people who have been waiting on the wing that it was time to 'sneak out' of Nigeria. The core north, at the moment, does not possess any moral credential to justify its quest to 'reclaim' the presidency until it can decisively deal with its home-based security issues that are threatening to sever the tiny cords that still hold us together as a nation. They need no fortune teller to tell them to keep off. Therefore, any attempt by OBJ to support the north's desire to produce the next president, come 2015, will be clearly viewed as another of his many attempts at breaking up the country. |
MEANWHILE: New Sect Claims Responsibility For SARS Headquarters Attack In Abuja; 27.11.2012, 14:32 Local Contrary to the national belief that the dreaded sect, Boko Haram was responsible for the bombing of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad's headquarters (SARS) in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, on Monday, another radical Islamist sect- Jama'atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis Sudan has claimed responsibility for the attack. The unedited excerpt of the email claiming responsibility reads: " In the name of Allah most Graciuos most Merciful "The Jama'atu Ansarul Muslimina Fi Biladis-sudan is hereby declaring by Allah's grace to be the responsible for the attack held on 12th Muharram, 1334 - 26th November, 2012, on S.A.R.S. detention facility in Garki area II, Abuja Nigeria. "Allah SWT has obligated us to help those that are oppressed, especially those oppressions that is taking place in the security cells, prisons and other detention centers etc. and has become part of the main functions and basics that form Jama'atu Ansasrul Muslimina fi Biladissudan. "We are stating loud and clear that many of those captured by the Nigerian security or by the Christian in Plateau state such as the women and children in Langtang, Yalwan Shandam etc to mention but a few. by Allah's grace we are matching towards their freedom. "Lastly, we are calling upon all Muslims to come and joined hands with us in carrying out this noble duty that Allah SWT has commanded us to do, Allah SWT said: "And what is the matter with you that you fight not in the cause of ALLAH, and for the feeble among men, and for women and children oppressed…". Nisa'i:75. "Abu Usamatal Ansari (Amir JAMBS)." It would be recalled that the islamic sect first emerged in opposition to Boko Haram's tactics about five months ago, declaring that they oppose the killing of innocent non Muslims except "in self defense or if they attacked Muslims like the cases we have in Jos," but Monday's attack has cast aspersion on the above claims because innocent non-muslims died in the attack. Pakistan, Somalia, Yemen, (Egypt warming up?)..., here we come. |
"...,there are no Nigerians but bickering tribesmen, stranded on a "geographical expression", who pledge loyal to their respective religious or tribal creeds, rather than to that which unity holds out for all"... |
omowolewa: Nigeria need to meet up with her security challenges as the criminal world is growing more desperate and sophisticated!Agreed. But what would one expect from a society whose leaders and followers are not ready to make sacrifices for the collective good. These criminals live among us, most of them have parents, brothers or sisters who benefit from these criminal activities. The neigbour out there is not ready to expose them because he/she doesn't care about such things since he/she is poor and so has nothing that would interest the criminals. Or, sometimes, the fear of being exposed by corroborators among security agencies. Nigerians are all guilty. What we need is a crop of leaders who will be selfless enough to fearlessly tell us how bad we are, and who can demonstrate seriousness in tackling these problems, irrespective of whose toes are marched in the process. |
teniyi: Its not everything that should be linked to the separation of the country, the Berom in the Plateau has murdered sleep and therefore shall sleep no more."The Berom in the Plateau has murdered sleep and therefore shall sleep no more". What about the Tivs of Nassarawa, Taraba and Benue state, and the Eggon/Mada and the Migili (Koro) of Nassarawa state? Have they also "murdered sleep"? Fulanis are simply killing farmers in central Nigeria to take over their farms as grazing fields. Certainly, time will come when these harassed farming tribes will come together to chase these sadistic murderers from their midst. |
Boko Haram proving it has 'come of age'...."car bombs inside the most famous military establishment in the country, JAJI", and now: "gunmen attack SARS detention facility in the Federal Capital Territory"..., all within 24 hours. We are yet to start winning. |
13volts: STOP BLAMING HAUSA FOR KANURI BOKO HARAMA sincre, honest and educative comment. However, why can't the majority Hausa/Fulani Muslims completely remove boko haram from their midst so that we only have Borno and Yobe to worry about? The way things are happening, the kanuris appear to have succeeded in infecting Othman Danfodio' s children with the boko haram virus, which is spreading very fast; with kano as an out-station. And, with the ongoing fulani wars on farmers across central Nigeria, which have the same destructive effect as boko haram-if not more, it becomes more difficult for those who are outside the Othman Danfodio and Borno "Empires" to understand those differences you talked about. Perhaps people with your understanding can start a process of isolating boko haram by educating the teaming Fulani/hausa youths of the region who, otherwise, appear to be getting increasingly fancied by boko haram-cum-Taliban ideology. |
Standing5: Now we should thank the likes of OBJ for postponing the dooms day through some quick thinking. This whole pattern of rubbish could have started from Odi.You got it wrong. or, are you also, like OBJ, laughing at the Odi and Zaki-Biam victims of the OBJ madness? This is an ideological war, you can't win it with indiscriminate killings; these fanatics believe that death hastens their movement towards "Paradise". They only keep themselves alive to "help" others to also get there. Because this is Nigeria, OBJ could roam freely, instead of living in a small cell in the Hague, laughing at dead men, women and kids, many of whom were invited by soldiers for a "peace meeting" in Gbeji village near Zaki-Biam, and murdered in cold-blood. OBJ would have used the Boko Haram madness to break up this country; something for which he had probably been dreaming while in his "Abacha cell". |
cold: No matter the attraction in Borno state.Non Muslims need to get out of there asap!Self preservation of the first law of nature.NON MUSLIMS GET OUT OF BORNO STATE NOW!I couldn't make this any clearerWhat about the indigenous Christians, the Margi tribe, and maybe a few others, who have no homes outside Borno? It's a very complex situation. |
This is getting out of hand. If it has still not dawned on the federal govt that the Pakistani and northern Mali's scenarios are playing out here then we are in for a lengthy period of blind terror. States like Borno, yobe and kano ought to have been placed under complete state of emergency; with Bauchi and Gombe on standby. In kano, the word 'Annebi' from an Igbo tailor who was clearly attempting to express himself in a language he couldn't speak well (Hausa) became a reason for killing of human beings, looting and destruction of property. What difference is there between the Bichi murderers and boko haram? Nigeria shouldn't send any soldier to Mali, we already have our Mali, Pakistan and Afghanistan, put together, here at home. |
Mgbadike80: Barely 24hours after 10ppl were killed,20 ladies on mini skirts and trousers were slaughtered in their different houses between 1am and 2am in maidugri. Details still emerging. Source vanguard newspaper onlineI read it too..., this is getting out of hand. aryzgreat: Religious violence erupts in Kano townBoko haram's reserve troops in action! |
Jimbadly: Very wrong of Mikel. Such a thuggish behaviour from a player of his calibre. Shoudn't have made his claims based on what his fellow team mate told him. I hope he is severely reprimanded.I wonder o..., and what if Ramires denies telling him so? I won't be surprised if, in the end, Ramires is charged for "Amebo". |
cameronese: The AIG's statement is very incoherentIt is 'incoherent' because he is probably a fulani man, or afraid of the 'almighty' fulanis. The fulanis have apparently vowed to sustain their grip on the fate of those tribes (including the Hausa)they had conquered during the Othman Danfodio's jihad. In northern Nigeria, the fear of fulanis is the beginning of wisdom. Citizens of other countries living in areas where nomadic fulanis dominate can confirm this truth. |
Were the soldiers sleeping? OMG, the watch men are sleeping oooo
No!..., they weren't sleeping. Where Fulanis are involved soldiers become curiously inactive. It is only when fulani militia 'accidentally' hit them that they become active. For example: early this year, fulanis tactically evacuated their families and cattle to Cross Rivers state and engaged in uninterrupted attacks on Tiv villages for days in Takum LGA where Soldiers have a permanent presence, but there was no response from these soldiers until two soldiers were inadvertently killed by the fulanis, and their rifles taken away, before soldiers reacted. By then more than ten persons among the Tivs had been killed, with eight of their villages burnt to ashes. Perhaps, that misadventure of the fulanis was the saving grace of the Tivs. The fulani wars on the non-muslim tribes of central Nigeria seemed to be enjoying the support of their brothers in the military who command most of the units that are sent to such troubled areas. Presently, in Nassarawa state, soldiers have been deployed to guard fulani/Alago settlement while fulani militias continue to attack the unprotected Tivs. Today, there is no Tiv village that still remains in Doma LGA where the Tivs constitute more than 70 percent of the population. Fulanis have settled on abandoned Tiv villages and farm lands. The attacks have spilled into Guma in Benue state with more than 20 villages destroyed. All these are happening under the nose of soldiers deployed to the areas. They can only react, swiftly, if Tiv youths attempt to retaliate. This may sound unbelievable, but it is happening live in Doma, Nassarwa state, and parts of Guma, Benue state. Doma is now camp to a collection of armed Malians, Tuaregs (Niger), Senegalese and other Fula (Fulani) tribes of West-Africa, in conjunction with their kith and kins in Nigeria, who have decided to 'conquer' farming communities and their farm lands for grazing. Nigeria has suddenly become a jungle! |
bobbyruffy: How does diz affect d price of fuel in Nigeria?Any disruption of the free-flow of crude oil through the Suez canal to the west will certainly result to an increase in the prices of refined petroleum products in countries that don't refine, or have minimal refining capability. The average Nigerian will, under such circumstances, be made to pay more for fuel, or the 'Cabal' will once again have another opportunity to corner more money through subsidy claims. |
Ibhoes are their own enemy in Naija. I said sth about ibhoes being behind boko haram a few months ago. O ma se!
Which Boko haram would demand for fifty thousand naira and stay put to be arrested? The boy is a desperate criminal and should receive appropriate punishment for his crime. |
Quote: "There are ACRES OF LAND EVERYWHERE IN NIGERIA but OUR LEADER are not interested in making use of this lands and take advantage of the rain but to announce to the already BATTERED citizens of Nigeria that there will be shortage of food. Sad sad and nothing but sad..." Unguote: Meanwhile, these same "leaders" remain silent while fulani herdsmen all over Africa conspire and converge on the arable plains of northern Nigeria, killing hard-working farmers and destroying their properties, while their herds of animals trample arable land into hard-crusted earth, unsuitable for manual farming; particularly across central Nigeria where most of Nigeria's staple food is produced. Thousands of Berom and Tiv farmers in Plateau state and parts of Doma in Nassarawa state, respectively, have not cultivated their lands for the past two farming seasons because of armed nomadic fulanis' activities. Perhaps the 'PDP' hasn't the wisdom to appreciate the negative effect of these fulani wars on food production. Or, maybe they believe cow meat and milk can replace potatoes, millet, guinea-corn, maize, cassava, yam, rice, soya bean, beniseed, etc.,. We haven't seen anything yet! |
One would have thought the death of the two lawmakers from Plateau state through the fulani aggression was enough to prompt the federal govt to resolutely solve the grazing issue once and for all. That didn't happen as the fulanis' demand for grazing land in each state of the federation became an issue in itself, drawing angry reactions from some members of the national assembly, particularly those from the west,south-south and south-east, which forced the national assembly to refer the matter to the a 'standing committee', and, not surprisingly, nothing has been heard of it since then. Last week, another round of attacks targeting the Beroms, and counter attacks from the Beroms, claimed many lives and properties. And, in Tiv land, heavily armed Fulanis and their mercenaries are on, yet again, another killing rampage; they started the burning and killings this morning, October 14th. 2012, on two fronts: One from Tse-Kpanye towards Udei, and the other from Tse-Ikper. and are heading towards Yogbo; all in Guma local govt area of Benue state. The question is: "where do we go from here"? |
Bakreez: My fellow nairalander, please have you taken your time to read about the era of crusade, inqusition and heresy? Please you can find these things on google because i know your pastor will not tell you in church because it is against the primary objectives of the church(get more fools on daily basis since they've chosen not to do research). Whether or not anyone has islamophobia,i care less because i know the so called world powers who are none muslims understand that muslims are peace loving if you dont instigate anything against the religeon or Prophet Muhammad. I hardly hear of any moment where muslims instigate against christianity despite the abundant secrets which the muslim scholars and those who care to know, are aware of.Christians don't deny the inquisition-which did not represent any Christian virtue. Their Pastors, therefore, would rather concentrate more on sermons that produce more peaceful "fools" than spreading sanctimonious mantras which produce individuals or groups that have no respect for human lives. |
nagoma: When exactly did your God start fighting for himself? last year, 10 years ago? Is America now your God. We know that christians fight for their God. Read below about the inquisition, the heracy and blasphemy laws...., and while Christians have regained the distorted core messages that are the hallmarks of their religion; Love, Kindness, Forgiveness, and such other virtues, Muslims are finding it difficulty to move away from that past with its ugly facets. We know of such history but we sincrely wish to put it behind us as one of the many self-imposed tragedies of the human species. You can do better by suggesting the way out of intolerance and violence. |
nagoma: Christians are tired and chritian Ty has been secularized and the zionists have neutralized it. You can deny Jesus now but you can't deny the holocaust or you will be jailed. As recently as early 1900s the blasphemy laws were acive in Europe and inquisition going on. Say anything sounding contrary to the church and you are arrested and you face inquisition and you and your family are tortured to death. Horrible way of killing incude piercing the head with spiked iron rods , burning and dismemberment of limbs. Please google and read about Christian blasphemy laws and the inquisition. The scientist Galeleo was sentenced to death because he said the world was round thus contradicting the bible. I think ignorant Muslims need to be educated to ignore such provocations. But the best would be for all the major world communities and groupings to realize what institution is of value to others and avoid insulting it, if peaceful coexistence is the objective. I sometime think that inciting conflict is the objective. The Inquisition was just another era of the sad human history. Christianity did not start with violence, rather its adherents were either intimidated or hunted and killed by those who feared a new world order in which those institutions that supported and promoted injustice and inequality would become extinct through the acceptance of simple and humble ways of life by the victimised majority. Having failed to contain the fast-spreading religion through intimidation and death, the rulers of the day "commandeered" the religion and infused into it those heinous laws that became the source of pain and death to countless human souls-The Inquisition. However, as was ordained by God, TRUTH survived and the real Christian virtues reemerged, becoming stronger and appealing to the human conscience to make Love and Peace permanent in the affairs of all human beings. On the other hand, Islam started and immediately became engulfed in violence, and it has since then been unable to come out of it. Therefore, when you said "Christians are tired and Christianity has been secularised" you unknowingly expressed a truth hidden to many: for Christians are "tired" of living in the past with its ugly tales of hate and violence. And, they also have no quarrel with secularism since it merely grants each individual the right to live his/her free and harmless way of life, without allowing anyone the use of force or coercive means to induce compliance with any belief system. Mankind ought to have since awakened to the realisation that humans are imperfect and so can't "make God's laws" perfect for their fellows. That is why Christianity's messages of Love, Kindness, Selflessness, Forgiveness, Humility, Honesty and Forgiveness remain the best for attaining individual and collective joy for all humans, here on earth and in the hereafter. |
ghazzal: How did "Sodom & Gomorrah" a good reference Start, was it overnight or that people influence people with time and it became a norm. it is important we check ourselves else God`s wrath is much more severe. Not that VIOLENCE is good but let the target audience know the truth (of what is blasphemy) and that it is bad.... If we keep Quiet that God we fight for himselve, majority will be in the LOST FLOCK by then.............. "SODOM & GOMORRAH" in the making.......The Bible account of Sodom & Gomorrah did not indicate that God "commissioned" humans to carry out the destruction; God's Angel did it. And, Christ's emphasis on LOVE & Forgiveness, which form the basis for man's happy and peaceful stay here on earth and in the beyond, contain all that humans require for reconciliation and harmony. Therefore, those who are "scared of a SODOM in the making" have no justification, whatsoever, resorting to coercive means to influence others to avoid the perceived 'impending doom'. The truth is that there exists an indecipherable ambiguity in Islam which has given birth to such diverse and unending conflicts within its ranks, with attendant effects on others. |
Reports from Plateau State say that unknown gunmen this evening ( i e,yesterday,26/09/2012, in the evening) stormed the University of Jos and shot several students, leaving at least two female students dead. Although details are sketchy, our sources say that several others escaped with injuries. A source told SaharaReporters there is tension on the campus as hundreds of students were seen running for their lives, unwilling to wait for an explanation as to what had led to the shootings. The source said that armed security personnel have already been dispatched to the university, but the identity of the attackers and their motives are still unknown. As of the time of this report, neither the Plateau State Police Command, nor the Special Task Force nor the management of the university has issued a statement concerning the attack. Source: http://saharareporters.com/news-page/gunmen-storm-unijos-campus-some-students-reportedly-shot Anyone with more details? |
page9: I have read through all the posts so far on this thread and I can't make any sense of any. What I see largely is aWell spoken. However, those with your kind of understanding and disposition are apparently few within the Islamic fold; thus creating a big puzzle as to why the religion remains dominated by violence-inclined minds. One is compelled to conclude then that those of you who don't follow the path of violence are "deviants" among Islamic real faithfuls. This view is informed by the "war verses" in the quran, coupled with the refusal by Muslims to weigh any statements in the Quran in the light of their historical relevance which, were bound to change with changing realities in human affairs. |
The unending crises between Fulani herdsmen and farmers in central Nigeria may soon witness another round of explosion if news of an impending 'full scale' war between fulanis and Tiv in parts of Doma LGA, Nassarawa state, turns out to be true. Eyewitness account has it that during the last round of crises early this year between the two groups, in which the Tivs suffered heavy casualty, surviving Tiv villages deserted their homes and farms, only for the fulanis to settle on them with their herds of cattle; looting, destroying and grazing at will. Several meetings initiated by the Benue and Nassarawa state governors have so far yielded no fruitful results as fulanis continue to migrate to the crisis areas with thousands of animals. The latest rumours of war are coming on the heels of suspected moves by the fulanis to convert abandoned Tiv villages into their permanent homes. To confirm that suspicion, some fulanis erected tenets on the ruins of the more than 200 years old Tiv village called 'Ajimaka' before some angry Tiv youths destroyed them. It will be recalled that early this year more than 100 hundred fleeing Tiv women and children were massacred by armed fulani militia and their mercenaries near this same Ajimaka village. Some Tiv youths had to plead to the Soldiers who were then stationed in the nearby Rukubi town before they provided security for the burial of the victims in shallow mass-graves. One hopes the federal govt intervenes before we witness yet again another round of needless bloodletting. |
Wsdm: As much as i do not support any breach of the law by any aggrieved party, but it is worthy to note the following: must Americans produce film to ridicule any faith knowing how sensitive it is? 2. Should we expect everybody to be coward because they want to be seen as gentle men. I just hope Americans will stop their various violent campaign against the entire world!Haba, Mallam! I believe you won't object to anyone calling all Nigerian muslims 'boko haram', would you? Individuality! Let us recognise this inherently individual-freedom-of-choice in all human beings, pls. |
