The Greeks know where their gods come from. From the mountains of Olympus. The Norse God, Odin and son, Thor, lives in Asgard. It's only the Christian god that has no home. I'm done with this arguments, cuz frankly, it's going nowhere. You can't tell me that your god exist without drawing a detailed map pointing to his origin. The Greeks mythology is logically more credible than yours cuz Zeus like every thing else in the universe had an origin. The same goes for Norse mythology. All their gods started somewhere, so why is the Christian god any different? Why is it so hard for Christians to explain the origin of their god unlike their Greek and Norse counterparts? Having an holy book doesn't make your religion any superior than theirs if you are unable to prove that your god exist. I'm now even more inclined than before to believe that the Christian god is nothing but a myth and not even an interesting one for that matter. In that regard, Greek mythology is much more interesting. |
naijaboyof4life: so what is your point? When you build a house does the building come up first or the electricity. In the most logical sense, the building precedes the electricity, but again, the contractor may decide to work only at night and thus illuminates the whole site with flood lights, making electricity to precede the building even before it goes up. It can go either way, mate. So how does your question contradicts what I said?? ![]() |
Religion is a threat, true, but you talk with disregard to HUMAN NATURE. As a specie, man is both predatory and curious. He will keep trying new things until he finds one that suits him best, then when the sense of romance wore off the process will start all over again. If there is no religion, believe me, man will find something else to motivate his hatred for fellow man. Man is not engineered to live in harmony, it's simply not encoded in his DNA. Man doesn't adapt to his ecosystem like other species, rather he modifies his ecosystem to accommodate him. Understand the human nature, and you will think differently, mate. Religious fanatism is a real threat that shouldn't be ignored, true, but it's only a surface, a mask, an excuse used by man to propagate hate for fellow man. Remove that mask, and you will get to see the real man at his most sinister. You think lion as deadly, you think shark as a killing machine, you think tiger as a freak of nature, but none of these predators hold a candle to nature's deadliest anomaly »» MAN. |
Long story short, you have no clue. ![]() So what else is new... Take on the next question? |
Fresky, I hail thee. But you did exactly what most Christian apologists do, you try to prove your points using science. Wrong approach. First and foremost, I will start off with this verse; Psalm 104:5 "You fixed the earth upon its foundaton not to be moved forever." If that doesn't prove that biblical earth is the centre of the Universe around which everything else revolve, I don't know what else will. I will prode further... Daniel 4:11 The tree grew large and strong and its top touched the sky; it was visible to the ends of the earth. This proves that biblical Earth is flat. Bat is a bird in the bible... Deutoronomy 14:11 to 18 You may eat any clean bird. But these you may not eat: the eagle, the vulture, the black vulture, the red kite, the black kite, any kind of falcon, any kind of raven, the horned owl, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk, the little owl, the great owl, the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey, the cormorant, the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe and the bat The Biblical rabbit chews the Cud... Leviticus 11:6 The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a divided hoof... The above is only the tip of the iceberg. Let me dissect it from the beginning. Fasten your seat belt cuz you are in for a wide ride! ![]() "In the beginning" (When was the universe created?) ![]() The Genesis 1 creation account conflicts with the order of events that are known to science. In Genesis, the earth is created before light and stars, birds and whales before reptiles and insects, and flowering plants before any animals. The order of events known from science is just the opposite. God creates light and separates light from darkness, and day from night, on the first day. Yet he didn't make the light producing objects (the sun and the stars) until the fourth day(1:14-19). And how could there be "the evening and the morning" on the first day if there was no sun to mark them? (1:3-5) God spends one-sixth of his entire creative effort (the second day) working on a solid firmament. This strange structure, which God calls heaven, is intended to separate the higher waters from the lower waters. 1:6-8 Plants are made on the third day before there was a sun to drive their photosynthetic processes ( 1:14-19). God lets "the earth bring forth" the plants, rather than creating them directly. Maybe Genesis is not so anti-evolution after all. (1:11) ![]() In an apparent endorsement of astrology, God places the sun, moon, and stars in the firmament so that they can be used "for signs". This, of course, is exactly what astrologers do: read "the signs" in the Zodiac in an effort to predict what will happen on Earth. (1:14) God makes two lights: "the greater light [the sun] to rule the day, and the lesser light [the moon] to rule the night." But the moon is not a light, but only reflects light from the sun. And why, if God made the moon to "rule the night", does it spend half of its time moving through the daytime sky? (1:16) "He made the stars also." God spends a day making light (before making the stars) and separating light from darkness; then, at the end of a hard day's work, and almost as an afterthought, he makes the trillions of stars.(1:16) "And God set them [the stars] in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth." (1:17) In verse 11, God "let the earth bring forth" the plants. Now he has the earth "bring forth" the animals as well. So maybe the creationists have it all wrong. Maybe God created livings things through the process of evolution. ![]() In Genesis 1 the entire creation takes 6 days, but the universe is 13.7 billion years old, with new stars constantly being formed. Humans were not created instantaneously from dust and breath, but evolved over millions of years from simpler life forms. After making the animals, God has Adam name them all. The naming of several million species must have kept Adam busy for a while. ![]() God fashions a woman out of one of Adam's ribs. Because of this story, it was commonly believed (and sometimes it is still said today) that males have one less rib than females. When Vesalius showed in 1543 that the number of ribs was the same in males and females, it created a storm of controversy. Let me stop here. I've already made my point. Science contradicts the bible, and vice versa, period. |
honeric01: LOL, i can only laugh at you... the HBSE is not recognize by FIFA the football authority and they are never put into consideration when the issue of the national team comes up. CAF created this HBNT to help the local base players play continental competitive games since they are never given room in the main national team. so how can you include games played by these players with that of the main national team?*Sighs resignedly* I give up... |
This is really going nowhere... Why not just give me a straight answer? I asked a simple enough question "Where did God come from" and you are blowing it out of context. Let's just forget about the trickiness of the question for a second and concentrate on the content What's the origin of your God. If you really don't know and incapable of giving a straight answer, then skip it and move to the next question. It's that simple. |
honeric01: LOLZ, SO WHAT'S YOUR ARGUMENT? you see yourself? What is this ![]() You really do lack comprehension skills, mate. Okay, lemme try again... A national team manager for private reasons of his own may decide to take only home based players to a major tourney. Now, would you say that because the content of the squad is not made up of foreign based players that it's not the main national team? Nope! The content is irrelevant, cuz primarily they are representing the country at the senior level, which is the highest level. FIFA, thus doesn't recognise the content of a national team so far as it's the national team. You can choose to field under 17 boys as your national team, and FIFA wouldn't bat an eye. Why? You may asked. Simply because it's irrelevant. When they get humiliated eventually in the major tourney, news agencies will still report it as "Black stars got spanked" irrespective of the 100% home-based or under 17 boys that made up the team. I really hope for your sake that you got it now. |
honeric01: I cant waste precious time lecturing you. Only home based players can rep Nigeria in the HBSE, our main team can't rep us at the tourney this set of players go for. Though same coaching crew handles them, but they're not same nor rep us at the same tournament.Geez... ![]() National team is national team regardless of the content. CHAN is only for the home based, while CAN is for the everyone irrespective of the continent in which they pry their respective trade, but at the end of the day, it's still the same national team, manage by the same staff. Being the national team, FIFA monitors their performance and rank them accordingly. Been 100% home based is irrelevant, cuz they are still primarily Super Eagles. Thus, every result they acquired in the course of their performance will be classified as the national team's results along will the the one acquired by the one by the mixed one.Note that 100% home based national team is CAF invention and not really recognised by FIFA. |
Rain is mysterious, but if you are asked where it came from, instantly you will point to the sky. In that regard, Rain originates from the sky. But assuming I don't know this, in fact I have never seen rain in my life and only came to be aware of it from some people, and I asked a sea sider one day "where did rain come from? " It doesn't imply that I have acknowledged it's existence cuz I haven't, rather I'm being merely curious of where it came from. Maybe in the course of the explanation I will be able to garner enough to challenge the validity of it's existence. I hope you understand the point I'm trying to make? When I ask where God comes from, I'm being merely curious of his origin hoping that in the course of your explanation, I will be able to challenge you on the validity of his existence. See an example below; I asked; Where did God came fromUyi Iredia explained; ^^^ God comes from the same place spaceHis explanation was unsatisfactory which prompted me to challenge the validity of God's existence with thus; LOL!It's a trick question, take it or leave it. |
Obviously, between the two, Note 3 is the better option. But, because of A2's cheaper prize an average person on a budget would naturally go for it rather than the much costlier Samsung. At the end of the day, it would be a good deal cuz it roughly gives you almost the same output a Samsung Note 3 could have given you, if you had gone for it. Bottom line; I prefer Tecno Phantom A2, simply because it's more customer friendly, and that's why it will sell more than its Samsung counter part when both reach the Nigerian Market. |
Damn! That Gov'nor f'd up big time! |
Uyi Iredia: I would hope the same applies if you susbstituted religion for atheism.Nah...it wouldn't, cuz then it would entail that I believed in something, WHICH I DON'T. |
El Guapo and honeric01, both of you need to hide you heads in shame for not knowing your national team's last 5 games, and trying to ridicule a guy that was trying to educate you on the matter. Emmysteve, don't mind them, they are just too ignorant to realize the full implication of their respective states. Davo93, thanks for the detailed clarification. Davo93: The problem with most of you is that you don't follow our national football closely. The 4-1 win for Nigeria was during the CHAN qualifier which was prosecuted by the home base eagles. It was in the return leg they(Cote d'Ivoire) consoled themselves with a 2-0 win over the Super Eagles.Peace out! |
EzeJustme: thank you bros, but i dn't believ that Gods existence is an imagination.A wise man once said "Treat your religion like your genitàls, never expose it in public and never try shoving it down other people's throats." Follow the guideline of the above quote, and you will have no problem from anyone. |
9jadelta: no, u don't arrest the gun for killing, you arrest the person that uses the gun, so it All goes back to fanaticsYou missed the point. Nuclear weapons were invented and used in the 2nd world war, not because of religion(can't believe that I'm actually defending religion) but because of man's hunger for supremacy. And if it's to be used again, it would be for the same reason. Human nature is constant. |
First and foremost Freksy, I commend you for the pain-staking effort you must have put in the above posts, trying to explain away the fallacious, inconclusive, irrational, invalid, incorrect, sophistical, unreasonable, scientific unsound commentary known as the bible. Let me take you back in time, before the modern period began. You see, the bible was so literal in it's implications that the bible scholars took it at face value. From what they could garner from the passages, the earth was the centre of the universe, while heaven is celestial(otherworldly, not of this dimension). Pursuing their logic, since the earth was the centre, Everything else is secondary. In fact according to their comprehension of the 'holy book' God lived directly behind the clouds and if you were able to navigate past the clouds somehow, you would see God. The tower of babel Story proves my point in that regard. Most Christian Apologists of today are quick to plead allegory, claiming that most passages of the bible are metaphoric and shouldn't be taken literally. Somehow, I don't see the poetic state of God as he created man from dust, woman from ribs of man, or when he sent tower of babel crumbling down. All these are biblical literal manifestations of God and shouldn't be further undermine by unreasonable excuses. In the beginning God was very literal and clear as he could be. He created the heaven and earth, Heaven being his home along with all his angels and what-not. From the biblical context, he wasn't referring to the 'starry Heavens or he would have mentioned the stars. The earth was without form and void, in other words, the earth was very dark and completely empty of life. Now how could earth be that dark if the stars were already in attendance? [Even in very dark nights of nowadays when moonlight is not visible, Stars, give out some illuminance of their own, thereby creating a mini-moonlight atmosphere]. When God commanded light to appear, in the physical world it could be construed as daylight coming to the surface of the earth for the first time. In a Scientific world only two things could hide Sun rays from reaching the earth surface - Eclipse(caused by the moon), and, Night(caused by earth rotation) - thereby bringing everything to total darkness. So how come that the Sun remained hidden from the earth until God commanded it to appear? If God had already created it, it should have illuminated the earths surface immediately, don't you think? Surely cloud cover isn't enough to keep out the rays of the Sun from reaching the surface(?) In that regard, the bible was very literal. It meant everything as it left it, religious, sentimental, supernatural. Trying to attach scientific back-up(connotation) or calling it a metaphor would only serve to undermine it further. Biblical Earth precedes Sun and no amount of excuses would change that. It's what was written in the first chapter of The Book Of Genesis. |
