Money backed collateral are usually 120% of the loan, 100k will get you about 83.33k loan. 120k will get you 100k loan.

A loan of 100k at 25% for a year, you end up paying a total of about 115k it is a term loan will a monthly payment plan. But if it is an overdraft with a bullet payment plan you will make a total loan payment of 125k.

If you further explanation on this, I will do just that.
hmmm...
why not liquidate some or all of the t-bills and invest in whatever you think that loan can be used for?

I believe I will have my questions answered here from experienced investors. I am actually planning to participate in the Stanbic Money Market Fund and I will like to learn from the experience of those who have participated in the past or still participating.
What I will like to know really is; what is the daily profit rate like on the average?
Thanks.
go to their website..there is a pruce history there.

remember, previous performance does not ever determine future performance..

you just have to understand the basics of how they use the money and pay the interests to you..

then you can be sure of the investment

Yes! I received mine today though i have done the investment like 2weeks ago. You can use the proof of investment to seek a loan (collateral) from banks or lending houses.
you do t-bills at 18%
then go take a loan with it at 30%

how does that makes sense please?

learn to trade Agric commodities instead: garri, beans, egusi, palm oil, etc

if i had kept the "little" job i had in 2013, where i was able to save 8k monthly from my "small" pay, till now;
my account would have been probably better.

instead, i left it and ran to a 100k contract that terminated abrubtly before its stiulated end; which showed me that more money aint any good. My spending grew so much that i couldnt even save 8k monthly!

in fact, i was broke the very next month after the contract ended!

it took me a while to recover from the shock and realization that i was out of work and had been unable to save any money. 1year to be precise!

Thanks to God though, i have a new job now and savings is better than it ever was..

new investments are already taking form in my mind.

It is an open secret that many people are suffering in nigeria. Most graduate don't have jobs and the ones that are employed are underemployed. The ones that are skilled don't have money to open up their business and these go on and on.

The significance of all these is that most of the guys Damn all the consequences and go into stealing and get killed. Most of our young girls are into runz or rather prostitution because they face harsh conditions in life. awhen i work the street I fell bad because I see hardship and pain all over.

But in all these I know that some people are making it,
your definition of "made" is the problem!

Thanks. Whats the current rate for 182 days? The guy at first bank told me that the last auction for 183 days was 17.5%. And that available for now is 185 days at 17.10%per annum or 178 days at 18% per annum. I don't understand what first bank mean by that. To my understanding, it also mean 183 days is for 17.10%, which is 6 months, is that correct?

Then i called again after like an hour and the person i spoke to said available for now is 17.25 for 182 days. I don't understand first bank at all. shocked shocked
Just visit that thread and read up.. All the answers are there.

Officially, it's only available fortnightly... At about 17.5 or so..
What they are offering you is secondary market rates..

If you want to buy in primary market, then tell them that's what you want and write the letter instructing them to buy for you in the next auction.

This however means you will not know the rates at which they will get it till the purchase is complete.

That's why some people prefer secondary market. There you know the rate before you order but the rates vary greatly and you might never get a full tenor.

I heard Mutual Funds is paying more than Treasury Bills. Is there any risk in Mutual Funds too? I have no idea about them. I only invested in Fixed Deposit.
If bank collapses... There is more risk on your fixed deposit than on T-bills purchased through the bank.
The custodian for T-bills is not the bank...
But the custodian for fixed deposits is the bank in question.

T-bills only run at risk if and when the government
Becomes Unable to service it's debts.
Do you see that happening in a country that
Gets 1.5 trillion naira yearly from 40% crude oil revenue only?

Think T-bills.. Think pension

inze:

. . . except if the property can give you close to 10mil annually. Else, you might want to try this for a start and continue if you like: invest 40mil in Treasury Bill for a year and compound the interest. Let's take 18% as rate:

18% of 40mil by 366days gives you 7.2mil. Takeout upfront interest and re-invest same day from same account:
18% of 7.2mil by same 366 gives you 1,296,000. Repeat process again:
18% of 1.2mil by same 366 gives you 233,280.

Now at the end of the 366days period, your interest in will amount to 8,729,280 and you'd still have your 40mil breathing in your account.
chukzyfcbb:
Someone has advised you compound ur interest, now I propose you another idea. why not combine the two? Yes use one stone to kill two birds, lol.

with 40m. u can buy a very good title land in Lagos mainland (if u live in Lagos), c/o fenced and all for 20m. while u invest the other 20m.

Now this land will appreciate in value, while your treasury bills investment at say 18% can yield 3.5m for you annually, Infact you can gradually use the Tbills upfront interest to start up building project on the land or better still money for personal use :-) :-D

However if u take that whole 40m to erect a structure in Lagos, lemme use Lagos because I am more familiar with the terrain, I want to Guarantee you that you will not earn more than 4m naira as House rent (if all tenant cooperate oh). Now u see why I propose a HYBRID plan for you.

Earn 3.5m - 4m from 20m investment of It T-bills
same time watch your 20m land appreciate annually
junglep:
Is 40 mill too much to put in tb or should I buy a property instead? I need cash flow without stress of managing tenants so I'm thinking maybe tb. However I'm worried about inflation. Can anyone advise me on this.
Good advice have been stated above...
But consider this...

Even at 10% ROI.. T-bills will double your money in 10 years without much risk.
At current rates.. You will get double your money in 5 years.
If you compound your interest like inze- suggested, you will double it in 4 years.
All with minimal risk.

Remember, as long as T-bills exist, you can get minimum of 4 million+ yearly (that's at 10% rates) ...
That beats any pension scheme I know. (except governor scheme though)

Finally,

HOW about you put 40m in T-bills now
and use the 7.2m interest to buy a piece of land or 2
which can start appreciating now at zero risk
because your 40m is still secured?
Repeat next year!

Yes, you should be SAFE for writing an ordinary petition and getting many other people to sign it.
You can always find out the office and contact details of your senator and representative to drop your petition with the appropriate AUTHORITIES.
You want to report a thief to another their

for his turn to stealing from same place, right?

Good luck with that
