The whole mile 1 market is razed down except the few new blocks of stalls in the market. Properties worth hundreds of millions of naira destroyed. My office is just 3 blocks away from the market. I learnt the incidence started in the wee hours of the morning. You need to see the affected victims to understand the extent of damage/loss. My heart goes out to the affected traders who means of livelihood went up in flames. I pray God to comfort and provide for them and their family at this trying moment. This is also a wake-up call to the Rivers State govt to equip its fire service. I was really embarrased seeing fire fighters with outdated equipment trying to quench the fire. |
Why the disclaimer? Abi Seun and the mods dey fear about some posts made on NL? ![]() |
That was very childish of Michelle to wear such a look in a public outing just because her hubby was flirting with another lady. By virtue of Obama's office as US president, it is expected he would chat with other world leaders in such gathering. There are other ways to call Obama to order without letting the whole world know she was jealous. I don't like people being over possessive. And she even swapped seats! She just disappointed me. |
Good development. Like seriously, how many of us write/type or read in our local languages? How many of us use Google/Wikipaedia in Hausa,Igbo or Yoruba? I don't want to sound like a pessimist, but I foresee this project failing. |
deejay_harry1:You are an imbecil.e. Mandela is an African hero and deserve whatever respect accorded to him.3 days mourning does not men 3 days public holidays. It means flags all over the country would be flown at half-mast. What problem do you have with that? Is Nigeria the only country mourning Mandela's demise? What do you guys enjoy by jumping at every slightest opportunity to insult the president? It is not compulsory to comment on NL. |
chucky234: Like seriously, how many staffs do they have at Union Bank, just few old folks walking up and down the banking halls. |
chucky234: Like seriously, how many staffs do they have at Union Bank, just few old folks walking up and down the banking halls.Just STFU if you've got nothing to say. Union Bank has over 5000 staff (both permanent and outsourced) nationwide. @topic, it is a welcomed development. Most affected staff of Sub-Manager level and above went home with over 15million naira. Fresh graduates are being injected into the Bank since 2009 and by next year, Union Bank staff would be among the highest paid in the industry. |

veave: i hate it wen people come to a faceless online forum to do holy holy. the OP is not saying the whole truth...Sister, nobody is 'doing holy holy' here according to you. Afterall I stated I invited her the first time, I wonder what I'll gain from making up silly lies just for the fun of it. Not that I'm a saint though. |
veave: both of you are @ fault here. but wait o... na so ur d**k sweet reach? wey she go spend TP from calabar come ur angle? oga, tell us d truth... wetin make u send her back? ![]() I'm endowed with a 12" tool, little wonder she turned to Oliver Twist. AG.gal:Exactly my thought. My kind of job takes me out of town occasionally, what if her visit was on such occasions? @all, thanks for your contributions. |
Pacify: Although u should've seen her in person and probably rented a hotel for the night for her if u had cash cos she had undergone a stressful journey to see u. However, it doesn't justify any reason she may have to come see u unannounced. I so much detest it.So on point bro. Thought I was the only one who detest it too. Tnx. |
Met this girl a couple of months ago in a Calabar bound bus from Benin. We exchanged numbers and started talking. On my invitation, she visited me in Benin once. At that time my girlfriend was still doing her NYSC in Kano. I made it clear to her that I'm into a serious relationship. 2 weeks later after her first visit, she started calling that she wants to visit again which I declined. She has been complaining that I don't want her to visit me again. I told her I'll invite her when it is convenient for me. Just last saturday, I went to see a friend in my neighbourhood when she called that she was in my house. Initially, I thought she was joking, not until my neighbour called to confirm that a girl was waiting outside my door. I got mad! How could she have travelled all the way from Calabar without at least calling me? I called her back and asked her to go back from wherever she's coming from, she started pleading that she just wanted to surprise me. To cut the long story short, I asked my neighbour to give her some money for her transport which he did, and she left. I'm kinda feeling guilty at what I did. Did I do the right thing? What if she had met my girl at home? What kind of surprise (according to her) is that? Pls I need your contributions/advice/criticisms. |
All I can say is 'End time things'. |
GTB is living in their past glory. Abeg that bank is over hyped. They used to be customer service oriented, timely and professional but not now. All banks have their good and bad side too. I have had a wow experience in branches of Wema and Union banks, and I have also met some very rude and arrogant GTB staff too. |
last timer: Pls dont forget Guinness, especially when it comes to lunchtime, come see food and drinks. At a time I think say na Shell I dey. I go check signboard confirm say na Guinness. ,Isn't it funny what most posters termed as Staff Welfare? So free lunch and drinks, some cartons of Milo at the end of the month or few crates of Guinness products are now staff welfare? What happened to Job Security, renumeration, staff training and development, good work environment, timely promotion and so on. Walahi, hunger don deal with so many 9ja peeps that all think is food. ![]() |
Is the guys name Sullivan? Abeg Enugu people make una no vex ooo ![]() |
Abeg make una free the woman. She has been in the news for over a month now. Her marriage to Sullivan is over and it's nobody's business what she does with her life or where she relocates to. |
Littlehooper: CAN U SEE IGBO PEOPLE ARE THE ONE TRAVELLING AROUND AS IF THEY DIDN'T GET HOME (COUNTRY ) N DEY ARE PRETENDING AS IF THEY ARE STUDYING OVERTHERE..Do you think you sound funny with the crap you posted? Guy humor is not for an imbecilic baboon like you. |
There is no such thing as the 'cost of building a duplex in Lagos'. The cost of building a standard duplex in Ajegunle is not even enough to buy a plot of land in Banana Iceland (apologies to Yuzedo). To cut the long story short, it depends on the location and the taste of the owner. |
Bros if you start checking how hygenic most food we consume in Naija is, then it means you wont eat anything except home made food you prepared by yourself. It is not only Bole, what of suya, kilishi, kulikuli, bread, kunu, fura de nunu . |
