A clear case of laxity and complacency...! The quality has been depreciating without proper grooming of replacements.
That is what I am saying. Germany had the most advanced age grade development program in all Europe.

Before countries like England, Holland, and even Spain that are known today as benefitting from solid age grade development programs, Germany was already winning junior world cups and taking south america countries and Nigeria to task.

I just hope the storied Bayern Munich burden on german football is not responsible.

I'm more interested in Spain Vs Japan TBH...!

Germany has since fallen off my personal rating.
I wonder what has happened to German soccer. They used to be a solid tournament team at all levels u15 to World Cup. Only Brazil has won this cup more than them and courtesy of Pele's exploits of times past.

Copa America has had foreign invitees since 1993 I think. Mexico and others have played in it. I think Qatar was invited lately also. Perhaps African teams may be invited in future.

Same here. Cut out at half time. Only returning in extra time.... to see this cataclysm of a scoreline.

Costarica should donate it's remaining matches to charity. Their flight back is already taxiing.

France looks imperious to me, Spain comes second.

Oga Minister. When are we growing manufacturing in Nigeria that will benefit the common man and the economy. For since oil was discovered in 1958 Nigeria has not rested from grinding poverty. The extractive industry in all but a few countries is elitist top to bottom and seldom benefits the people.

Manufacturing and industrialization is the panacea to poverty. It brought Asia out of the dungeons and decadence of the World war two to become an advanced, developed region as it is today. Everywhere in the world it gives the masses a hook to fish with when all big oil does is like give 200 million people 5 loaves and two fishes to survive with.

Nigerians will forever be indebted to whichever government can put them to productive work an thus give them a decent chance at a decent life. Let us stop pursuing the evil called crude oil and gas that has brought us to our knees.

“In my life, the best timing is always my timing,” - Cristiano Ronaldo

No player is greater than the club but every big brand deserves respect for its value.

What fan protests couldn't achieve, it took a Ronaldo's FRANK interview to achieve: Glazers selling Manchester United. It says a lot about who love the club more.
Absolutely.
He had to protect his brand so that the transition to a post football era will be seamless aka bowing out when the ovation is high.

What is the chase about the so called resources the world is gradually abandoning. Isn't it clear to all from the World Cup that all of Arabia is laying the foundations for a post oil era where it will remain relevant.

These fellows are late to the party that is almost ended. To prep your dancing shoes at this time is just funny.

Spain is best for his tempo of game and knowledge of the league. But something tells me he's leaving Europe completely. I think he knows his best days at the highest levels are over and wants a last dance before his brand is retired. United was damaging his brand.

I am an Igbo man. I have watched the trends in development, growth, advancement in all facets of life in Nigeria and found out that Igbos and yorubas are the best thing to happen to Nigeria. Remove Igbo and Yoruba, Nigeria will be competing with Niger and Chad in all negative indices. Quite unfortunate that Igbos and yorubas are their own worse enemies. One of the reason of this enmity is the Yoruba Muslim factor in the south west and the Igbo man's over inflated ego in the south east. The poverty range discrepancy between south east and south west is merely 0.5%, which means that this two regions are doing well while the rest of Nigeria is very far behind them.
How can you say 50 percentage poverty in the East and West apiece is 'doing well'.... then what will 'doing average' or 'doing poorly' be..... I just shudder to think..... huh

He used to be so reliable and confident, not sure what has gone wrong.
Maybe he lost his towel or something? cheesy
Funny.

But on a whole Africa does not produce great goalkeepers and by the truck load. When I mean great, I mean fellows who will operate at a high level all through their careers.

I just don't know the reason for that. We have great forwards and good midfielders but as you progress towards the back, the more technical areas of the pitch the quality of african football is patchy.

Cameroon used to have the most complete and balanced teams but even they are struggling these days while countries like Italy and Germany produce them consistently.... great goalkeepers and back lines.
Sports › Re: How Far Can Senegal Go Without Sadio Mane? by Reference(m):
Mane at the front is not the issue, it is Mendy at the back. This is tournament football and the rule is simple. Good attacks win matches, good defences win tournaments.

The Netherlands won yesterday not because of the quality of their goals but the quality of their defence including their goalie who made two clutch saves that would have beaten a Mendy had it been the roles were reversed.

Senegal progressing is dependent on their back. Mendy needs a shrink.

The England team should be ashamed to be kneeling down in front of the Iranians who themselves were protesting against their own regimes. I wonder what England are protesting for since the Americans who their are mimicking have long forgotten about it since the rogue police had been locked up. undecided
They still have issues of discrimination to deal with back home and in Qatar obviously.
