It all depends on what works for you, the stress of earning income or the stress of spending it. Some prefer the challenge of things beyond their means so it drives them to aspire to a better life and be ambitious.... you can say greed. Others have their eyes glued to the bottom line, the 'what ifs' that cling to the bird in hand.... you can say fear. And there is the demographic of single people that have only one consideration as opposed to families where the partner and the children come in to complicate the equation. |
teeytimi:You just don't get it. Look at the rank and file of the PDP and ask if there is any single person north of the Niger that had done any sort of 'opposition' to this regime.... any. That is why the PDP had always been perceived as a southern party though it contains a lot of big wigs from the north. They simply do not do it. But look at Wike in contrast, a political bull in a china shop, damaging his party, his personal political relationships and the prospects of his region. I won't say that it is worse than what others do but it is neither better. |
Now Wike has woken up to see what Jonathan did in 2015. That the northern establishment does not 'eat' its own 'children'. That democracy there only exists 'under the table'. That the power doctrine there is one of necessity. And the reason why they will vote along those lines in 2023. 2023 clearly is a sectional election and the answer to Wike's question is simple. In 7 years encounting Atiku never did seriously oppose because of today. He was merely investing in his project So while Wike was 'scattering' his building blocks, Atiku was 'busy' buying up sentiment aka relaxing in Dubai. If we do not understand and have not realized from endSARS, NBA debacle, etc that the north simple does not 'eat up' its own then we are just toddlers in this game. |
JASONjnr:Well just ride the trains and all your problems will be over.... ![]() |
Noahsarko:God does not bless disobedience to His Word. |
...more like 'fruit' of the balls... ![]() |
Mercury12:That is the nature of sheep. |
Hey, everyone is right here. He should be motivating young people to be self contained success stories. It is a battle and the more people win it the better for everyone in society. But he should also understand that man is not created equally and some will only pull their weight by association. They need a functional society to function and rather than risk them dissolving completely into anti social living it is better to 'let them go'. It is up to the rest of us to decide if we are willing accomplices in the slide towards a completely failed state like Honduras or Guatemala that have completely lost their planetary like social gravitational pull and everyone just wants 'to get the hell out' ... including those who fuel the flames of destruction. He should temper motivational mercy with the justice of reality. |
Ask yourself where you are in this 'Her dream'. That is the answer. Kids and relationships. |
Nigerians should put pressure on their leaders for good governance so that th they won't have time for extra curricular activities. You would have thought the new governor will have scant time for side talk with the terse situation in his state and the country at large. |
Naajjii:This is where history comes in and the NFF had better invest in a sports historian. If it did it will have discovered that almost all the great Nigerian teams of the past built their defensive units from the local league including the goalies. This is the feedstock Jose Pereira should be exploiting. Above all else a great defender has to have a 'heart', that is tenacity, a determination to prevail you rarely find in foreign based players for the simple reason of the debilitating Nigerian mentality of money and means. |
Finidi George to Pepe... "we promise not to break ya legs, why you come violate us like dis nau...".... ![]() |
And at his age that may be curtains at the world cup. |
Okay. The flogging is enough....mbok. |
Oga, that horse had bolted. It was a critical mistake. Lack of proper consultation. It is clear you lack understanding about Nigeria or national political demographics to be swayed by a cabal attempting to hijack your presidency. Anyway, that is the least of the problems facing this elections. I am seriously troubled that not a single national question has been asked by Nigerians and not a single package of solutions has been presented just over 3 months to the elections. What are the plans for restructuring or not. What is the solution to the budget deficit and debt issue. What is the solution to university funding. Fuel subsidy or not. Floating the naira or not. Grazing reserves or not.... and on and on. These are the things that are outstanding. Same faith ticket is a closed matter. |
SyrusdeHansome:The Commonwealth Games was a bit of a success..... relatively. |
Well good thing we are not world cup bound. The few minutes I have watched is just mediocre. |
They should be taken on a train ride round the huge infrastructure and by the time they arrive at El-dorado their poverty will be wiped away.... ![]() |
They said the south-east should stop agitating and join politics to be accepted, they have a candidate in active politicking, still a problem.... They said power is not given, but is taken, someone is trying to 'take', still a problem.... They said you cannot win a national election as a regional party, or a newly formed party, so he joined an older party with national appeal, still a problem.... They said you can only win if your region puts its best foot forward, who else is better positioned, still a problem.... They said they do not want money influencing politics, so he left where money influences politics, still a problem.... And I can go on till sunset.... but they will still have a problem with that..... and there lies the problem with this country. A people without values, without a single bone of honesty in their body, pretenders to want good but subscribe to the woes that befall them. And will not make any sort of progress until Nigeria is restructured.... |
Well, what can I say..... just sad. 23 years of democracy, 6 general elections costing trillions of naira. See what we have bought and brought on ourselves. We are a vehemently self hating people.... honestly. |
N3TRAL:This night, haba. But the short answer is: Who controls the bulk of the money in and out and what they do with it to produce stuff or not. Successful case studies? within nations, in Nigeria or around the world? |
Anyone that can reduce the public debt and tackle inflation by cutting the size of government will be private sector friendly. |
PrinceOfLagos:Stop all this nonsense and be objective. The posit was clear. |
CheapHomes1:Then why the meetings with CAN. Why can't he just... move on. Only he can answer whether northern Christians are important or not. |
jamesversion:Well Barca has paid back with an expired Auba. |
Honestly I don't see what is wrong in criticism. It is the anchor of democracy and a tool to keep he that rules in the straight and narrow if he wants to progress is leadership tomorrow. I am certain Peter Obi will be looking back with mixed feelings as to what he could have done better. And I hope those in office today are taking notes if they intend to lead tomorrow. |
Mynd44:Can you provide the statistics of the whole country because the last time I checked, in a country structured like ours poverty is a function of macro economics which is the exclusive purview of the Federal Government. People get wealthy or poor more or less evenly across the country. Inflation, purchasing power, wages, etc which determines the index are almost equal from north to south, east to west |
We warned them severally. But Nigerians insisted on making them an appendage and this is the result. |
The simple reason why I care little about watching political historicals these days, whether 'what we did' in Anambra, Lagos or Abuja 'while I was Vice President' is that the scenario and circumstances were entirely different. Man is a reflection of his environment. Those things boasted about then we're possible in those places and at that times with specific people in place. By my assessment all three front runners have significantly weakened in the power equation. They are not in control as they used to be and a great example is the present regime and two people specifically as examples. A lot of folks mistakenly thought that the 1983 military head of state Buhari will be the 2015 democratic president Buhari with all the good parts intact. A lot of folks thought that the Governor Raji Fashola will be the same as Minister Fashola in 'transforming' Nigeria. What made the differences, power dynamics. The compromises all the leading candidates have made and will make before they are elected will be such that their deliverables at the end of the day will bear no semblance of what they boast about today. That is a certainty. Atiku will not 'get another Okonjo' just as Buhari did not come a mile near a KAI thoughtless of a WAI but has given us an 'my oh my' and as for Mister raising IGR from 600 million to whatever..... let him look around to see who in his camp will do that... |
So, so, so... what did they present to Nigerians today in their debut drama.... Next re-level or change over..... or I will save Nigeria from us.... |
