My man Orsato is on the spot. Said he was the CHOSEN referee. Italy produces spectacular policemen of the game. |
Fut9ure:This is not entirely true. Great players always do well. The circumstances is usually the issue. The matches are not many and the opponents uncertain. |
Oh dear. Some are booing Infantino's welcome. Let us just get in with it abeg. The UHD presentation on telly is spectacular. |
They say you are intelligent Mr. Okowa.... obviously not emotionally. For you to think that these things matter in the Nigeria of 2022 is just unfortunate. Why not rather focus inwards and build/rebuild your party and get your message across in the kind of fortitude that will gain electoral traction. Looking about as you drive along can only lead to an accident. Focus on your destination. |

muykem:Speaking of justice I suppose you mean south east since they have a candidate now and the west has had 8 years in the saddle. |
just2endowed:The pace of the game has skyrocketed. Caused by all this counter pressing or whatever it is called. Players these days have to move the ball fast and accurate or lose possession resulting in bad posture when controlling the ball, not to talk of mistimed tackles. The game is too fast now. If you watch the preceding world cups, the further away you go the slower the game and I will also give you a hint. Watch your favorite clubs. Teams that play too slow or too fast have an abundance of injuries and burnouts. Liverpool are a classic example. |
....'Multi Dimensionally Poor'.... hmmm. Thanks to the APC for a new lexicon. Well, when you are taking World Bank loans to buy stationary and office supplies hopefully not including toilet roll for the John... ![]() And you intend to buy 20 million naira dogs to sniff crack... I guess even this new lingo will soon hit its sell-by date. The world Bank can then consult Prof Ben Ayade to come up with some stronger anti-virus to describe Nigeria's misery. |
onatisi:If Wike leaves, where is he going. This is what I have been telling people since the onset. His power base is in PDP. That is where all his people are. This man is a politician through and through and his modus since becoming a major stakeholder has been to fight and outlast his opponents. And he will outlast Atiku and others. He knows Atiku is only in for elections and will more than likely still leave the party for him as it were. |
Khallicopyro:Wike is not seeking to destroy the party. He has invested too much in it. And can reap materially if he so wishes by cooling off. But his fight is ideological to a great degree if not his support will have withered. It is like a rebellion or a coup. The coupists are after the government, and not trying to destroy the country, because they want to rule it too. What I have been watching out for is if he over flogs the personal narrative which will have derailed everything. But he has wisely pulled back from his personal primary election angst lately to a platform where many others can identify with by accepting the candidacy of Atiku but still insisting the party is restructured to better represent its diversity. That is why he was so angry that Atiku could criticise the Buhari led government for inequity while excusing his own package. He is not leaving and is not destroying anything. He intends to outlast them all and remain relevant and a force to be reckoned with, win or lose in 2023. My own is that he and the other four rebels based on the present Nigeria psyche may have kissed their ambitions of ever winning a national elections in the near future.... bye, bye, bye. But if they press through the party will be better for it. C'mon, we have to respect one another in Nigeria for it to work. |
Because the PDP is a democratic party so far and democracy upholds freedoms including that of ideas, aspirations and associations and so far has proven not to be a monarchical entity. We have seen the damage cross carpeting has caused the systems operating democracy in Nigeria where leading figures cannot or do not seek to reform and grow their institutions from within but rather jump ship only to restart somewhere else leading to abandoned political ideological projects scattered everywhere. The result being discontinuity of governance and haphazard development drives. If we want ideological based politics we MUST have intra-party conflicting. It is mandatory and a lot beneficial for the citizens than parties and individuals seeking to win elections at all costs even without principles, philosophies and programs. The Conservative party in The United Kingdom has managed to evolve four, if not five Prime Ministers in the last decade, everyone of them facing internal rebellion based on PRINCIPLES not personalities. This is where we should be headed. Today in the US, the Republican party is split between the 'Trump' eters and novel candidates such as De Santis who want to take the party in a new direction. It happens everywhere democracy works well. It shows the PDP is maturing and it will do well to manage its diversity to welcome a greater number of objective citizens who know they will have at least a voice on any matter without being ostracized. For Wike as an individual it may certainly be curtains for any dream of his to win and hold national office for old habits die hard in the polity but if he has to fall on his sword Nigerians should know indeed that the tree of liberty has to be nourished by the blood of patriots... and tyrants in perhaps equal measure. Win or lose in 2023 as a result of this, I feel the party will be better and grow stronger for it. We should thank Wike and his bloody band of brothers for that. |
Right full back and left full back of Corruption Fc have overlapped but will soon retreat now that their defence is exposed by swift legislative counter attacks... in three, two, one... |
He should keep himself for Real abeg. Which wan be world cup that France cannot possibly win. |
AgentGoat:Hmmm.... |
I really wonder what will happen after the 2023 elections concerning Mr. Obi and the Labour party... Is it me sensing a certain disconnect between person and institution.... this over flogged, tired horse called 'structure'.... |
SaLongs1:Abeg, take it easy.... ![]() You are prejudiced.... we all are. One man's dog meat is another man's pet.... ![]() |
angelfallz:Oga. The only reason why you and I can go to the middle-east for whatever reason is because they are opening up to the west... and that is if you are not of the faith practiced there and even then with significant prejudice. Now, this is a double edged sword as every man will have to sift through the porridge to bring out the 'meat' palatable to his palette. I for one will select human rights to chew on..... this is principally championed by the west, not Asia or Africa, as not a single nation in the east can compel arabs to 'loosen up'. Beer drinking, if I will select that meat I will keep that aside because though I detest it, I will not 'kill' my neighbour for drinking beer. LGBTQ or whatever is called is one meat that actually 'threatens my life', I just cannot stand it, so if I draw it out I will definitely bin it. We ALL have preferences and prejudices, some we hope the west can help out and some we hope these arab nations will resist. And that is why I don't fancy Infantino's job. He should just smile at everyone and cool tempers.... he should not take sides or attempt to referee this fight. He will get knocked out. So it is clear, hate them or like them, without the west and its 'westernizing' pressure Arabia will be unlivable by anyone outside that culture and religion and indeed much of other Asian countries. And I speak as a Nigerian with a British colonial heritage. |
Angelfrost:That is why I have continually emphasized that institutional and system building is the only way out. I am not blindly jumping on the bandwagon to say the APC should be removed from power just because of personality of its flag bearer. I have nothing against the person of Mr. Tinubu and I am not interested in the age, health, background and all the stories of past misdeeds, for they are as secondary to me just as his past performances in Lagos or wherever. All that is not critical. What is important for Nigeria is to begin to evolve a working system to get Nigeria moving and this starts by laying and sustaining precedents. That precedent was started in 2015, 16 years after democracy was restored, that a sitting government could be removed on account of poor performance. And I feel should be continued in 2023 for the simple reason that Ngige has espoused. Responsibility or the lack of it.. That there are consequences when you are elected on promises and then fail to deliver them. There just has to be penalties for these politicians to take the responsibility of governance seriously unless they will just do as they wish and remain there perpetually. So Tinubu is in the wrong party or the right party at the wrong time. Now if, he knew he had an ambition in 2015 to be become president after this regime he should have done all he should to keep this regime performing and that is by criticism within while advocating for better performance all the while, the kind of internal opposition found in other democratic nations of the world and the kind of sense of responsibility governor Wike is trying to bring to the PDP. That a popular politician can use his popularity even within his party for the good of his people. But Tinubu did none of this and that act of cowardice (I sincerely say) should have consequences. It should affect his own chances. But then Nigeria has not evolved to this situation and that is why instead of Ngige to look inwards for solutions he is shamelessly playing to the gallery since the failure of his party will not affect his electoral value and chances going forward. This is where we miss it in Nigeria resulting in democracy without dividends, elections without positive change, just on and on wasting huge resources conducting them with scant benefits. If the APC told us in 2015 that all we will get in 8 years is two rail lines and one bridge in exchange for this inflation, this debt, this exchange rate, etc, will Nigeria have elected them. We should wake up oh. |
Father4all:This is exactly what I am saying. But Qatar knew this before it approached FIFA to host a WORLD Cup. Is it mandatory for it to host an event populated by 'infidels'... If it had made these 'hardlines' clear before the vote, will it have won?... that is the question. That is the battle Infantino is straddling and you don't expect the 'infidels' to lie down and roll over. Next time expect it to be doubly difficult for an Arabian country to host such an event. I am sure the IOC is watching keenly. |
angelfallz:Yeah, just as your brothers are maltreated in the Middle East. Be careful what you wish for. You will still depend on these 'hypocritical' west to survive in the east. Today Nigerians are no longer worthy to be admitted to the UAE. |
Gentlevip:But Infantino placed Qatar, Arabia, Africa, and LGBT all in the same pot. I'm sure even you will not agree to that tasty porridge. As the West battle to have their way, Qatar battles back with its own prejudices. But wither Africa, on whose side do we fall. |
Infantino should take it easy. Not all criticism and advocacy is bad. Human rights is a big problem in the third world and should be called out. Is the angst over the top, yes. Is there staunch hypocrisy, yes. But wrong is wrong and right is right. If the world keeps quiet it will fester and metastasize. |
No one calls MTN, Airtel, 9 mob or Glo, NITEL.... despite their poor persona. So if you still have an identity crises it must mean it walks and talks like one.... ![]() |
frog12:I just do not know what in the world will cause my people to be angry enough, in fact enraged at what is going on in this country.... kai... |
ufotunang:..... and toilet paper... all na paper.... hahahaha.... ![]() |
World Bank loan to buy paper.... Look even closer and you may find toilet paper as well.....all na paper... hahahaha.... ![]() |
Angelfrost:By that posturing they themselves are admitting their government was just a waste of space, waste of opportunity, eight years down the drain if they met a bad scenario and left an equally bad scenario. When they don't take responsibility they don't realize it is self indicting. The next question will be, why will anyone want to continue with these people beyond their expiry date... so that by 2027 we will still be hearing 16 years of PDP, Jonathan this, Goodluck that. Shameful. |
See nonsense talk. You borrow 20 billion dollars to build so called infrastructure that cannot generate even 10,000 jobs thereby massively inflating the economy and you come here to say bull.... ![]() That is the problem when 'traders' are not in charge. They don't think 'profitably' when handling money matters which we know is the root of all societal evils including oil theft. If you had expended.... invested all these silly debts on productivity who will kidnap, steal or vandalize. Inflation and job numbers is the bread and beans of all politicians aspiring to lead sane societies except here. No wahala. just buy more Super Tucanos.... the modern day solution to all our problems. Elect people with decent IQ's who you can advice and control... my people say no. |
Oh dear....and I was about opening a Lamborghini dealership just down the road.... ![]() |
Hmm...from the pics she clearly knows what her dad does for a living.... ![]() |
Not interested. This airport is for ungodly people. |
teeytimi:Chief. I am 100 percent in support of what Wike is doing in principle. Is having principles good, absolutely. Is fighting for your rights good, absolutely. Is reforming institutions right, absolutely. Is staying in your party to reform it from within good, absolutely. But when you consider the truths of the fight we will all discover that those values are so temporal that they will not make any long term sense. And when you fight tooth and nail for values that will not stand the test of time and sacrifice so much for it, then... what is the point. Everyone knows where I stand as concerning Nigeria, that without restructuring this country simply cannot move forward and all these problems will remain with us for generations to come. If you say a southern presidency is right, it is only right for now, in years to come it will be laughable to vote based on region and not on competence, so there are things that you have to contextualize. |
