Wow, perhaps the biggest loser in the end will be Mayweather. The potentially biggest fight in history may just be a damp squib. And who says Packy will upend him in the rematch. His recent fights have been very dodgy.

Holland, the most unreliable team in football. Even if you assemble FIFA Eleven and wear them orange anything can happen. If they are not self destructing they are hyperventilating. No bets for this team.

Is there anything to add without sounding like a gong. I say it again and again. When we are tired of corruption we will jettison it. The bigger the baloon the louder the bang. Institutions and not men fight corruption.

After doubling their match bonus to 10,000 US. Said it was a waste cos money doesn't motivate the average Nigerian to positivity and certain cannot generate performance in itself.

But what really pissed me off was the hundred strong delegation that boarded the chartered flight meaning that the players were less than a quarter of that contingent. With that level of distraction why won't performance be so ragged. Even the Chairman House Commitee on Sports was there, doing what you may ask.

Well let's wait for the outcome of the Kenya match. Hope we will need just a basic calculator this time and not a supercomputer to determine our chances. The inability to hold a lead cost us the Nations Cup.
Naija, we hail thee!
Runway headlights not working
Plane crashing
Aviation minister cannot be contacted

Dana aircraft flight data recorder sent to the United States for analysis to determine the cause of the crash because not a single soul in 168 million people knows how to analyse a data recoder

Some of the relatives of the victims (who bodies were burnt beyond recognition) will have to wait up to 50 days to get the bodies of their loved ones because DNA samples have been sent abroad to identy the remains, cos not a single soul in 168 million people can do DNA analysis.

YET..... most of us know what goes on in heaven, and even speak one-on-one to jesus christ everyday, some speak in heavely languages, know what the mind of God is on any matter, know what the will of God, what God permits & what he does not permit

Yet ordinary toothpick, we don't produce
Shiooor!!!
Oga you don't have an aerospace industry, wetin concern you with analysing content of black box, abi that one na work again. The black box of any aircraft will end up in the country of manufacture or with the nationals concerned and you'd do well not to tamper with it or risk voiding any liability arising from faulty design and manufacture. If you want to completely be in charge, make your own aircraft.

Politics › Re: PDP May Lose Aso Rock If CPC & ACN Merge by Reference(m): 7:57pm On Jun 08, 2012
afam4eva: An ACN/CPC combo will only do better than the last time but they can't win the election. PDP will rule for a long time to come unless other parties stop being myopic. This is a step in the right direction but they must reach out to other zones or else this will be an effort in futility.
Good take man. Regional parties CANNOT win a national election under the present Federal structure. Even the constitution guarantees that. That's why the PDP from the outset made the party all inclusive and broad based and in so doing compromised integrity hoping internal democracy will do the weeding over time. It has carried the moral can but you cannot dispute its electoral credentials.

Once again democracy is about compromise some of the time unsavoury compromise as these regional parties are realising. Nigeria is too young in democracy to have ideologies rule. At the end of the day for ACN, CPC to rise to national prominence they will have to swallow their pride and reach across and embrace all, unsavoury characters et al.

Then looking back at the PDP we would say, then what was all the fuss about. You aren't different. Nigerians are essentially Nigerians.

Well looking on the bright side after conceeding that the area was too congested to erect a memorial perhaps after using organic material (pardon me) to pave the road it should be renamed (hope no protest again) after the crash victims. Afterall I hear the great wall of china had prisoners and forced labourers emulsified and used as mortar. Is there anything outstanding in world history yet to occur in Nigeria.

slimyem: here's your answer...
See Slimyem, if you wish to seek advice that's one thing. If you seek support for a predetermined position that is another.

Here this and hear this clear. I donot live in the same house as that couple but the evidence is glaring. They are entangled in the second prevalent cause of break-ups after infidelity - money.

If you value that union be wise to advice them to de-escalate the standoff not further polarise it because in the end they will both lose.
Family › Re: Men,would You Allow Your Wives Have Their Own Capital Investments? by Reference(m): 5:07pm On Jun 08, 2012
Bontee: Concerning the topic, there is nothing wrong in a wife owning her own investments or landed properties. she can decide to let the man know or not if she needs guidance or advice concerning that. The man also as usual can own his own investments and landed properties with the knowledge of his wife or not. They can also do joint ventures together or invest some stakes in each others business. I don't see anything wrong here in having things in your own name or doing things personally which might have been your passion.

Now concerning the topic, i don't want to comment until the poster can kindly explain to us the issue behind the 300,000 the wife gave to the man. Was that money a loan which the man is going to pay back or she gave freely out of her heart without expecting anything in return. What is the state of that money right now? has it been returned to the wife either loaned or given with free will?.
That's what am saying, is it a loan, when will it be paid back, at how much interest.... ehm, ehm. Darling can I declare you insolvent if you can't pay, darling maybe I need to call the EFCC.

Poster are we talking about man and wife, M&A lawyers or Underwriters because the story is losing its clarity.

Clearly greed is the pervading threat to every modern union and that's why most are as short termed as 5 year bonds.

nonyJ: Well, its not the woman fault though. Men always promise one thing before marriage and after that they change. They prefer buying the whole things in their house with their names and always leaving their wives out of it. Pls any woman that has a husband that writes Mr and Mrs on their receipt should really be thankful because men are always and very self centered.
And is there any reason to write Mr. and Mrs. on anything. Give me one that doesn't have suspicion and avarice wrapped around it.

Tropilo: Old Roger, has his records, i doubt if those records can be erased or equalled in the next 20yrs.
His skills are still there but his agility is doubtful.
2ndly, he appears to have this "complex" thing again Rafa and Nova. Even when he has them to the ropes, they riggle out somehow. I believe its the age acting up. He tries not to betray his emotions when he is under pressure, but when you notice him wiping his mouth more often with his sweat band (thats it), he is choking!
He's been the best player ever, anyway. I like him very much maybe cos his mum is African (sentiments).
Didn't know that. From where exactly?

Nadal is a beast on clay. Another player entirely.

I said it previously. That is how democracy works. So how do you fight corruption with alliances. Corruption is not the primary issue afflicting Nigeria but the structural imbalances that makes for the building of a true democracy where all Nigerians irrespective of creed can aspire to any level. Hope the merger goes through so that both parties can be enlightened and drag themselves more to the centre where the vast majority of Nigerians still are.

Biggyd2: Before this matter becomes statute barred families of the victims or those who lost properties should take steps to sue this company soon. Barr. Monday Ubani, current chairman of NBA Ikeja has started collating a list for those interested in a class action. People should be held responsible for their irresponsibilities. And whether we like it or not the lost souls will be crying out for justice. And this may actually bring some sought of closure for the families involved ie when the killers of their loved ones have been made to pay.
Quite agree. For those against moves like these. For your information this is how the private sector is trully regulated, not just by government but by the average consumer.

I am not surprised that Nigerians react to this. That's why we've had for instance a telecoms sector that hasn't developed properly. No one is held accountable, no one is hit where it hurts most the Corporate wallet.
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Vacancy For Paid Forum Moderator With Spam Management Focus by Reference(m): 7:19am On Jun 08, 2012
Bontee: Can see now that the management is waking up to his duties and hope it will not go the normal previous route of eventually giving it to a friend or someone they know. So is fighting spam not one of the duties of the present mods which we have right now or they are not paid as some of us have been thinking. Nairaland has gotten to a stage that you cannot go too forward anymore without shelling out the money, that was why nairalist failed because money was not spent and they did not seek for help.

I will advice for a different approach in fighting spam and the scope of duties should be expanded. There are other problems like insultivie posts, thread derailment, tribalism etc and i would advice to pick 3 - 5+ people to form a group and be responsible for that. They regular meet online, discuss, develop ideas and strategize how to go about their duties. The duties of all mods should include these duties as well but this people will act as supermods where their sphere of influence covers the entirely breadth of nairaland. Fighting spam on nairaland should not be limited to one person as you would need different ideas and strategies sourced from different people to do that.

Also nairaland should go the route of verified accounts in some sections, asking people who want to place adverts in some certain section to only send the ads to the mods for verification and posting else it will be outright ban for the offender. Let me stop here as all these might not be needed and let those interested in the job posts to see what the reply of seun should be. If you start banning people then there must be a way to force the guests to have an account and motivate everyone to make quality posts.

Take this thread https://www.nairaland.com/956441/top-5-priorities-before-selecting for example, it was a very good topic that was already developing into an intellectual discussion, you have your mods to further push the dimension of the discussion. Then at some point maybe on page two or three then the usual derailment begins and trusts me that's how it will go for a while, those derailers deserve to be warned or banned but nothing is going to happen to them.
D; D; Ehe, se am. Work never start you don change scope. Wetin concern spam with derailment and tribalism. Abeg no go there if you no one kill this site. Na cancer we wan remove, no be amputation we dey find.

aasog1: No cert as well. But I know a bad advert when posted. I could work for you on the property section....take out bogus adverts that dont have pictures on them.
And sanitize that sector, since the current mod there isnt interested in fixing this. just take a look at the adverts, just lands going for 100mil, not even a picture, or detailed explanation....guess it could use some sanitation, and i think including a registered engineer with a lawyer on the forum would make it perfect. let me know seun.
Or a survey plan for that matter. So fishy. I mean don't these guys feel that a land going for a quarter of a billion in Ikoyi or a mansion in Maitama for a billion doesn't deserve ten minutes with a digital camera.

Gentleman8888: all contributions are appreciated. Including the jokes.

So far seems the choice is going between Toyota Highlander, Lexus GX 470, Range Rover Sport or Acura MDX.

by the way its meant to be sold after my departure so practically will be used for less than a month . So a quick sale would be ideal as well in the consideration.

once again. Thanks everyone. You have been very helpful
The landcruiser I think has the best resale credentials of them all, anyday, anytime, any year.
