toba: i reiterate my stance that any car owner must have a knowledge about hs/hr car. it saves a lot of stress and money. This is a light-hearted thread. Don't spoil the fun nau. |
Captainajama: @ballabrigs,we should know when someone is actually trying to do a good thing. The police force is long overdue for reform and overhaul, just like PHCN. Take a closer look at this two sectors and you will find out that the magnitude of decay therein s quite overwhelming, GEJ is trying to do what no one has done in the 52 year history of this nation(simply to stop the conduit pipes connected into this sectors from draining us further) let us not be too pessimistic and give this administration a chance.I don't think you realise just how much 1.5 trillion is. Are we gunning for a police state. We should be wary of too much resources going into unaccountable hands. The police reform needed should first address the issue of equal access to justice. Absolute pan national neutrality, and not a police force that only responds to the executive and only expedites federal cases. Why on earth will members of a club contribute to a project for the sole benefit of the chairman. For what. I for one expect the national assembly to resist it if their members are quickly mauled by law enforcement while their executive collaborators are excused. I expect the judiciary to resist it when their judgements are not respected and I expect state assemblies to get their pound of flesh. But will they? |
ballabriggs: Nigerian Police needs more than financial reform. In fact they need Father Mbaka to lay hands on their head one-by-one.Honestly I for de laff if no be say I don tire with this kind news. Money, money, money. Day and night, money. No ideas, money. Before we think and plan, money. The little that goes to states and local governments they want to take back to fuel the ever bloated centre. I think at this point states should say no more. We want to take charge of our own security. If the Federal Government wants central law enforcement they should go to the IMF. |
ozalogbo: brilliant move by d house. Those who understand politics know what is happeningYou're absolutely right. Brilliant move. The Lower House has done extremely well and represents the closest thing to a sound government. A problem arises, they deal with it quickly and decisively. That is institution building. |
Maybe its better to arrive early and leave before the crowds arrive and since its a ppm issue, the bigger the pool the better. But this is really eye opening. You go to the beach and Fukushima is on your mind, you go to the pool and gross folks turn it to bio hazard. Why should a lady knowingly enter a pool while in her time. That's very selfish and uncaring. |
Recreational parks are the worst. Don't think they ever chlorinate the water. Well, the good thing is that when having fun you'll seldom remember the danger. |
PrinceDudu: When will this corruption of a thing stop. When we all get tired of it. |
AjanleKoko: The guy don fall my hand pieces. So says every grasscutter in a hunter's trap. Men, I didn't see that coming. That's what greed and corruption does to the mental faculty, it extinguishes reason. Why do you think this country is so desolate. |
Babzilla: the old man is right any woman when reach 35 no enter husband house is bad news-(Ha, ha. Good one. But I think the general desire is to have the right balance of respect to run things properly. The same reason for example that the Captain of your Dana flight will in all likelihood be older than the first officer and thus more experienced. But once more it is not a given, as hours on equipment matters. |
I will continue to have respect for the Lower House. I am not unduly worried about the saga but my satisfaction lies with the willingness of the House to deal with the matter and protect the institution they belong to. As far as I'm concerned they hold the moral high ground in the present government, willing to cut across party lines to solve problems. If only the other arms are even willing to admit their mistakes perhaps good governance will gain some traction. Where is the Upper House in all this. Not willing to risk getting their paws all messy when corruption fights back. |
double j1: See what i call diversion of attention. Fuel subsidy bribery to artillery.see diversion of attention!!!!!Oga it is called reality not diversion. When I say you have to solve the structural problem of Nigeria before you can even dream Sweden it appears we are talking bull. How can you fight corruption with a lopsided federation. Who will do the fighting, BH or NDPVF. In how many countries do you see conflict and accountability existing side by side. If the guvnor of Kano state in the midst of this confusion decides to raid the till who will question him. Who could question Murtala when he went into CBN during the height of the civil war. Could Gowon question him. If we don't urgently address the national question more resource sapping and corruption masking conflicts will kindle down the line. It is simple. Conflict and instability has always generated huge gains for a few. Nigerians are experts at that. Until the fuel - social injustice is removed from Nigeria the fires of corruption can NEVER be put out. Corruption is a game of numbers, power and conflict. Empower all Nigerians and corruption will die naturally. Corruption is to Nigerians what narcotics are to black americans. They are both powerless to resist. |
why are people supprised? you think the nigerian dont have an apache helicopter? I lived all my life in ojo cantonment and i see about 3 if you dont know. see pic of an apache copter
Where will you get one to buy. Or you think its like russian arms that you can buy for two a penny at Shoprite. You need a strategic defence pact with the US to get your hands on high tech american toys and am not aware Nigeria has appended any and not that we even qualify to anyway. |
femojie: Apache??Don't mind them, they enjoy sensationalism. If artillery pieces are being used in town and apache helicopters above then its certainly not the Nigerian Armed Forces cos the smallest piece they have is a 105 and I can't see anyone in his right mind unleashing that thing within 8 miles without very very serious collateral damage. And Apache's, hmm maybe na NATO invasion. |
ellipizle: the problem is who will implement the death penalty, is it the criminals themselve.Perhaps. When we can decide whether the chicken or the egg comes first. |
vicoloni: No, cos all Nigerians will die!Oh la la. |
Nwa Teacher: 1. When you stop living a life of pretence and be real and natural for once. 2. When you stop seeing any r/ship as an avenue of making money. Eating guys mugu. 3. When you start dressing like a lady who will change 2 be a mother 2moro. 4. When you start bringing good ideas to ur manIn essence there is a transition between a girl and woman, Miss and Mrs which requires a great deal of preparation and most men will look to see just how much construction or reconstruction is going on before buying into the project. I remain myself doesn't attract anything but spiders and cobwebs. |
naijasexy: LOL @ emboldened! Nothing wrong with aiming for the best o.You're dead wrong. Go back to point no. 4. |
buemene: It amazes me how some here reason when it comes to running a free tartiary institution. Nordic part of the world comprising of Iceland, Sweden, Norway etc have already demonstrated the sustainability and practicability of such an undertaken. Free tertiary education is a possibility and Owelle Rochas Okorocha wants to demonstrate it in Africa and all I see here is cynicism and criticism. Lets give him the needed succor. So how do they run theirs. |
Cool. His image rights though. |
tunapawizzy: All of u saying the police should have arrested farouk, thats not possible. Otedola gave his side of the story, farouk too needs to state his side. Its after him not honouring this invitation that the police can now go ahead and arrest him. Obviously the farouk guy is buying time so his fellow crooks can provide a sort of cover for him at their dishonourable sitting tomorrow. But seriously he can come out this mess clean. According to reports he went to otedolas house alone around 4am in the morning. Meaning he has no witness. Since he did not inform the police before the operations( he dun enter wahala already). As it is after their dishonourable sitting in that God forsaken chamber tomorrow, there is every possibility he will be picked up by the police. This is not to say otedola is not a thief too, but on this case otedola played like a complete street boy, comfirmed strategist. Karma will definitely hunt him down someday but not on this case. I will also be surprised if otedola did not carry jonathan along in this so called sting operation. Perfect way for goodluck to get back at farouk for dishonouring his choice of house speakership. Anyway May God punish them all from Goodluck to d smallest of them all that are using our lives to play politics. If it is a civil matter, yes. But in a criminal case with clear, analysed evidence in their possesion they can wait till the polar ice turns to pure water and still the felon won't show up. |
Alright. Let's set up a Marshal service to bring in fugitives. Doesn't Farouk Lawan have a police orderly carrying his tennis shoes and cream sodas. Phone the chap and ask where his boss is lounging. Surely that can't be hard, but to wait for bushmeat to gladly enter your trap. That one na fallacy. More popcorn and coke please. |
Liverpool should have waited.
Said it then that they should av waited for the Euros to end then some quality gaffers will come through. Now you have ol Arry and possibly Bert from the Dutch team looking for jobs soon. |
Walahi, no Law & Order series sweet pass dis. Make Hollywood come take original script. Sherlock Holmes - a game of dollars. Abeg who dunnit. |
He, he, he. Holland is out paving the way to the cup for the midgets from Catalunya. |
Billyonaire: There is a report issue on Otedola's side too. He was pressured by Lawan and according to him he had to go report to SSS....i love the sting operation that ensued. |
Billyonaire: There is a report issue on Otedola's side too. He was pressured by Lawan and according to him he had to go report to SSS....i love the sting operation that ensued. But I used to think 'sting operations' were the exclusive preserve of law enforcement and the media and not by parties of interest in a case. I mean Amos Adamu was stung by the British Press whom were vociferous in their opposition to FIFA and the 2018 WC bid England were participating in even to the detriment of their country's bid. But its sting could not have been taken seriously if the press had been involved in the bid or the media under investigation. Just thinking. Or has bribery become legal. Why didn't Otedola involve the press or the police in the sting as front row audience when as he alleged the bribe was solicited. I personally don't feel he should have walked out of Louis Edet without being covered in blood in this dog - baboon tango. |
Silva79: Bullshit! Is dis y dey havent been doing well?In summary, yes. Life is complex. |
991: we need good results from the super eagles and not morality. coach and train them to win trophies! we don't pay him to moralize them. next he will order all of them to barb skin cut(mala), stop drinking bottle water, stop eating with meat, nonsense!!So how do you get good results without morality. Next page is to holla corrupt public officers whose 9 to 5 is spent thinking of how to steal. Immorality and indiscipline is killing this country and sports has simultaneously de-graded. Keshi is wasting his time. Our football is in systemic failure arising from gross unprofessionalism. If players feel the importance of personal calls superceeds the full focus required in the few days of camp then little makes meaning to them. We will get not where with this bunch. |
rlcanon: pro-Ndidi Oyuike Okereke's sponsored group are at work. When would Nigeria as a state be sanitized? This is another campaign of CALOUMY.Nigerians beware and do not allow these inglorious bastards fool us.For this pretty woman(Oteh)is just at the verge of doing good things in SEC before all these mad dogs inventing and fabricating allegation. When corruption reaches our constituency na another story we go dey hear. This is why corruption will continue for generations to come. Every Nigerian has an interest that will open his mouth when required and shut it other times. |
ms pookie: i hope farouk Lawan's side of the story is TRUE! But, if Otedola's side of the story is true; why does he have to pay bribes when he wasnt involved in d importation of fuel, y wont he just stand his ground??Well the story is: If you are prepared to rope me in when I say I trade diesel only then I am prepared to soil your white babanriga. It is a rofo rofo fight by gangster rate. Oops, sorry Ghaddafi spokesman for plagarism. |
He should resign his positon immediately !
Who. The hunter or the bush meat or since we don't know who is chasing who let us declare a draw. |
Billyonaire: Just thinking aloud, with tablets of all kinds being lunched by different companies, Laptops or notebooks don't have to be thin, cos no one is carrying it around anymore, Laptop or notebook is meant for the desk while tablets can be light cos we move around with them. So emphasizing on thin and lightness is bull at this age cos tablet rules. Then on the speed, its remarkable but makes no difference. Retina vision, cool but not a reason to fling the present stocks in the market. I love it when techy companies try to bring out new products but then, this makes no difference to the world. Congrats Apple but, in the real sense, I guess, innovation has been exhausted.Don't think so. Every one of these devices has its place or point of optimum efficiency which perhaps may not be defined by performance. It appears the primary driver behind Apple's innovations is ergonomics. That's why they have a series of products that essentially do the same thing but are comfortable in different settings. For example, the I phone is great on the go, the tablet for field work but if you want to write reports you need a keyboard. My personal let down is the tablet. If only it could be used outside as a proper field instrument. |

i believe strongly farouk is smart enough not to involve himself in such.
