France is suffering from technical kwashiokor. |
Nothing. Absolutely nothing for France. Can't shoot straight, can't keep the ball. Can't do anything right. |
France had better make a game of this in the second half. This is too poor. |
These..... are everywhere like flies on a hog. Someone please help France. |
Les Bleaus. Only long range shots can undo these.... |
Damn midgets. |
rokiatu: And bathroom. There's a concept I once saw of what I can term an upscale studio. Completely open. The living area opens to the bed area, to the right an open bathroom (save a cubicled water closet), an open study and to the left of the living room just behind the bar an open kitchen leading to the porch and breakfast table. Dining of course on bar stools over the counter. Every segment on split levels with floor to ceiling windows. Very chic I tell you. |
Choi, see people having orgasms and laying eggs over "OPEN PLAN KITCHEN", I can bet my last 50kobo that the OP is an aboki-ress from a village in a remote place in the North
C'mon, don't laugh. We have very practical challenges that make it hard to implement. |
spyder880: And I suppose the extractors will be powered by solar, in this hot weather in Nigeria if Nepa take light! That's the problem and it affects our architecture here. For this reason all conveniences are located on the external walls thus robbing bedrooms of much natural lighting and sacrificing cross ventilation often. I mean to place a toilet in the middle of an average Nigerian house is just suicidal. |
To realistically have an open kitchen the average Nigerian home requires radical changes in culinary and living habits. First and most importantly you've got to guarantee regular water supply and electricity to keep it clean and odourless. Induction cookers and not gas to keep the heat down. Secondly practically all our meals here are cooked from their natural states meaning more time and more smells for longer. You could set your house alight preparing goat meat - the male type. I mean you could be smelling like a goat all the way to work. Thirdly and most challenging of all our kitchens are often full of clutter. Polybags, endless plastic bottles, packs and bins that just wouldn't look good across the living room. What do you guys think. |
Joey82: I seriously doubt if GEJ prepared himself for the position he is handling,Against who. Against what. Catch them, execute them then what. Or level Yobe, Kaduna and Bauchi. Choose. Because talk is cheap. How do you deal with an insurgency apolitically. Since the days of Yaradua has the military and intelligence community weakened or strengthened. These BH have also evolved since Yaradua time. They have retired from guerilla style tactics to full blown insurgency. This is no longer a military operation but an intel one and that's why Azazi is being asked questions cos the SSS are under his thumb. |
Kobojunkie: You don't need evidence to bring someone in for questioning. He was not to be arrested but questioned. Two different things.Easy for you to say now. If it had happened 24-hrs ago be honest will the Presidency not have been accused of ...... (fill the blanks with any word you like.) This is one problem that has no offensive solutions in the long term. The National Assembly had better open dialogue with the peoples of this region to first address the religious then the political challenges. That is the way forward. |
illitrate: the op is 100% right. i ve been in dubai for 4 years nowSo, with this disclosure what is the problem. |
You cannot be a successful housewife and a successful careerwoman at the same time.Career women should learn to make sacrifices, everything is not always about money.Family matters sometimes.
Correct guy. You can't have ultimate achievements in both. Life is a balance and wisdom is striking the right one. If am Marco Polo why marry and put someone under duress. The situation is like AS marrying AS then coming to Nairaland with tales of woe. Conventional wisdom says no. Men and women who wish to take their careers to the Zenith better literarily take their spouses along. In this case the man is clearly wrong and is divorcable (permit) by both church and state but the ball is in her court. If she wants to maintain the jet setting she should cut him loose. And by the way what is a childless couple doing with a female househelp. What exactly is going on in that household. |
401kk: No its not.I see. So where is the capital coming from. If the states involved - Niger, Kogi, etc are ready to fund the new entity, fine. They can create states by the square metre. |
Just thinking. If I were to spend 20 years in grade school surely at some point no amount of teaching could make me better academically but you must admit that probably only 1 - 5% of us can attain high school within a couple of years. So why should intending couples rank themselves among the 1 - 5 percentiles of natural bonders when they probably cannot take criticism, snore at night, pee on the toilet floor, cannot cook and know only one sex position. These are real issues. |
Sagamite: You might not need donkey years but you do need a good length of time to make sure you are not basing your life decision and risk purely on faith. To put it frankly. |
I know time isn't a popular thing with ladies but that glich in the software produces a proportionately higher dissatisfaction within that gender in cases where relationships are rushed. The key is starting out early and coming to terms more quickly. But once again the software glich won't permit that. Men on the other hand practice relationships years before they get into any and years before they are ready to settle down so they know what to expect and have built the necessary internal infrastructure to make them stable once in it. Once again its the time factor. |
Otses: Long or short courtship does not determine if a marriage will work. Some people say that when you get married after a short time to somebody then you should get ready for surprises. But believe me, no mater how long courtship is, someone who is hiding his or her character will still do. Its just the grace of God, and you should study each other to the best of your ability, because there is bound to always be surprises no mater how long of short you court. You're picking extremes. Marraige doesn't differ substantially from other relationships. Some hit it off from the get go while others take years to forge. What we are saying refers to the vast majority across most cultures and backgrounds that last fairly long. Do a proper search and you discover that generally relationships take time. Even the concept of a successful marraige is open to debate. Is it longevity, happiness, wealth or a combination of these elements and how they suit the individuals involved. I'm yet to see two people agree on every possible thing and it doesn't take two to shut down a marraige. Its all relative so look for the mean. |
Yes, the length of time is important however the content is the objective and matters more. In the sense that an intending couple may get engaged and stay aloof or in deceit however even against the most solid facades time is a good wearing agent. There is a minimum practical time any structure can be built and that includes relationships. |
Zeddicus: Its very easy to sit behind a keyboard and spew trash. With all the GEJ bashing and all, am yet to see someone come up with a reasonable method of combating BH. If you think he ain't doing enough, suggest what he should do! And if you find out you don't really have a solution, call yourself all the names you've ever called GEJ!!Exactly. I've not heard of 1 (one), just one, only one suggestion as to how the insurgency can be contained and this to me says so much about the quality of criticism found here and around the country and that's why this problem will continue for a while. If the aim of BH is regime change where are those who support democracy, party politics and political pluralism. None. They rather ask the President to resign at the bequest of violence. If BH seeks some sort of Caliphate where Sharia law rules where are those who believe in Nigeria's secularity and will stand up for freedom of worship and association. None. They rather attack the symbol of that plurality just to score a point. Even the exiting NSA implies that without reverting to the status quo he cannot do his job indirectly saying the President is ineligible to rule the country once again conceeding to violence. I think it is time for us as a people to turn our attention and focus our frustrations rightly on this violence because once it assumes legitimacy as a tool for political or religious change, it will be a pandoras box that all governments in the future whether good or bad, ours or theirs, favourable or unfavourable will be afflicted with. We are sowing bad seeds in our democracy. |
ifeci: He was fired for saying the truth!I keep on hearing this statement. What exactly did he say that may have led to his sack. I seem to be out of touch here. |
The soul is the interface between the body, the earth and all that is visible, tangible, etc in its temporal form and the spirit in whichever spiritual realm, God and all that is permanent, intangible, that exists eternally. The soul is the seat of the mind that interacts with the tangible by feelings and senses and interacts with the spirit or spiritual things by faith. |
jmaine: The misrepresentation is common to those not conversant with the Akwa-Cross Terrain . . . .Reminds me of a funny episode years back, when a customer care Manager in a bank embarassed himself in a vain loud attempt to correct me that Calabar was a State, and the info i furnished about where i initially opened my account was fakeWell technically he hasn't wondered too far. You can do five hours on the highway and still be in Cross-River with Calabar tucked away by the waterside and Boki, Obudu a mountain away. When he said storms I wondered because you won't get any storms as far south as Calabar at this period in the season. |
Shaq MacDowell, taking straight no addition, 1 bottle daily smoke 2 jumbo of SK and ciao 1nce a day, you go dry pass Freestyle
Post of the month. Oh la la. |
And while you are at it kindly name one country that has succeeded in rooting out fundamentalism (whether religious, political or ideological) by force of arms, internal or external security alone, globally. |
Kobojunkie: Um . .. all the House can do is CREATE THE LAWS . That is all the CONTROL the National Assembly has when it comes to ensuring Security in this Nation. We already have good laws-- many as strong as those obtained in advanced societies. What we lack however remains a WEAK head in the executive arm of our Government. That is why implementation takes place and if those existing laws are not being put to use, what can National Assembly do about that? Impeachment?Okay I give up. But can you give 1 (one). Just one practical suggestion on what should be done that isn't at the moment to tackle this problem. Be practical. Just one. |
What are the reps from those areas affected saying. Or they too are relocating to Abuja to represent who in the House, the good people of their households including wives, children and househelp. If they have taken off they should simply be recalled and perhaps Qaqaa (or whoever) himself assumes the chair so we can start to solve this problem. |
Kobojunkie: Sure, if you elected them to lead in that particular area.Kobo this is not about laws. BH has been outlawed over and over again. The place is heavily militarised. DMI and the SSS are on the ground full time. What else can you possibly add to this. Kaduna and Yobe are on lock down. Does that solve the problem. Will it stop another movement when the curfew is lifted. Or you want an Odi type operation that will just multiply the movement. There is no security solution to fundamentalism. You will fight it till you go bankrupt like the US. The solution lies in the body of representatives who should be busy debating the basis of our collective existence under this federation with the reps from those areas at the fore front, in the hot seat just as the reps from the ND in those days. But alas no one is asking them anything so they have nothing to debate and nothing to take to the Executive to implement so rather than being a structural problem it is viewed as an internal security problem alone. So keep on fighting. |
Kobojunkie: What evidence do you have for this claim of yours??Okay let me try in as few words as possible. The National Assembly which he heads represents the shortest distance between the ordinary man and the centre which controls the security apparatus. If you understand this dynamic in the light of the fundamental reasons behind this insurgency then you are half there. I reapeat again. This battle going on is for the soul of Nigeria. That's why after every mindless carnage BH is quick to remind us of Jos and lately Kaduna. Have you stopped to ask why and if so please be reminded again. This problem cannot be solved by the Executive because of obvious bias but by both Houses because their members represent both sides of the argument BH is afraid or unable to spell out because it is simply ridiculous. |
Kobojunkie: Again . . .Kobo wake up. There's nothing security can do against this issue. Fundamentalism is a root issue. If you live in a swamp you will struggle eternally against vermins all your life no matter how much you spend. Your solution lies in either draining the swamp or relocating. Tambuwal has done the latter. I say drain the swamp. |
