Here is one of the reasons I think instrumentalists, especially the ones with no other job, should be paid.. No matter how little.

This is one of several things going on in churches. Underneath all that fine attires people wear to church, there are big problems even the church leaders can't help them solve. Do people in church still care about the well-being of others sef? Every body just OYO.

I know the church can't cater for every problem but 11 years is too long for him not to matter enough for them to pull some strings together and get him help. Either they help him get his license or help his mother.

I pray your friend gets the help he needs.. I'd also not advice him to remain in that church, not because they couldn't help him but because I don't see love in the church. Let's forget the "You are serving God not men" line.. Every one needs appreciation and for a church that couldn't show the love they say Christianity is about (if they preach love at all), not even by giving emotional support, Let him just leave. If he stays because of what people would say, He might end up developing hate or bitterness for the church.

If he goes the wrong way to get the money now or stops going to church.. The same church people will talk about how "brother Timothy has gone astray" and cast him away.

These systems called Churches eh cry

It is usually a cycle for me, before going into the hall, I'd be Number 1, after seeing the questions, I'd be number 12 (I'd even think back to secondary school and wish I chose Art class grin ) and las las, I'll be Number 3 and just write what I can. grin grin

My parents never really flogged me, Mum the disciplinarian preferred punishments. I still remember that day in 2008 when I served different types of punishment for hours because I was 4th in class.. That day, I almost became crippled. And I don't know if it was the punishment of that day o but afterwards, till I left secondary school, the worst I had was 2nd position.

The day in 2006 when she used a broom nko. Goodness! My cousin helped me remove the broomsticks from my flesh ni

TBH, some Nigerian parents are too harsh biko. And some of us don't see it as a problem, all in the name of being "typical".

I totally agree with the post, the disadvantages of getting them a phone at that stage outweighs the advantages.

I started using a mobile at 8-9, registered on FB at 12, I used to sneak my aunt's phone to browse and I can't tell how much all that affected me. I'm making sure same doesn't happen to my siblings.

If you are blessed enough, a general PC in the house or your personal system can help them do researches on assignments. I think the best thing is to let them have a phone they use after school for a limited time and also on weekends..that should help them from the temptation of getting a phone without your knowledge.

She was wrong for not being honest but she might not be cheating.

What if she lied because she was not sure about how the guy would take the fact that she was going out with another guy? I mean, we hide some things from some people not because they are bad but because these people might take it the wrong way.

I think your friend should just hear her out and not propose yet.. If he is sure she is faithful and can trust her again, fine, but if not, it is okay to let go.

Kenneth4u205:
The whole 7 tips you listed are useless. What people need in order to be early to church is THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVING IN THEIR HEART .AND ALSO THE HOLY SPIRIT LIVING INSIDE THE CHURCH.only the holy spirit in your heart can put the hunger of being in God's presence always .also the holy spirit died long ago in many churches .no life in such churches .Jesus himself said that nobody can come to me except the father draws him .people will always come late to church if the presence of the holy spirit is absent in that church .I've been to churches where people start coming to church at around 12AM midnight so as to be able to get seat in the main auditorium.it is the presence of the holy spirit in such churches that makes people to be in church 7 hours before commencement of service .what the churches need today is the active presence of the holy spirit. Not just big beautiful building .
While I don't agree that the post is useless, I agree that the abscence of the Holy Spirit affects our attitude to church. I found it hard to attend fellowship meeting at a point, it just seemed boring to me and a waste of time, I stopped enjoying the services. It later dawned on me that I had not been keeping in touch with the Father on my personal altar, I had neglected the fellowship with the Holy Spirit and that was why church didn't interest me because I could not connect to the service spiritually. Some churches are lifeless these days, nothing goes on in the spiritual let alone physical. It is well.

May God forgive me. I've been to church like four times in the last 15 Months. Am so hurt by same people whom we dine, fellowship, so called family. My spiritual life is weak but the Lord Jesus Christ has been there for me and blessing me beyond words and expectation.
Oh.. God's faithfulness is not based on our services to Him. Having a sound spiritual life takes a conscious effort.. You just have to decide, it doesn't have to be smooth as long as the desire is there, The Father will sure see you through.. It is okay if you have your devotion today and don't do it tomorrow, you will find out you will later become committed but you can start by challenging yourself to do it for a week without break while continually praying that God revives and renews your spirit because unless your spirit is quickened, unless the Holy Spirit is in, within and upon you, spiritual activities might seem boring.
I'd also suggest you forgive those people and find another good church because until we get to a particular level in our spiritual life, church-going would affect us. Church and personal activities go hand-in-hand. They will both helo your growth.
What we do personally( Devotion, Bible study, Worship, Prayer, Listening to messages and practising what we learn)always matters most than what we do in church gatherings tho, so make a commitment to revive and strengthen your spiritual life. God help us all.

Hehe.. I support him. Though I hardly see movies.
Most Nollywood movies have nothing to offer, even the supposed entertainment we ought to get is nothing. Not to sound tribalistic but those Igbo Nollywood movies are the worse.. Hian.. Long, usual and boring storylines. The Yoruba ones and their subtitles na die grin Every actress is white, every problem is diabolical and no professionalism.. I saw one yesterday where a lady at the background of the scene was battling with a system just to log in to the system that is supposedly hers. She kept punching and punching grin
The ones from the North eh, I manage to read the subtitles but they are just like Indian movies too.. Too long and dull.

Regardless, I appreciate them and I know the industry can always get better.

Hollywood sci-fi movies all the way for me.. Those are the movies that portray the realities we don't realize cheesy

I think people who watch Indian, Korean, Phillipino and some Telemundo movies should not criticize Nollywood though. grin

Romance / Re: We Met In Church: How “No Sex Before Marriage” Destroyed My Marriage by Reinah(f): 6:24am On Sep 09, 2018
This story mighy be fake but issues like this could be happening. It is quite sad how people place so much unneccessary importance on white/church weddings, oh! It was important when couples used to stay celibate till that night, it showed purity. If you got pregnant before then, you couldn't have church wedding but times have changed, people do it without being celibate and even with pregnancy. Didn't our forefathers get married before Christianity came? Even the Europeans had weddings before Queen Victoria started the white wedding. What makes the wedding above others, the vows or wedding dress?

Traditional marriage is as important as others.. As long as the dowry has been paid(Culture) and the law(Court certificate) recognizes you as man and wife. My aunt had to do court marriage after 10 years of church wedding because the church couldn't confer a post on her without a court marriage certificate. If I had my way, court and traditional wedding is just enough for me. I'd just get a pastor and interested church people to be there..shebi it is for the church to recognize us ni? grin I'd not waste time and resources on white wedding. God is everywhere and Jesus didn't give rules for wedding but that the marriage bed be undefiled.

In other news; #NoSexUntilMarriage is bae grin

True. That is how China plans to become the world power; Economic takeover. They will get into a country's economy, become so important and run things. It is sad that the people at the helm of all these affairs will be dead or irrelevant when things become bad. And to think that we have a lot of funds being wasted on political frivolities.

On the other side, I don't want to believe they will be able to take over the country tho... There's something about that Naija spirit that makes us undauntable (just being positive) grin

LWKM.. I'm not so surprised at this baseless comment, what in my post depicts I was after the guy's money?

I know a lot of girls are after money but not all girls.. I'm more attracted to a sound mind, someone who knows a little about everything, willing to learn and explore, a partner I can discuss and learn a whole lot from. I didn't grow up asking and following guys for money not even as a young teenager. Money does not move everyone, some people just need commitment and companionship. I've had a partner for more than two years and I can recall that I've asked him for a loan just once to get enough cash for something I really wanted to do but he said he was broke at that monent and I ended up not doing what I needed the money for. That was over a year ago and I've never asked him for #5 since then.

So, biko stop going about with this stereotypical mentality about ladies. If your money has been "chopped" severally, sorry about that. E go better eh
