Hi Mods,

I nominate onlytruth.

The rest are trouble makers.
PoliticsRe: Can We Have Eze Ndi Igbo Nairaland? by remarkD(m): 5:07pm On Dec 05, 2011
Monday Editorial: Akija_juju needs more than juju to win the primaries for Eze Ndigbo Nairaland.

He has been campaigning rigourously in the last few days.

Has taken shots at other nominees.

He has made promises, of heaven for Ndigbo,

and of hellfor the enemies of Ndigbo.

Even children above the age of 6 are included in his vision,

the unborn generations  are not left out either.

He is the only nominee that has campaigned openly for himself, in order to garner more votes; however, he still has only one nomination.

One.

just one.

Why?

Is it that ndigbo don't believe him?

Or because of his opinion about   the (late sad , )Dim Ikemba 1 of Nnewi, whom the Igbos love and adore.

The voters are probably having a tough time believeing that  one who speaks against the defender of Ndigbo, will surely defend Ndigbo as he is saying he would.

it hasn't been said in the open, but although Akija_juju has a vision and dream he would want to bring into reality for Ndigbo, his views on Ojukwu is what is costing him a nomination, talk less of being elected Eze Ndigbo of Nairaland.

As if that is not enough, he has taken shots at the darling of the igbo populus on nairaland - Onlytruth, whom leads  the nomination with 13 votes (the extreme other end of the list from where Akija_juju is with one vote).

But the race is still open, anything can happen. as he carries on with his campaign, it would be a strategic move for him to withdraw all negative comments made against Ikemba and his fight for the Igbo people of Nigeria; the effect of this action may or may not be significant; but so far, it will take some powerful juju to bring Akija_juju  to the top of the nomination list, less Eze ndigbo of Nairaland.

Could one liken Onlytruth to Ojukwu, and Akija_juju to the Great Zik of Africa?  - with lofty dreams too broad for Ndigbo.

Readers comments  are welcome.

How many nominations is each person entitled to?

if one, then i go with onlytruth - haven't seen him lose his cool; knows how to choose his battles - and of course ignore the ignoramuses, and he's intelligible on ihe gbasara ndi Igbo.
The description of 'Eze' does fit him well.

if more than one nomination is allowed, then i'd also nominate dede1 and eziogu - based on their knowledge and wisdom, , and insightfulness.

i'd also nominate Igbo boy, but he is more of a fighter, the wrestler whose back never touches the ground. those whom havent read his posts should read threads where he's taking on rival tribalists, you go laugh tire. the tribalists that have crosssed paths with him now go mute whenever he shows up! pure class act!

if warriors were to be chosen, i'd nominate him, Gadaya and Chino11 as they have different ways to tackling their opponent , wit, venom and fake pictures respectively lol.
PoliticsRe: Why Did Adekunle Make This Statement by remarkD(m): 11:28am On Nov 29, 2011
@Bashr8, yeah its not about Awolowo, i was just replying the m0r0n spreading false information without any source.

btw i said its nothing to be ashamed of the way Awolowo died, i meant in your culture; because in my culture, it is forbidden! Tufiakwa!
PoliticsRe: Let's Have Your Complaints Here by remarkD(m): 4:11am On Nov 28, 2011
Dear Mods,

On the suicide threads, i strongly believe you should unlock the Awolowo threads and delete the Ojukwu ones. Reason is that:

- the Awolowo suicide thread had a source posted (at least the one i read) a respectable/verifiable website and thus is source/grounds for debate.

- However, the Ojukwu suicide thread (that i saw) had absolutely no source or link to it. (its like spreading rumours, not 'like' it IS spreading unsubstantiated rumors).
If there is an article, a source , then i think it makes more of an arguement to leave it as well.

So please, re-open the Awolowo suicide threads so i can make my own humble contributions smiley

and if/when there is a source that confirms Ojukwu's cause of death, by all means put it up too. i await your response, thanks smiley

Fellow Igbos, who shall we look up to now? cry

The crop of leaders we have, , (some) they're trying, but not in the same esteem as Ojukwu.

i have a sad feeling it might take another or a couple of generations to find someone that will fit his shoes, maybe his grand kids.

Also, it would have to take (i hope not shaa) something drastic that will make such a person emerge.
(as the polgroms mae him stand up and say enough is enough).

Much respect to this man, the general. i can only imagine the type of burial he'll receive. (heard growing up that people's heads are used to bury kings, i would donate the cut off heads of blue toothpick and 6 of his trirbalistic friends
G grin

btw @freecocoa, although i dont like seeing these tribalists getting the attention the crave (which their parents didnt give them) via being responded to, the way you tackle them sometimes is worth a good read and laugh lol esp reminding one of how he cleans his bum (after a good phoop) - with a kettle and his hands! roflmao!
PoliticsRe: Ojukwu (Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu) Is Dead by remarkD(m): 2:27am On Nov 28, 2011
It has been a sober weekend for me, as i spent it reflecting on the life of this man i would venture to call great.
Re-reading articles and interviews, speeches and video clips, i was moved twice, nay, thrice. the first was initially hearing the news, it was a bit of a shock for 3 seconds that i held my breath, and when i breathed out again, its like tears welled up and wanted to roll down my eyes. it was hard news, the great and mighty is no more.

ii was moved again when watching his speech on youtube, part 1 of 2 whhich i believe was the 2nd year anniversary of the war. As he narrated the events leading to the war, he came to a phrase that the way he said it, with a slight change in the tone of his voice, made me feel like i was feeling exactly what he felt, and i almost wept instantly. the words , "but we had no real choice" , would have made me enroll into the Biafran army, had i been alive then. it sounded genuine, honest, deep, turue and of course, moving.

thirdly, listening to BBC and hear the Ikemba roar "this is genocide! this is genocide" with the crowds heard in the background, gave me the shivers. He roared like a lion, he fouht like one, and shall forever remain in our hearts.

Adieu brave one. May the good lord keep your soul and give your family the fortitude to bear your loss. and may the vision you had for your people never die. A visionary leader you were, one of a kind. Bless you, bless your soul, Pa Ojukwu cry crycrycrycrycrycrycrycrycrycrycrycrycrycrycrycrycrycry
PoliticsRe: Interview With Ojukwu, comments On The Coup And Awolowo by remarkD(m): 2:05am On Nov 28, 2011
Hmm reading through the 3 pages so far, i've moved from believing Awolowo was released by Ojukwu, then Gowon, back to Ojukwu, and with Katsimoto's recent "perspective facts", back again to Gowon.

But the bone of contention which should settle it is knowing whom had control of the prisons in Calabar. Ojukwu said in the interview that Calabar took orders from him, and the Gowon proponents say it was under Gowon's command. Logically, given the state of things at the time, both scenarios are possible because (not to repeat the facts again) (since Calabar was in Eastern Nnigeria which Ojukwu commanded) Ojukwu did not recognize Gowon's authority; and Gowon was head of state too.

@Katsimoto, found that source indicating Murtala Mohammed's car drove Awolow back?

@Oldtime, Ojukwu called Awolowo "funny", from that post of yours, i'll apply that term to you as well. Are you a descendant of Awolowo?

@k d l u r, couldn't have said it any better myself. We're all in Nigeria which needs serious transformation, and all we do is bitch-in.g each other. Like Stevie Wonder sings, heaven help us all.

Peace out.

PoliticsRe: Abia State Diagnostic Center Video: by remarkD(m): 7:37am On Nov 26, 2011
chino11 = onye ara Anambra, moreso eze ndi ara 1 of Anambra lol

Dude i feel childish doing this with you - comparing states; yet this is your nl full time job to diss other states anytime  Anambra is mentioned - all the time. how old are you? All of Igbo land, all of Nigeria needs development and there's no point for grown ups to be acting like little kids arguing whose mother's cooking is better.
PoliticsRe: Abia State Diagnostic Center Video: by remarkD(m): 7:23am On Nov 26, 2011
Did i tell you already that you got nothing on Umuahia? heard of Umudike?
have i sang you that song? that our milkshake brings all the boys to our state? Damn right! tis better than state ndi ara!
PoliticsRe: Abia State Diagnostic Center Video: by remarkD(m): 7:21am On Nov 26, 2011
Oh there you are still posting, i knew it you  have nothing on Umuahia, is why you keep posting bad roads in Aba and calling it Umuahia. *shakes head*  You say "more on Umuahia" and post faulks road video  in Aba popularly bad for ages when the military were even in  power. Boy, you are irredeemable.

you know it,  accept it! swallow the bitter pill, you got nothing on Umuahia, talkless Abia state, have you benen to Igberre? or Ohafia?
anyways, keep posting your shitty pictures  which either is your state or better than your state! onye ara Anambra!
PoliticsRe: Abia State Diagnostic Center Video: by remarkD(m): 7:12am On Nov 26, 2011
Our milkshake brings all the boys to the yard, danm right! - its better than yours!!! I'm sure you've worn Aba no ji shirt before, might even be wearing one now; you depend on this state for your clothing and shoes and accessories , you onye ara of Anambra! come off it, don't hate appreciate, and respect Abia State! No. 1 state!Abia is God's own State - unu anugo!. (i was still going to ask you for a video or pics of Umuahia, but then i remembered what your trademark is lol will pull a dirty picture out your behind which is a town in Anambra and call it Umuahia cheesy)
PoliticsRe: Abia State Diagnostic Center Video: by remarkD(m): 4:43am On Nov 26, 2011
, and can someone post the link to the thread with nolongtin, cause i'm betting this chino11 guy must've posted fake ictures as always.

@KC3000 i tried calling out Kobo on his/her devious ways, but gave up cause it wasnt gonn go anywhere - when someone wants to believe what they want to believe and determined not to change their minds about it, no need trying.
of all the so called research he/she has done, and all the links she posted, (at first none said anything about the centre, until she found that did, but still) none said the diaspora funded those machines, the CT, MRI machine etc,
The video said Alaoma hospital was bought over by T.A. and turned to this centre and equipped, but Kobo will say that a diagnostic centre already existed which , i don't even know the point trying to be made by this Kobo sef. Anyyway, believe what you want to believe, leave Abia alone for Abians, Abians aren't complaining, T.A. is working, (majority of) Abians are happy, , the rest of you can , you know where to go! lol
PoliticsRe: Abia State Diagnostic Center Video: by remarkD(m): 4:31am On Nov 26, 2011
rofl@chino11, dude you are so self-defeating with your posts. its your trademark to post false pictures, and the funny part is when you take a picture from your own state, (dirty and unkempt as it is) and claim it is a city in another state, that just shows that you know the truth, but don't want to accept it.The way you gloat about Anambra is unnecessary, i'm beginning to think that even Ebonyi is better to live in thanAnambra. Not all cities or areas in every state is developed, but i dare anyone wo has visited Umuahia to say that its not the nicest cities, not only in the south-east, but whole of the country.its well planned, the road networks are good, and believe you me (here's a secret) , those that say T.A. is not working is cause he's spending time developing Umuahia heheh (more than other areas i must add).

so chino11, crawl back to your hole, case closed. Abia State is God's own State. no. 1 State. Accept it, or go figure what to do with a transformer lol. though something tells me you'll prefer to post more fake pictures and spew more thrash to defend Anambra, state ndi ara grin (of course i'm kidding lol)

@Wuli wuli? is that your name? The person that said the lives of Yorubas are worthless (it took some for me to type that phrase) , i want to know why you say that. What drives you to that point to see the life of a fellow human being as worthless? or of a whole ethnic group.

I thought you didn't mean it the first timeyou said it, but then you repeated it again, giving me another shock, why do you feel that about your fellow Nigerian?
PoliticsRe: Senator Oluremi Tinubu To Award N13 Million Grant To Petty Traders by remarkD(m): 7:33am On Nov 25, 2011
Eko-ole, methinks you're the one that can't pull your y.ansh off Tinumbu's d.ick, it like its stuck in there and continously secrets semen into your blood stream that goes to your brain, and since he's a tribalist, it only makes sense for you to spew tribalistic trash all the time. no surprises at all. What an empty vessel you are, making noise all over the place. Oh, you're Yoruba, nevermind the last part.
PoliticsRe: Abia State Diagnostic Center Video: by remarkD(m): 5:24am On Nov 25, 2011
lol *shakes head* no dey fall my hand like that nah. You edited your post and included a second link which you post the contents, but again fails to support what you said that "some of the idea was initiated by nigerians in diaspora and much of the funding for the units came from them as well", yet absolutely no where in what you posted did it say those (kind and wonderful) people in diaspora have anythiing to do with thee diagnostic center.
I'm not sure why you aren't getting it, did you watch the video? maybe that's it, cause you'll see that we're talking of ultra sound machines, CT scanners, digital x-ray machines etc and not beds, pillows and refridgerators (which were not indicated to be given to this diagnostic centre), i rest my case, Kobo, Maybe you're right, i need your type of education to see the connection between those links you gave and the video in the topic.
PoliticsRe: Abia State Diagnostic Center Video: by remarkD(m): 4:13am On Nov 25, 2011
What's the connection between the link you provided and the topic? Oh wait! There's none! Did you get it mixed up? or, ? Diagnostic and dialesis both start with a 'D' but that's it! lol
PoliticsRe: Abia State Diagnostic Center Video: by remarkD(m): 3:11am On Nov 25, 2011
that's why i just smh when i see people saying Abia State is this and that blah blah, yet they haven't been there, or just stopped at Aba (which i agree needs some work - but Aba has always been raggidy from time). The governor let the media have a field day and didnt spend unnecessary money to get people singing his praises all over the internet and nairaland as we have some people here believed to be on their governors pay roll lol.
Take it or leave it, in the south east Abia is only behind Enugu and Imo (my opinion shaa) cause Umuahia is a beautiful city and Abia is God's own State! Una nugo!!

PoliticsRe: Forget Ogbunigwe, Ever Heard Of Autonov 1? by remarkD(m): 10:12pm On Nov 15, 2011
The OP is indeed an interesting character.

I say so ‘cause:

- No one claimed to have pictures of the Ogbunigwe, and he comes up asking, rather demanding for pictures as if he was promised something that wasn’t being given to him….

- He derails his own thread! – what has Dr. Phil and co. got to do with the great invention, autonov and the fire cracker Ogbunigwe?

(Maybe he did that cause he needed a breather from defending, rather poorly, his lovely autonov1).

- He doesn’t know when to quit, or maybe HOW to quit. Probably needs an autonov more than anyone else.

(Mods, please delete all those derailing posts; it ruins it for those reading it and rofl from the first page)
PoliticsRe: The Worst State Capital You Have Visited by remarkD(m): 12:18am On Nov 13, 2011
Some people are saying places they've never visited, but just heard about. These people are easy to spot 'cause they (for some reason) get offended if their state of origin in mentioned, and then try to deflect to somewhere else they've heard stories about.
People are funny.
PoliticsRe: Forget Ogbunigwe, Ever Heard Of Autonov 1? by remarkD(m): 11:35pm On Nov 12, 2011
Oh my goodness! Page 1 of this thread is friggen hilarious! I would definately vote it the funniest thread 2011!
Thanks OP!

@Manny, you and I know the OP has no answers to the questions you pose. He can't swallow his pride and say that there is no basis for comparison. He just hates the Ogbunigwe cause it was made by Igbos (thats what i gather from his posts anyways). But he ended up giving us an avenue for some good entertainment/humor shaa,

The satellite decoder or whatever it is the earlier poster mentioned would be a more reasonable arguement if it did have a function/purpose that it met.
The "firecracker" as he calls it or "stupid Ogbunigwe" served its purpose (was gonna say you should ask Murtala Mohammed what happened to his troops trying to cross into Onitsha, but dude aint here no more);but this , i dunno what to call it , that the OP is trying to promote has nothing whatsoever it was used for back then.

Maybe it could be useful today in fighting BH, then we can have a basis for comparison. nuff said. good night folks, once again, thanks for such a light-hearted thread.

One love.
PoliticsRe: Can The North Stand Alone? by remarkD(m): 8:43am On Nov 10, 2011
@topic, its also pertinent to ask what factors determines whether a region can stand on its own or not, then we can go from there. If we going by IGR as has been brought up (and answered) its just a matter of raising taxes. Btw you guys should find out how much income tax the Danes are paying shocked
PoliticsRe: Can The North Stand Alone? by remarkD(m): 8:36am On Nov 10, 2011
And I join onlytruth in asking why the Yoruba tribalists leave the thread when their Igbo counterparts show up to take them on? Only to show up when their matches are gone to continue derailing the thread and being a menace to those wanting to have a normal, civilised and logical conversation void of tribalistic jargon.

if you really enjoy spewing trash around, then do it with those that like it too so you guys can knock yourselves out. angry
PoliticsRe: Can The North Stand Alone? by remarkD(m): 8:30am On Nov 10, 2011
Nah wah oh! O nweghi ihe mmadu n’agaghi ahu na nairaland!

This thread has just been 12 pages of emptiness, and I really shook my head when I saw people ‘congratulating’ Desola or whatever her name is – it was kinda funny too; for such people someone is a champion’ and really smart for saying stuff like … (paraphrasing) “You can’t teach me anything cause I’m Yoruba and you’re Ibo” … even if there wass an ethnic group called Ibo, how intelligent are you thinking that your race/ethnic group makes you smarter than another? Chai! Iberibe wu oria.
So when her kinfolk come out to lift her on their shoulders, it looks pitiful lol. Cause absolutely nothing she said made any sense or was logical. They’d cheer on a loudmouth, all fluff and no substance, over someone like Ekt_bear that (tries to) argue with reason.
^^^ I just had to comment on this cause it really doesn’t make Yorubas look good, and feeds the stereotype that they are all words, no action.
