We never stick to project timeline completion date in this Nigeria. Something they initially promised would be completed by March this year, as at 16 months ago: https://www.thecable.ng/sylva-port-harcourt-refinery-to-refine-60000-bpsd-by-q1-2023/amp
Politics › Re: NIGERIA/NIGER WAR: Perception About Nigeria. by RenaissanceGuy:
It's not a war. I don't know why ignorant people are pushing this propaganda. It's going to be a dislodging operation that won't even take more than 1 week, if Ecowas plays their game well. It happened in Sierra Leone in 1998, Ivory Coast in 2011 and Gambia in 2017. This is NOT new.
Politics › Re: Tinubu Appoints Mojoyinoluwa Dekalu-Thomas As NELMCO MD/CEO & Executive Director by RenaissanceGuy:
Who's even in charge of pushing threads to FP?? Why must important information always be contained in the titles of thread?? Can't this topic be: 'Tinubu appoints new CEO for so and so' without mentioning the person's name or including all the three titles gringrin, until the person clicks to read it.??
If I've seen all the information from the title, why would I then bother myself to click to read??
Memphitz357:
Nairaland's MODS are the most dumbest set of individuals currently parading earth's surface.
That was too harsh sha, but the person in charge of wording or rewording FP thread titles has been doing a very horrible job.
Politics › Re: Abuja-Kaduna Highway Only 20% Completed – Umahi by RenaissanceGuy:
When is the FG going to start incorporating sidewalks on our federal roads?? Why should they always end up in between grasses and red muds??
SmartPolician:
Sidewalks? What are you doing in the middle of nowhere? undecided You be thief? 😂
slowice:
Highway with sidewalks? Are you high? Where are you walking to?
Larryndelaw:
...
MODIFIED: Lol. I can see people saying it's not necessary. Well, not in all cases, but there are a lot of places where you see people standing by the road side on federal roads. What am I even saying sef, apart from Abuja and Lagos, are there other states that build sidewalks on their local roads??
Politics › Re: Kano Approves ₦854m For Mass Wedding, ₦700m For BUK Students’ Fees by RenaissanceGuy:

It's still on warranty. Go for a replacement free of charge. I did same.

IyaTola:
You dumb because most people are currently in such situation and many are in my DM asking if they should take teaching jobs less than 50k.
Lie. You copy previous NL threads or stories from Facebook, IG or Twitter and post them just for FP. Who will see your satanic profile picture and choose to send you mails asking for career advice??

Give evidence that 100% of Niger people support the coup. So because you saw tens of thousands of hired people rallying in support of the military automatically means everybody in Niger is happy about the coup?? Even if majority is in support of illegality, does it automatically make it legal??
Politics › Re: El-rufai Warns ECOWAS: Military Intervention In Niger Is War Between Brothers by RenaissanceGuy: 11:10am On Aug 22, 2023

Buhari formulary used on the south. Tinubu wants to invade Niger on a personal level because he has a point to prove.

How will Wike being the FCT minister uplift the life of a River state citizen
Stop turning logic on its head. It's not always about tribal leaning. It's like asking how an Igbo person becoming Nigerian president benefits an average Igbo person.
Politics › Re: It's No Longer Call Abuja Their Capital. It Is Now Our Capital Thanks To PBAT by RenaissanceGuy:
Tinubu did a revolutionary job in that aspect. If northerners have headed petroleum ministry, NNPC and countless other oil-related FG agencies, why should the position of FCT Minster be their exclusive preserve??

Plus more wealth and development.
Just like India.
India is not a wealthy country, please. There's NO single country that ever became wealthy or developed due to its population size. It has always been due to the ingenuity of its government in harnessing wealth through private sector — through manufacturing, innovation and research. When we're talking about wealthy, rich or prosperous countries, we should be talking about the citizens living in prosperity, not the govt having billions of dollars in reserves or the country being rich in crude oil, gold, silver, diamond, etc, whilst the citizens live in squalor.
Politics › Re: Dear President Biden, Tchiani Is A Lesser Evil Than Tinubu, By SKC Ogbonnia by RenaissanceGuy: 9:38am On Aug 21, 2023
Keep on glorifying "white" people and then turn around to accuse them of superiority complex and racism. Let us know when a US journalist writes an African president concerning what's happening in North America.
Politics › Re: Niger Coup: Don't Send Our Troops To Killing Fields, FFK Tells Tinubu by RenaissanceGuy:
I may not be fully in support of the military operation, but why are some people making it look like this is the first time this kind of thing is happening?? Ecowas did the same in Sierra Leone way back in 1998 and it succeeded within days. During Buhari's tenure, they did the same when the then-president of Gambia lost election and he refused to vacate office. His soldiers refused to fight and ECOWAS forces didn't have to fight at the end; they just did mopping operation — in fact they are still there till date.

Yes, that was an error. It's CAS, not COAS. You mean ministers/deputy ministers of defence/police, NSA (nearly 90%) are former??

Somewhere else. Make him Yoruba crew vote am exclusively.
Tinubu is also northernizing our national security sector. The following are headed by northerners: SSS, NSA, minister of defense, minister of police, NIA, COAS, deputy minsters of defence and police, etc. Tinubu appears to be a weakling for even doing this.

This is a reconstruction of the 600 YEAR old palace of the Oba of Benin before it was destroyed in1897 by British troops.

It is based on Benin Ikun or courtyard architecture.

This picture is actually small, because the palace had 207 IKUNS (COURTYARDS), whereas we see just 30 or so Ikuns represented by the artist here.

To show you how massive it was.

Here we find a 16th century rendition of the City of Benin by Dutch visitor Olfert Dapper, showing large residences and public buildings.

Britain didn't steal anything from you. They used their God-given brain to build the prosperity you see today. Did Russia, Japan, China, South Korea, Denmark also steal from you that their citizens are living in prosperity??

Seriously, as terrible as Nigeria 🇳🇬 is, we can hold down those LGBTQ+ 🇺🇸 army. On God!!
This Ukraine special military operation conducted by Russia has exposed the toothless bulldog NATO is.
What a time to be alive. Look at how all NATO military hardwares are burning 🔥 in Ukraine? 20k dollars drone destroying 4 billion dollars Patriot missile defence system, the best 🇺🇸 air defence? 😆 🤣 😂 😹

No one takes usa serious anymore. That country is officially a 3rd world country with worst infrastructure. No high speed trains, police brutality, daily mass shootings, LGBTQ menace, terrible subway system, homelessness, health care system is shitty, dilapidated airports. Just compare JFK with any local 3rd world airport to understand what iam saying.
You were making very valid points, but delved into blatant lies and exaggerations by calling the US a third world country. You could have simply continued to counter his points without resorting to obvious exaggerations and blatant lies.
Foreign Affairs › Re: Oxford In 1810 Vs 2015: Spot The Difference. by RenaissanceGuy: 8:53pm On Aug 18, 2023
That person up there shouting about preservation of history is getting it all wrong. What's worth preserving about thatched and mud houses built in the 1800s?? If the street captured above had contained mud houses, the British would have pulled it down and erect a befitting structure in its place. Are you proud of some parts of Ibadan with rusted roofs as it's today - a state capital for that matter??

DUMMY, WHAT HAS PORT HARCOURT GOT TO DO WITH ANYTHING?

IS IT NOT PART OF THE SAME 220 MILLION NIGERIANS THAT HAVE TO SHARE THE OIL INCOME?

WHAT IS THE POPULATION OF QATAR?

ARE THEY EVEN UP TO 2 MILLION PEOPLE, WITH LARGER OIL RESERVES THAN NIGERIA?

STUPID DROPOUT.

DON’T USE YOUR FCKING HEAD.
The guy's comment was well in order. Must our population size be equal to Qatar before we can use them as examples?? Is China not 1.6 billion people?? If the Qatari leaders are mismanaging their petrodollars, they would have also been as poor like Niger that's rich in uranium, but don't know to build wealth from it.
Why couldn't Nigeria use the revenue from crude oil to create prosperity through other areas such as auto manufacturing, ship building, electronics production, etc - all through the private sector, like it happened in developed countries??
Napata77:

Wow, and I was thinking I was reasoning with a sane human being. So no matter how cool somebody comments on a post on this Nairaland, some people have already made up their mind to reply with insults and name-calling?? May God heal you.

The $800B borrowed can build modular (small and sustainable) refinaries in each of the six zones. The old refinaries should be dashed out or sold to investors on credit because they are a liability to our national purse. They gulp billions every months with zero production.
