So, the view is that all "fools" are atheists, which doesn't mean that all atheists are "fools". I hope you find the distinction to be significant. Check this out. https://www.nairaland.com/restructurenig3Xrated profile picture troll. |

It’s not a huge amount for a verification exercise. in ignorance or carelessness, you reinforced my point. That amount is too small to achieve any real verification that involves interacting with the so called beneficiaries. |
Politics › Re: Shell To Sell Nigeria Onshore Oil Business For $1.3 Billion by RepoMan007: 11:20am On Jan 16, 2024 |
Kenochi: Let me take sometime to educate Nigerians before some people will come here and start claiming that the Economy is failing Most operators in Nigeria's Upstream Oil and Gas Sector know that their game is up,there was a time Nigeria through the NNPCL had to resort to the importation of Refined Crude oil for close to 20 years. This allowed NNPCL and most Oil and Gas companies to participate in the controversy Oil Swap Most Oil and Gas Companies used this fraudulent practice to shortchange the country, they collected crude oil and brought back Refined crude oil and still collected subsidy. Nigeria was fair game and all this big Oil companies looted Nigeria dry Then something happened, the Dangote Refinery was mooted and this would put an end to this evil practice. Most Oil Companies knee that if this Refinery ever started their easy money was over My people, this is what is happening. I am confident that more Oil companies will leave the country because their access to free money is gone for good
Still selling good properties with good titles at the Ibeju Lekki Industrial Hub....kindly check my signature demonic nonsense. Ifghe officials of Nigerian govt knew the country wasn getting fair deals, why approve them. You made it sound as if the multinationals held our govt officials at gunpoint whereas it was the reverse at bureaucratic gunpoint. |

The burden of debt. Future oil has already been used to take loans that are being wasted as we speak. Even Ghana too used their precious cocoa to take loans.
We have graduated from selling raw material as they become available to selling them in advance, then spending wastefully and lavishly. |

Buhari once travelled to Oyo to complain about perceived harassment of Fulani by Yoruba people. What is stopping him from intervening in Katsina, his own state? These people think they are so smart. |
Politics › Re: Dangote Started With Jetfuel And Diesel Because The Price Is Above 1k by RepoMan007: 4:32pm On Jan 15, 2024 |
nairalanda1: Part 2 of my comment is here , because this needs emphasis
About 60 LICENCES for refineries were given out. Most of them have not been taken up because the subsidy government over the years has kept on petrol, means that anyone willing to set up a refinery would have difficulty getting loans from banks, because banks see subsidy on petrol as a risk for them
Dangote got loans partly because GEJ government helped him make his case to AfDB, and also partly because if he does not pay back, the banks who gave him loans will just simply take over his lucrative businesses and pay them back. Or AMCON will just simply take over the businesses he has, pay the banks back and sell them off. Even then for the thing to make money, subsidy on petrol has to go...so that petrol would be sold at aprofit, and so that at the end of the day, banks would be willing to lend to anyone interested in competing with Dangote.
BUA is building a refinery, but he is smartly planning not to refine anything petrol. So, profits are guaranteed, and banks would lend to him.
When government over the decades, PDP, APC, millitary say that subsidy should go, it is because petrol being sold at a profit means it is far more attractive to refine at home than to import. The problem with refining is that there is an inbuilt loss from waste product from the refining process. To minimize loss, all the products from the refinery must be sold profitably.....which is what subsidy prevents from happening.
But people like you said no whenever government calls for subsidy removal. You argument always. Only NNPCL import of petrol is stopping petrol from being attractive to refiners and marketers. |
