ify2016: House please, last year I opened a Sterling Recurrent Deposit Account with a Monthly deposit of 20k per annum. At the end of maturity, I was able to get a shocking 243k after a whole one year. Now I want to start another monthly savings that will mature per annum investing 20k. My question is that, what financial advice can you give me on how to get a better return per annum saving 20k monthly? Your advice is very Paramount to me. Am starting either this Friday or next week Tuesday. Thanks a lot You mean you gained just 3k after a whole year? Well maybe you should go for MMF since you will be making deposits monthly |

It's unfortunate you are teaching in a school that count days of work, some don't even pay August salary claiming it's holiday period. Well I dnt see anything wrong starting small. I started like that about 7years ago earning 15k, (I just needed to have money to apply for jobs wherever, whenever) but with home lessons I earned more. The experience took me to a better school in all ramifications that pays complete salary all year round but it didn't stop me from applying to better organizations. Though I must admit I worked at schs where I enjoyed freedom of movement, most schs are prisons, ones u r in, u can't leave till close of day. I'm in a better place now, the experiences helped though, it's just a matter of time, na turn by turn, it can only get better. Just make sure you don't lose focus |

ebonyggurl: So in your mind, all women are gold diggers and manipulators? Why generalising stuff like that? Some of us are real.
From all these threads you post, some questions come to mind: what's a guy's usefulness in a relationship if all he brings to the table is his dick? Why should a woman want to move from girlfriend to wife when she sees you serve no usefulness apart from bedmantics? Come to think of it, does this apply the other way round? that is what's a girl's usefulness in a relationship if all she brings to the table is her p***y? |

needful: Oga. 1m unit of zenith bank stock will be close to N19m, assuming u receive a dividend of 2..250m for 17yrs. U will be making close to 35m. Now, what is the assurance that ur zenith bank stock wont fall to 5naira in 17yrs time with the way they manipulate stock market. What is ur assurance that zenith bank wont be bought over by another bank in the next 17yrs to come, what is ur assurance that zenith bank stock will increase in order to give u capital appreciation. As far as am concerned, stock is never a good way of capital appreciation. Remember u will pay tax on ur dividend, pay brokers fees every yr also. Etc I really wonder why he thinks the rate will remain that way for yrs to come. It could go higher and of course it could drop or even crash, stock market is not where you leave your money and sleep. You have to monitor it maybe on a daily or weekly basis so u know when to opt out or not to. You could lose a great percentage you invested likewise gain much. It's not an investment you make for a long number of years without monitoring unlike tbills or bonds |

kryptem: Thanks for this. Now, if on a particular day the interest increases, say to 12.9%, that means for that day, my gain will be 12.9/365 = 0.0358% X my investment, right? Then, if I want my interest reinvested, will the total be compounded? Again, if on the other hand I want ONLY my interest paid (leaving the capital), how and when will this be possible? Please, I just want to be fully cleared about this. Thanks! If u choose your interest to be reinvested, that happens quarterly and then it will be compounded |
