Hopefully he will become more tolerant of others, and more respectful of women, when that happens. However there is always the chance that he may simply become bitter and disillusioned, which is not a good thing.
@dakmanzero

What do you mean when you say "there is always the chance that he may simply become bitter and disillusioned'

Do you mean that you think he is not like that already? grin grin grin

I suppose we should not be hard on him really. We should give him a chance to join the human race! cheesy

Christianity EtcRe: Is Bible The Word of God? by Reverend(m): 10:14pm On Nov 20, 2006
Revealed religions are all based on belief in fantastic claims made by questionable people. Someone who claims God communicated something directly to them and they're passing this divine information onto the rest of us. Of course by believing these people we're not putting our belief in God, but instead we're putting our belief in the person making the claim.

The vehicle the revealed religions use to bring the message from person to person and generation to generation is usually a "holy" book. And of course each revealed religion claims their "holy" book the only true "holy" book and that the "holy" books of the others are imposters. Thus, the Christians claim the Bible as the only "holy" book, the Jews claim their various "holy" books to be the only true "holy" books, and the Moslems hold their Koran out as the final true "holy" book from God.

I reject all three revealed religions along with their "holy" books because they all go against our God-given reason.

Even though the Bible is full of contradictions, it pales in significance against the Koran, the Harry Potter of the religious World!

The key "holy" book of Islam is the Koran or Qur'an. It was allegedly given to Muhammad, the founder of Islam, during the 7th century of the common era by an angel. As usual, there's no evidence for this claim. As in all outrageous claims of all the revealed religions we are required to suppress our God-given reason in order to accept them.

The only thing the Koran has on the Bible is that it's written in a language that is still in use today. Unlike the teachings of Jesus, who used a language that is dead, the Koran is in Arabic. This makes it much easier to get a correct translation, but the things it contains are just as erratic and unreasonable as the contents of the Bible. This also makes it easier for critics to point out the impossibility of the Koran being the word of God. They can't use the defense that Christians and Jews do so easily when they attempt to defend the Bible, that a key word means something entirely different than what is obvious.

The Truth is out there!

The need to live our lives in accordance with reason is, I believe, in the heart of every person.

It doesn't matter what religion, if any, they are currently involved in. Reason is freely available to all. It's our job to bring it to the world in the realm of religion. Only then will this bring about an end to the violence and warfare the revealed religions have inflicted on humanity.

It will open a new era of progress and enlightenment never before thought possible. An age free of superstition and fear, yet full of adventure and discovery.

We should all do that is within your power to make this dream a reality.

96. Does every man sin?

* Yes. There is no man who does not sin (I Kings 8:46; see also 2 Chronicles 6:36; Proverbs 20:9; Ecclesiastes 7:20; and I John 1:810)

* No. True Christians cannot possibly sin, because they are the children of God. Every one who believes that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God, (I John 5:1). We should be called children of God; and so we are (I John 3: 1). He who loves is born of God (I John 4:7). No one born of God commits sin; for Gods nature abides in him, and he cannot sin because he is born of God (I John 3:9). But, then again, Yes! If we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us (I John 1:Cool

The contradictions exist if you choose to see them or not. If you choose to ignore them then I do not have a problem with it. But they do exist in a huge number!

SportsFrench Socialist Freche Does Not Want To See Blacks In French Football Team by Reverend(op): 3:37pm On Nov 18, 2006
Georges Freche, from the southern Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, was quoted by Midi Libre newspaper as saying he was ashamed that up to nine of 11 starters on the French team are black.

French President Jacques Chirac condemned Mr. Freche

"It would be normal if there were three or four, that would be a reflection of society," Freche was quoted as saying. "But if there are so many, it's because whites are no good. I'm ashamed for this country. Soon there will be 11 blacks."

Georges Frêche, , put his foot in his mouth on Tuesday evening with comments about the French football team. "9 of them are black. Soon all 11 will be black!" he screamed.

Georges Frêche, Socialist MP and President of the Languedoc-Rousillon region said "9 of them are black. Soon there will be 11 blacks in the team. White footballers really must be rubbish! When I see certain football teams, it hurts me!", on Tuesday evening at a Socialist congress. "

The Socialist MP continued: "Three or four would be normal, that would reflect society. I'm ashamed of this country".

Frêche's comments have already been condemned roundly by members of his own party. Claude Bartolone, the right-hand man of Laurent Fabius, pre-empted France Soir by shouting "Red Card for Frêche!" and went on to say "These are comments worthy of Jean-Marie Le Pen. Frêche is a repeat offender in provocation." EMP Harlem Désir called for the Socialist Party to sack Frêche, who already holds several offices, and to cast him from the party.

This is not the first time Frêche has been out of line. He is soon to appear in court over comments that the Harkis, the Algerians who fought alongside the French in the France-Algeria war, were "sub-human".

Far right ideas have been increasing in France, even among the left wing political groups. Apart from the racist attacks against the colored people, the anti-Muslim current has become strong in French politics.

Dr. Sedat Laciner, Turkish political scientist, argues that France and Europe face a real racist danger similar to the pre-Second World War. “Europe has decide on new or old European values. The old values were based on religious and nationalistic biases and fanaticism. If the European Union cannot base its values on universal new values, the EU would be another disaster as witnessed during the First and Second World War. Right now all of the EU countries are Christian. The Brussels cannot accept any nation from other religions. More than 100 million European Muslims for instance are not fully represented in European institutions.” Dr. Laciner added.

Christianity Etc101 Clear Contradictions In The Bible by Reverend(op): 1:19pm On Nov 18, 2006
I believe the Bible to be the work of man that has been corrupted many hundreds of times over the years to fit in with the ideology of the times. Many of you choose to read and take all the Bibles writings as being true and accurate without question. I am more open minded and willing to question the facts.

She still thinks that Jesus body is laid to rest somewhere and she demands to know where. But when Jesus said her name she at once recognized him and called him Teacher. Jesus said to her, Do not hold me, (John 20:11 to 17)

88. What was Jesus instruction for his disciples?

* Tell my brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see me (Matthew 2 8: 10)

89. When did the disciples return to Galilee?

* Immediately, because when they saw Jesus in Galilee some doubted (Matthew 28:17). This period of uncertainty should not persist
* After at least 40 days. That evening the disciples were still in Jerusalem (Luke 24:3 3). Jesus appeared to them there and told them, stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high (Luke 24:49). Yes. And the Lord repented that he had made Saul King over Israel (I Samuel 15:35). Notice that the above three quotes are all from the same chapter of the same book! In addition, the Bible shows that God repented on several other occasions:

i. The Lord was sorry that he made man (Genesis 6:6)

I am sorry that I have made them (Genesis 6:7)

ii. And the Lord repented of the evil which he thought to do to his people (Exodus 32:14).

iii. (Lots of other such references).

* David (I Samuel 17:23, 50)
* Elhanan (2 Samuel 21:19)

* They worshipped him, saying, Truly you are the Son of God (Matthew 14:33)

We have an Online church at [color=#550000]www.christonline.info, and the latest sermon says there is a difference between being a friend of Jesus and being a follower of Jesus. Many christians are followers of God, but few are friends of God. You have to walk with God like Moses, Enoch and Abraham did before you can be his friend.
