...I will pay the bills and probably send an Uber driver to bring her home.

She will try to explain herself to me, but before she will finish her sentence, I will cuddle her and tell her I understand. No problem.

I won't take any decision at impulse. Mind you, I can't penalise her because she went out with another guy.

You noticed that elipsis I used at the beginning of my statement, a lot happened there. If I tell you, you fit bomb me.
Career / Re: Academic Advice; as an HND graduate what next? PGD or BSC by Rexmy(m): 1:22pm On May 30, 2022
Pearl1212:
I'm confused.
I'm 23years of age, I have HND in statistics (Distinction), done with NYSC program, I want to further my studies but I'm really confused what to do,

1. I don't know whether to opt in for PGD or BSC(Through Direct Entry).

2. I don't know if I should switch course, from statistics to accounting via Direct Entry and I don't know if HND statistics will be accepted into accounting.
Please I seriously need your opinion and advise on it.
With your distinction grade, you can secure admission (with full funding) into an MSc or even a PhD program in the USA. Please do not limit your chances because you have an HND.

Family / Re: My Marriage Is On The Verge Of Crashing. by Rexmy(m): 3:49pm On Jan 21, 2022
Was the marriage a forced/arranged one?
I wonder if your wife or her parents were fully interested in this marriage beforehand. I would have expected a good parent (especially her dad) to see how to sort things out between you two, regardless of the situation. After all, you should be their son by law.

At this point, you need to man up and take control of the situation. You acted in an unwise manner by hitting her and raping her all along. However, no one is beyond redemption. It's good that you've claimed the blame, which she was a part to, and you have equally seeked for forgiveness. If she has refused to yield to your pleas, then give her the needed space to realize your worth or if she's willing to continue with the marriage. While you do this, try building your emotions such that you can live well without much of her presence/attention because only miracle can make her come back fully into your life, if at all she eventually did.

Life continues, don't kill yourself over an action that cannot be reclaimed but rather learn how to avert such mistakes in the future.

Congratulations! I am really happy for you... All glory to God for the good news.
bunmisoar:
I give thanks to God for the success of my Interview
My visa was approved on Tues, 7th Sept, 2021 for FALL SESSION. Yes, FALL SESSION.

I learnt a lot from this platform regarding my preparation and my conscience will not let me rest till I post my success story for others to learn from too. I thank everyone here, God bless you for the helpful tips, and by the Grace of The Almighty God, every other person here will testify too. Be relentless, pursue it like your life depends on it, above all, Gods Grace is supreme over all we do.

SO my school, Morgan State University resumed since the 23rd of Aug, with faith, I registered for classes (I didn't make payment though because the school gives so time before payment) and resumed classes online. I made my department aware of my delayed interview and pleaded with them to write an extension letter for me to take along to my interview. My department did, and sent me the letter.

Here's how my interview went: (a black male in his early 40s interviewed me)

FALL 2021
NO FUNDING

VO: Hello good morning
Me: (with a smile) Hello, good morning sir, how are you doing today (be as friendly as possible in your greeting, it will help in reducing the anxiety in you)

VO: Pass your documents
Me: (I gave him passport first, then passed my I-20, extension letter, and DS-160)

VO: (as he was collecting the documents) SO why are you going to the US?
Me: I am going there to study. I will be studying my Masters in Public Health at Morgan State University, which is located at Baltimore, Maryland.

VO: I can see from your I-20 that school has resumed
Me: Yes, we resumed two weeks ago, 23rd of Aug. However, i have an extension letter from the school which i have passed to you. I have also begun classes online and I have been actively involved in all class activities. I have also been in frequent communication with the course instructors and they are all aware of my travel delay, i can also show you our conversations (i already printed the email communication between me and my lecturers incase he sked, but he didn't )

VO: So why MSU?
Me: I had the option of 3 schools, New York University, North Carolina University, and Morgan State University. However, my decision to settle with MSU was based on their syllabus. I compared the syllabus of the 3 schools ad I discovered that for NYU and NCU, the ir syllabus is constructed in such a way that at the beginning of the program, the students go right into their areas of specialization, but for MSU, their approach is more holistic and comprehensive. At the beginning of the program, the students do all courses in the 5 core areas on public health, and at second semester, they specialize. I wanted something as comprehensive as that

VO: What will this course do for you?
Me: In the short run, on my return to Nigeria, I will be reabsorbed into my current place of work. I currently work as an assistant health administrator at XYZ hospital, and the management is aware of my plans. They have also agreed to grant me a 2 years study leave. However, in the long run, i have passionately followed the work of several NGOs her in Nigeria. They are doing a great work in the Health Sector her and I have always wanted to be a part of them. The likes of UN, WHO, APIN, E-Health Africa, and many others. I believe that on my return, the certificate and knowledge i would have acquired will give me a leverage and make me more marketable.

VO: I can see you did Geography, so why Public Health
Me: Yes, but my specialization was in Medical Geography

VO: So is Medical Geography same as Public Health?
Me: Yes, it is all about Public Health nd Epidemiology
(at this point, he typed, and I guess to confirm what Medical Geography is on google. He then looked at me and said okay good)
(P.S: if your first degree is not related to what you are going to study now, or the work you are currently doing, look for a way to link it all together. VERY IMPORTANT. I thank God I already prepared for this question)

VO: I can see its a relative that is sponsoring you
Me: Yes, my Uncle

VO: Who is he and what does he do?
Me: He's an established engineer her in Lagos and has his own construction company with over 100 staffs. He is also a Federal Senator (My uncle is a politician, so i made sure i included that)

VO: What is the name of the company? Spell it
ME: A B C D E ( then he kept typing. This man googled the company in my presence then asked me questions)

VO: (looking at the system) where is this company?
Me: it is at XYZ here in Lagos

VO: Good. Anything to show that you and this man are related?
Me: Yes, I have a family photo here with me (though he didn't ask for it)
(Guys, please go prepared!!!)

VO: Why will he be paying this much for your fees?
Me: He has been sponsoring my education since my secondary school and he's just like a father to me.

VO: (began to type oooooooooooooooooo, then he brought out white paper)
VO: I will not be giving your visa now because the extension given by your school is not on your I-20 so...

Me: (i no allow am land o) But i told you i have given you and extension letter from the school and I also registered and resumed classes online and ...

VO: (Him sef no allow me land) Calm down sir, I didn't say I am not approving your visa, see your white paper, I have approved it. However just do one thing. Email your school today, tell them to indicate the extension given to you on your I-20. I will also give you back your passport and this white paper. Once the school has updated it, take the updated I-20 and your passport to our DHL office at XYZ You don't have to come for another interview. Your visa has been approved!!!

Me: (with all manner of Joy and smile): Thank you sir!!!

(So if your department is giving you an extension letter for resumption, contact the International Affairs department of your school, send them the letter your department gave you, and tell them to reflect that extension in the remarks section of the I-20)

Shalom!!! Wish you all THE best!!!

I want to get married now!
Family / Re: Have You Ever Regretted Being Married To Your Partner? by Rexmy(m): 4:25pm On Dec 06, 2020
emkz:
I regretted mine, not necessarily for what she did but for my inability to follow my instincts about her which could have prevented the calamity. We were not married but things had been done towards that like introduction and trad before kasala burst. I was happy kasala burst before we went farther.

For anyone who wants to get married, by all means do so...but marry for the right reasons. You first need to understand yourself and your own limitations. If your aim is to have children, perhaps a contractual arrangement suffices. Unfortunately, many marriages today are not different from service contracts: I will provide shelter, food and security while you provide pussy when I want it and how I want it, and you must not provide it to someone else. Or I am marrying you because society expects and would respect me to be married as it shows I am responsible.

The Dutch Prime Minister is single.

Or I'd marry you only because I love you. These are wrong reasons to be married. For a potential spouse, look at compatibility, companionship, communication, character and charisma. Exude these qualities yourself and you shall find it in your potential partner. Love will fade, the butterflies in your stomach shall die, your partner shall irritate you, what then would hold your marriage?

The stories of wayward men and women are told everyday on this forum. Don't let them deter you. There are very good men and women from very good homes who are responsible to be wifed or husbanded. I know this because all my sisters have been married for years and no one has come to report that they have issues with them.

Don't go looking for a wife. Develop yourself and have the values of someone husbandable, creation will link you to your spouse.

In closing, my question to you is:

Why exactly do you want to get married? Are you truly convinced of the answer you give yourself?
You spoke sense...

Satellite TV Technology / Re: GOTV Channels Scrambled by Rexmy(m): 8:51am On Oct 05, 2020
Omihanifa:
I also went through similar thing, but what I did was to chill till midnight (3am) then I did a factory reset and all my channels came back
Hhmmmm... 3am! What was your signal strength at that time?
Satellite TV Technology / GOTV Channels Scrambled by Rexmy(m): 8:36am On Oct 05, 2020
Since Friday, 2nd October, 2020 my GOTV decoder has refused to scan all channels on GOTV Max. It started with E48-32 error code on the major channels that come with Max. I was told to reset it. Subsequently, only 22 out of 57 channels was scanned with all other channels missing. I can't imagine subscribing with N3,600 and all I can watch is AfricanMagic Yoruba and some irrelevant channels. For instance, Mmovies, AM family, TNT, MTV base, all sport channels are missing.

The funniest thing is that GOTV has refused to come out straight to inform her customers what the situation is. They rather kept asking people to reset, reboot, change antenna location and all. I wonder how difficult it is to accept fault. At some point I did factory reset on the decoder and it refused to scan a single channel for a whole day.

However, most people seem to care less about the problem and this made me wonder why check and balance has no place in this country. How can you increase your service charge and the best you could do is to render poor services?

Or could it be that the situation is only with just few selected people.

Kindly state your current experience with GOTV...

Hhmmmm... I feel your pain bro!

I was once in your shoes and the best thing you had do and won't regret is to find your way out of this country for your PhD. It's obvious you have a good grade. Do necessary proficiency exam, don't look at the cost but the benefits.

It takes only God's favour to see someone that's not your immediate family push your application to the top. There is always a sacrifice to render and only very few people can do that for one who is not a relation. I have experienced this and I will never forget my God sent supervisor for her role in my life.
