Hope Muslims that subscribed to his newly found faith in both Christianity and Islam can be baptized according to the laid down process given by Christ. They must be baptized with water and Holy Spirit. They must also confess the unity and Trinity of God, and declare Jesus as the Lord and Saviour.

Life-Changing Encounter With God

God is seeking for people He can use for His work. He is seeking for those who are ready to receive Him and follow His direction. Those who want to have a life-changing encounter with God must be ready for genuine repentance and get prepared for His service, and they must respond to His call with obedience . Isaiah 6:8, Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Who shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said, Here am I! Send me. These we have for discussion: A Vision of God, Cleansed for service, and Commissioned to Prophesy

A vision of God: Prophet Isaiah had been doing the work of God but much wasn't known about him until the circumstance which limited his recognition was removed after the death of King Uzziah. This King's reign was accounted for as the time of prosperity and well-being. He thought the achievement was by his effort that he lifted up his heart against the ordinances of God. In the process God smote him and he was removed as the king (2 Chronicles 26:1-14).

After Uzziah's death Isaiah was given a vision in which God was revealed in Glory and holiness with heavenly beings (the Seraphims) crying out and saying Holy, Holy, Holy. Their voice was giving reference to the exalted One, the sovereign and Almighty God (Isaiah 6:1-4). From the New Testament Christ is the One God has exalted and given a name above other names. John 12: 37-47 reveals Christ as the One Isaiah had seen. God is absolutely sovereign and His power has no limitations (Isaiah 46:10; Daniel 4:35).

Isaiah saw the beautiful picture of God with the heavenly beings revealing His majesty and splendour by their display around the throne. The heavenly beings also revealed God's nature in their threefold declarations: His holiness, His perfection and probably reference to the Trinity - The Father, Son and Holy Spirit. With their declarations the heavenly sanctuary was filled with God's presence and there was powerful manifestation of His glory. We must reference God and have it mind that one day we shall give an account of our lives to Him (Romans 14:12; Hebrews 13:4).

Cleansed for Service: Isaiah didn't let the vision go without response. He realised immediately that he was nothing to reckon with unless God showed mercy and save him. He cried, 'woe is me! This was when he realised his broken and spiritual bankruptcy before God. He discovered how sinful and devastated a life spent without God was and saw the need for a renewed spiritual condition (Isaiah 6:5-7). In the light of God's holiness Isaiah's sin was fully exposed and he was aware of his unworthiness. But God, being merciful responded to confession of his sin and renewed him. God is faithful and will respond to genuine repentance of a sinner (1 John 1:9).

Isaiah was called to prophetic ministry after he had been cleansed from sin (Isaiah 6:8 ). Before a believer can proceed with his calling to the ministry he must have been cleansed from sin. He must also show the willingness to do the work, and respond as Isaiah did, that is, 'Here am I send me'. All Christians are called to minister in one way or the other to those who have not been reached. God is seeking for people He will send to deliver His message and make His way known.

Commissioned to Prophecy: At first Isaiah was worried about the difficulty he would face with the people. Many had hardened their hearts and wouldn't respond to God's call for repentance (Isaiah 6:9-10). Those who continue to harden their hearts before God are in danger of His judgement. Pharaoh faced the consequences when he hardened his heart to God's judgment. Our hearts to God's message (gospel) should be like a fertile soil that can make spiritual truth grow and flourish (Matthew 13:1-23). Understanding the Bible and applying the word of God is a matter of the heart, and not the head. We must memorise the word, take it to the heart and allow it transform our lives.

We are likely to be disappointed as we reach out and preach the word because we will meet people who have hardened their hearts and opposed to the message of repentance. While the situation like this is inevitable, those doing God's work should not be discouraged. The 'holy seed' they are planting will remain. God doesn't have pleasure in punishment of sinners, rather he wants them to experience a life-changing encounter with Him. To God be the glory. Lesson texts: Isaiah 6:1-3.
Christianity EtcRe: Sunday School Lessons: What Do You Gain To Share With Others? by Rexyl(op):
The Mighty Tongue
Tongue can be used to shape one's life, build up others and to destroy some people . God gives us the grace to use tongues to express our thoughts and desires, as He does this for us we are expected to use words wisely and thoughtfully. Words have power and can bring about blessing or curse. Tongue is recognised as a powerful force for either good or evil. Our tongues should be used to proclaim God's kingdom, encourage and bless others. Proverbs 15:4 - A wholesome tongue is a tree of life but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit. We have the followings for discussion: Use Word properly; Avoid Destructive Word, and Choose life giving Words.

Use Word Properly: We must use words properly as they can have negative and lasting effects on lives of people (Proverbs 18:21; 20:25). Words have power and can bring great benefits if they are used wisely. We should be mindful that what we say has consequences. What we say can make a way for us and others and can set as a trap as well. Those who gossip often talk carelessly and become trapped. Christians must not make promises they can not keep. Promises that are not kept are a trap.

We should have considered our resources and amount we can afford to give out before promising others. At times we can pledge more than we are able and give sacrificially. Such giving can be based on trusting God to bless us more than our expectations. We can challenge God and vow to honour Him with our substance when our prayer is answered. We shouldn't withhold the giving when such need is met no matter the amount vowed. Likewise we should not vow to give out of pity or compassion if we know we cannot keep our words. Empty promises can complicate issues and make life difficult for people.

As we don't know what the future holds we should consider matters of other time or day with some restraints (Proverbs 27:1-2; 5,21). Life is uncertain and the future is unknown therefore we should look to God to guide and help us do the correct thing. We just have to pray and hope for the best from God as He wills (James 4:13-17). It is not good enough for someone to boast of his achievements and praise himself. He should leave that for someone else to find out and assess. If the achievement is worth commendation others should value it and appreciate our contributions.

Avoid Destructive Words: Do not choose words that can stir confusion and lead to trouble. Loose lips bring trouble therefore Christians must avoid words and actions that cause trouble and erode reputation. It is bad to meddle with matter that doesn't concern you. Gossip can be appealing, but it hurts the feelings and causes great harm (Proverbs : 26:17-23). It can spark aggressive reaction and result in broken relationships.

We must not be fooled by charming words, nor should we fool others. Such flattering words mask all manners of malice and deceit (Proverbs 26: 24-28). Words of deception will definitely strain relationship and cause deep wounds and hatred. Such malice is unacceptable to God and leads to eternal consequences.

Choose Life-Giving Words: Tongue should be trained and the mouth cautioned to pronounce positive thing into one's life and the lives of others. There should be a difference between utterances of the righteous and the wicked. The righteous must be quick to hear and slow to respond to angry words. They must respond with understanding heart and not repay evil with evil.

In contrast to negative influence of the word of the foolish, Our words should promote goodness and exhibit God-given wisdom (Proverbs 15:1-2, 4,7,23 &28). Our words shouldn't hurt soul, rather they should encourage, comfort, guide and direct others rightly.

When people live by the word of God and make use of godly wisdom they will find it easier to say positive words. We should say words that can minister to fellow believers and draw unbelievers to Christ. As Christians we must live out our faith in Christ and ensure that our lifestyle matches our words. Foolish words should not proceed from our mouths (Proverbs 16:23-24). To God be the glory. Lesson texts: Proverbs 15:1-2,4,7,23,28; 16:23-24; 18:21; 20:25; 26:17-26, 28: 27:1-2,5,21.

It seems like these beasts devouring human beings are becoming more ferocious and waxing stronger than you could contain. Everyone had expected final end of boko haram within few days of change of government. Jonathan had given them the deadly blow and almost got rid of them, but now again we are still repeating same story. Leadership shouldn't be by mouth or passion, it should be purely by competence, purpose and action for the expected change and transformation.

Financial Wisdom
It's God's will that His people are wise in all aspects of life. Foolish decision and act make it difficulty to enjoy God's gracious provisions. We are so lucky for knowing God and following His way, our hope is beyond this world. This lesson wants us to follow financial advice from Proverbs and manage our money wisely. The way we handle money should reflect our trust in God and provide for eternal purpose. Money shouldn't be for self-satisfaction and enjoyment, it must be used to advance God's kingdom. Luke 16:11 - therefore if ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? We have these for discussion: Adopt a Biblical Work Ethic; On Lending and Borrowing, and Build a good Reputation.

Adopt a Biblical Work Ethics: There is no hope for success in laziness. Laziness leads to destruction as the behaviour has to do with procrastination, failure to plan for the future, willingness to be idle and lack of interest in taking responsibility (proverbs 6:6-11). Laziness is conceived in the heart and if it overtakes one's life denies a person sense of effective planning and responsibility. In order to succeed we must plan ahead and work toward getting the best result. The foolish and indolent will find an excuse to sleep than work and provide for the future. Laziness has nothing to offer than financial stress and hopelessness.

People of God must find good work to do. Work brings rewards and removes poverty. Though it's often hard to do, it is necessary for joyful and heathy living, and the reward can not be underestimated. Christians should not be engaged with get rich quick scheme because it ends up in loosing hard-earned money. ( Proverbs 26:13-16; 28:19 &22). The scheme is meant to swindle and exploit unsuspecting victim. Biblical work ethics are rooted in honest dealings and fair profits.

On Lending and Borrowing: The issue of lending and borrowing is so complex that it will only take God's grace to satisfy biblical recommendations. It's both good and risky to borrow for living. It's not good to live by debt, and it is very bad to exploit others when they borrow money. Debt can bring serious financial disaster and strained relationship (Proverbs 6:1-5). It even robs the grace of quality service for God, and can limit the ability to participate effectively in the ministry.

We shouldn't indulge in practices that can lead to poverty. Likewise it is unwise to accept responsibility for someone else's debt. Do not guarantee debt you are not sure can be repaid by the borrower. If possible Christians that have the potential to lend others must do it free of interest, and the person being helped should not make financial commitment that cannot be kept. Money borrowed should be paid back according to the repayment plan.

There are various reasons why people go for debt, but whatever the reason such debt must be reasonable and manageable. Debt should not be secured for a lifestyle beyond one's means. If such is done financial success may not be achieved. Unhealthy desires for wealth lead to sufferings and slavery. Borrower becomes a slave to the lender (Proverbs 22:7). Instead of borrowing and living as a slave Christians must be content with the available resources and ensure they extol virtues of godly perspectives (Proverbs 15:16-17; 1 Timothy 6:6).

Build a Good Reputation: It very important to value and keep a good name (Proverbs 22:1-2, 2&9). Our relationship with others is very important, we must be trustworthy and ready to help others with our resources. Wealth often makes people arrogant and compel them to exploit the poor. But godly wisdom motivates people to help others with their resources. Those who are generous and have good reputation will receive the blessing of God.

We are called to value kindness and generosity and ensure we are distinguished as people of God. We must reflect eternal priorities and lead others to Christ with our money. Manifestation of godly characters attracts God's blessing. Therefore we must be kind, generous and fair in our business practices, and our good reputation should make others learn about God and experience His true love (Proverbs:11:16,24-26). Generosity is not all about kind word and good intension, it must involve action. And again, Christian generosity brings hope beyond this world. To God be the glory. Lesson texts: Prov: 6:1-11; 11:16,24-26; 15:16-17; 22:1-2,7,9; 26:13-16; 28:19-22.
Christianity EtcRe: Sunday School Lessons: What Do You Gain To Share With Others? by Rexyl(op):
Plead for a pure lifestyle
At the present age of civilization that people want to live for pleasure, believers are enjoined to keep the faith and guard their relationships with others. Those living for worldly pleasure will not like to follow the way of God or pursue His righteousness. Rather they will choose to mislead others and push biblical and moral values to the margin. Proverbs 1:33 - But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. We have the followings for discussion: Reject the World's Call; Heed Wisdom's Call; Abstain from Immoral Pleasures.

The book of proverbs was written more than three thousand years ago, yet it is still relevant for all societies; it discusses moral issues in such a way to have positive impacts in the lives of people. It matches godliness and moral behaviours and teaches people how to apply wisdom in all they do. Many societies today are doing things their own way, viewing concept of purity as antiquated and not applicable to the enlightened world. God's standard for right and wrong is far different from what worldly societies hold. God's message is the only foundation for life of purity and righteousness (Proverbs 1:10-14). Desire to live ungodly life leads to involvement in desperate acts which eventually results in tragic end. Christians should reject enticement of the world and not allow its pleasure to make them loose eternal focus.

Reject World's Call: We should heed the Bible warning to not join and agree with criminals. Their deeds are evil; they can plan at any time to terminate life and destroy property, and in their violence they set themselves up for tragedy (Proverbs 1:15-19). The way of sinner should be avoided because it will not end well. Christians should choose and follow the way of God which leads to divine blessings. The enticing path leads to destructive end.

Heed wisdom's Call: True wisdom is of God. It contrasts with human understanding and definition of wisdom. Divine wisdom goes beyond knowledge and common sense. It involves having God's spirit for discerning, inspiration and understanding. One can be wiser with little education than a well trained person (Proverbs: 1:20-22). Divine wisdom warns three categories of people: the simple, the scorner and the fools. The simple believe they can live the way they like without negative consequences; the scorners disregard God while the fools reject His existence, or believe if He exists, has no interest in affairs of human beings.

It is through divine wisdom believers can adhere to priorities of God and reject the world value. God wants those who believe in Him to live by His wisdom. Hearts that receive His wisdfom will understand His work and know the truth about Him. Those who reject wisdom and the call to pure life will pay the awful price in the end (Proverbs 1:23-33). Living without God and rejecting His way of peace will definitely lead to ruin. It is when we follow His way and obey Him that we can be assured of true security and peace of mind.

Abstain from Immoral Pleasures: Pure lifestyle can only be lived when we follow the requirements for godly living and act accordingly. We should learn and practice the word of God. His law and commandments should be written upon the table of our hearts (Deuteronomy 6:8 ). As we do this divine wisdom will come and manifest as a gift. It is by God's wisdom believers are protected from falling into temptation of immoral behaviour (Proverbs 7:1-5). Solomon increased in wisdom as he drew closer to God and put aside sensual pleasures. Sexual temptation can be so powerful but if we obey God's word and apply the wisdom we can reject it and stay pure.

Temptation has real consequences. Actions that involve physical, relational and spiritual risks can lead to tragedy (Proverbs 7: 21-27). Through purity Christians can deal with and overcome sexual temptation. Resist the lust and don't be filled with the thought. The consequences include broken physical and spiritual relationships, emotional turmoil, diseases among others. Deep thoughts and desires are required to live a pure life and reject the enticement for sensual pleasures which aims to prevent blessings of God. Glory be to God. Lesson texts: Proverbs: 1:10-33; 7:1-5; 21-27.
