PoliticsRe: Osun Crisis, Beyond My Control – Aregbesola by Rexyl(m): 6:08am On Jun 13, 2015
When crisis is beyond the control of an administrator? What Ogbeni has been doing before that he seems incapable of piloting affairs of the State again? He shouldn't have stated this, being reelected governor. One will wonder if he has nessed up during his first tenure! Time for the people of the State to believe in themselves and with their hands and brains lift the State up from the sinking sand. AND AGAIN TIME FOR OGBENI TO FACE THE REALITY AND STOP FEEDING HIS PEOPLE WITH EMPTY PROMISES OR CAMPAIGN LIES. PROMISES ARE EASIER STATED THAN FULFILLED.

are they daft..how can they have resources and go hungry just like being in swimming pool and having soap entering your eyes

they are poor bro
Can I say things are happening now or about to happen which will make people reason on what they can do with what they have, instead of being indolent and endlessly waiting for campaign promises. OSUN PEOPLE HAVE THE FAULTS, LIKEWISE MOST NIGERIANS WHO CAN ONLY PROGRESS IN DECEPTION.

Going by resources Osun State shouldn't have been poor, but too much reliance on campaign promises seem to have landed the people to the present situation.

Hehe! Will be like a hunter who people praise for killing all kinds of animals, the day he goes through hell with nothing to show for it same people will grumble or keep quiet. It was like the governor has killed all kinds of animal by mouth , and now nothing is left to be killed by action.

No

Osun has resources thst when fully tapped other States will benefit, the only problem is where and how to start to harness the resources, and the competent hands to manage them. May God give the people wisdom to succeed with what they have. Aregbesola made people of the State believe before the elections that Buhari was all they needed for the expected development. He should have called on Buhari for immediate intervention.

Wonder why they blamed Jonathan for their inability to pay workers as if Jonathan didn't release States' allocations. Now that Jonathan has left the stage and their failures still continue, they must blame themselves.

The security situation of the northeast has not improved at all going by the lives being wasted secretly and openly every day. Likewise the exchange rate has not made significant difference.

It's like electricity situation has started to improve from day one in office. Anyway that couldn't have been recorded as a credit, probably those who held down power supply willingly changed their minds.

We trusted GEJ 1050% look at where it got us, we trusted his Government 150% and they are still in Government under APC and Buhari - will it automatically CHANGE their Character and Intentions after 16-years?

A simple analogy for you there.
If you were very thirsty and I offered you the following, which would you choose. bear in mind Urine=Corrupt Government, Water=Clean Government.. ultimately, you cannot rid Nigeria of Corruption completely but note that it is like a cancer, eventually it will consume the entire body.

1: A Glass full of Urine
2: Half a glass of Urine and Half a Glass of Water
3: 3 parts Water and 1 part Urine

Chose wisely - because that is what the average Nigerian does with little thought as to the consequences on the future.
May God help us to have a common front by which we can stand with one voice against bad governance. We can make it better if we can all form a formidable opposition against all forms of bad development in government.

People Create Institutions - Institutions Empower People to do the Right Thing - Are we doing the right thing or are we just so desperate for CHANGE we ignore any other thing that is not right and hope Buhari makes it to the finish line FIRST. we have successfully gotten rid of one Monumental Problem (GEJ) let us not make the mistake of leaving Governance to the personal wishes and intentions (no matter how honest) to people. When Governance Fails, it is not the Leaders that feel the burden of failure, it is the people.. Democracy is a Government of the People, by the People and For the People.
Won't you congratulate Bukola and Ekeremadu? Though our politicians are not 100% trustworthy we just need to have a level of trust in them. Jonathan has done what he could and the landmark can not be removed. whether the present administration want it or not they must sustain some of his policies and continue where he stopped.

Democracy is not about People and Political Parties but about Democratic Institutions that work. it is about Empowering the Constitution to Strengthen Governance Frameworks that Enforce The Rule of Law, thus Guiding Performance and Ensuring the Freedom & Rights of Nigerians. We have seen time and time again that it is People and Political Parties undermine Democratic Institutions (like they are doing right now) to further their selfish and greedy ambitions.

It is not Campaign Slogans and Promises and Manifestos - it is about being Accountable and Responsible under the Rule of Law. it is about Sacrifices and Actions not TALK.. Great Democracies are Built on the bolded not TALK, TALK, TALK and More EXCUSES
Hmmm. Democratic institution that works. People create institutions and make them work if they want. Now these people have created an institution which they believe can work just as you believe in yourself. Let's hope for the best from them the same way many believed in Buhari and gave him a shot.

agitation at various quarters boils down to interests and future benefits, those agitating are planning to get. apc has just started to block pdp from using the same strategy it used to penetrate and sack the party.
they should be careful and not allow selfish interests to fail them. people who elected them expect great change.

I agree. What the OP is calling political oblivion is just a 4 year tenur. It's hardly worth breaking sweat for.By this time in 4 years time, it could be a new president and a new political party being sworn in, would the current crop of APC politicians go into political oblivion too? I don't like anything about APC. This party would never have been formed if GEJ had been a Hausa or Yoruba man. APC will only work as a party as long as it has a Northerner as its president. The day it fields anybody other than a Northerner, the party will fall like a pack of cards.
The North has a political sophistication they have been using to play the Southern parts and drive the people the way they want. Truth must be told APC is just an extension of northern rule from PDP they caused to crash when it wasn't glaring that a northerner would emerge the president. What makes a difference when former PDP members are the greatest elected members of APC in the North? They were the most beneficiaries of PDP, and now in APC more and more dividends of democracy for them. The plan is working, it's other parts that will be falling and rising to catch up.

How you folks come up with all these warped political analysis beats the imagination! Who frustrated him out huh Its his over ambition that blinded him..

He wanted to be governor forgetting Ajimobi had first right of refusal, & thought pitching his tent with ladoja now will improve his 2019 chances since he couldn't get APC's nod.

He also overestimated his popularity..just like the ex ogun federal lawmakers did with Osoba; who thought he was too big to be under Tinubu & Amosun, conveniently forgetting OBJ's AD annihilation of AD's SW states in 2003 left only Tinubu's lagos standing.

What frustrated Lanlehin out of APC is the same as what did in Ikimi,Shekarau, etc ;not understanding that in life "there will always be firsts among equals... Some are natural born leaders & will always remain so.
you could also say over ambition blinded Ayo Adeseun? Have you ever heard directly from the two (Lanlehin and Adeseun) before about what caused them to leave the party they invested their time and resources to form? Have you ever heard of unfair treatments from them? These were the two hardworking senators who invested so much on basic infrastructures for their senatorial districts. I can say the State couldn't have lost the connection, relevance, influence and contributions of these prominent senators.

You forgot Olusegun Osoba and the rag tag ogun & oyo senators like Lanlehin, Adeseun, Obadara etc.
But Lanlehin, one of the co-founders of the APC was frustrated out, the way politicians form a part and get it destroyed when the bubble bursts. in a situation like that how can we describe those still remaining in a ruling party when some key founders are frustrated out? You call them loyalists, saints or what?
PoliticsRe: APC Crisis: Governors Call Emergency Meeting As Osinbajo Meets Reps-elect by Rexyl(m): 9:11pm On Jun 08, 2015
discusant:
APC is not a party of politicians with same political ideology. nPDP, CPC, and ANPP sections joined in the merger merely to return power to the north.

ACN section felt Jonathan and his Igbo crew must not be allowed to continue in office, and that by fielding a southwestetner to aged Buhari, the SW shall soon be in charge in Aso Rock.

Rochas Okorocha was pursuing his personal agenda of becoming Nigeria's president.

Amaechi was in bitter acrimony with Patience Jonathan over Okrika waterside in PH, Rivers state, and the quarrel got out of hand, hence Amaechi joined APC.

Federating system for Nigeria: the SW wants regional government system, but northern sections of APC would not touch regional government system even with a long spoon, because northern politicians smile home with most of Nigeria's revenues every federal allocations day. They do this through the myriad states and local government councils created by northern soldiers unduly in the north.

So it is not long before APC returns to factions again.
Truth must be told even if sentiments have blocked sense of reasoning of some people. Your analysis sheds light on the real motives of those politicians that destroyed one system and successfully transformed to the other.
