though the govt can be thanked for the kind gesture the loss suffered by the concerned parents continues to be irreplaceable. It is violent people spilling the blood of the innocent that God should rise and root out from surface of the earth. The people who do not believe that live is sacred and that God placed much importance to it. May God save the nation from those agents of the devil, people that take lives of others on evil mission and for wicked intention.

ASUU deserves good pay, likewise NUT deserves better pay but it is a pity for NUT, they carry ASUU needs on their head while dragging their own on the ground. They are mostly compromised with their needs left unattended to or addressed partially any time they make a move against wretched condition and poverty of their members. See ASUU, they have both their say and way any time they agitate against conditions that fail to take proper care of them. In the case of ASUU it is fight to when desires are met but in the case of NUT it is struggle until they are weakened either by themselves or intervention of members of the public that seek ways to reconcile issues with the government, and they are forced to agree at the expense of meeting their needs. Now NUT is planning to help ASUU achieve positive results in their struggles but how will ASUU respond to NUT situation after their own success? I would suggest that where a lecturer receives a minimum of N100,000 a month a teacher shouldn't be paid below a minimum of N70,000 per month. huh huh huh

The commission said Ajayi was picked up last
Friday by the operatives of the EFCC from his apartment at 26, Link Bawo Road, in Hausawa,
Kano, following intelligence report.
A statement by the Head of Media and Publicity
of the commission, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, said
over 100 decoders and other computer gadgets

“Jonker, who expressed his gratitude to the EFCC
for the arrest, described the scam as one of the biggest in recent times.
“Ajayi will be arraigned in court when

@ zarian5. There is a great blunder in your write up here. I don't have the time to argue for religions. The truth has been clearly stated in the Bible. It is When the truth is bitter that people start to find alternatives.
Christianity Etc › Re: Who Is Right, Christians or Muslims? A Discussion. by Rexyl(m): 8:10pm On Sep 22, 2013
scaler345: Although I am irreligious, I have been musing about this for a while.

Assuming I want to become religious (at least religious people have been trying to convert me for a while after I got deconverted), which one do I choose?

A Christian will say Jesus is the only way, if I don't believe in him, I am damned to hell eternally where I will burn in fire that's been fueled with sulphur and brimstone ..... OMG!!! shocked

A Muslim will tell me Islam is the only true religion, if I don't believe in Prohpet Mohammed (pbuh) definitely I'm an infidel hell is my portion forever.......Dang!!!! shocked

Now, I did some thinking .......

a) the two cannot be right
b) christians are either right and the muslims are wrong, or
c) muslims are right, the christians are wrong
d) both religion based their beliefs on their holy books which you cannot proof or "refute". So basically it's based on individual conviction which is nothing to go by.

Now, how do you convince me that yours is the only and the right way?

Please don't use your holy book to persuade me because that won't work, for obvious reasons.

Thank you.
Any Christian that is willing to save you and help you know much about God in terms of His plan for salvation and what He demands from you as a duty for serving Him must tell you the truth. Let me tell you Christianity is not for fun. Your need of conversion into walking in the light but lack of interest in the source of light is funny to me and all concerned Christians. Why will you need light and not together with the lamp? Bible is what makes Christian, anything outside Bible would be dangerous for spiritual health and close relationship with God. If you are to be converted to Christianity you cannot do without a Bible. This is what Bible says about the scriptures: 2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Now you need to start the journey of living for God and being faithful to His commands. First you must know that you are a sinner that needs repentance and forgiveness of sin by God to transform you into a new life. As Christianity makes it possible, you need sound and correct teachings of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After knowing this and getting set to live for God you should locate a Church where you can be settled, get rooted, and start growing fast in the knowledge and word of God. This is because the devil will be trying to make you look back instead of looking forward while you are on course of salvation. The aim of the devil is to weaken faith thru trials and temptation so as to make a believer think otherwise about God and His plan for salvation. Now friend, it is not a matter of being a Christian that is important but living a Christian life that God wants from you.
Christianity Etc › Re: Sunday School Lessons: What Do You Gain To Share With Others? by Rexyl(op):
Today’s topic ‘Right attitudes for Ministry’. Lessons of the past few weeks open our hearts and understanding to the gifts of the Spirit and what is being expected from Christians blessed with the gifts. We have learnt much about life changing characters manifested by the gifts of Spirit and the awakening to live a life that is committed to doing God’s will. Today’s lesson will help us know about right attitudes and how to develop them for the ministry. Apostle Paul reminded us again that all Christians are to be involved in working for the needs of the Church and all members as well. Christians are expected to relate with one another without entertaining unnecessary argument and dispute, and without envying anyone. We are to work together and make our Church function in the way that pleases God. The following are to be examined for the right attitudes to the ministry: have humility in grace; be willing to Serve, and needs to be motivated by love in our actions.

Have humility in grace: It is by God’s grace we are called out of the world and become saved through Christ. Therefore we must realize that talents and abilities God deposited in us should be used to help others. We must see ourselves as members of one body headed by Christ. Apostle Paul gave a beautiful illustration of this that Christians are to relate and function like our body where all parts are interdependent. We need others to function effectively whenever we have located and occupied the place in the Church where God wants us to be and function. As we are doing this we must endeavor to help, support and care for others with humility.

Locate your place of usefulness in the ministry and use your ability to minister God’s grace to others Romans 12: 6-8. The gifts of spirit are purposeful here to achieve success. The gifts of prophesy and teaching are needed to build up, encourage and comfort other believers. The scripture shows it here that ability to rule diligently and to show mercy is product of the gifts of the Spirit. Believers are to promote these gifts and use them to God’s glory and meet needs of other people.

Christians are encouraged to be willing to serve, keeping in mind behaviors that will make them stay connected with God as they hope for the Lord’s return. Here we are to be of clear mind and exercise self-control in order to pray more intelligently and effectively. To achieve this we must show love, extend hospitality and minister the spiritual gifts by willing hearts.

We must be motivated by love in all we do. Love makes gifts truly profitable. All we do in the ministry should be motivated by love. Paul shows that if we are blessed with various gifts, but we are not showing love to others we do not amount to anything, 1Cor 13:1. Agape love is preferred and it is the kind of love God wants from all believers: the kind of love that considers interest and welfare of others. It is the love needed to maintain faith; love that does not hurt others; love that makes us deal patiently with those who are impatient; love that is not rude, that does not brag. Love that neither provokes others nor makes them angry. Love that does not rejoice in evil; the true love that covers and protects others. All gifts are useless if they are not motivated by this type of love. Also, faith is heading to destruction if not motivated by true love. May God help us. Lesson texts: Romans 12:3-8; 1 Corinthians 12: 31 thru Chapter 13:13 1 Peter 4:7-9

Don't jump to conclusion here without reading through many posts, the OP is primarily concerned about people denying existence of God, and this is so after they had been so much occupied with the physical environment and placed their beliefs on what they can sense, and believed that anything outside this is not sensible. People who are ignorant to know that life is also influenced by the spiritual aspects. They are in support of reasons that make some people deny existence of God but fail to disprove existence of Satan and the acts of divination whether for evil or good. People who don't know that once they come to faith they also come to continuous struggle against the devil that will always seek ways to destroy souls. Knowing God and walking with Him in obedience is a continuous process which Satan is ever ready to obstruct. One thing is certain if you deny existence of God you cannot deny existence of devil and forces/minds of evil that Science can never control.

the taunt is what God expect them to pronounce on the king of BABYLON not the Devil.

secondly, see rev. 12:8 NIV.

"But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. "

When they were cast out from heaven, they no longer went back to heaven again.

Does it not make sense to conclude that the cast out was just once, the one done in revelation?

I ve told you the background of Jesus words at Luke. Devil cant be cast out of heaven and he returns there again. does that make any sense?
Am getting deeper in thought as regards the place in the university where Satan currently occupies. As I was getting deeper in thought from all the points raised from various replies I was taken to the trial of Job, to settle matters as regards Satan‘s current state and abode.

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. 1:7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

Alright! Satan was/ or not cast out and he is/not on earth already. This is a matter for rise and fall in thought of man as I can define it. But as for me I would say Satan was cast out of heaven. Matters that arose from Jesus temptation showed that Satan was on earth: Jesus rebuked him while executing his work. Let‘s consider this Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil... Mat 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. 4:11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
Here Jesus called him by his name, and I think whether physical or spiritual wilderness it took place on earth. Thanks.
Christianity Etc › Re: Did God Create People Before Adam And Eve? by Rexyl(m):
JMAN05: Who said that I am disproving revelation. if I disprove it why will I be quoting rev 12 above?

As for the word of Jesus. remember that Jesus made that statement after he heard the report of his disciples who cast away demons.

Jesus was so impressed of that fit that he stated that he behold satan fall from heaven. satan was not falling from heaven at that time, neither had he fell before then as revelation shows. Jesus words mean that satan's fall is so certain as if it has happened if his(satan's) powers are even subject to his imperfect disciples.

the war stated in revelation 12:7-9 didnt take place before Jesus human existence but AFTER. why? because the book of revelation are things that will shortly take place after it was given.

Revelation 1:1 KJV

"The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:"
Very interesting! But there are two schools of thought here: one believing that Satan was cast out of heaven going by manifestations of signs and wonders of the devil and evils that has bedeviled the world since when the scriptures established that Satan is the Author of evils. And the other school of thought that the falling of Satan is what is yet to come as clearly indicated in the books of Revelation. Or that the revelation shows more about the second falling of Satan and all his agents which will put an end to all evils. --- Referencing the word of Jesus when he said “I beheld Satan fall..“ Then back to Isaiah 14: 16&17; 16 They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; 17 That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?“

Whether this is refering to a man or devil? Whether a man or devil could do such devastation? Thanx.
Christianity Etc › Re: Did God Create People Before Adam And Eve? by Rexyl(m): 4:09pm On Sep 17, 2013
JMAN05: Pls let me interrupt you a little. the prophesy at Isaiah 14 is not made for the Devil but for the king of babylon.

Isaiah 14:4 KJV
"That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!"

In verse 16 you will see the prophesy is about a man. Isaiah 14:16 KJV
They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

Note that this is a proverbial saying. some translation call it, TAUTING word. so those words are not basically what the king did but it was used to taunt him. for eg he is not a shining or lucifer as a name but the word was used to jest him cos of his being immodest and haughty.

Even if you want to use it on satan as a priciple, you should remember that it was a taunting word. contextually, the verse was not discussing the casting down of satan. Jesus has never been made king as at this time.

Satan was removed from heaven AFTER the first century CE not before. Rev. 12.
So you are trying disprove the revelation and claim that the event that sent Satan away from heaven never took place. May be you will say no to this also spoken by Jesus Luke 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

So what are saying here...God allowed inbreeding, then when after fulfillment of of guaranteed population God "stops" it. Did you know that God stopped this in Leviticus. I mean is this not several years after he allowed it. But no mention of abnormal births due to inbreeding in the bible, as to say that is why God stopped it.
Please explain this.

Further more, God cursed the earth, and the serpent if God made EVERYTHING good, why is God then rectifying what he set up in the first place?
Explain this also.

Give thanks bredren.
To this last question, though you may not understand this I have to say, the cause is when Satan vied the exalted position of Jesus Christ in heaven and tried all means to displace him of the throne of kingdom. This rivalry caused his expulsion from heaven. He was rebuked and left for the great judgment where He, fallen angels that conspired with him and all souls that fall to evils shall be judged, and all evils shall come to an end. It is as result of presence of Satan on earth that perfectly created things are being altered, and made to be imperfect. You know He was also there at the creation. He knows many secrets so he can alter things as he likes, that is reason why the Bible quantifies that struggling against evils goes beyond the physical, Ephesians 6.

To the first question, once again inbreeding reduces productivity either by decline in quality xters or recycling of certain diseases in a particular generation, also it is disgusting, so God forbade it.

Christianity Etc › Re: Sunday School Lessons: What Do You Gain To Share With Others? by Rexyl(op):
Today’s topic ‘Gifts to Equip and Mature’. The gifts given to the Church are for spiritual growth to maturity. Matured Christians are expected to teach and train others to work in unity so that they can mature in truth and love to God’s glory. A Christian that has been blessed with the spiritual gifts must work in obedience to God’s command so as to mature and be successful in faith and service. This lesson reveals that a matured Christian must be able to perform in at least one of the offices where spiritual gifts are mostly desired: as apostles; prophets; prophets; pastors and teachers. When we identify the areas of calling we can deliver we must play our part minding the followings: Unity of the Spirit; The Ministry Gifts, and Maturing in Truth and Love.

Our ability to be united in the Spirit must be based on sound doctrines which will make us know practical ways we can fulfill God’s purpose. Apostle Paul calls our attention to the needs to walk worthy of our calling, this means our conducts should balance our calling, and we can show this when we treat others with modesty and courtesy, when we love others and promote their welfare instead of counting on their faults which breeds resentment 1 Peter 4: 8. Apostle Paul shed light on the basis of our unity as a body of Christ: from unity in the Spirit to unity in the Son and to the Father. This spiritual unity portrays the Church as a single community with the seal of ‘one body’, ‘one Spirit’ ‘one hope’ one ‘Lord’ and one ‘baptism’.

It is by ‘one body’ we are reconciled in Christ; by ‘one Spirit’ we all receive the indwelling of the Spirit of God in us and by which we are baptized into the body of Christ, 1 Corinthians 12:13; Romans 8:9, and our hope is to share eternity with Christ. It is in ‘one Lord’ we believe and by his name we pray and God answers us. By ‘One baptism’ we first passed through the required water baptism from which we are empowered to be baptized into the body of Christ by Holy Spirit. On all these we believe and are made Christians. These fundamentals make us different from other religions, and by this we are united and uphold the gospel.

The Ministry Gifts are gifts from Christ by which we minister the gospel to others, and to effectively carry out the ministry of the kingdom of God. Christ’s victory and his ascension to heaven made this ministry available for believers, Psalm 68: 18 testified to this even long before Christ’s coming. Paul listed these gifts as the gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. These gifts and their roles have to do with those appointed to leadership position in the Church Ephesians 4:11-12. These leadership gifts aims that those occupying leadership positions are able to perform all the works of the ministry, but at the same time to ensure that all believers are given a role to play in the church, all members are important and must be given the grace to deliver God's service in one way or the other.

One of the goals of the ministry is for believers to come to the unity of faith, and from which they should be trained continuously until they attain spiritual maturity. All believers should mature in truth and love. Paul shows that it is not good of any believer to remain stagnant over some months of staying and learning in the Church Ephesians 4: 14-16. A stagnated believer would be like a ship being tossed about by the waves of ragging sea, and in the process he will be venerable to false teachings that can make him stumble and fall and even forget about walking with God.

Believers are encouraged to be united in truth and love so that they would not be victims of false teachings. When a believer is being led astray by false teaching, a matured Christian has the responsibility of gently guiding him in truth. Christ’s gospel wants all believers to be transformed into a new life where they can part with the corrupt way of life. Christians must renew their thinking, and as a new creation in Christ believers are to develop a new attitude to sin and righteousness. God is righteous and holy, therefore believers must pursue righteousness and holiness. May God help us. Lesson texts: Ephesians 4: 1-24.
Can you please deal with my post. It is in blue. I'm curious to hear your reasoning on my questions.

Give thanks.
God allowed inbreeding in the first instance but later banned it. First it was one plus one that made two and more offsprings in that process starting from the two created by God. After fulfillment of population that guaranteed continuity and existence God had to stop it, even long before people could apply technology on nature. God is omniscience, He knows that socially this way of procreation should no longer be acceptable (it is stigmatic) and biologically, it shouldn't be encouraged, it will lead to decline of certain characters and reduction in performance over time. Animals raised through inbreeding end up producing traits of low value, so it has to be discouraged.

Don Oms: I have been trying to read every single post on this thread until I got tired and decided to post something myself.
The OP has made a good observation (I once asked myself the question anyway) and many posters have contributed meaningfully (and otherwise, I'm afraid).
Apropos, I have this to say: The Holy Bible is a "perfect" summary of what was, what is now and what is to come. Hence, it couldn't tell in detail what information isn't relevant to the cause it supports. Like John said in John 21:25 "And there are also many things, whatever Jesus did, which, if they should be written singly, I suppose the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen." (MKJV) ...And that's just Jesus' account! Imagine an account of everything from inception.
In other words, the Bible didn't mention where Cain got his wife neither did it mention ALL those who were born (and many other things) because those info weren't necessary in order to support the message of the Bible and the purpose of writing it. It is clearly written & said by God that Adam was the first man & then Eve followed. I'll advice we stop bothering ourselves on unimportant "unquoted" details in the Biblical history and embrace the basic message it preaches: LOVE, RIGHTEOUSNESS, PEACE and GOD's WILL.
Thank You.
yeah who knows whether it took hundreds of years before God and host if heaven decided to create living things after creation/existence of physical things. Bible makes it known that everything created is for rise and fall in thought esp among people that don't know God and his work.

These leaders are powerful today and the way best known to some of them is biting the fingers that fed them. Some of them attended mission schools to receive western education that made them relevant in the society, and what they are today. Now it is worrisome how some of them determine to rule out the path that showed light to their lives. These leaders should learn to be appreciative, and grant everyone of similar qualification equal opportunity without sentiments on religion.

Kwara State should know that this kind of disposition is dangerous! It is for tearing apart and pulling down among your people. Should people who are more experienced and qualified be denied of appropriate posts in the state due to sentimental and religious issues there would be danger of secretly eliminating them and rendering those who could be of great benefits useless over the time.
Christianity Etc › Re: How Should Christians Use Social Media? by Rexyl(m):
YES Your faithfulness to God is tested and proven based on your relationship with fellow brethren. As you relate with others you have gone the social way. Communication and relationship involves social media for effective execution. Also from Christ‘s command, it is ‘go ye into the world and teach... those believe and baptise them in the name of Father, the Son and Holy Spirit‘‘. First of all you must reach out to them before bringing them to God. No matter any form it comes or being used a social medium is a social medium. They may be available under different names and contain different features, the purpose is to link up with somebody and deliver a message. But the warning is use them the ways that please God, do not corrupt good manner with them. It pleases God when we use all available and legal means to declare His love and intention to others. Your access to the media as a believer is to show that you use them to teach and lead others to doing God‘s will. Jesus calls believers to walk and shine in the light of God so that there wouldn't be room for darkness in what they do, Matthew 5:14-16.
Christianity Etc › Re: Did God Create People Before Adam And Eve? by Rexyl(m): 6:11pm On Sep 12, 2013
God did the creation as we read about it in the Bible because all people God gave revelation and those inspired by His Spirit to write down what He gave them did not in any place throughout the Bible dispute the information about creation of Adam. Also Jesus who knows it all from the beginning is not quoted in the New Testament contradicting this fact. God the creator exposed some facts about creation and made it possible for us to exploit while there are still many things in the creation that man will never be able to explore, cos they are concealed. It is so glaring in the Bible that in early history of record keeping, mostly in the old Testament women and children were not often taken records of, if not at all. An example of this is seen in the book of Exodus where the account of Israelites that left Egypt reflected over six hundred thousand ONLY men, not counting women and children. So based on the question OP asked, the answer has been provided, read Genesis 5:4.

You can do better by wishing Buhari well for not contesting any political post once again.
