Today’s topic is Gifts of Power’. The gift of power is available for believers to develop and equip themselves. As promised by Jesus Christian ministry is backed with authority and power to overcome forces of evil and to be successful in the gospel. The scripture shows that spirit filled believer’s speeches and preaching are not enticing words of man’s wisdom, but of the spirit and power of God (1 Corinthians 2:4). We will examine gifts of power in the following aspects: gift of faith, gifts of healing and miraculous power.

Faith is one of the fruits of the spirit and it is an extraordinary demonstration of the power of God. It is by faith we walk with God and believe in His power to make possible what looks to be impossible. This kind of faith was demonstrated by Peter when he commanded the lame beggar (Acts 3:6-7) to arise and walk in the name of Jesus. The gift of faith builds confidence in believer and helps to see that God is in control, and that He will make possible what seems to be impossible.

Gift of healing is available for Christians as they minister. Jesus gives us power and authority over the devil and all evils. He sent the disciple to preach the gospel and heal the sick (Luke 9:1-6). Gift of healing is a wonderful gift God gives to the church. He wants us to use it to deliver those who are oppressed and being tormented by the devil. God gives believers the power and authority for victory over Satan and all evils, Luke10:17-20. What we need to do is allowing Holy Spirit to lead and release the gifts for us. We cannot choose to heal people any time we want, but we should do what is required of us as Christians (having faith and confidence in prayers), God does the healing at specific situations.

Miraculous Power is a gift of power. This involves supernatural demonstrations of God’s mighty power in our lives. The Bible shows that there is power in the prayer of believers which makes God act in an extra ordinary way. An example is when believers prayed and God sent His angel to released Peter from the prison. All chains that bound him fell off, and he was taken out of the prison cell without knowledge of the sixteen soldiers that were watching over him (Acts 12:1-11). This shows that when we pray God is ready to intervene in the impossible situation (James 5:16). God works miracles in churches to make people listen to His word and convince them about power of Holy Spirit. May He make His miraculous power available for us in Jesus name. How does it go today?

OXCUBA: how can you say that a church is not all about auditorium whether beautiful or decorated and is not all about spiritual leader. Most of our spiritual leaders play an active role in bring us close to God but not all thou. So spiritual leaders matters a lot in the up bring of church and a church must be well decorated because it is a holy place.

yeah a church is not about auditorium and who stays in the front. A church is an evidence of spiritual structure but which manifests in the physical gathering of believers that worship God in the way that pleases Him, not for selfish interest of anyone, that is reason I stated it was not about those leading. You know the Bible says it is possible for believers to gather and do as if they serve God but God might not be in their mist, Matthew 15:8. Second, it is only gathering of believers built and covered by the Spirit of God and having faith in Jesus that should be regarded as a Church. How to know this? It is when sound doctrines are being delivered - not mind blowing messages contaminated with evil thoughts and practices. Third, are the leaders called and anointed by God to do His work? Where it sounds to be no, people are just gathering under the influence of the flesh which is contrary to the atmosphere and work of Holy Spirit. Pls don't be mistaken about our freedom as Christians. You know gospel of Jesus declares liberty for us 1 Corinthians 3:17. The liberty is available only when and where it is conducive for God‘s Spirit to dwell with us whether as an individual or collectively as a Church. Definitely a place of freedom and holy place must edify presence of God and His work. Such should be beautifully decorated but it is the spiritual aspects that matter most.

Talking about Church is all about spiritual matter and not worldly affairs or what we call wordiliness. The church of God is not about auditorium whether beautifully decorated or not. It is not even all about the spiritual leaders and how services are conducted. It is about an individual seeing himself or herself as being spotless in the Christ‘s ordained principles and faith: the spiritual level that Christians must struggle to attain in their relationships with God. A church is about individual member that has seen himself/herself as being fit to spiritually join with other members that are truly serving God and doing His will, and who are coming together as a body which head is Christ. Jesus described how the replicas of his body should look like: people who are set to worship God in spirit and truth; people are more concerned about making heaven and as a result of this doing justly, loving and caring for others. A church should be traced back to the priorities of the early church such having the zeal and passion to look out for the lost souls and bring them to God, and settling them down and teaching them sound doctrines of the scriptures in the ways Christ and Apostles did.

It should have been better stated that man should be encouraged to adopt God‘s given covenant and follow the right way to make heaven which is Jesus Christ . This bitter truth could have been very difficult to believe but thank Almighty God for being sincere with His covenant. As I have always stated it, the covenant was started in the old testament and got fulfilled in the New Testament. Any thing outside this is dangerous as God‘s plan to make heaven. Jesus stated it all the roles devil will play in struggling against kingdom of God. Jesus revealed that many more prophets are coming: those that will come in his name and continue the work of salvation; those that will come in his name and lead believers even the “elects“ astray; and those with what looks like the making of God but which is for unrighteous deception for destruction of souls. I think people should understand enough to know the category they fall to. Remember Jesus says autoritativelly that he is the way, the truth and life and that nobody comes to the father except through him. John 14:6, and there are many other words of authority and assurance. I wouldn't know why some people have struggled for years to twist God‘s ordained process. People contesting this fact can only succeed if there had not been evidence of God‘ journey with man right from the accounts of the old testament and its conclusion in the new testament. You just need to be careful about what is similar to this and what is struggling to turn it upside down. The question is will God allow it to succeed?

South West govt and governors it is now the time to wake up: you have been sleeping for years, and up till now it seems no concrete thing has been on ground on agriculture in terms of who owns and controls farming lands. From some years back till now there have been fulanis/farmers conflicts over who controls grazing lands and farms and as at present there has not been a clear resolution from any quarters. Farmers in the zone are facing a very difficult situation: they spend a lot on crop production in which they are at the mercy of weather. If weather fails them they loose more money and efforts than they put in. This year Crop production has been a disaster to more than 80% of farmers cos weather situation has led to massive crop failure. If you go to farming communities farmers will say much about what they are passing thru, last week I saw a farmer weeping on his 10 acres maize farm on which rain stopped suddenly at tassling stage. For over a month of no rain the farm is a waste; no hope of making money to cover production cost not to talk of profit. Unfortunately there are no irrigation facilities to help at difficult times such as this.

If farmers are silently suffering like this, I think they will not take it easy with anybody that will compete with the little they are left with. These Fulanis will come and destroy what remains in farms, not only that many of them are robbers that operate on market days. Many farmers are being robbed of the little amount that is not enough to break even. They have done this for years and their hosting communities have accommodated them but with trend of things now farmers and traders are no longer ready for the marriage of inconvenience. As farmers are suffering this difficult situation traders also are not left out. Many unfolding issues about the plight of Yoruba traders that buy produce from the North make us know that forces in the North are working to stop them from coming up North to buy food stuffs. They are killing traders and stealing their money so that there wouldn't be competition to beat prices down for the people in the South. While anyone might say it is boko haram, a set up to massacre traders from the South has been suspected. Why? Those who escaped Maiduguri massacre of traders narrated how those devils spared hausa/kanuri traders while they killed and stole money of other tribes from the South. As at present this has resulted in hike in prices of food commodities from the North.

The South West can produce those commodities successfully if resources are harnessed and used optimally. Irrigation must be considered and installed and all those devourers wearing human face must be stopped.

For everything a believer needs for salvation of his soul it is 100% possible to make heaven by placing his faith purely on the truth of the new testament. But if a believer wants to live beyond working for salvation of only his soul he must be experienced enough in messages of God for salvation of mankind. He must know more about God in terms of His covenants; how He started it? What kinds of people He used? And how events were in sequence that is, the ways they were related and documented towards fulfilling God‘s plan of salvation in the Bible. You know the coming of Jesus was not by occasion or accident. Some things about His coming were predicted by some prophets, that is why his life and messages are not a disaster to anyone. New Testament compliments the old Testament therefore both are inseparable to learn and know important things we should know about God. New Testament let us know that covenant of God right from old Testament is being fulfilled and his plan coming to reality. That is why we have seen that God is not contradictory but was faithful to His promise.

Today’s topic is ‘Gift of Knowledge’ In continuation of the gifts of the spirit, today’s lesson takes us through what we should know as we are growing spiritually to serve God. We are endowed naturally with knowledge but Spirit of God reveals what is beyond ordinary to people that live to serve Him. God’s Spirit reveals the mysteries that are difficult to perceive and understand by our senses. I Corinthians 2:9&10 says more about this; that God Spirit will reveal and interpret for man what is beyond his imagination. Ability to receive God’s giving information in supernatural ways depends on our spiritual relationship with Him. Today’s lesson examines three important components of the gifts of knowledge which are: word of wisdom, word of knowledge and discerning of spirits.

God enables people with the words of wisdom to make right decisions. Wisdom is about common sense, sound judgement and other critical qualities needed in critical times; and the word of wisdom stays as supernatural insight for specific situations. Example of this is demonstrated by King Solomon in 1 Kings 3 16-18 where it is revealed that God gave Solomon understanding mind to observe and understand mysteries. As a result of this gift he could read and understand situation to act rightly and strike out the truth. Likewise during the early church the ministry of Paul and Barnabas was so empowered that many new converts were added daily to the church. Then matters arose as regards whether the uncircumcised converts should be regarded as believers. It was by application of God’s wisdom that it was clarified that being a Christian should be based on biblical standards of morality and holiness instead of legalistic requirements. This shows that church should be built on the basis of salvation of human souls through faith in Christ.

On the words of knowledge we should know that human research and evaluation are not enough; we do not have ability to foresee future events and make decisions for things to turn out the way we should have expected. God knows the future and what is needed in the present to prepare well for the future. We can’t see into the future, therefore we need the Spirit of God to reveal some secrets and give information that will direct and guide us through it.

Christians doing the work of God should strive for the gifts of discerning of spirits to enable them identify the spirit behind actions and attitudes of others in specific situations. At times the spirit of evil can pretend and present himself as the spirit of God. Such spirit is doing this to do harm by leading an undiscerning believer into trouble in the course of gospel. There are instances in the Bible when the spirit of Satan resorted to praising and glorifying God but it was by discerning of spirit that the evil spirit was identified and rebuked. Paul identified and rebuked evil spirit that was announcing and testifying the power and message of salvation of God of his ministry (Acts 16:16-18). Also, Jesus identified and rebuked evil spirit to come out of the man that was even testifying that Jesus was the Holy One of God (Mark 1:23-25). Spirit of evil can operate under any disguise to thwart God’s work for salvation of human souls but with the gift of discerning of spirit a believer will be able to identify and rebuke him. Close 2 d expiratn date de were notifyin wit sms n d@ i shuld hv 1.5k on my fone on d expiry date, by den i was havin 1gb .
