seshe: Maybe their response should be to show him some love (that he's clearly lacking from his -black- wife, mother and sisters) and make him ashamed of himself. But yeah, she's probably the kind of woman he was talking about.
You are right my sister, maybe if sistas stop being unneccessarily combative and more approachable, show less paranoia around other people and quit trying so hard to show that they are "strong black women" that leads them most times to clash with others that see their struggles differently. I like it when sistas see their problems less from the racial stereotyping that everyone has of them and just see them as general problems affecting all women. Every race has angry pple both male and females.
Many Black Women are Bitter....lets call it for what it is.

The Majority of them possess the features that have relegated them to the bottom of the Beauty Ladder

Many Darkskin Black women particularly are embittered..and walk around In foul moods often times because society by majority view them az ugly.

Lets just stop playing games and call it what it is.

Keep it real FFS lml

Whats up with all these anti blk lady threads popping up all over forums...I see them all across the internet lol

^This guy is shot the fuc out LmL
This is where I have a problem with sweeping generalizations like this one. Like seriously, outside of American black women, how many black women have you dated or been with to arrive at such a hasty conclusion?
I am Nigerian and live in Nigeria, our women are many things but definitely not angry or bitter, neither do they work around with unapproachable countenance on their face or a combustible bitchy mood.

Only Americans, unfortunately, most of them black American males of the AA stock like you, make such an uncanny statement. May be and I mean it by every stretch, if ya'll start being responsible males and quit choosing industrial prison complexes as your homes while bailing out on your women, instead sticking around with your women to raise the family and owning up to your manly responsibility, they might have less things to worry about and make them unneccessarily moody.
Many AA males are-to put it bluntly-largely irresponsible and the core source of the anger in the "mad black women" they often condemn and put down. Until they start owning up to their responsibilities and treat their women with some repect, $hiiit like this will keep popping up. My African sisters are not bitter or angry, being unneccessarily angry or rude is so not our thing over here in Africa, so AA males should quit playing with the scissors and $h!t and just cut the crap. . .American is not the world biko!

I have been following the "not so palatable comments" based on generalization of black women folks made by the American comedian, D.L Hughley which tags black women as always being angry and to some extent control freaks.

Obviously, they are not taking it lightly cos he has been getting a vicious backlash from black-women folks especially black women from the African-American Community.

To say the truth, I have heard this sexist and racial stereo-typing especially about African-American women and the Jamo-women, I can't say for sure if the notion is true or not but I can state without any equivocation that not all black women are angry; at least, not migrant sisters from the African continent, husslers but definitely not angry.

Bad enough, as if Mr Hughely's generalization was not bad enough, emotionally disturbed Kola Boof of the kimora lee-Djimon Honsou infamy took to twitter to prove Mr hughely's generalization right by hurling insults.
The woman went all ghetto and gutter with Hughely on twitter and got served just thesame way she gave.

In a way, she may have proved Mr Hughely's generalization right with her attitude.

Are Black women realy always angry? Or is it just a characteristics found mostly with black women from the AA communities. Your take.

TroGunn: Jacob engaged and refused to let go of an angel until he received a blessing. Jacob knew the angel is God's messenger or representative - he was obviously not speaking literally as seing God's face.

As usual, other parts of the Bible provide clarity on what happened and how it was understood by the people at the time - :

Hosea 12:2-4
American Standard Version (ASV)

2 Jehovah hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.

3 In the womb he took his brother by the heel; and in his manhood he had power with God:

4 yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed; he wept, and made supplication unto him : he found him at Beth-el, and there he spake with us

That pastor needs help.
bros that argument is flawed and makes little sense, not when the jacob guy claims that he had seen God face to face. That the 'man' he, Jacob fought with was a god is amply demonstrated - Jacob asked for his blessing, and he had the prerogative of changing Jacob's name. The new name he gave Jacob was Israel (generally assumed to mean "wrestled with God') and Jacob called the place Peniel ('the faceof God') because he had seen God face to face.
I wonder why christian like twisting the bible when it does not says what they would have wished it said. Again, the claims this bible page is contradictory and makes nonsense of the bible's claims that no man can see God because one has to be perfect to see him. Unless being a lier, a cheat and deciever like Jacob is all the virtues that one needs to see God or better still the story like many other incoherent stories of the bible is a pile of crappy, zizzag story that makes no logical sense.

These are some little facts an average muslim is not aware of and will never know unless he begins to use his brains to ask questions.
The crescent moon that we see on islamic buildings all lend their origins to paganism, the fertility moon god worship that was one of the many pre-existing pagan worship in arabia prio to mohammed. Common sense is not common afterall.

THE PAGAN SOURCES OF ISLAM
by Silas
GENERAL
As Muhammad developed Islam he borrowed from the other regional religions present in the Mideast. These religions include Judaism, Christianity, Sabeanism, Zoroastrianism, and forms of paganism. Judaism is the largest contributor to Islam, followed by Christianity, then followed by the various pagan religions, andMuhammad’s mind. These pagan borrowings constitute significant facets of Islam and this article details some of these pagan contributions.
1) PAGANISM IN ISLAM
Islamic theology has some of its roots in various pagan beliefs. Primary to Islam is it's most holiestshrine: the Kaba.
THE KABA
The Kaba is now the most revered sanctuary of Islam. It is located in Mecca. Muslims throughout the world direct their prayers toward the Kaba.
PHYSICAL SHAPE
The Kaba's shape is somewhat cubical. Of note in the Kaba's structure is a black rock built into the wall in its eastern corner. The black rock's diameter is about 12 inches. It is reddish black in color, and has red and yellow particles. The black rock is kissed during the perambulation, (the circulation of the Muslims around the Kaba). The Kaba is about 50 feet high, and the walls are about 40 feet long. The facade contains the door, which starts at 7 feet off the ground, and faces N.E.. To enter the Kaba, a ladder must be used. Also built in the eastern corner, is another stone called "lucky". This stone is only touched, not kissed.
KNOWN PAGAN HISTORY
Apart from Muslim myths, little is really known about the history of the Kaba. About 60 years before Christ, the Roman historian Diodorus Siculus commented that there was in Arabia a temple greatly revered by the Arabs. It is probable that he had the Kaba in mind. It was later mentioned to have existed in the 2nd century; Ptolemy, the geographer mentions it in his work, calling it the 'macoraba'. The Kaba was a sanctuary dedicated to one or more pagan deities. The accounts of the campaigns of Abrahanote that it was a place of pagan worship in the 6th century. Information on the distribution of the offices among the sons of Kusayy show that the worship of the sanctuary had developed into a regulated cult several generations before Muhammad.
One historian (Hurgronjes) said that sacred worship may have developed around the area because the Zamzam spring was found in this waterless place.
Pre-Islamic history tells us that many Arabian tribes were stone worshippers. This is also mentioned in Sahih al-Bukhari, Vol 5, #661. The Old Testament even talks about Mideast pagan groups that worshipped stones. Muhammad incorporated the Kaba's paganistic roots into Islam to give the Muslims a sense of identity, legitimacy, and uniqueness. He also wanted to ease the Arab's strain of moving from paganism to Islam, by continuing the practices of their fathers.

maclatunji: Ok Rhymz has seen many flaws in Christianity and is wary of Islam. It is a natural thing for an increasing number of people like him to claim to be Atheists when in actual fact, they're crying out for answers.

A fascinating predicament they're in.
you make it sound like my wariness about ISLAM is unfounded. Sorry bro, just like Christianity, Islam is rife with inconsistencies and stoopid illogical beliefs that defiles common sense. Just like the books of the bible, the Koran and Hadith were chosen from the countless many in circulation and pronounced holy and divine by a group of mere mortals; these men choose which books were to be called holy and divine and which ones are to be called heresy. You and I know that the hadith for instance has other very unfavourable versions that have been declared heretic jobs because of their unpalatable accounts of Moh's life and sayings. To be honest, if I were forced to choose between islam and Christianity, trust me, the former wont stand a chance in my considerations.
Besides, I don't remember describing myself here as an Atheist, just because I am bold enough to puncture holes in the claims of mainstream religions does not mean you should draw conclusions that I am yet to reach for myself.

TroGunn: Christianity is different from Judaism, though it's built from it. I do agree with your point about most jews expecting a more political messiah to free them from opressive Caesar - whch largely explains their rejection of Christ. Whether their "quick fix" expectation was accurate and based on the Old Testament prophecies about the messaih is subject of another discussion/thread. Isaiah definitely mentioned the messiah being killed.

Maybe on another thread. We've monopolized this muslim thread enough and gotta call it a night.

Jesus answered him, Wilt thou lay down thy life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, The rooster shall not crow, still thou hast denied me thrice.
JOH 18:27

TroGunn: At least you should try and get some knowledge on something you are so determined to criticize. I said Christ's death was written about by Isaiah even before Christ was born so the idea of a messiah is not a Gnostic idea. Book of Isaiah is not in the new testatment. The Dead Sea scrolls, which shows these Isaiah's texts, is dated at least a hundred years before Christ. You should look at things with an open mind - that's how you determine what's true.
My friend you seem to think or assume that Christianity and Judaism are thesame thing, huh? Isaiah was a jewish prophet with an entirely different concept of the messiah christians turned Jesus to. Till date, you can go and do your research, Jewish people concept of messaiah is not the one that will come to die for anyone and then go back to heaven. The messaiah isaiah talked about was the one that will free the Jewish ppl who then were under serious Roman persecution and lead a kingdom on earth that will destroy the roman rule and establish a prosperous Jewish one. Before Jesus they had assumed different prophets as messiahs. Meanwhile, the Pauline writers came, crept into the jewish messianic beliefs and tirned Jesus into some divine messiah that came to die for some sin me I no sabi about.

which logic is unparalleled?
That there exist one god with three ppl inside him? Can you honestly explain to me why God needed Jesus to be murdered by human beings just so he God can be glorified? Ego boost or just to remind himself of his god status? Couldn'r he have saved the world with neccessarily sending his alleged son on a suicide mission to apease his own ego? How is that logical.
How about the inconsistent tales of how Jesus died, from Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, their accounts of his death are all inconsistent hogwash. Don't get me started mr
Islam › Re: Will Muslims See God? by rhymz(m): 10:18pm On Oct 30, 2012
TroGunn: Gnosticism does not predate Christianity. The idea developed after. The death of Jesus was predicted long before it happened, e.g by Isaiah - Isaiah 53:5-12.
You obviously are trying to imply that immediately your fictional Jesus died, there was a book about him, NO? In fact, the books in the bible are just one of the very many books written about his death and myth, some were outrightly gnostic and described him in a way very different from the inconsistent tales of the new testament. For instance, the man that compiled the first books of the new testament, Marcion was a chronic heretic that later was excommunicated from the Roman Church after he went all out with his beliefs. It was upon his own version that the church fathers added, edited, corrupted and did all sorts of non-sense to arrive at the present holy book of today that you now see as the inerrant words of God. You think it is coincidence that most of the authors can't be traced? These authors wrote abour a christ they never met in person, whatever they wrote were mystery stories of the early christians who heard from another from another until they came to the present book. Go do the research.

TroGunn: The devil's existence does not make God imperfect. It's no different from blaming well-mannered, law-abiding parents for their son's waywardness when the son disobediently opts to join bad gangs and go against good advice of parents. It's what freewill is. Satan alleged that Adam and Eve were deceived by God, that disobeying God would make them know "good and bad" and become like God. Adam opted to believe Satan, that not listening to God is better. That's what plunged us into this mess. A quick destruction of the rebels would not have proved beyond any doubt who was right - God or Satan - as there were obviously other intelliegent spirit beings who were watching.

The time that has passed has shown who is right. In God's own time, he'll right the wrongs and take out the devil. And the current experience of humans without God will serve as an irrefutable example for future rebels, who will be summarily dealt with. That, my friend, is the logical story of the Bible.

Definitely more sensible than the nothingness offered by the alternative.
I thought your God was supposed to be an all-knowing and all-powerful God that can avert future occurrence even before they happen? Nyemeka is very right, your God is not perfect afterall he can be compared to my inperfect parents. So why call him God?
Islam › Re: Will Muslims See God? by rhymz(m): 9:37pm On Oct 30, 2012
TroGunn: Christians worship God, but Jesus Christ does play a key part in it. Christ set us a perfect example to follow in worshipping God. If a 3rd party is unnecessary in worshipping God, you lot should listen to no writings of Moh'd, or Imam. My understanding of some of the activities of the pilgrimage is doing things Moh'd did or was close to including circling and kissing the meteorite.
Do you know that the concept you describe here is nothing short of gnosticism?
Who exactly introduced this concept of a dying messiah whose ressurection brought atonement for believers if not the writers of those Pauline epistles. In the old testaments, which actually was to an extent about some real human beings unlike the numerous fictional characters and names in the new testaments, the concept of a messiah coming to die was entirely alien and not existed until some gnostic writers with helenistic influences started bringing pagan concept of a dying god into the mix. Whatwver nonsense explanation of faith based salvation as claimed in the NT was borrowed and stolen from pagan religious beliefs that we today call illuminati.

The least of some of those writers whose writeups are now somehow part of the bible wrote 40-80 after the death of jesus. If the old testament was not distorted, then he shld be able to tel u the church jesus built, worshiped and which of the days he went to church for service? Nothin is original about them.
let me help you there. None of these people ever existed. There is no proof to show they lived or wrote those books. Those books are all pseudographs written by numerous anonymous writers whose religious beliefs were not neccessarily christ-like. The roman catholic father compiled and chose which of the books to be certified divine or heretic.

What kind of perfect being creates this kind of confusion in the world even with fore-knowledge of the future? Islam › Re: Will Muslims See God? by rhymz(m): 9:01pm On Oct 30, 2012
TroGunn: Why do you think God is scared of the devil? And God did not create the devil - he made himself one. He was a free being who sought his own prominence and broke God's laws to do so, thus becoming evil. And God has set a time to deliver his judegment on him. There are deeper issues involved and the devil will be taken out when the time comes. Things will get worse before it gets better because the Devil is increasing earth's woes because he knows that he has only "a short period of time" left before being shut down. (Revelation 12:7-12; 20:1-3)
You are one guy I respect a lot, you have got a good head on your neck. However, I fear that just like most religious faithfuls that have been numbed into thoughtlessness, you argue from thesame premise, full of illogical assumptions and man-made explanations and hypothesis of your god's thoughts and actions.

You will have to agree with me that all that crappy ambigious explanation about the devil turning himself into what he is only shows the folly in the claims of your god being an omnipotent, all-knowing shrek, he obviously did not see this one coming and is powerless to do anything about it, Just like his many actions that the bible says he later came to regret. Obvious characteristics of a being not in control of anything or having fore-knowledge of the future let alone decide anyone's fate.

You guys keep concocting irrational explanations to support your belief sytems but in fact, you and I know these are just spiritual mumbo-jumbo that makes no sense, after all said and done, they are all man's words against another man's word, they are not divine or sacrosanct. Trust me, your God will not and can not do anything about satan or whatever it is christians claim.

The whole concept of an evil creature is derived from human beliefs of bad and good, light and darkness, negetive and positive, they created god and just had to create him an equivalent opposite in the person of a devil, in case you have not noticed, they are equally powerful according to your bible.

These things are not hard to figure out if only one choses to be a little logical and use common sense.

nyameke: dude every question about life does not have its answers in the bible. I will have you know that the bible is a mixture of truth and lies created by individuals(the church) to control the masses. Part of the bible is doctored with lies. For instance have you stopped to asked yourself why a loving God will create volitional beings with free will and then turn around to command them and proceeds to give them a code of ethics and commandments to follow. Doesn't make any sense does it. What God gave to Moses were the 10 Commitments and not the 10 commandments.( but we all know what man has turned the commitments into)

All religions are man made. God or the creator is not an angry, vengeful, and jealous God. The real God or Creator is perfect love. Love does not hate, jealous envy or condemn. All religions have done is to create different versions of God who is to be feared and worshiped lest they get judged, condemned and punished to control the masses and not necessarily to seek the presence of the creator.

There is nothing like a place called hell. And there is nothing like an angry God or the devil. it is all man made creations based on fear. when we all "die" we go to heaven including so called sinners.
My brother abeg help explain to these religious programmed robots who only see shades of their own religious colouring. They talk about heaven and hell as if they have any serious proof besides their illogical belief its existence.

My frustration with religious people when debating with them is their resort to their little "holy books", limiting their opponents and forcing them to debate based on the ideologies and dictates of their "little holy books".

What if I do not believe what is in your holy book? Am I supposed to hold as divine and sacrosanct, words and ideologies written hapharzadly by mere mortals like me with their numerous religious and mystic beliefs? What makes them holy or divine? Who is the arbiter of this God's thoughts and what he says? Unless the authors of these books had four heads and superhuman powers to support such claims, it is all a gamble. Nobody can accurately explain what happens beyond the realm of our existence.

What about arguing on the authenticity and mendacity of such claims? Anyone can write a manual for how a movement must function, it does not neccessarily make dissident views outside the confines of the manual any less better especially when such ideologies have questionable claims and unproven assertions.

Abeg, people should stop quoting books from the little holybooks whose authors can't even accurately traced to anyone with actual existence of the time they were written.

Hahahahah. . . I always say it, religion is a big fraud! A LIE consistently told and taught until it metamorphosed into the truth. It is all about my God is the original God while yours is a joke. It is all based on foolish unproven claims, at this juncture, I will like to quote Acharya. S, "There is no single Giant male God in charge. There are 6billion little gods all jockeying for positions".
Don't you all see the paradox in the claims of an all powerful, all-seeing God who nonetheless allows evil, sufferings and death. . .lol. . More laughable is the fact that he can't even decisively deal with the devil who caused him so much headaches and compete for the human soul with him. It is like he is powerless when it comes to this little annoying creature dare-Devil called Satan.
He always hides behind his subordinates and alleged son to do his dirty work. According to christians, he was so appalled by the human race that he had to send his son to be murdered by the annoying humans just so his anger can be apeased and it will be to his own glory. What an egomaniac god, I must say. Religion is the surest way to 4ck up peoples's mind. It puts you in a numb state of thoughtlessness and irationality. Little wonder faithfuls see hope in their destitute state while their religious leaders climb on their backs to fame and fortunate even when it is obvious they are being exploited and decieved. Karl Max captured it even better when he said "religion is the opium of the people. One has to be in "that state-state of unbriddled illogicality and numbness of thoughts" to believe the bullshyte it spews and teaches. At op, the next time you have that discussion about who decides what after this life, tell your christian friend that let the best guy win na. . . . lol

nagoma: Sure an evergreen. The Temptations version is good , but I prefer the one by Otis Redding.
You need to watch the video of this song, their stage performance on it gave an edge and swag no other version has.

Some people dey look for person wey dem go kill. Poster abeg you O, just continue with the way you are going about it, listen to the real professionals here and the people that have been bold enough to share their own life experiences with you. All these religious zombies telling to fast and at thesame time eat healthy know nothing about the realities of the virus, Mr natural laws is just another sales man trying to advertize his wares, all these pseudo medical ppl will lead one to their grave one day. Abeg take your drugs and leave overzealous and irrational religious beliefs in the name of faith in God, all that tales of miraculous healings 4cking unproven claims and assumptions that could have been staged to hoodwink a religiously gullible congregation. Religion thrives on illogical belief systems, in the game of survival, it will be suicidal to choose faith over the empirical evidence of science. The world today is a testimony of the advancement of science not religious advancement that has brought more strife, exploitatation hate and wars. Take your drugs and don't listen to any religious advice thay will take you off those drugs.

rhymz: I have got a tone of love songs I will play just to reveal my hearts to her. . .by the way, a chic saw my love songs collection and almost seized my laptop just so she can get all the songs on a flash to herself. .lol. . Sadly, I am yet to get a girl that is realy emoitional and romantically into old good songs like me.
here are my list:
1. This woman's work-Maxwell
commentary: I always get a request from both guys and girls each time I play this song.
2. My Girl- the temptations
commentary: This song has been sung in different versions but I still prefer the original one from the temptation. It has got a very mature, happy feel lyrics that matches the mood of a person in love. It is an evergreen.
3. i have Nothing-Whitney Houston
commentary: One of those rare songs that you wanna listen to when you are realy in love and convinced about it. This is one of whitney's greatest songs she ever sung, this song showed her vocal dexterity, nobody could have sung this song any better than whitnety herself.
4. Saving All My Love For You-Whitney Houston
Commentary: i came to love this song when I first had a crush on this girl I never got to date, I found out in one of those many plays that it related with my situation then...she was with somebody else anyway...each time this song comes on, I am reminded of Uju.
5. For Your Love-Stevie Wonder
commentary: My girlfriend introduced me to this song, she is always mushy-mushy each time it plays. Trust steven to serenade you with powerful vocals on high keys plus realy strong lyrics that gets you in a state of "love helplessness". . Lol . .whatever that means!
