NIGERIA’S 36 states can now individually explore and exploit mineral deposits in their domains, provided they go about the exercise in manners that will not interfere with locations already given to other stakeholders, Mines and Steel Development minister, Dr. Kayode Fayemi has disclosed.

Fayemi, while acknowledging that the Federal Government enjoys exclusive rights to mine minerals across the country, noted that the constitution encourages states to either set up their own investment corporations or partner private investors to exploit minerals in their domains.

He disclosed this in Abuja, while playing host to the Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Mr. Wale Oluwo, who led a team from the state to make some requests before the Federal Government in respect of its minerals resources.

The commissioner identified the minerals in Lagos to include: limestone, silica, clay and a few other resources which abound in large commercial quantities in the country’s largest industrial hub.

According to him, “We estimate that we have limestone in the region of 12 million metric tonnes around the Epe area. We also estimate that we have silica sand of up to 200 billion cubic metric tonnes around the Ibeju-Lekki area. And the third one, which is clay, is about 180 billion cubic metric tonnes around the Lagos East.

“We’ve been carrying out various geological surveys, both aerial and on the ground, and we believe that data is key. So, when you are in a position to make that decision as to gathering data with respect to where solid minerals can be identified, we are assuring you that in Lagos, we will put our resources behind your efforts.”

I didn’t think much of it but a few days later same thing so I asked wife and she said it was prob just a pop up she may have accidentally accessed.

The history log was wiped from thereafter. I could never see my wife having an affair but it began to eat at me thus l downloaded some spyware. The results stunned me as l found my wife was . I accessed emails and pics and found my wife had spent a weekend not with a friend but with a guy who she spent all weekend sleeping with. Explicit pics showed her being a total dirty slut and the guy was very well endowed and noticeably much thicker than I. Haven't lived in England for some years and travelled around Europe. There are a lot of transport systems that can remove traffic congestion in Lagos but will they invest in it? I doubt it. Lemme mention a few to add to the OP's own. Cable Car system, Tram system, Ferry with the ones the OP mentioned Overground and Underground train even though it will take so long and massive investment in building underground tunnels and stations. The power sector is still bad so alot of these projects is not sustainable. The bottomline is that these idiots in govt have to stop stealing money and invest in massive infrastructure and planning. Try checking out transport for London( tfl.gov.uk) and see how a good city transport system is planned.

Non of those ideas will ever work in Nigeria until we change our attitude and mindset. its not just govt. what about the people? the few flyovers we have in Lagos are living apartments for area boys, stinking with human waste littered around. talking of infrastructure, do we have maintenance culture in our DNA? the day we even start using bicycles, one hustler will arrange to steal them from where they are parked. After all a ship got missing in a shipyard here in Nigeria. For Lagos to work, it has to be planned and rebuilt. Lagos has no plan! Can you compare the attitude of the foreigners you've seen with Nigerians?

Eleven passengers and driver  have been confirmed dead after a 16-seater Young Shall Grow Motors with registration number EKY 733 XD crashed  in a road accident into a truck in Benin yesterday.

  The fatal accident occurred at about 1pm along Benin by pass.The driver of the Young Shall Grow Motors and 11 passengers died on the spot while other people were severely injured.

  According to a Trezzy Blog reader who sent the photos, the driver of the Young Shall Grow Motors bus was speeding while on his way to the Eastern part of Nigeria from Lagos before he lost control of the vehicle while trying to avoid oncoming SUV.In the process,he crashed into a truck parked by the roadside.
Almost everybody in the vehicle died except 4 people that were severely injured.The injured people were rushed to a nearby hospital.

truth is, FRSC needs to commence compulsory refresher courses for commercial drivers. At least quarterly. All transport companies should support it. I've seen too many road accidents this year. I've escaped many partly because I gave the drivers tough time during those journeys. you need to see how careless our drivers are. Some think they are driving bumblebee or optimus prime, some others have no idea of highway codes. some also don't know that no Nigerian road actually has a speed limit above 80km/hr. some overtake at bends thinking they have 6 eyes. the witches and wizard factor comes last. finally I implore every passenger to always be vigilant and drive the vehicle with the driver. Don't sleep off and place your life in the driver's hands to play formula 1 with.

I've been observing that most of the recent structures they build in uniben lack appeal. The very first structures in uniben are by far majestic and better. The new ones? Nothing to write about. And you know why? Because they award the contracts by padi-padi....and an idiot just put a poor archi design and call it a building.
If I have my way I'll suggest some structures in uniben be pulled down!

I was thrown into a deep shock when i read in the news that President elect, M. Buhari bared media house AIT from covering his activities. Though i wasnt surprised by his action, i was surprise because he's already showing the true nature we knew he was even before swearing in. What sort of democrat bar a media house from covering public activities? Does he think the office of President is he's private property? Who does he think he is? A king? Does he know the meaning of a public servant? Maybe not. Why he's semi illitrate, if not he would have understood that in democracy, the office of the president is not only accountable to the people but also to the Press. That is why freedom of the Press is one of the shining lights of democracy as a form of govenment.



This singular act by Buhari to bar a media organization from covering his activities as president elect just comfirm that he's still the same old dictator that he was 32 years ago. A liar who lied to the world in Chatam house that he was a democrat, banning a media house from covering his activities because of a documentary? Very childish and imature indeed! Does he know what democracy is all about? If he feels pained by a documentary then he has no business in politics.



I remember vividly during the US presidential campaign of 2008 when Fox News network castigated Obama to a point of no return. They made fun of him, ridicule him, called him monkey, fueled his birth certificate issues to the extend that almost got most Americans asking questions about his true country of birth. In the end he had to surrender his birth certificate to the press (unlike Buhari and his school certificate mess). It was a scandal. Plus the many other systematic attacks against his candidacy. Fox news people are racist. Those of you who watched that channel during and after the Presidential campaigns will know what am talking about. But ever since Barack Obama won the Presidency of the United States, not ones did Obama vent out his anger to revenge against fox news. Why? Because he understood the principles of democracy. As a private individual no media house will bother you. But as soon as you become a politician, the eyes of the press makes a microscopic look at your personality. The media will not only scrutinize your past but will also go way back in time to study your childhood background. Any shocking revelation will be brought to the public front. That is the way it is in democracy especially in advance societies like USA. Even our dear GEJ was not speared from the hard scrutinizing lens of the press, sometimes personal and insulting attacks against him. Did he ever vent out his anger by baring them from covering his activities? No. Why? Because he like Obama understood the principles of Democracy. He understood that press freedom is paramount in democracy. Thats why Nigerians of all ages can express themselves freely without fear of being arrested. This is the beauty of Democracy and freedom. For Buhari to lower himself like a child who got his azz kicked by his cousin to trample upon Freedom of Press shows that he's nothing but thesame old dictator in civilian clothes.
Just like someone said, like OBJ like Buhari. Both dictators in civilian clothing.

BTW, I hear many Buhari followers giving excuses that he has the right to bar AIT citing privacy as reasons. Sure i completely agree that every individual on the planet deserves the right to privacy. That ofcouse is a fundamental human right. But they however failed to note that as soon as an individual becomes a public official in the position of a President elect, privacy becomes a secondary issue. Infact privacy is not an excuss to bar a media organization from performing its function by investigating Buhari's activites as president elect.

Did AIT not go against the broadcasting codes? How many times did NBC call them to order? Did they jeed the call? Let's not politicize what's going on. Why was channels not banned? And mind you. GMB has a right to choose whoever to cover his events. Its his right too. By the time NBC will start working effectively I hope you know those stations will be sanctioned appropriately. don't even try to give us this hogwash
