Can I ask u madam, Is there no public school around your community? I mean I believe there are still above average public primary schools in Nigeria whose teachers knew what they were doing,... why not enroll them there...at least, when the situation improve, u can send them back to private.... , where the teachers fall short, U or your husband can continue from there by teaching them...
Family › Re: I Resigned From Work In Lagos, Relocated To Abuja To Be With My Girl & Get A Job by Richy4(m): 6:32pm On Mar 20, 2021
What you are battling with is nothing but superiority Complex.... In your mind/ heart you have lined up how a man should be... A man should not wash his own cloth, a man should not do chores etc... That is just nonsense...Someone that altered her simple life style of living in an apartment and foots majority of the bills just to meet your demand half way, you were not even grateful... For your information, A lot of married men do chores.... If anyone on social media tells you otherwise, he is lying to u...

Besides, You know very well that covid-19 disrupted a lot of things around the world including Nigeria.. and you should know the average time frame that one would look for job around the world has doubled because of the pandemic... Take it easy with yourself... Be a little humble and focus on your goal... Though I simply wish that Lady saw a better man who will love her in return instead of u... because your Ego is higher than Kilimanjaro...

@ Richy4, I love short skirts and other outfits which are above the knees. They roll up higher on their own when we are walking, pulling it down is just reflex action.

I don't do short outfits to the point of vulgar or scandalous, it's short enough to keep me decent and appealing. I always carry a veil with me to drape it over my knees for when I sit down with my short outfits (House on the Rock Church, taught me this and now it's a habit)

I did that veil thing at an interview and my interviewers were impressed enough to comment on it.
Thanks for clarifying that.. When I see them doing that those days, I feel it's kind of dumb..
Family › Re: How To Plan A Family Budget In Nigeria by Richy4(m): 7:00am On Mar 19, 2021
TheFinance101:
Creating a family budget may seem like a difficult task as it entails balancing the financial needs of your family with yours. This is why many families operate without a household budget, and those who create a spending plan may not be doing it right.

However, planning a family budget in Nigeria goes beyond tracking spending habits and keeping receipts. Here are five steps to planning an effective family budget.

1. Set financial goals
This is the first and most important aspect of planning a family budget. You must first have an end goal before setting on a journey. Think for a while on the financial goals that align with every member of the house, then write them down. You may need to negotiate with them but make sure to set goals that everyone agrees to, else it’d be difficult to maintain the budget.

The goals you set are the targets that’ll help build your plan. Determine the amount you’d need to reach each goal, and how you wish to accomplish that goal. Examples of goals you can set are to get out of debt, save towards your children’s future education, retirement planning, or saving towards buying a house. Make sure to set short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals.

2. Evaluate your current financial situation
The next step is to evaluate the financial situation of your family by tracking your income and expenses. Make a list of your household income sources and recurrent expenses and their amounts. Then, track your expenses for two to three months, to understand your family’s spending habits. This gives you a clear picture of your net income and possible expenses to budget for.

3. Prioritize needs over wants
Once you know how much you have and what your goals are, choose a budgeting method that works best for you. As you track your finances, you’d notice the categories you do not need (or where you need to trim costs). To create an effective family budget, it is important to prioritize needs over wants and cut off the excesses in your expenses. This will allow some excess cash that you can save. Consider using the 50-30-20 budget rule to manage your finances.

4. Allocate funds
Start allocating funds to the essentials before moving on to the nice-to-haves and non-essentials. Fixed expenses are easier to list since the cost is usually the same month-to-month. For variable expenses, you’ll need to do some math to find the average.

5. Build your savings

Every family needs to have savings; a stash of funds towards meeting a financial goal. Even if you’re focused on paying off your debt, make sure to open an emergency fund and save three to six months of your family’s living expenses. Afterward, you can then start saving a particular amount each month, and invest your savings in a safe, high yield investment instrument like www.overwood.ng.
Good job buddy... I like this big time... You are speaking the language that most of us understands.. but there are still some you needed to break down for some....There are people that would like to know how to prioritize their expenses but the rule you mentioned with color is above 101...Give example smiley

I know variable expenses...but remember there are some of your readers who was seen last in Economics or commerce class in early '90s or beginning of 2000...that went into different career/ profession....They have heard it but can't remember what it was smiley... Please give some example...

Again, Great job buddy.. Great Job... smiley

Family › Re: What's That Thing That Women Wear That Irritates You? (men Only) by Richy4(m):
Mine was confident threat I guess...I like women that wears anything that makes them confident and comfortable....I mean anything at all short or long....because they are all unique in their own ways... what I don't like is when you decide to wear short skirts or gown... you knew that it was short, you bought it yourself... now while walking along the street wearing the "lo and behold", say lectures theaters, u start pulling it down... I mean why would you do that? do you expect a miracle to happen for it to be longer or what?.. You knew that it was short and all... or do you suddenly realize it was too short? these was common campus habit in my Uni days.. I don't know if this still happen on our campuses this days... OP please permit the ladies to tell me on this thread why that suddenly happen...on campus half of the time while walking some were struggling to bring down a short gown...were they losing confidence or was it the material jumping up...?

Aren't they using this statistics to deceive you guys... The North got better road network and other amenities than those states that were not mentioned there... They pay the salaries of workers/ indigenes every month unlike some states that were not there; that we usually read owing workers 3-4 months salaries.... so what's the noise about?....The only problem with the Northern state is that some of them gives birth to more than they can care for..If they can get ride of that, they will be perfect.. again they got fertile land, if mechanized system of farming is introduced to most of the states, they will be the richest...
