You may be right but, I didn't think of such, I was very angry about how my hardwork and honesty was rewarded. I felt it was an opportunity to pay back. My Experience in my first place of work and the lesson.

I started working with this construction company as the cashier with second class upper in Accounting. One day the CEO walked up to me and said we are under using you, on top of 50k salary. Then he offered me the opportunity to be his Personal Assistance. With additional bonuses such as free meal and transport fare.

I obliged and the next day I started my new role, 2 months later, he said I want to make you the group head of Audit, I obliged, salary was increased to 80k, bonuses such as 100k house rent incentive and 20percent on cost saving.

Long story made short, being a construction firm I was always sent on field trips, one of the field trip in Ondo, I intervene, we were constructing about 500kilo meter Road project. I saved alot of cost, I purchased and supervised the laying of asphalt. And I saved 15million naira from that project. I was to be paid 3M, but one story led to one and the other. And the money was shared among everyone. I didn't get up to a million, be a Dynamite (Dunamis Member) a devoted christian, I continue doing the right thing.

Some Engineers started resigning, and started sending me threats but I never mind, one of the project in Abuja, real estate, we were about to do polistering ( updated version of POP). Engineers brought quotation for 8000 per sqm. My Boss called me and ask me to see how I could help. By God's grace and mercy I got a person who agreed to do 5500 both with materials for 2500 sqm. God helping, I faced alot of opposition trying to fustrate the Job, but God intervene and the job was completed.

My boss kept singing my praise, not knowing it was the beginning of my exit route from the company. Fast forward to this year, on 18 march, 2022. An instruction from a junior staff got to my table to make payments and I refused, and the information got to the chairman, who was higher than my Immediate boss, that was how my immediate boss, to save his ass, directed that I should be suspended.

My audience, I was called back few weeks ago, after 4 months at home, even though I am not engage as at the period of waiting this. I refused with pride cos, they won't have my type again.

My lessons:
1. Be honest
2. Hard work and dedicated
3. Be trustworthy
4. Don't kill your self for your boss.
5. Save from genuine income
And always have in mind that you might be kicked out anyday.

Not sure why you didn't go .. get your 4months areas and negotiate a 6month salary for a future termination of contract.

Hello everyone,
I am in dire need of your honest advice. I am a fan of Nairaland but created this because of identity.
I am a medical student studying medicine in one of the public universities in Nigeria. When the ASUU strike newly started, I started looking for things to do and clients to work for. Fortunately, I got two clients who pay me about 200K per month since April. It varies; last month, I earned 199K, this month will be 220K+ if I work harder.
I have saved most of the money to write professional exams.
However, my school still conducts lectures through Zoom and we have not had rest since the strike started. We do have classes from 8am till 5pm except on some days. I am about three months back and our test is coming up soon.
Please do you advise I quite my 200k/per month and focus on my studies seeing that i have lots of materials to read and prepare for my test?
P.S: I have tried balancing but the freelance work is highly demanding. What do i do please?

Education dude .. Get someone to do the freelance work and pay the person a fraction of what you are being paid.. call it finders fee. But education man.

I got married two years ago, although left to me i would never have gotten married but i had to as the only son of my parent.

I live separately from my wife(a house i built, while i live in a rented place) and although we live in the same state but i can't just seem to live or co-exist peacefully with any other person other than myself.

My wife has really been on my neck lately, she came to my house last week with our child and refused to go back after a week. I am tired and i just wish to be alone please.

You see, I had to work on myself .... I had stayed the playboy, single lifestyle for a long time and so my stuff were exactly where i wanted it to be and where i could remember . With her, I had to shout .. where are my socks or where are the keys ...... Oh hun they are there and there . I was furious as things It appeared my life was upside down as i now had to ask . Plus special areas that were mine alone , now became our area, our stuff and now that you have a kid - his area and his stuff.
In addition putting the Toilet seat up or down discussion ... Yikes !!!

I had to change my personality bit by bit to conform to the new reality. Couples.
And she had to gradually effect her change. I still have an area called the " Man cave " where my stuff is as it is and which gives my liberty.

So there are questions you have to ask yourself

- Do you want to continue the single lifestyle or change to a matured person.
- Being in a marriage or live in partner requires change in one's personality unless you want a baby mama syndrome.
- What you have described above is a baby mama syndrome. If so , then sit her down and let her know and her people know. It is very wicked of you if you do not do so.
- Talk with her - For me, at a point we slept in different rooms till i became comfortable sleeping in the same bed with someone .
- It seems you want the benefit of marriage without the responsibilities that come with it. I ain't knocking you bro , just saying the truth.

If you arent ready mentally for the change then let her go ..... But it seems to me your letting a good woman go for something you can work out and make work. My 2 cents.

If the actual cost of fuel is N300 and subsidy account for N135 about 45%. Give whatever that amount is into the hands of all those earning average median salary per month. Those earning 120k per month and under get. Those earning above do not get.

You live rent free , you are not hustling to pay the rent. Or buy groceries or do the laundry .you should then focus your energy on getting a job and saving and then paying a heavily subsidized rent with your parents till you have enough to get your own place.

THE GIST.

I have a residential neighbor. He is in his 40's while I am in my 30's. He lives upstairs, while I live downstairs. He is a banker, divorced with his first, now ex wife with two children and became single again for a long time. From our conversation, his first marriage failed due to immaturity from both side. It became very difficult for him to re-marry because he wanted a help mate. A career / business / market wise woman that will help and build his life.

He told me the problem he is facing today was as a result of his first marriage, and the ease in his life will be determine by his next marriage. He told me he will not settle for the less and I believed him.

He had a lot of conversation with me about his life, although I never told him about myself. I just gave him few advice and prayed for him not to make another bombshel of a mistake.

Someone recommend for him a very young girl which he seem to like. Paid her dowry - traditional marriage in a hurry and brought her home as married couple.

To him, he has caught a fresh young fish.

When this young woman came, he was so curious about me which I seem to understand. One day I told her not to worry if I don't give her attention or always converse with her the way she want. I made her understand I don't speak much in person unless it is very important. I did this just to put her at ease.

THE PROBLEM

The problem right now, my neighbor is having serious headache. I mean extreme headache because the girl he married is still behaving like a child.

He just realize that he has made another huge bombshell. When he first brought her home after the dowry, I myself was secretly concern because the girl was just too small and immature for him. I mean too young to be his daughter age mate.

Yesterday he was shouting and willing to lay hand on her or send her back home. He married her without courtship for the very wrong reasons below.

The problem with your old friend is that he’s chosen the wrong person again. They are both immature.
There are tons of 17 who have started working from 15 years old at a fast food joint or the other. They know what they want in life and are aiming to reach there.
Your old friend should instead of wanting someone to control should mold the girl into what he wants. Treat her like an adult . Find her a job , educate her , take her out to a fancy restaurant , court the young lady and explain how things work. My 2 cents
