Car Talk / Re: Why Does A Failing Car Battery Catch People Unawares? by Ricmayak1: 7:25am On Feb 27, 2015
Dying batteries are not noticed during cranking on modern cars because during startup, timing is retarded. Due to this, new cars don't crank up immediately like old ones. It makes it difficult to know when a battery is dying because the battery will be able to start car within that period of retarded cranking.

Car Talk / Re: My Brake Pedal Makes Some Noise Anytime Its pressed by Ricmayak1: 4:11pm On Feb 22, 2015
Describe the noise. If the brake pedal feels spongy especially on loose/slippery surfaces, it's normal ABS operation. It will feel as if the brake is not effective but you have to keep the pedal depressed.

Autos / Re: Am A V.i.o Ask Me About Vehicle Documentation And Drivers Licence by Ricmayak1: 3:25am On Jan 27, 2015
Thanks for your sacrifice.
My questions:
1. Is it legal for VIOs to flag down road users with nail?

2. Is it compulsory to have a highway code book in possession?

3. If it's compulsory to have a highway code, is a soft copy on phone acceptable? If not, why?

4. Is it Illegal to drive when temporary driver's license has expired but the permanent one is not ready? If someone is held by VIO/road safety Marshall, how best can one defend himself?

5. Please, enlighten about driver's badge. Is it compulsory to have one?

Best regards.

Car Talk / Re: My Car Tries To Lose Balance Wen I Accelerate Hard by Ricmayak1: 10:00am On Jan 16, 2015
countless number of things can cause this. Few examples are: Tyres that are severely unbalanced, too much play in the steering/suspension system, misalignment, uneven break caliper grip, faulty hub especially FWDs, bent chasis, and so on.

It is caused by static electricity as some have mentioned. However, if your vehicle has spark plug wires, check that they are not bad and discharging electricity to ground.

Now we have a federal government. This has come lately though. Those people have killed many by obstructing a fast moving vehicle with nail barrier.
In fact, police now stops and hand over people to them and later collect their share. I saw a group with their plank and nails at military checkpoint today too, I was surprised.

Next: Police, road safety, military, vigilante extortions.

Romance / Re: Nigerian Men Abroad Prefer Marrying From Home? - Why? by Ricmayak1: 2:05pm On Dec 03, 2013
This guy has said it all!
sexkillz: I noticed that too. And it hardly goes down well, in my opinion.

Why is because those men want someone they can easily control. "sit down here and don't move" and she obeys. The girls there are deemed unsubmissive, and independent. That independence factor drives them nuts. The ladies know better, and know what respect from a man means and would not tolerate trampling on what they perceive to be their fundamental human rights. The men that think this way are usually selfish and egotistical although they might not show it. They think only about how they'll benefit from a "tamed" and "naïve" home grown lady. Now, he's coming home to look for a wife, but he has forgotten now that because he lives abroad, it'll be very difficult to find a lady who loves him for love and not for his money or his "abroadness".

He meets a girl who puts on her best behaviour because, all she can see is her prospects of going abroad.. She is also selfish in this regard and will not show it. When they finally get married and she leaves Nigeria, and the euphoria of getting abroad wears off, you see this same lady displaying her real color. Now she also wants to be independent after her eye don open and she don see as e dey go. The man will see her as unsubmissive and rude and now he is back to where he started from, if not worse.

The devil you know is better than the angel you do not know. Most of those girls they eventually marry are people who were recommended for them, and in most cases, the ones doing the recommending are in cahoots with the lady to dupe them. A lot of negative stories abound. . . There's a lot of eye-shining to be done.

mmmustapha: Members of the Gbagyi ethnic group, popularly
known as Gwari, are historical owners of
Kaduna town?? U r kidding ryt

They own kaduna town, abuja and partly minna originally. They are very peaceful and that is why you don't hear them cry out when provocked. Gbagyi's and Nupe's should never be tried with war. They are silent and very peaceful. Nupe's particularly have not loosed a single war out of many they have fought according to history.
