My one month pay can cover my rent, with this new increment I will just add 20k

I did that as a bachelor, my one month salary paid my rent, but as marriage enter, I had to shift. It's a good thing but some factors affect it.

As a rule of thumb, don't take an apartment that your 2months salary cannot cover.

Same advice goes to Landlords, don't take tenants who's two month salary cannot cumulate his annual rent.

Are you expecting landlords to ask prospective tenants how much they make in a month, and are you expecting the intending tenant to divulge such private information? I don't think so.

Before u argue just know u are talking to a person whose both parents retired as civil servants

There was a time civil servants could afford tear rubber latest Toyota or Peugeot in this country. No stealing. Just pay your car loan over 2-4 years conveniently with like 20% of your monthly salary. Those vehicles worth over N20m today.

You're right, but actually, we still do same today, on Nigerian used cars. We still take car loans from our salary accounts banks and spread payment over 3-5yrs. It's well.
